Yugioh! The Ancient Prophecy... [PG-16]

Kai, having forced his protectors out of his mind without fully realising why they had been in there in the first place, did the worst thing possible, and accepted the duel. He activated his duel disk which automatically shuffled his deck and handed him 5 cards. He seemed glad to have another duel to test his new creations, and hopefully they wouldn't be such a pushover. "You can go first, since you challenged me, stranger." With this, he looked down at his hand, and suddenly gasped; the cards in his hand all had blacked-out pictures - or at least, the ones he'd made. What...What's just happened to my Digihumans...Where have they gone?! He took the cards from his hand and began staring at them intensely, oblivious to his opponent.

Elsewhere, 'Harlingdale' was passing by the school when he decided on his course of action. "Alright, I should check the school records...Who cares about confidentiality when you've got a millionaire at your doorstep?" He looked at the closed gates and noticed a buzzer on the right, which was evidently for visitors to use to gain access. He pressed the button on the device and waited for a response from anyone in the school office. if she is indeed here, it shouldn't be too difficult to organise a meeting...or to eliminate her as Amathoz requested...

Drew fell on his knees and held his head in his hands as he saw the gruesome pictures in his mind. After Amathoz had stopped sending the images into Drews mind he got up. He heard Amathoz tell him to tell this Seth person to use some sort of stone or something to control some girl. Drew knew that he would be at the school. Amathoz then told Drew to go after Yuzakis brother Lucas. " Master Amathoz. Do you wish for me to go after this Lucas or do you want me to use these stones and turn him against Yuzaki." Before Amathoz could answer Drew carried on talking. " Personally i would like to defeat him my self so that i can see if Yuzakis new best friend is stronger than me. I used to be friends with Yuzaki. Best friends in fact. Now i must test the strength of this Lucas. Also i want to make sure that Yuzaki knows that im back."

"How very gracious of you!" Escher similarly drew a hand of five cards, then one more. "My turn begins, draw! Standby phase, ah! Main phase 1. First, I'll activate a Spell card, Terraforming! This allows me to move a Field Spell to my hand, and I'll choose '4-Dimensional Space'! And now, I'll activate it! Go, '4-Dimensional Space'!" As Escher laid the card in the Field Spell tray in his Disc, there was a sensation of movement, as if the world were falling flat to one side; as if the duel was moving at a right angle to space itself. The Disc holograms (or are they holograms?) soon displayed a vast world where nothing made sense from a geometric standpoint, especially the 'view' of the world along Escher's right-hand (ana-hand? kata-hand?) side. "Ah, it's good to be back. The power of this Field allows each of us to control twice the Monsters and Spells/Traps as normal. I will finish out my turn by Setting two non-Monster cards face-down, the Summon Kozaky in Attack Position! Your turn." he finished, a weak demon in a torn lab coat appearing on his field while Escher made made an overly-theatrical bow.

ESCHER'S FIELD SO FAR:
Field Spell: 4-Dimensional Space
1 Monster: Kozaky(400/400) in Attack position
2 Face-down S/T

8000 Life Points, 2 cards in hand, 1 card in Graveyard, 0 banished cards
4-Dimensional Space
Field Spell
If this card would be destroyed or leave the field due to the effect of a card, you can banish one card in your hand and one card you control to negate the effect of the card and destroy it. Each player can control up to 10 Monster Cards and Spell or Trap Cards. If this card leaves the field, each player destroys cards they control until they control 5 or less Monster Cards and 5 or less Spell or Trap Cards.

After finishing his examination of his blacked-out cards and sighing, Kai proceeded to draw. As he did, he smiled. He took the blacked-out Doragon from his hand and was about to play it, when it was suddenly struck by darkness, which spread down Kai's arm and electorcuted him while inciting his inner darkness. Even though the pendant had been lost, it seemed the wickedness permanantly burned into Kai's heart from his acts would be able to attempt to control him. Doragon's spirit emergerd behind Kai, perfectly visible to Escher this time, but as it tried to enter and thus protect its master, it vanished as it was consumed in a dark cocoon. When the pain stopped, Kai opened his blood-red eyes, which now burned with hate. He looked at the cards in his hand; the blacked-out ones had changed into more powerful dark ones.
What...? I never made these...? What's happened to them...? He asked in his head. As he studied the new effects, he smiled once more. "Heh, guess it won't hurt to play these guys, then!" As he spoke, it was as if a darker tone was set in, warping his voice like Yami Marik's from the anime, but only just. "I use the effect of my D-Digihuman Doragon; by removing from play the original, 'nice' version from anywhere in my hand, Deck, Field or Graveyard, I can Special Summon him to the Field!" His duel disk ejected a card from the deck, which Kai placed in his deck box on his jeans. He then took the D-Digihuman card from his hand and placed it on the Duel Disk. As he did, the 'hologram' of Doragon appeared, in his normal form. He looked back at his master and let a tear fall before the dark cocoon returned, which immediately burst open to reveal Doragon's evil form.

"Hm. Impressive! You have some interesting cards! Sadly, I regret to inform you that it will be destroyed. Open face-down card: Torrential Tribute! When a monster is Summoned, this destroys all monsters on the field!" A 'hologram' of a tsunami rose up behind Escher and obliterated both Kozaky and the Digihuman. Escher's rebuttal wasn't quite finished yet, however. "When a face-up monster I control is destroyed by an effect, I can Special Summon Machine Emperor Wisel ∞, Wisel Top, Wisel Attack, Wisel Guard and Wisel Carrier! Er, wait, wrong version. It's all one piece now, isn't it? Anyway, take form! Machine Emperor Wisel ∞!"

Kai smirked; being a card designer, her was no stranger to Meklords himself, and their toned-down real life effects.
"Heh, this is of no consequence to me. Your Meklord is powerful, but I'm afraid it has 0 ATK and will continue to unless I play a synchro monster for it to absorb...And I have no intentions for that! I'll activate Pot of Greed, which allows me to draw 2 cards from my deck! Any objections?" He looked at the 4 cards in his hand now PoG was activated. He had a plan, but Wisel's effect could prove troublesome for it.

Amathoz looked at Drew intently and then turned away. "Yes," he said, "you may dispose of that Lucas man, I have no reason to keep him around." Amathoz then took a small snake from his robe and threw it at Drew which then shaped itself into a pin and made a small scratch on his face. "And you would do well to remember who is in charge here," said Amathoz grimly, "follow Seth he is on the trail for both his queen and wife; and most importantly the pharaoh himself, however don't you dare engage him." A dark and mysterious shadow formed in the walls of the entire room. "I am not interested in your foolish and childish squabbles," said Amathoz, "if you disobey those orders, you will face the wrath of a power much darker than mine." Then Amathoz called him with his hand to a window opening at the side of one of the walls. "You see those abandoned buildings and all the people that are homeless?" In just fractions of a second all of the people burst into bits of flesh and blood all of the pieces were splattered against the walls of abandoned buildings, a truly grusome sight for anyone to behold. Then the buildings started to collapse in on themselves leaving nothing but rubble. "That," said Amathoz laughing as weirdly as he did, "is a small preview of the true dark power I posses. Do not worry though, those maggots were suffering as is, I just put them out of their missery. Now go, inform Seth about the small change in plans before he does something reckless, if you have anything to say do so quickly."

"Any objections? I'll give you an objection!" Escher turned so his right side was facing the stranger, and pointed. "OBJECTION!" He then turned back to his original position, and moved his hands as if slamming them on a desk. "While you seem to be knowledgeable about these cards, know that, even in this version Machine Emperor Wisel ∞ still has an Attack value of 2500!" Escher then straightened up. "But beyond your grievous miscalculation, I have nothing to further tie up your turn. Proceed, if you dare."

Kai looked blank for a moment, then realised his mistake. "hehe...my bad. I was thinking of the wrong Meklord, ahehe..." He seemed quite embarrassed to have said the wrong monster's ATK. He proceeded to draw two cards, and the Pot faded away. "Hmm...Guess it's now or never..." He took one of his new cards and activated them. "I activate Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your face-down card!" When the typhoon materialised and headed towards his opponent, Kai finally noticed the holograms were a bit more realistic, as was the wind produced by the MST. "Could it be...?" He questioned.

Escher merely grinned as the stranger activated his spell. "Great minds think alike; open face-down card: Mystical Space Typhoon!" A second cyclone directed itself towards the MST still active on the stranger's field. "My Typhoon destroys yours as it's resolving, which does not negate the destruction of mine! Therefore accomplishing absolutely nothing but delicious irony!" An insane grin was flashed towards the stranger as Escher placed his MST in the Graveyard.

Kai scoweled. 'This guy's smarter than he looks...I was hoping he'd set a more powerful card he'd want to protect...now what do I do...?' Suddenly, he had another idea! He set one of the few Monsters from his hand, "I guess now you've done that I'll have no choice but to set this Monster, and then these 2 Face-Down cards!" He looked at his opponent. 'Something is not right about him...the way he's spoken to me...the way he acts...What is it...?' As he eyed his opponent, he felt like there was someone calling him; Doragon's voice could be faintly heard in his head. However, no sooner had it started when it faded again, and a warped version of his evil form was heard instead; "Kai! My old self couldn't save you! Embrace the darkness in your heart and we will protect you from this wicked being!" Kai thought about it, but decided that he could still win without embracing his darkness. He closed his eyes for a second and said; "I end my turn here."

"So your turn ends." Escher stated. "But now the fun begins!" came Escher's voice, from behind the stranger now. "Am I here? Or am I here? or could I possibly be here?" each time from a different spot. "I love 4-Space! Makes mind games so much easier!" Escher then drew a card from his deck, now back in front of the stranger. "My turn! Draw!" He looked at the card he drew and grinned, then broke into a horrible, evil laugh. "Muahahahahahaha! Continuous magic, activate! Deadly Maze - Cube! Unless you have a response, this will be your DOOM!"

Kai shurgged, this card didn't bother him too much, and why should it? He had just the card ready for later. "Please, continue your move. It's not like I'm going to stop you just yet!" He laughed slightly as he spoke; Mazes? Cubes? Dimensions? This guy was a real laugh. Granted he had a powerful card on the Field, but when all was said and done, Kai would be the victor, he was sure of it. However, without realising it, he'd just given another wicked thought to amplify his other self, which was now getting stronger by the pasing second.

"You seem amused by my card choices. However, I will be the one to have the last laugh, as it were." A low rumbling was heard, as the 'visual effects' of the Cube became manifest. Suddenly, the Duel was occurring inside of a 14 foot cube, with a hatch in the middle of each brightly, but uniformly colored side. "Now this may look like a fun place, but it is exactly what it says on the tin. Now, I'll enter my Battle Phase. Machine Emperor Wisel ∞, attack this stranger's face-down monster!" Wisel raised its blade, now crackling with energy to impale the face-down monster.

The Monster Card flipped face-up as Wisel attacked and a strange Digihuman manifested itself above it; wrapped in bandages and wearing a strange gold ring on its back with 4 level stars on it. When Wisel's attack hit, it at first seemed that the Mummy had been destroyed, however, when the smoke cleared, the card was still intact, and the bandages rematerialised to form the mummy again.
"Sorry to disappoint, but my Digihuman Mummy can't be destroyed by battle, so even if you think you can kill it, it will just reform like most zombies."

"Tch. Well enough. The traps in the Maze will take care of it anyway." Escher glared at the Mummy, then looked back at his Disc. "Can't use that card quite just yet, don't have any others to use, so this will have to do. Turn end." He appeared to be distraught, as the sounds of machinery came from the walls around them. "Not to worry, just the rooms re-arranging for your turn." Soon the sounds stopped, and all 6 hatches opened. "Well, during your Standby Phase, we'll know whether there's a trap."

Kai seemed slightly anxious after being told not to worry. He drew his next card, and then declared; "Since the effect of your maze now activates, it's time to roll the die!" A holographic die appeared in the middle of the field between both players. When it finished spinning, the side on top glowed, creating a strobe-like effect that showed 4 orange dots above them. "Four! THat means my monster is safe for now...Oh, and look at what I just drew..." he revealed a spell card in his hand; the equip spell Synchrotune Ring! "I switch my monster into attack position and activate it's effect; by sending this Synchrotune ring to the graveyardm, I reduce the ATK of one monster on the field to 0 until the end Phase, and I choose...Wisel!" The mummy's odd ring on its back duplicated in a smaller form on his hand. He then threw the ring towards Wisel and the ring constrained it. Kai then took another card from his hand and placed it on a Monster card Zone. "I think I'll then summon another Digihuman to the Field; my Horned Digihuman Tuin!" A Digihuman similar to the mummy appeared on the Field, also with a large ring on its back and 3 level stars surrounding it. "Okay, Battle Phase! My Mummy will attack and Destroy Wisel! GO! WRATH OF ANUBIS!" The mummy ran towards Wisel, its bandages acting like living rope.
During each player's Standby Phase, select and activate 1 of these effects: *This card is treated as a Tuner Monster until the End Phase *Increase the level of this card by 1 *Add 1 "Synchrotune Ring" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. *Equip 1 "Synchrotune Ring" from your hand or Field to this card.
After the result of the die, the duel moved into the room behind them, which was illuminated in a different color. "Managed to avoid the traps this time eh? well, better luck next time." Escher stood with a bored look though the stranger's turn, until the Mummy's effect triggered. "Gah! Reducing Wisel's attack to zero? That's a dirty tactic..." he muttered as Wisel struggled. "Tch, I have no way to block your attack, so I guess this is the end of Wisel!" Escher shouted as Wisel absorbed the impact and exploded, creating a shockwave that pushed Escher back a few feet.

After seeing his opponent get forced back, Kai's worst fears were realised. "I knew it! These aren't just holograms anymore...you're just like Harlingdale...except this time..." unable to keep it completely locked away, the memory of sending Harlingdale to his 'death' forced its way back to his mind. Kai screamed as he remembered, and then fell silent, his head down and his face hidden by his hair which had fallen forward. For a couple of minutes, nothing happened at all, but suddenly silence was broken when Kai began to laugh. At first it seemed innocent, but then when he raised his head it was clear he'd gone completely insane. When he looked directly at Escher, his blood red eyes were now soulless, and he seemed a completely different person. He was now Dark Kai, the embodiment of the darkness within Kai's heart. "Hehe...So, I guess I'll have to kill you, too! I'll have my Horned Digihuman Tuin attack you directly!" Tuin, took all three stars off the ring on its back and created a green ring just like those seen in a synchro summon. The three stars were then fired from the ring directly at Escher. "When this attack is over, I'll end my turn."

Drew held his hand on his cheek where the snake had cut him so that the pain from spreading. He walked out of the room where he gotten punished by Amathoz for someone elses actions. Drew was walking down the street until he saw the same school he was at earlier. He saw seth standing outside. He walked up to him. " You must be seth. Master Amathoz told me to use these stones of yours to turn that girl that's with Yuzaki against him. Whilst your doing that I'm going after his best friend Lucas."

Escher gritted his teeth as the explosion from the stars pushed him back further. "Heh. The fun is just beginning. It's my turn, draw! Proceeding to the Standby Phase..." A die roll produced the number '2'. The duel proceeded into the room to the right. "2, that's a prime number! That means this room is trapped!" Sure enough, after reaching the center of the room, a spray of acid was triggered that would have destroyed one of Escher's monsters, if he had any. "As I have no monsters to target, the effect of Deadly Maze - Cube fizzles." He then looked at his hand, scowled, then sighed. "I'll Set one card face-down, then proceed to the End Phase. In other words, my turn ends!"

Dark Valkyria observed this boy - Track, he said his name was, but from her understanding of nouns it was an odd one for a human to have. "I was aware you were directed here by Yuzaki Kinjo. I have been observing you since a point during your duel with him. It seems you have his trust - or at least his concern, which will make you very useful in bringing my partner and Yuzaki Kinjo into communication.

"I would advise you not to concern yourself with the identity of my partner. You and he will meet soon enough. Now, I require something of you, Track. When Yuzaki Kinjo returns, tell him that his receptionist should have a business card with the phrase - she paused, before coming up with one - "'The Tomb is Open' hand-written on the back. It will have contact details to reach my partner. If Yuzaki arrives before my partner, she will not have a card, but he will be approaching. Do you understand?"

Kai drew another card from his deck, and Sighed. "As I'm the turn player, it's my choice which Standby Phase effects activate first, and I'll choose my Tuin's! I'll use her effect to increase her level by 1. Now, it's time for the die roll again..." He looked up at the die. When it stopped, the result was a painful one for Kai; 3. The maze moved just as it had done before, but this time the floor beneath his monsters rumbled. "Well, I guess I don't need her anymore, so I'll let my Tuin die." a Trap Door appeared beneath Tuin, and she fell down in an almost comical fashion. Kai then moved her card to the Graveyard. "Now that's over, on with the turn, and I think I'll activate my face-down Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy that face-down of yours...it's handy when you draw 2 of them in an opening hand, isnt' it?" The card flipped up and the third tornado from the duel thus far headed towards the face-down card.

"Tch. Lucky." Escher pulled the face-down out of his disc, revealed it, then placed it in his Graveyard. "Lucky that you eliminated Mirror Force. It would have not been fun if you had triggered it, not for you at least. However, you are all out of Cyclones! Whatever would you do if I dropped a Wave-Motion Cannon?" Escher intensified his glare at the Mummy, before looking back to the stranger. "This is what I was talking about. Most people are content to be content, never forcefully altering their place in the world. How boring. You, now... you're interesting now!" This was related in an increasingly maniacal tone.

Kai couldn't help but speak back in the same tone. "Did I not mention? I'm not the same person you were dueling! I'm the manifestation of his inner darkness, and I'm afraid when this is over you'll be nothing but a pile of dust! Now, by removing from play my Digihuman Bandit from my Deck, I can Special Summon the D-Digihuman Bandit that I just drew!" He took the card out and placed it in his deck box again, and then proceeded to summon his monster. Much like Doragon, at first he was normal, but he sudenly transformed into a much more wicked form. "Of course, he can't be removed from the Field by your card effects, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway, but I don't want to lose my mummy just yet!" He smirked and took the Synchrotune Ring Tuin had added to his hand during Escher's standby Phase and placed it in his S/T zone. A ring, identical to the one on the Mummy's back - though much larger - materialised and attached itself to the Mummy. "This ring increases the ATK of my Mummy by 1000 points, and will protect its wearer by destroying itself, anyway. Now, I think it's time to attack you! GO!"
