Yuzaki heard as Suzume explained how she wanted to fight her own battles. He pressed a button on his duel disk, which was still in standby mode, and it unlached from his arm. "Careful when you activate it," said Yuzaki as he handed the golden duel disk to her, "it's spinning blades are very fast so it can surprise you when you first activate it." He looked at Christopher again, his eyes were glowing more menacingly than ever now. He then turned his gaze to her and the glowing dimmed down but his eyes remained transformed. "I am confident you can beat this guy," he told her, "just... Be careful, this guy is different. He has a strange aura around him, I am pretty sure this has to do with the prophecy and the guy... Amathoz..." Yuzaki was uneasy and he recalled when Amathoz attacked him for the first time, but he kept a serious face. "I'll keep the darkness out however I can," he said, "and if you do anything to her..." He stopped before saying anything more. He looked at Suzume and gave her a small smile, one of the rare times he actually smiled really. "Learned from the best," said Yuzaki with a curious tone, "who would that be?"

Christopher looked at Yuzaki, a look of pure hatred across his face. "Well, well, well...I hadn't been expecting to see the reincarnation of the Pharaoh himself while I was here." Je smirked as he was ordered to tell who he was. "Well, I guess it's about time I told the truth about myself. I am nothing that you know of me; I'm not white, I'm not British, and I'm certainly not called Christopher." He started to wipe away the makeup on his face and hands, and then ripped off his guise, showing his true self in his alias' clothes. "I am Seth Bes, meaning 'appointed Guard'. And the reason I serve master Amathoz is because of you, Yuzaki. You had sentenced me to death and when I escaped executed my saviors, my only friends. I ended up immortal due to my intense hatred and a bit of help with the Gods, and I was glad to watch your beloved kingdom fall over time, but now you're back, I guess I'll have to deal with you once this runt is gone!" He looked at Suzume when he said 'runt'.

"It was just some guy," Suzume replied, taking the duel disk, "you were busy that day." Suzume had seen this duel disk activating before, and so once it was strapped on she held it at arms length, to make sure none of the blades hit her as the device set itself up to duel. The transformation sequence complete, she put her deck into the slot and looked back to Chris. "Size doesn't matter any more, idiot," she told him, "so just-"
She stopped dead as the rest of what this man said hit her. "You're from Ancient Egypt? That's impossible. Humans can't live forever, and they certainly couldn't thousands of years ago." [i]Then again, if just putting that make-up on makes him look almost identical to that Lloyd person, then it could be...[/i]

Almost as if he could read Suzume's thoughts, Seth confirmed what she'd feared; "In case you're wondering, yes, 'Lloyd' was my alias from some time ago, and before that was George Harlingdale, et cetera. And I think you'll find it's very possible for a human to become immortal; all it takes is a deep hatred and some ancient rituals...and now my pact with Anubis, god of the Dead, will protect me from all death...Including this challenge! So as you see, I have nothing to lose!" The shadows grew more and more intense, however it seemed Seth was not as confident about being protected from duat challenges. "Now, then, miss Suzume, let us continue now! DUEL!!" He drew 6 cards from his deck. "I would let you go first, but since this is an urgent mission, I think I'll have to start and get this done quickly!" He studied all six cards. "I think I'll begin by using the best card in my new deck; I activate...this!!" He took a spell card from his hand and placed it in his Duel Disk. Instead of the normal fashion, the strange green book materialised from the shadows themselves. On the front cover of the book was a cartoon dragon and the words "Toon World". Seth recoiled slightly as he payed 1000 life points to activate it. "I'm sure you know of Toon World? It's a handy little spell which lets me summon Toon Monsters, so, let's begin! First, I special Summon my Toon Mermaid in defence mode!"

A large clam appeared from the book, which showed a pop-up underwater village in it. The clam opened slightly to show a small Mermaid within. Seth then took another Monster from his hand and placed it on his Monster Zone. "Next, I'll normal Summon the Toon Gemini Elf, and then Tribute her to Special Summon the Toon Dark Magician Girl!" As soon as the two elves appeared, they were bound together by the shadows and vanished in a magical hat, which lifted to reveal a cartoon girl clad in pink and blue. 'Hi, there~' she called out. Seth took the last 2 cards from his hand and set them. "I'll lay these two face-downs and end my turn."

[i]An all-out opening?[/i] Suzume wondered as she drew her own card. [i]The question is, which of those cards are to protect his monsters, and which are to protect Toon World.[/i] She looked at her cards, and came to a decision. "First up, I use Mystical Space Typhoon, and destroy your left face-down." A whirlwind ripped across the field and crashed into the set card.

"I Summon the Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus," she called, placing her card onto the duel disk. A winged horse appeared in front of her (ATK 1800). "Now, when Sapphire Pegasus is summoned, I can take Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle from my deck and place it as a Spell Card." A rough-cut blue gemstone appeared behind her monster. Suzume took a second card from her hand. "I equip Sapphire Pegasus with Crystal Release, which gives him another 800 ATK." The monster in question glowed as it powered up (ATK 2600). "Now Sapphire Pegasus, attack Toon Dark Magician Girl." The horse rushed forward at the spellcaster, head down, horn ready to strike.

"Oh," said Yuzaki when Suzume responded, "I was busy was I?" He then looked back at Seth who had started the duel and was using... Toons! He was a little amused but he knew better than to underestimate this guy. Then Suzume conntinued with her turn and Yuzaki was a little worried. "On your guard Suzume and nice opening strategy," said Yuzaki, "so... I sentenced you to death... That's nice; Anubis gave you that life?" Yuzaki was quite befuddled, last time he checked Anubis would never conspire against the pharaoh unless... It was a god even worse than Anubis, maybe it was actually Apophis. He tried to brush the horrible thought off and focused back on Seth. "I'm guessing sorry is out of the question," he laughed as he said this Yuzaki seemed a little bit more like his old self for a moment, "but I guess you must have done something terrible if I did that." Yuzaki seemed to be concerned for the man but at the same time he felt that Seth could not be trusted.[i] A man that knew me in my other life, and is still alive. Geez, isn't anyone from my time in Egypt going to be nice and NOT try to kill me?[/i]

[OOC: Remember Lugia, if Seth knew the pharaoh he must have known his queen... And Amathoz told you the name of his queen, remember. It's a good time to start revealing some of the past from someone who was so closely connected to it]

"My dear lady Ankhsenamun, I'm afraid you've walked into my trap here; I activate my quick-play face-down card Forbidden Lance, which will now reduce the ATK of your Pegasus by 800, and it will be unaffected by spell and trap cards, meaning it loses another 800 which it had gained from your equip spell!" A strange golden lance appeared next to Sth, and he threw it in the direction of the winged horse, which naturally pierced it and would reduce its attack power by 1600, leaving it at 1000. "Now, Toon Dark Magician Girl, counterattack!" The cartoon girl jumped into the air and rode towards Sapphire pegasus on her wand, preparing to cast her Dark Burning attack. Seth only just realised in his haste he'd said the name of Suzume's past self, but it did not matter. He'd explain it later, anyway, after he'd destroyed her.

[i]Ahnksenamun?[/i] Suzume briefly wondered before the cartoon's counterattack destroyed her monster. She cringed as the magical attack hit her - unlike normal games, even with Yuzaki's duel disks, this really hurt. She had to take a moment to catch her breath. "Still," she continued, "when a Crystal Beast is destroyed it goes to my Spell ad Trap zone as a spell card," she explained, as another blue gem appeared, "and when Crystal Release is sent from my field to the grave, I can place another crystal beast there as well, such as my Emerald Tortoise." Another gem, this time green, appeared. "I place one card face-down and that will do for now."

Seth drew another card from his deck and viewed it. After a small amount of pondering, he set it face-down in his spell/trap zone. "I'll now attack you with my Toon Dark Magician Girl!" The Dark Magician GIrl lept into the air again and prepared to strike once more, this time at Suzume directly. "Go, Toon Dark Magician Girl! Dark Burning!" She flew towards Suzume and cast a spell of fire which headed directly towards the target. [i]Thanks to being a class-B toon, I don't need to pay life points for her effect like Class-As, and she doesn't rely on toon world to keep her effects going like a class-C toon.[/i] He thought to himself.

[Time Psyduck]

"I activate my face-down card Last Resort," Suzume declared as the card swung upright. "When my opponent declares an attack, I can activate the field spell "Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins" directly from my deck." She searched out the card and placed it into the field spell slot. The darkness surrounding them seemed to lift, as the shadows revealed the ruins of what seemed to be a stadium. "I now activate the effect of my Rainbow Ruins. Whilst I have 2 Crystal Beasts in my Spell Card zones, once per turn I can halve the battle damage I take."

The spellcaster's fire attack continued, but it seemed to be reduced in intensity as the flames engulfed her. This time she was better prepared, but she still winced from the pain, and was panting when it dissipated (Life points: 6000). [i]I have to finish this quickly,[/i] she realised [i]I can't keep this up forever.[/i]

Seth seemed slightly disappointed, but the demonic look in his eyes did not disappear. As he declared the end of his turn, it almost seemed as though the shadows were beginning to wrap themselves around each player as they lost life points - although the ones around Seth were acting more limp and loose, as though something was preventing them from fully taking hold of his body. "Come on then, girl! Let's see the worst you can do!" He shouted, bloodlust now emitting from his every word.

Drew was shuved into the door by Seth so that he could block Suzame from leaving. Seth began to reveal his true self and Drew smiled as the truth was revealed and the duel began. Drew noticed that Yuzaki was there and was watching the duel. He smiled and looked at him. " Hey there Yuzaki long time no see." Drew smiled and laughed a little as he had said that. He knew that Yuzaki didnt recognise him with his mask on. " Oh dont you remember me. You probably dont recognise me with my mask on." Drew stopped and laughed for a while. " Its me. Your good old friend Drew." Drew stared at Yuzaki and smiled as he waited for a response.

[Time Psyduck]

"My turn then," Suzume declared, drawing another card. [i]The problem is that face-down card. If it's the wrong thing, then I could be in serious trouble. For the moment I need to secure my position[/i] She looked at her cards. "OK then, I activate Crystal Promise, which lets me summon a crystal beast from my spell zones. I call back Sapphire Pegasus, who's effect lets me place Amber Mammoth in my Spell Card zone." The winged horse burst from it's gem, which was replaced by an amber-coloured stone (ATK 1800). "Now I summon Crystal Beast Topaz Tiger to the field," she continued, as a white tiger burst onto the field (ATK 1600).

"Battle," she called. "Topaz Tiger attacks Toon Dark Magican Girl, and because of his effect he gains 400 ATK for this battle." The tiger roared as it lunged forward at the spellcaster, claws and teeth ready to strike (ATK 2000).

The attack headed towards the Dark Magician Girl, who seemed absolutely terrified at the sight of the tiger's fangs. 'Help me~!' she cried out. When Seth refused to help. she turned and tried to run into the Toon World Book, however, she was bitten and consumed by shadows surrounding them as Topaz Tiger destroyed her. "Those ruins could negate a spell or trap's activation for now, and it seems that this toon is over." He laughed at his own joke, despite it being at his own expense.

[Time Psyduck]

[i]Either he wants to save that card until he can use it, or he simply hasn't had a chance to use it,[/i] Suzume reasoned, as the clawing shadows did what the panicking toon had failed to and destroyed her monster. [i]Either way, it's going to plan so far.[/i] Another rough-cut gem, this one yellow, emerged on her field. "Topaz Tiger becomes another gem on my field. Now, Sapphire Pegasus attacks Toon Mermaid." The winged horse leaped forward once again, it's horn driving at the aquatic creature within the shell.

"Because I have 4 Crystal Beasts in my spell and trap zones, Rainbow Ruins lets me draw an extra card each turn." She pulled the card from her deck and looked at it. "I end my turn with that."

As Seth drew his next card, his mood seemed to improve slightly. "Okay, First, I'll activate my Face-Down card; Ring of Destruction! This card destroys 1 Monster on the Field and inflicts damage equal to its ATK to both players...that means you lose Pegasus and we lose 1800 life points a piece!" The shadows crafted the ring which held several grenades around its edge, and the ring then flew towards Pegasus, surrounding it. "Now, unless you have a particular response, I think it's time you said goodbye to Pegasus!"

[Time Psyduck]

[i]If I take the damage I can keep Pegasus in my backrow, but I'll have less of a cushion against whatever he does this turn. If I negate it Pegasus will go to the graveyard, but I'll have an extra 1800 life points to deal with whatever he does this turn. With only one card, that shouldn't be too much, but I can't be certain what he's holding isn't something ridiculous that will result in me losing a lot of life points. What it could be in a Toon deck, I can't be sure, but to be safe...[/i]

"I activate the effect of Rainbow Ruins. By sending Sapphire Pegasus to the Graveyard, I can negate a trap card's activation and destroy it." The pegasus disappeared, and the grenades exploded - or rather popped, as they all turned out to be duds.

[i]So, what is it you just drew? Just a decent monster, or...[/i]

"With that effect out the way, you can't negate my spell or trap cards, which now means I can activate my Pot of Greed!" The giant green jar appeared in front of both players, two cards bursting out of it and flying into Seth's hands. "Now, I'll activate the Toon Table of Contents to add a Toon Goblin Attack Force to my hand!" Toon World's pages flicked towards the contents page, and the chapter titled 'goblins' lit up. At once, the pages flicked again, revealing a pop-up land of castles and forests, and then... "Next, I'll summon my Toon Goblin Attack Force!" A cloud of green smoke erupted from the pages and a team of cutesey but rude golbins burst out, standing to attention. "Now, I'll activate the other card in my hand...Giant Trunade!" A huge storm erupted around the hall - something not possible with holograms. Curtains were pulled down and the support beams began to buckle. All of the crystallised crystal beasts, and Toon World, were returned to their owner's hands, and naturally, the city around them vanished in an instant. "Next, I'll switch my Mermaid into attack position, and re-activate Toon World!" The book triumphantly re-appeared, and the goblins seemed to acquire more power. Of course, the shadows surrounding Seth seemed to grow stronger and cover more of him, but they were still nto being as tight as they were on Suzume. "Now, then...It's time for my call to arms! My goblin attack force will attack you directly!" The Goblins also headed straight towards Suzume, bypassing Pegasus.

Escher continued towards the YK Co. building, passing a furtive-looking man who had just left. As he entered, all traces (or at least most) traces of insanity were gone, leaving a look of 'all business'. He walked up to the receptionist. "Hello, is a Mr. Track here? I have a package to deliver to him and I understand that he is an associate of the CEO. Could you direct me to him? This is a package that must be delivered by hand." Escher waited for the receptionist's reply, all the time irritated about his use of this method.

Suzume threw here arms in front of her face, but couldn't do anything more to shield herself from the attacks of the cartoon goblins. Under their very realistic blows, she sank to her knees, curled up to minimize what they could hit (life points: 3700). When they finally relented, she pulled herself slowly back to her feet - not an easy task, with most of her body aching and the shadows binding her even tighter. She stood, breathing heavily, and stared Seth in the eyes.
"Is that it?" she asked.

Yuzaki looked at Drew and then turned back to Suzume who was pummeled by the goblins and slowly the darkness started closing in. He rushed to her and his necklace flashed repelling the darkness once more. "Suzume," said Yuzaki as he held her up, "careful there is a lot at stake here. Don't you dare lose this fight, I can't bear to lose you!" As he finished he noticed that he said something a little too revealing to her, can't bear to lose you those words were very deep even for a best friend. Yuzaki looked away and did not make direct eye contact with her because his eyes had started to water a bit something that was very rare to happen to him. He dried them and turned his gaze at Drew who still had a mask on. "Drew?!" he exclaimed, "you left, Lucas and I thought you were kidnapped or even worse!" He looked carefully at Drew and noticed, by his expressions he did not recognize the name Lucas. "Drew," said Yuzaki more slowly, "what have they done to you? Don't you remember the big trio, each of us with one God Card? Why are you on the opposite side?!" Everything was extremely confusing, Yuzaki could not focus with one of his closest friends turning on him and the girl he loved on the edge of losing her soul. [i]If I could just keep this thing glowing the darkness will stay away from her, at least I hope so; it worked last time.[/i]

Seth seemed disappointed he couldn't have done anything more, especially since he had nothing on his field besides the now-sleeping goblins and Toon World, and nothing in his hand. "I guess now I have no choice but to end my turn, in full knowledge that my goblins might be destroyed and my life points will take a little damage...but I think it's worth it for now. Go on, Suzume, make your move." It seemed his mood was not deteriorating despite the fact that he'd most likely be at a loss during the next turn. Then, he noticed Yuzaki's words, and laughed. "Hehe, so the sands of time still can't separate a Pharaoh and his queen, eh, Yuzaki? It's not a coincidence that you two like each other." He looked back at hsi opponent, and smirked. [i]Once she's gone, Yuzaki - no, the Pharaoh - will finally have received the appropriate punishment for having killed my only friends...Well, for now, anyway.[/i]

Escher drummed his fingers, tapped his foot, ANYTHING to show the unresponsive receptionist his disapproval at her lack of reaction. He [i]had[/i] managed to glean the fact that a 'Mr. Track' was present in the building, but not where. Fed up, he marched past the desk further into the building. When the receptionist got up to stop him, Escher shoved her out of the way and kept walking. As he waled further into the building, his pace quickened into a run as he became acutely aware of the presence of security personnel, likely called in by the brain-dead receptionist. Escher smirked; he did always love a good chase scene.

"I'm fine Yuzaki," Suzume told him, "look. I have all these cards, and he only has those two. I'll be fine." She then turned back to Seth. "Even for a guy who shouldn't exist, you talk too much crazy. I'll just have to shut you up. It's my turn." She drew, and looked at her card.

"I place one card face-down, and then activate card destruction. This makes us discard our entire hands, but in return we draw the same number of cards. You have no hand, so you draw nothing, but I have six cards," she explained, holding them up before placing them into the graveyard. She took her fresh hand and looked at it. "Perfect," she declared. "First, I activate my face-down Crystal Blessing, letting me place Sapphire Pegasus and Topaz Tiger as spells." The blue and yellow gems emerged onto her field, and she picked up a second card. "Next, Crystal Beacon. When I have two crystal beast crystals, I can summon a Crystal Beast from my deck. I summon Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle."

The small purple spirit leaped from it's position near her and became more solid, sat at one end of the field and giving a rather un-threatening growl (DEF 300). "Now, Carbuncle's effect activates, allowing me to summon these guys-" Ruby's tail glowed, and Suzume gestured to the gems, which burst open to reveal the two beasts within (ATK 1800, ATK 1600). "By the effect of Sapphire Pegasus, I now place Emerald Tortoise as a gem on my field-" The green gemstone reappeared "-and I summon Amethyst Cat." A pink feline emerged, at the other end of the field, and hissed at Seth (ATK 1200).

"Now, I have seven different Crystal Beast monsters on my field and in my graveyard," Suzume explained, picking out one more card as the faded images of the other three beasts joined the four out as monsters, "which means I can summon this, the ultimate Crystal Beast card. Come on out, Rainbow Dragon!" From out of the shadows, an immense serpentine creature, bright white with a row of gems along it's flanks, descended, giving an immense roar which seemed to shake the room (ATK 4000).

"Now, Amethyst Cat will attack your Goblins," Suzume called, the cat leaping forward, raising it's claws to the sleeping cartoons. "Next, Sapphire Pegasus and Topaz Tiger will attack you directly." The two beasts leaped forward, aimed at Seth himself. "Finally, Rainbow Dragon will finish this. Attack with Over the Rainbow!" The gems along the flanks of the dragon lit up in sequence as it opened it's mouth. A mass of multicoloured light formed, which lanced forward as an immense beam towards it's target.

Drew looked at Yuzaki with a confused expression on his face. He was slightly confused when he had heard Yuzaki say something about Drew, Yuzaki and Lucas being the big trio. He looked at Yuzaki. " God cards. Big trio. What are you talking about. Why do you say that i know this Lucas guy. Im simply here to defeat him thats all." Drew didnt know what Yuzaki was talking about but he also didnt really care. " Listen Yuzaki. Me and you may have used to be friends. But not any more. My only goal is to destroy you. You see Yuzaki when i left town i went to train so that i can defeat you. Then i met Amathoz. He gave me power." Drew then realised that Yuzaki said something about each one of them having a God card. " Tell me more about these God cards you were talking about. Maybe that will refresh my memory." Drew smiled to himself as he waited for Yuzaki to respond to his question.
