I'm pretty sure he went to the same high school as me, but I didn't like how the audience laughed in response to that. I can accept that Spider-Man 3 left in bad taste in people's mouths, but since I'm trying to actually read the comics so that I can be a "proper" Spider-Man fan, I was kind of sad that not many people were excited. I did talk with an old friend after the movie was over, and he agreed with me that the movie looks good.

I don't get why everyone complaining about the new cast. I liked Andrew Garfield in "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" and "The Social Network", Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy is a great choice, Dennis Leary is a huge improvement from Gwen's dad in "Spider-Man 3", and Rhys Ifans has played some creeper characters, so he's great as Doctor Connors.

I'll admit I didn't like the first-person scene at the end of the trailer, and Peter's attitude seems rather emo, but the film can resolve those problems by proving the first-person shot was only a teaser and having Peter undergo a little something called "character developmnet". I can understand that the trailer could have made a better first impression, but still.

I get where you're coming from. I'm trying to get as much in-depth knowledge as possible on Spiderman so when the time comes I can write an accurate review. Of course I'm doing it all for my own pleasure as well.

Trust me, I'm not complaining on the new cast. I too like the actors, however, I just hope they work well together. Some actors that are just slung together due to looking alike the original characters often or not don't contrast too well.

Eh, I'll just look forward to the movie coming out and hope it lives up to the expectations.

Besides, they do that a lot, though the fact that we have to wait even longer for this than the Avengers movie.

I should probably look up what people's reactions were to the announcement of Batman Begins. Granted, that was eight years as opposed to five, but then again, The Incredible Hulk was released five years after the original Hulk film, but I don't particularly care for Hulk. Batman & Robin was infamously bad, and was worse than Spider-Man 3.

The main reason I'm glad the Lizard is in this is because Doctor Connors was present in the original trilogy, but never became a villain. It's actually a good place to start. As for the Green Goblin, I hope they do what The Dark Knight did and save him for the second film. I'm not sure if they should put in Venom, though. He should appear after the Green Goblin, but that means he would have to show up in the third film, and we all remember what happened the last time they did that. I was recently thinking about how Venom is a popular villain, and I think I prefer Carnage, mostly because he is far more terrifying from what I recall. So, I want Carnage, but his appearance pretty much requires Venom.

Well, the main problem with Venom in Spidey 3 was that he appeared during the last half hour of the movie. Basically just thrown in there.
If he was the main villain of the movie and not a side villain, AND if he was more akin to the comics (big hulking guy that completely contrasts from Spidey physically), then it could go well for a 3rd film.

I always wanted to see the Lizard on-screen too, so that's another reason I'm psyched for the reboot.

There was gonna be a female Vulture in Spidey 4 until the reboot happened :T
The Vulture wouldn't be bad for a cameo. Maybe an approach for including multiple villains is for them to only appear once.
Like Spider-Man can beat up Vulture during the opening credits or at least the first few minutes of the movie before they're arrested and that's that.

I still don't get why Carnage is more powerful than Venom in the comics

He wouldn't have even existed without the Venom symbiote to begin with

Honestly, he's more powerful for a couple of reasons:

1-The symbiote that got off venom went to make Carnage, which mean Carnage is basically Venom plus something else.
2-let's face it, Eddie was perhaps evil but unlike Casady (If that is how you spell his name) he wasn't murder-agesant. He just had intent to destroy Spider-Man whilst Casady had hatred towards the entire World, which made him a bit more ambitious and crazy.

Even though Carnage was more powerful, i still think Venom looked cooler. but i guess that's because i prefer Black over Red, i guess.

Being a HUGE Spidey nerd, I wish they had Vulture as the villain. He WAS the first supervillain to be in the series.

The Chameleon was the first villain. :S

I reckon there needs to be a SpiderMan movie with the Sinister Six. Just Saiyan.

It's meant to be dramatic, not horrifying.

I was thinking the same thing. I found not a thing of horror in the trailer (plus I'm betting the producers feel a lot of people who will see this film would have already see the 3 Spider Man films anyway)
