Alright. If you couldn't tell by now, this is a guide on the Status Updates for all of you lovable new members. I've been seeing a few things being done really wrong in the Status Updates area, and figured I'd write this up.

Okay, so here are a few general things/rules that you need to know about status Updates.

1• The Status Update area is a public area for anyone to express their current thoughts, activities, or feelings. It is also a great place to post links to your card set or club for advertisement so that other members can comment and/or join! You can also post something like your current favorite YouTube video as long as it is within the bounds of general YCM rules!

2• The Status Update area [b]is not a Chatbox![/b] That means, if you want to speak to someone on a Status Update, [b]do not[/b] post a new Status. Create a comment on that person's Status Update. How to do that will be shown below.

3• The Status Update area is not a place to trash people! If someone makes you mad on the forum, please don't create a Status Update just so that you can trash that member. It is alright to express your feelings of disagreement as long as you don't insult anyone. It does nothing but cause more problems.

4• [b]Do not[/b] post more than 1 Status Update within 20 minutes after posting your last one. I've seen this rule being broken, and it'd be a generally good idea not to, because it could lead to warnings or ban. Also, please [b]do not[/b] post Status Updates with only 1 word in them!


[size="5"]–– How to use the Status Update Area ––[/size]

Some of you new members may not know how to use the Status Box without breaking a rule or two so below is a quick guide on how to do it, and guess what! It has pictures!

To start off, below is a screenshot of the Yugiohcardmaker.com Forum Page. I have highlighted the Status Update area for you!

Reminds you a lot of Facebook, doesn't it? Well, it's really really similar!


Ok, to post a new Status Update, click on the text entry area with the words "What's on your mind?" in it, and type in what you'd like your "Status" to say!

Now, to send your "Status", either press the Enter key on your keyboard or click the button labeled "Update" below your text entry!

[b]NOTE[/b]: If you'd not like anyone to be able to comment on your Status Update, click in the little "Lock" button under it to lock it!


Now that you have posted a Status Update, people can comment on it and tell you what they're thinking! If you'd like to post a comment on some one else's Status Update, click the "Add/Show Comments" button below the Status Update and write in what you think in the empty white box that shows up then click the "Comment" button! Don't post a new Status in reply.

You can also post Status Updates on your Profile page and they will still show up on the "Recent Status Updates" area!
