Those who loved The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars, take notice: director Mamoru Hosoda has been working on his next film and plans to release it to Japanese theaters in July. Titled Okami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki), the film tells the story of a 19-year-old college student named Hana. The girl meets a wolf-man and falls in love, bearing him two babies that are also part wolf. But when the wolf-man dies, Hana moves to a rural town to continue raising her children.
Hosoda has created, directed, and co-written the film with fellow scribe Satoko Okudera. Veteran character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Evangelion, Summer Wars) is, well, designing the characters. Takaaki Yamashita will oversee the animation, working with art director Hiroshi Ohno. NTV's Seiji Okuda is serving as executive producer, having performed the same duties for Studio Ghibli.
It sounds like they've assembled a great crew to support one of anime's rising stars. It just goes to show you that even if you start off working on licensed properties like Digimon and One Piece, you can reach the point where you get the freedom to make the movies you want to make. I know I can't wait to see what Hosoda does with Okami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki, so here's hoping for an imminent licensing announcement for North America!

I'm not sure if I should watch the Future Diary anime.

On one hand, I already know what the hells happens.

On the other one though, I am interested only slightly.

But then.... That'll take room from my schedule of studying tactics and watching Votoms.

I love Future Diary. 8D

And I only watched the Votoms movie, and I didn't like it. :/

I suppose old school anime is only for those who are..... seasoned....

Did you seriously just say that? Did you seriously just say that since we can actually get into newer anime while you only stick to older stuff that makes you a bit better than us.

Honestly, I'm starting to hate some of the newer anime and manga today....

Unlike you I can actually say that's okay that you do. I guess one thing I do like in anime is more solid animation or art style if you know what I mean. Newer anime has a style I prefer more but that may not be true to you. Or maybe you're saying that originality is dying a bit. Can't really agree with that but whatever. *Shrugs.*

I implied that I'm like a old man.

Old men are normally known to stick with stuff from their time. Like how some old men will refuse to accept modern evidence for stuff. Think Republicans.

Now, I may despise how the anime/manga market is now gearing towards moe-blobs instead of hot blooded pilots, GAR men and women, and now features generic Slice of Lives.

I also admit some of the newer series have interested me like Future Diary, Cage of Eden, and Highschool of the Dead (Which features a huge amount of political undertone if you manage, like me, to dig through the uneeded panty and nudity shots.).

You all though seem to be able to enjoy something that I hate. That doesn't make me better, though in some ways it makes you guys better.... But I only think I'm better then someone in regards with anime and manga is knowing about it's history and whether 1 mech can take on another. That and actually knowing an anime's reference or influence which sadly most people won't know or say is horrible.

EXAMPLE:

I had an argument with a NGE fanboy who refuses to admit that NGE reused themes seen in Getter Robo and in the books in the Saga of Nothingness (Namely Bug Killer Freed just to name a few, basically NGE was the toned down kiddy version with pretty boys and girls and replaced Buddhist images with Christian ones), and then had the balls to say it was even more better then Tetsujin 28 and had more relevance. Which is idiotic considering NGE wouldn't exist without Tetsujin 28 creating the mecha genre, nor exist with Ken Ishikawa's Saga of Nothingness and Getter Robo. That and it took perveyness from Go Nagai since he was the first to introduce copious amount of near or full nudity and along with blood and gore.

In other words, as long as you don't be ultra fan boy saying X is better then Y without any evidence of any sort, I will not look down upon you and say that a certain manga or anime is better then something that had actually revolutionized anime and manga. Just don't come at me with a argument about mecha unless you want a severe lecture that includes the history and the biggest names in it.

Thus reminds me of this one bastard who honestly thought stuff like Gundam 0079 wasn't better then Gundam Seed.

Now, I am not better then any of you. So far, I haven't seen any reason to think so nor have anything evidence to even suggest, let alone confirm something like that.

But, if I was back at my old anime forum, I might be better then their idiotic lot.

Sorry if this apology was too long or came too late.

... wow. I leave for... how long was I gone? I dunno, a couple days, maybe? Anyway, and now you're talking about Samurai X.
Although it sounds like a cool anime, what is it?
You may know it as Rurouni Kenshin.
It's a samurai anime (duh) about a former killer who has resolved not to kill anymore and only aims to protect with the sword.
It's pretty stellar.

Not a big fan of really old school stuff myself, especially not Astro Boy old.

AND IS THAT A TENTACLE MONSTER IN THAT VIDEO?!
Have you seen the new movie? If you don't want to see it as a good movie, watch the last five minutes.
