I was reading into this manga, but there was one line. One character trait that pissed me off to NO END. So much, that I quit the manga and I STILL steam over it. It is a MASSIVE pet peeve of mine that just causes me to rage to no end. I literally punched the wall next to me when I read that line. [spoiler=Let's take it from the top] Ok, it'd be better for me to start off with what exactly my pet peeve is. Since, unlike phobias, pet peeves really can't be named (I guess :/), I'll just call it "The Hatred of Mass Murder". Now, there are some examples as to this being acceptable, but I'll just state the ones that REALLY get under my skin. 1. Those responsible are woman/a girl(s) Now, this is just me assuming, really, but it would still stand. Now, according to the dictionary, a witch is a woman thought to have evil magic powers (<Literal quote). This brings me to the conclusion that all the main enemies in this manga are, in fact, female. This just makes the pet peeve worse. (Refer to the mentioned panels) Mostly, because I can't really wrap my head around a woman or a girl being just this evil. I don't know why. It's just never really comprehended with me. I've never thought of a girl being fully capable of murder. This doesn't just involve Mass Murder either. This is just ANY murder, whether it being a drive by or one of those weird Yandere manga characters. (Subsection 1) Now, based off of what I've seen, the Witches in this manga seem to be no more than, what, 14 in age? And they have magical powers. If you know me well, you'd know that I really don't like the Magical Girl genre (Unless the Males in the series get greater or equal power. Yes, it's sexist, shut up), and well... Mass Murder + Magical Girl + 14yo + Doesn't seem to give a sh*t about the lives of the innocent = Me imagining SO MANY TIMES of me banishing her to a realm where the souls of those she's killed torture her for 10,000 years, and then ending her life in the most painful way possible. This goes for every other witch in the series. I mean, it's just...UGH. I also seem to hate, in general, people who have NO regard for the lives of others. It pisses me off, royally. Urrgh...Until I think of something else to rant about this, I'm moving on. 2. Preventable Mass Murder This should be really self explanatory. Thousands of lives lost to something that could've been prevented. i.e., that ONE scene from Code Geass. You should know what I mean. And if you don't, it's posted in the "Disturbing Anime Scene" Thread. 3. Mother Nature's a B**** Yeah, this one isn't as bad as the other ones, but it's still pretty bad. Good examples would be something like 2012 or The Day After Tomorrow, or another C-Grade movie. Now, I guess I should point out an example of an acceptable version. For me, whenever a MAN is responsible for a Mass Murder...well, I'm kind of ok with it. I think it's because for woman, I always expect them to be kind, or sometimes motherly, or at the very least NON-murdering people. Plus there's also the ones that are [i]rivals[/i] with the protagonist instead of just total enemies. Some scenes you cringe at them, others you smile at.
