Crush Card Virus should be banned.

Recommended Posts

This card is unfair, and yes it has a high chance of being banned. Despite this card's effect lasts for 3 of your opponents turns, it is not a Continous Card. If it goes to the Graveyard, the effect is still active.

Another reason that this card is unfair is because you tribute 1 Dark type monster with an ATK of 1000 or below from your side of the field to destroy monsters on your opponent's field, hand, and cards they draw that monster cards with an ATK of 1500 or more. This card is especially devastating in deck which runs Dark attribute monsters.

This card should be banned. Though still, this card is very rare, as it is not available in booster packs, tins, and decks. I don't mind people using this card against me.

Why would anyone curse at you? More importantly, why should you care?

i guess that those who claims that this card shoul, could or MUST be banned, never has thought the fact that if we goes on the same line, banning CCV means that they must limit DDV and semilimiting EEV...

also, CCV has a little flaw, it destroys the strong monsters on the hand, but when they're on the grave you can special summon them, even with macrocosmos out, with the inmminent increase of dark return deck you MUST side deck at least 2 return of the different dimension, or 2 escape from the different dimension or 1 dimension fusion... so not that terrible...

AND the card say that the monsters are destroyed, even those on the hand... it means if you draw a sacred phoenix of nephtys, it WILL return the next turn!! sweet!!!

The logic behind this is what? Banning one virus doesn't mean the others need limiting. (As it happens, DDV is also banworthy while EEV isn't even worth semi-limiting, but that's a different topic)

Don't pretend losing every strong monster in your hand, field, and next three turns of draws is a good thing. If losing all your strong monsters was good, discard costs would be totally ignored. Also, cards destroyed by CCV are RFP'd if Macro Cosmos is out, not sent to the graveyard.

what part of "you must side deck returning card" you didn't read??

the logic of banning all the virus is that their effects are the same: giving the player hand and field advantage by discarding and destroying... with all 3 you must check the opponent's hand, you will KNOW what he has, and how he's going to use it... based on that logic, better give a full shot of vaccine against the virus...

and yes, there's still people that runs sacred phoenix... not very competitive, but if CCV exist on the TCG more frequently i'm absolutely SURE that there will be at least 1 on every side deck...

People run Sacred Phoenix?

They actually do. For what reason, I do not know.

The only viewpoint that should matter is the one that promotes the health of the metagame. Obviously the kids who plays traditional won't care. The little kids who don't go to Shonen Jumps and who's Giant Soldier of Stone attacks The Moon won't care. Obviously' date=' only the opinion of good, skilled players should matter.

Also, how is it arrogant to assume the best player should win? The best player... SHOULD win.

After reading this entire post, I can honestly say: You are the cancer that is killing the game.

(inb4 YGO iz serios buzness.)[/quote']

Skill is not the only thing that affects the game, and its the only reason that UDE makes any money off of it. Cards are made harder to get because people will waste money (or if your me, Chaoserver, and about 6 other not named members of this site, rip kids on the internet for free stuff) to have a chance at getting them, so that they can play with less skill and have a better chance at winning. Thats the system, none of us like it, but its what we have to deal with.

I am? Hmm... Stealing cards from children off the internet, well I can definently see your point.

... Am I reading that right? You would prefer a game based on LESS skill? The little bit of skill that is in the game comes entirely from deck building and predicting. If you honestly want a game based entirely on luck' date=' go play Poker or Bridge or something.[/quote']

No, but, as an American, our metagame is affected by money. Money affects everything in American society, it determines your social status, and how easy life is for you. In Yugioh, it has an effect on how much of an advantage you have over other players. If you will pour more money into the game, your giving up that part of yourself* that you could have spent on something else, and thus should be compensated with better cards, so that you can play better with less skill.

Poker's a lot harder to rig, at least with yugioh, I can memorize where certain cards are when I shuffle. :P Shuffling skill is still skill, but of a different type, and it makes it easier for me to win, so why not take it into advantage just because some people cannot pull it off?**

*Note: Sarcasm

** Note: NOT Sarcasm

***For the record, I am not, and I mean, NOT a capitalist. Every card should be avaliable to everyone, so that the most skilled player can win. Of course, there would be no argument if this did not occur, and nor is the idea of every card being avaliable to everyone a reality that will ever occur.

Also, if Crush is avaliable to everyone in Japan, why is it not banned? Either its not unfair in Japan when everyone runs it, or UDE doesn't care about the Japanese metagame.

We're talking about what should happen, not what UDE will do for money. Read the topic title.

Also, the reason it's not banned is that UDE sucks at making banlists. That's why Metamorphosis is banned right now and the Cyber Dragon fusions aren't.

Oh obviously. But I still question why, if its widespread in Japan, what makes it fair over there? Crush card in America would be devastating, because not as many people run gadgets, but in Japan, everyone runs gadgets, so its not as bad.

Should it be banned for being cheap in some of the new dark decks that will come out and in perfect circle? yeah, of course, but we must realize that if we all ran gadgets, then the card would not be seen as ban worthy.

All I'm saying is that whether or not the card is cheap is just perception. If you run gadgets, who cares if they hit a single cydra, but it also applies if your running Monarchs, oh, theres all my Raizas :/. GG sir.

Should it be banned? I don't want to say yes, but I will admit it is quite unfair and is just beyond broken.

lol!! metamorphosis was banned not only for cyber twin dragon, also it was for other fusions with good effects...

without the cyber fusions, cyber dragon deck will no longer exists... and banning a whole deck without chances of an alternative is bad for the game and business... fusion-based decks ain't that good either...

Twas banned because you can Metamorphosis Demise into Twin for game. It was not banned because of Senshi or Dark baltar.

oh yes!! cyber twin for demise/doozer was the biggest reason... but i used to play a meta monarch deck, i used to call a fusion depending on the situation, even cyber blader (?)...

in japan this card existed by years and is common, and they didn't banned it... on america everybody fears that card, only for the strong monsters, but lately has appeared monsters with low or no ATK and awesome effects that can support several strategies...

don't be angry for this, but one of the decks that will abuse of this card would be venom... even if the opponent uses CCV vennominom and vennominaga has 0 ATK when you draw it... maybe i'll give it a try on GKO...

I don't know why you all are arguing over how rare a card is, or how much one costs. The statement was simply "it should be banned." my response to that is no it shouldn't.

I've been dueling since the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game came into fruition. From pack one to today. I own over 11,000 cards. I have always hated the limited, restricted, and banned cards list. I remember tournaments (even with the restrictions) where it was based off a duelists talent and skill that he won a duel, not because hundreds of great cards were restricted and everyone used decks based off the television show.

I personally own three crush card virus cards, and love using them. My friends love when I use them because it makes them think during their duels a little more. We have constantly challenged and pushed each other, and while we no longer compete in tournaments (due to the retarded restricted and prohibited list), we continue to accept challenges from anyone, anywhere, if we happen to be there at the time with our cards.

That is what I challenge all of you to do. Instead of worry about what needs to be restricted or prohibited, why don't you play them out. Challenge others who use those cards, test your true mettle. If you can't handle the crush card virus, that's your problem and you need to rethink your deck structure to handle such a challenge. Don't try and penalize the rest of the dueling community because of it.

I'd just like to get a grip on that.

over 11,000 cards. I know you didn't, but assuming you bought packs to get that many.

11,000 cards / 9 cards per pack = 1222.2 packs

1222.2 packs * $3.99 per pack = $4877

That is a TON of money!

... oh, and I don't think it should be banned because it's super special awesome! (SPAM PROTECTOR!!!)

Hold on, pause. How does the card make people think at all? It'll either screw up all your draws for the next three turns, or allow your opponent a sneak peek at your hand.

Please, for someone who claims to love the game as much as you do, you're just being selfish.

Only Shane Scurry can, and Shane Scurry doesn't spend thousands on tins and packs.

He obviously plays with Japanese cards..... as the only english copies that exist of Crush card are SJC and PT (I randomly found a picture of the English Pharoahs tour version on wiki)

How does it make you think?

1) Use weaker monsters in your deck. Not every battle is won because of uber-strong monsters.

2) Counter-Trap cards. Almost noone uses them, and nobody expects them to be used. It throws your opponent off when used against him.

3) If you know your opponent can use a card like that, or even the possibility (even if its something similar to that) you can plan for it. So what if your opponent knows your hand, he doesn't know what you intend to do with it.

C'mon people, yall have been playing with your structured decks a tad too long. See what all these restrictions on cards are doing to you?

1. There are more than a few "weak" monsters worth playing. What's your point?

2. Pulling the Rug, Dark Bribe, Solemn. What's your point?

3. No one can Side out all of their strong monsters, and no one should have to.

Well, duelists shouldn't be forced to give up some of their favorite cards because of restrictions but it happens. If the Crush Card Virus is allowed, quit complaining about it. You don't hear me up here complaining because I can't use half the cards I would like to in a duel (thanks to restrictions). The card is allowed, enough said.

this is weird... second time that i agree with you... we're adjusting eachother...

anyway, it's kinda stupid to side out the strongest monsters, counting that you can recycle them with transmigration prophecy, pot of avarice or monster reincarnation, and you can special summon them with call, premature, the shallow grave or even spear cretin... and how pleasure must be have your marie the fallen one (on the new simochi/reficule deck) your dasher, your necroshade or your DMoC on your grave for free...

hmmm, now that i think CCV can become food for bazoo, pot of avarice, even the new dark monsters... so it CAN give advantage to your opponent if you use it... a double edged sword maybe??
