Yugioh! The Ancient Prophecy... [PG-16]

Atop the Konami building, Kai drew his next card. Before he could do anything, his opponent Christopher Harlingdale interrupted;
"Ah-ah-ah!" He taunted, waving his index finger, "My crush card virus requires me to see all cards you draw for the next 3 turns, and any monster with more than 1,500 ATK is destroyed!" Kai himself had not seen the card. As he inserted it into his spell and trap zone to show Christopher, it seemed luck was not on his side; "I see...Neo-Needleworm? A very weak monster. It's a pity I can't destroy it. Oh, well." Kai took the card back into his hand, and then placed it on his Monster card zone after taking a monster from his Extra Deck and placing it in his graveyard.
"Neo-Needleworm may be a level 5 monster, but I can special summon it from my hand by sending a rank 4 or higher or level 8 or higher monster from my extra deck to the graveyard! As such, I'm sending my Digihuman Level Master to the grave. Now, I will use my face-down Premature Burial! At the cost of 800 life points, I can Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard, and I choose my recently-deceased Digihuman Force Master!"

A strange red cross appeared on the ground, and it opened to reveal the spirit of Digihuman Force Master pulling itself out from the fires of hell. WHen it was completely returned, the cross faded from the ground and instead formed on the chest of the force master, showing the "equip" status. Kai knew he could win now. "The crush card virus onl destroys my monsters the first time you check my field, after that it's fair gain! Now attack and finish him! Force Cannon!" The Digihuman raised up both of its arms, black energy flowing into them from the surrounding air. Finally, the cannons fired the black energy directly at Christopher, who laughed maniacally as the shot approached him. As he was struck and being forced backwards, he said one last thing to himself which Kai could not hear;
"That's it...Now you're going to develop a taste for blood...A taste to kill... If I just leave this here...he'll be able to start his dark path...aaaargh!!" Christopher screamed as the blast eventually threw him off the roof. As the holograms faded, Kai rushed to the roof's edge and looked down. He could barely see Christopher as he fell, but he eventually heard the loud thud and screams from below, and realised what he had done. Meanwhile, behind him, a strange gemstone shaped like the Eye of Anubis began to glow and emit a dark energy which was flowing into Kai, and down below, where the 'body' of Chris had fallen, the 'victim' began to walk away, laughing loudly as he did.
"That was closer than I expected...I almost didn't make the switch in time..." The 'switch' he was referring to seemed clear in Christopher's mind, as a dummy, made to look exactly like himself, lay 'dead' where he had landed.

[OOC: Ranma124, Bottomless Trap Hole removes the destroyed monster from play, so Monster Reborn can't revive Junk Destroyer, because it's not in the Graveyard]

"OK," Suzume replied carefully, "so he has to try and win, but you have to be better than him. I guess that makes sense, as long as this guy after you is completely insane - and that I can somehow believe." She glanced around to see the encroaching darkness, which was being kept away by some light coming from Yuzaki. She moved a little closer to him. "OK, that darkness seems dangerous and you have something to keep it away, so I'll just stick with you."

Dark Valkyria slipped out of her hiding place and out of the school grounds, avoiding the darkness. There were a couple of other people watching from here, and taking up a new hiding place, she listened in on what they were saying. One had only just arrived, and was out of sight from where she was, but seemed to be annoyed at the other one for not awaiting the orders of an "Amothoz" and, so it seemed, watching some kids play a card game. This guy also wanted to defeat Yuzaki. This may be a problem, she decided, glancing back. Her path of retreat was open, so she decided to continue listening. After all, knowledge is power, as more than one influential figure in her existence had told her.

Yuzaki was startled when Suzume moved closer but the stakes were too high to get distracted. As Legionnaire was destroyed it spread out it's wings so the blast could not reach it's master. "I guess now it would be my turn," said Yuzaki, "there is only one thing you forgot to take down my Ravine! Draw!" The air around Yuzaki shifted as he drew his next card, all depended on how this turn played out. Yuzaki could feel a change in his eyes, he could see everything even beyond the darkness and he saw the men. I have to finish this and cause a distraction cause I can't waste more time. To everyone else his eyes looked like the eyes of Horus one yellow as the sun and the other white as the moon bot with an outline of a falcon's eye. As he glanced the card he just drew he smiled. "There's a reason," he said, "that my deck is more complete than any other one, it is because some of my cards have been designed only for me! Now I activate the spell card Dragonic Vortex! When Ravine is on the field I can throw a dice, the number I get is the number of cards I get to throw from my hand and by paying an extra 1000 LP I can choose one card on your side of the field and destroy it!" A green emerald fell in the middle of the floor and started spinning.

The emerald stopped and revealed the number in a flash of light, 3. "Now," said Yuzaki, "I draw three cards from my deck and pay 1000 LP to destroy your Destroyer."
Yuzaki: 8000-2200= 5800LP
Hand: 3
Field: 0
Track: 4000LP
Hand: ?
Field: 0?

Yuzaki looked at the three cards in his hand. I have to end this right now if I want to save him... "All right," said Yuzaki, "the last turn... Discard Brandistock to send to the graveyard Arma Leyvaten. Activate counter Trap Dragon Lockdown! When Leyvaten is in my graveyard I can activate this card from my hand, by paying half my lifepoints effects other than those of cards that list dragunity in their card names or text cannot be activated this turn. Summon Dragunity Dux!" Now Dux materialized in front in a more solid form. Track, I don't know if you can hear my thoughts but even so listen carefully, thought Yuzaki, I'm going to create a distraction after we finish the duel so you can leave because the actual bad guys are right outside the veil. Run as fast as you can to the big tower that says YK Co. Hide there until I go to pick you up and explain everything, don't worry they will let you in. "I equip Dux with my Phalanx," said Yuzaki as he looked at Dux and Dux nodded, "now I remove Dux from play to special summon Leyvaten, when he's summoned I can equip him with Brandistock!" The giant dragon emerged from the ground as it's wing spread out and completely covered the field, then a smaller dragon split in two spears and each spear attached itself to the giant dragon's wings. "Now I attack directly," said Yuzaki, "and because of Brandistock's effect I can attack once more!"

Track was stunned as Yuzaki took down Tracks Junk destroyer. As Yuzaki launched the attack that would finish the duel Track heard Yuzakis voice in his head. It said. "Track, I don't know if you can hear my thoughts but even so listen carefully. I'm going to create a distraction after we finish the duel so you can leave because the actual bad guys are right outside the veil. Run as fast as you can to the big tower that says YK Co. Hide there until I go to pick you up and explain everything, don't worry they will let you in. " Track was knocked off his feat by the final attack but managed to get up and run. He kept running until he got to a building that said YK Co. He walked in and was let in by the women at the counter after he told her he was a friend of Yuzakis. Track waited at the building for Yuzaki to come.

Yuzaki saw Track managed to escape; he noticed the two men were fighting and didn't notice the duel had ended. Yuzaki summoned Dux and Legionnaire which seemed more solid than regular holograms in order to cover Track, Suzume and him so the men could not see where they ran off to. As Yuzaki ran he used his dueldisk to send a message to his company, "A small redheaded kid is going there, hide him in my office until further notice." Yuzaki pulled Suzume while they re-entered the school; "There are two men outside that are armed and dangerous," said Yuzaki to the guard at the gate, "don't let them in." the guard nodded and kept his revolver drawn, high security for a high school. Yuzaki and Suzume entered the classroom, luckily there was still a couple of minutes before class started. Yuzaki saw more duel spirits and could sense a dark aura from the teacher and some of the students. He looked at another student who was sitting in the middle of three students that had this dark vibe around them. He turned back to the hallway and sat on the floor, he was not sure if Track or Suzume had noticed the change in his eyes but Dux had really noticed this. Are you going to tell me Dux? He thought so Suzume and the other spirits didn't overhear them. I don't know, said Dux; it's different and I'm not sure what that was. Then Yuzaki had another flashback and seemed to completely fall to the ground and his eyes remained open.

Tutankhamen walked through an incredibly enormous hallway. A man in white and gold robes approached him and bowed. "My pharaoh," said the man, "I am pleased to inform you that the Duat gate has been closed." Tutankhamen was certain that this man was lying but he played along. "Thank you Amathoz," said Tutankhamen, " I'm sure you did well." The man bowed again this time his face was visible, he had the same eyes that were floating behind Track minus the third one which was most likely covered by the bandana on Amathoz's head. "My lord," he spoke again, "may we speak later, more privately?" Tutankamen already knew what Amathoz was planning. "Of course," said Tutankhamen, "the Hig Priest is always welcome to speak in my chamber." Tutankhamen waited for Amathoz to arrive and was speaking to someone who was not visible. "Horus," he said, "lend me your power in order to imprison this traitor in the Duat, if anything should happen in the future please reawaken that power inside of me." Amathoz entered the room, his third eye completely unvonvered enveloping the room in complete darkness; he summoned many monsters to his aid and they attacked Tutankhamen but a winged man blocked the attacks. Tutankhamen's eyes changed exactly like Yuzaki's did and a necklace around his neck started glowing as well. "Amathoz, high priest of the pharaonic guard," said Tutankhamen raising his hand, "you betray all of Egypt and the world by serving Apophis... Apophis I now speak to you through the eye you implanted on this man, your plan shall not succeed. Amathoz, you wished to bring back the Duat Challenges, you shall be banished to the Duat!" He brought down his hand and a beam of light slashed Amathoz vertically in half, another slashed him horizontally in half. "With the power of the son of Ra I strip your soul and destroy your human form!" Light enveloped the whole room and Yuzaki woke up again, sweating and ghasping for air. It was not a pretty sight considering he was still on the floor and Suzume was looking at him frightened, apparently he wasn't just laying on the floor the whole time I seemed like he was shaking or something. Time passed differently because it was still a couple of minutes before class would start. "Amathoz," he said panting, "his name is Amathoz..."

Escher stopped digging through his bag and turned to face Drew. "If simply keeping tabs on young Master Yuzaki is against Amathoz's orders, then why are you here as well?" He turned back to his bag to continue trying to free his Disc from some sort of rope. "Arg. Stupid thing. Anyways, even if it were time, I would not go directly after our primary adversary. What fun is that? Locating Yuzaki merely allows me to target the other 'chosen ones' more easily, as they will congregate around their leader. Turning his loyal allies and friends against him, or at least removing them from the picture, is likely to sink him into total despair, making our total victory more possible." Escher finished untangling his Disc and, after checking it and his cards for damage, strapped it to his arm, just after the losing duelist bolted off in some direction.

Kai felt his stomach lurch and twist as he looked down the building's edge. He'd never killed someone before, but now there would be no denying it; he was a murderer. He'd sent a rich and powerful man - maybe not completely innocent - to his death. He began to argue with himself out loud;
"B-But those were just holograms - nobody would believe I could cause him to fall! But, then...Why would he have been so close to the edge unless I made him by scaring him with the holograms...?!" The argument went on and on. Suddenly, all was quiet, and Kai's attention turned to the strange pendant behind him. It seemed like it was calling out to him, asking him to wear it. "But that's absurd", he thought, "pendants don't speak." Nonetheless, he picked it up and tied the thin chain around his neck. Once the oendant rested against his chest, he realised it was a mistake he'd regret for some time.

As if he were being controlled by another being, an unknown force which was stronger than his own, draining his willpower, Kai rose to his feet and felt suggestions be implanted into his mind; You just comitted perhaps the worst crime of all; the theft of life...That darkness will never go away now....let it grow...let in consume you....that's it... The voice of these thoughts seemed oddly familiar to Kai, but he was so preoccupied with listening and obeying, he could not realise the voice was that of his opponent. With a strange aura now being emitted from him, Kai turned and began to walk into the lift and pressed the "G" button on his left. It took a couple of minutes for the lift to make it to the ground floor, and when he did make it he walked out of the building without making a sound. The blonde girl receptionist did attempt to ask where he was going, however when she was met with no response she simply went back to fondling the money she had received from Mr. Harlingdale. Outside of the building, Kai was heading towards a backstreet, where even in the middle of the day there was very little light. It was a known fact that gangs like to hang out there and mug passers-by, and Kai, now in the complete posession of the darkness his first 'kill' had made, he was being driven to try again. In the alleyway, he saw a whole gang of teenage boys, some older and some younger than himself. Each one was dressed in a typical gangster style, and it seemed Kai had interrupted them in the middle of beating up a poor business man. While the gang were distracted, the man quickly ran away.
"Who's the heck are ya?" Asked the tallest and fattest of the gang, evidently the leader. He brandished a large knife, somewhere between a Kitchen Knife and a Katana, and Kai smirked.
"Who am I...?" His voice seemed warped now as the darkness was in control of him. He raised his left arm and activated his duel disk. "Just someone who wants to rid the world of its impurities and then create a new world where the strongest and best survive!" The gang leader laughed out loud as he saw the duel disk and proceeded to ridicule Kai.
"Ooooh~! I'm so scared! Look out, g's! He's gonna try to hurt us using dumb bits of cardboard!" Just as he let the last word out, Kai took out several cards from his Extra Deck and placed them on the Disk;
"Don't be so quick to ridicule! Come forth, my best monsters; Digihuman Sealgainer, Digihuman Seal-Healer, Digihuman Seal-Guard, Digihuman Seal-Blaster and Digihuman of the Seal!" When the cards hit the Monster Card Zones, they each appeared around the gang. However, something was different about them all; whereas before, they had seemed to be 'normal', they now each emitted the same strange aura as Kai, and they each beared darker clothing to normal. Once they had surrounded the gang, they each emitted a strange force which created three green circles and Enochian letters around them, as well as a Unicursal Hexagram to appear. It mattered not to Kai, though, as this always happened when they were all in play and held no real importance to him. However, thanks to the power of the Digihuman of the Seal he took yet another five cards, this time from his main deck, and placed them in the spell and trap zones; the first was Doragon, now much darker in appearance, then the Level Manipulator, also clad in darker clothing. The bandit and Digihuman Martoir, the ballroom dancer Digihuman, were the next two to appear, and finally came a Digihuman not yet used; Meistermind the Wicked, who was always evil and thus the only one not affected by Kai's dark side taking over.
"Eh, watz?!" Cried out one of the gang members in shock. He'd never seen something so creepy. The leader cut him off;
"Don't mess with me, bruv! These are just holo's, innit?" Despiute putting on the tough act, he was quite clearly scared as well. Kai's aura started to become visible to the gang, and he laughed a truly evil laugh.
"If you think these are holograms, why not try leaving?" The gang members all ran towards the edges of the circle, but were knocked back. "These fellas won't let you leave...until I've had them kill you! ATTACK!" With the command given, each of the Sealed Digihumans rushed towards one or more gang members and proceeded to 'destroy' them. The other five monsters, with the exception of Meistermind, however, hesitated before carrying out their attacks. Doragon tried to plead with his master alongside the Bandit;
"Please, sir! Don't...Don't make u-us do it! We beg of you! You're not in your right mind right now!" Doragon's words were being slowed as his body began to be forced to move against its will. Kai shook his head and commanded that they continue. Unable to resist, the four monsters that resisted all transformed into pure evil versions of themselves that proceeded to tear the gang member survivors apart limb from limb, with their master watching and laughing. When the deed was done, Kai smiled and deactivated his duel disk. The monsters all faded and the circles with them. He walked out of the alleyway as normally as possible, his new pendant now in full control of him and the darkness that had consumed Kai in a matter of about an hour.

Suzume was getting lost; events were happening a bit too quickly to keep up. Once Yuzuki had pulled her into the school, and they could head to class in safety, she went through it again. The boy was someone from that prophecy about Yuzaki, whilst the two men outside the gate were apparently after them. There was also something about Yuzaki's eyes that seemed out of place, but she couldn't work out what it was. She shook her head to clear it as she entered the classroom, and then did a double-take, because there were several things out of place. First, they had a new teacher. Second, a girl she hadn't seen before who had a duel spirit, and the third - an adult man, who had to be at least 30, but who didn't look anything like a teacher, sat in the back of the room. Shrugging, she headed over to her regular seat and began to use the little time she had left, thanks to Yuzaki's card game, to get out her things.

Dark Valkyria decided to follow the boy who had just run out of the school, but was able to catch what one of the observers said. So they are after all of us she noted, I suppose that makes them our enemies, and "Amathoz" is their superior. She followed the boy as he ran until he went into a building with "YK Co." on the side. She followed him in, noting that being a friend of Yuzaki got him past the reception desk, and to where he was waiting. She glanced around, looking for the little orange figure she thought she'd seen with him.
"I would advise you move further into this building," she told the boy, "if they followed you, that woman will not be able to prevent them passing her for very long."

Track was waiting in YK Co. Track was relaxing doing nothing until suddenly a starnge figure came into the room. He listened to what it had to say. It said something about people might of followed him and that he should go further into the building. Track looked at the duel spirit and as he walked deeper into the building he began to talk. " Thanks for the advice. By the way who are you and why are you helping me." Track wasnt to sure if it was a good idea to follow the duel spirit. But he decided that he might aswell seeing that it helped him out just then.

Drew looked at Escher and smiled. " Well actually i have as much right to be here as Yuzaki does. I used to live here you know." Drew then noticed that all of the kids went into the school building. He also noticed that a red haired kid had run past them. Drew thought for a moment. He knew that that kid was a part of the prophecy seeing that he was dueling Yuzaki. Drew once again looked at Escher. " Okay heres how it is. We can either both go after Yuzaki or both go after That red haired boy. Or one of us can go to a one of them."

Lucas, who had been off in his own little world for the past few well...sine he woke up really, had finally come to his own senses apon seeing his friend on the floor shaking. He shook his head as he walked over to where Yuzaki and Suzume were, a worried look on his face for his friend. "Dude, you ok?" He asked as he looked to Yuzaki and Suzume, and before either could answer he was talking again. "Oh man, you should have seen it this morning. Two on one duel, I didn't take part in it, but it was awesome. Guy was out matched by the other two, but somehow managed to pull a win out from behind and totally stomped his opponents." He chuckled but then returned his attention to Yuzaki. "Hey...why you on the floor dude?"

Escher finished fastening his Disc to his arm. "But weren't you just telling me that it isn't time yet? That we must wait for a couple more days? I am here to locate a way in to the school without the guards seeing, in order to go after Yuzaki's friends, and hopefully, turn them against him. You've said it yourself: 'Amothoz said to wait for his orders.' I can't think of any more reason to not go in yet. Or do you want to face the wrath of our lord and master?" Escher then looked around, as if searching. "Did you hear something? Like wings? Well, it doesn't matter. I will continue to study the school's 'defenses', and acquire some 'supplies', then return when ordered." Escher turned and walked away, in the direction of the city hall.

"I'm planting daisies because the floor is a little dull," said Yuzaki annoyed with Lucas, "what do you think I'm doing? I had another one of those episodes" He got up and noticed Suzume entered the classroom and was organizing her stuff. He looked at Lucas who was seemed concerned because he had never seen Yuzaki act that way, he always seemed so cheerful and happy. "I'm sorry man," said Yuzaki, "there's been a lot lately and I am really collapsing under such stress, a kid is hiding in my building because some guys were apparently going after him and myself, maybe even you and Suzume." He lowered his head, so many people were in danger because of him, if he knew that building a dueldisk would cause all of this, he would have never created it. The bell rang and he and Lucas entered the room and sat at there usual seats; Lucas, Suzume and Yuzaki all together, the trio as sometimes Yuzaki would call them but this all ended when the prophecy entered each of their lives. I got a weird vibe coming from that new teacher, thought Yuzaki to Dux, Don't let her see you, I don't trust her... Yuzaki was slowly regaining some of the powers he had acquired when he was Tutankhamen, specifically the ability to be able to detect anyone who tried to disguise themselves as other people or lie to others.

You fools! The pharaoh is onto your ruse, there is a reason he knew I was trying to kill him. Even my eye could not influence him! He is not someone that is easy to fool. Retreat quickly, I will explain everything we are going to do in order to overthrow my ex-lord/pharaoh. If you do not return by the end of the day, if Tutankhamen does not kill you... I will. Yuzaki could hear this message even if it was meant only for people who apparently were followers of Amathoz. This complicated things, Yuzaki now knew there were more following him and most likely those two dark men were also followers of Amathoz. In his room he also felt this dark vibe but he could not pinpoint who had it, apparently there were more than two with the same dark vibe. Then he could see Amathoz walking through a majestic temple hallway with doors on each side. His white robes had changed to black robes in the present, as he passed servants who were apparently just that bowed and cowered back into the rooms as Amathoz passed each room. "I cannot believe these people would disobey my orders," said Amathoz speaking to a globe that floated in the middle of a room which only had one entrance, "it does not matter my lord, I will give them a small punishment but not enough to kill them." The globe started glowing red and a snake like eye appeared on it. "You are not growing soft are you slave?!" The voice was very nerve wreaking it was a mixture of a snake hissing and scratching a chalkboard even Amathoz cowered. "No my lord," said Amathoz, "it is only that I cannot afford to lose more servants, they must remain alive to be able to search out the other chosen ones." The globe spoke again, "And what about lord Tutankhamen," he gave a raspy laugh as if this was a joke, "have you located him?" "Most of my servants eventually located him but I called them back." answered Amathoz, Yuzaki never thought Amathoz could look so helpless. "Good," said the voice, "good. Remember only I can kill the pharaoh, do not allow your servants to do so; if they even challenge him, remove their soul and bring it to me, I will make sure they suffer for all eternity." He gave a raspy laugh that sent chills down Yuzaki's spine, it was as if he was really there. "I feel the presence of someone else in this room," said the voice and Yuzaki was startled, could they feel him even if he was so far? "My young pharaoh!" continued the voice, "how nice of you to join us, but I'm afraid you will have to leave." Red light engulfed the room and Yuzaki returned to his normal state. Things were turning from bad to worse!

Escher stopped walking and winced as Amathoz yelled inside of his head. "Tch. Retreat? For what purpose? I did not intend to attack just yet and violate orders. If that obsessive fool had not drawn attention to us-" Escher muttered under his breath as he resumed his walk towards the city hall where hopefully the blueprints of the school were on file. "I can examine those building plans for a defensive weakness on the way back. Always better to be prepared." He passed several large office buildings and avoided a large crowd at the base of one.

"You are an associate of Yuzaki Kinjo," Dark Valkyria told the child, floating just above the ground as he followed him through the building, "and you are at risk from his enemies. Thus, you and mister Kinjo are likely not enemies, which makes you of use to me in contacting him. What is your name, child," she then asked him, "and exactly what is the nature of your relationship with Yuzaki Kinjo?" If you are an ally of Kinjo, then it would be more difficult for us should you be captured by his enemies, so ensuring your safety is ultimately of value for us as well, she added to herself.

Suzume glanced sideways at Yuzaki. He seemed to have recovered from his sudden collapse, although he still seemed worried about something. He'd seemed worried about something or other since he'd created those duel disks and that prophecy had shown up, at least in her opinion, but this time it somehow felt as if things were far more serious. It also seemed to be connected to the duel spirits, since hers was sheltering behind her right leg. The first chance she got - after meeting the new girl - she'd have to find out what it was all about.

Harlingdale had just returned to his mansion when he heard the call in his mind. 'I knew he'd catch on, but I wasn't expecting it to be this quick...Unless...' He paused in deep thought for a moment, and then realised; 'of course! Some of the others must have gone after the Pharaoh...Mindless fools. THough I bet Amathoz will still want my head if he finds out about my little escapade...' Eventually, he decided on a course of action and proceeded to his vast collection of cards. This time, he placed all of his old deck into a "sorting slot", which would separate and return each card to its original place in the drawers. Christopher then proceeded to filter. "My virus deck really didn't do as well as I'd hoped...I guess I'll have to go with something more powerful...like these..." When the filters were set, a new set of cards were pushed out and collected by Chris. After shuffling his new deck, he decided to do a test draw at his coffe table, swiftly after closing the portrait.

Christopher placed the new deck on the table. "Okay, let's see how much better this one does..." He picked up 6 cards and looked. "let's see now...Not bad...with this, all I need is play Toon World...then summon my two Mermaids...then summon Blue-Eyes! Excellent, much better!" He smiled and placed the Deck in his duel disk. Then, after a long sigh, he rose to his feet and proceeded to walk to the temple to face Amathoz.

Back in the streets, Kai was wandering aimlessly around the city. Everyone was trying to avoid him; his mind was showing signs of insanity induced by shock from committing murder, even when not in control of himself, and as a result he was muttering to himself and moving in a way reminiscent of a zombie.
"I killed people...I killed people...What was I thinking? I can't turn back now..." He muttered so fast nobody could catch what he was saying. At the same time as he was having the said thoughts, the pendant's dark energy seemed to be growing, damaging Kai's mind even more. When Kai reached the city hall, he finally snapped and screamed a truly horrific scream, scaring people away from him. Kai's true mind started to regain some control in the chaos, and realised when this strange corruption had begun. Kai raised his right arm to his neck and ripped the pendant off, and then threw it into a nearby fountain. As soon as the pendant was completely submerged, his amplified darkness dulled and he returned to normal - as much as he could. With his mind back to its old sane self, Kai could truly think about the events that had just occurred; his defeat of an opponent had caused him to fall to his death, and then under a strange influence he wound up murdering a group of people, some of which may have been innocent. Remorse began to well up inside and his eyes became tear-filled. Finally, he collapsed face-down onto the floor, unconsciously crying for what he had done.

Finally, Escher arrived at the city hall. He looked around for anyone who may have followed him, but there was only the usual bustle of people, each absorbed in their own problems and many attempting to be as far away from him as possible. Usual, until someone released a bloodcurdling scream and threw something into the fountain, then fell over, as if fainted. "Hn. I need to hurry and return in order to avoid destruction, but I noticed an interesting 'aura' from that man. Ah well, it won't take more than a few minutes to check it out, and whatever it was that he made a wish in the fountain with." Escher spoke under his breath as he changed course for the prone body of this strange person.

Kai slowly started to regain consciousness as Escher approached, however in order to protect itself his mind had attempted to seal away his memories. Without any strength to move, though, Kai was only able to slowly open his eyes. Once he became fully aware of everything around him, his deck glowed slightly, and the duel spirits of Doragon and Bandit, still in their dark forms, materialised nearby. Despite their dark look, it seemed their personalities had reverted to normal.
'Bandit...What do you think did this to Kai?' Doragon seemed worried as he spoke. Bandit shook his head.
'At best, I can only assume it has something to do with that Harlingdale man; he seemed to be the cause of that 'shadow game'-like duel.'
'Hmm...He said something about Kai being a "prophesied Duelist"...Could it have something to do with his past lives?' Bandit didn't respond at once; he was still considering possible forms of action.
'Maybe...But I think our main concern will be protecting Kai. That's our job, and now he has a lot more to be protected from...' Both spirits nodded in agreement and approached Kai. They reached out their hands (or wing in Doragon's case) and touched Kai's head. As they did, they faded away, giving the appearance to be absorbed by Kai.
Now, we'll protect his mind...as best we can.

Meanwhile, Harlingdale reached the temple and changed out of his guise, returning to his true self as Seth. He looked inside the main chamber, but didn't see Amathoz, and so walked further in, calling;
"Hello~? Master Amathoz? Where are you?"

"The factor? I could swear something merged with that guy. Well, to find out what his 'wishing coin' was." Escher fished around in the fountain and retrieved a strange pendant. "Well that explains the 'aura' I noticed." He turned around to face the fallen man. "Hello! Are you awake? I was just wondering what you wished for! You see, traditionally people throw coins or valuables into wells or fountains to receive what they desire. No no no, don't tell me, that would just invalidate it, especially if you wished to rid your self of this!" Escher dangled the pendant in front of the collapsed person's nose. "You see, I find you interesting. You at first seemed to have a dark 'aura' surrounding you, but this! It seems that this item you discarded is very interesting as well. I don't know why you ever would have gotten rid of it! At the moment, you are a boring person half passed out in my way. But with THIS! This made you interesting! It could make you interesting again! Why don't you be interesting again? Or would you like me to forcibly remove you from my path?"

Yuzaki sat in the room wondering about everything that had happened, he was never one to pay attention in class even if he was the top student. He was waiting for lunch time to come and was very anxious for it. As he looked around he saw the new girl with a spirit, I'll have to speak with her at lunch time I guess. Dux and Phalanx had made sure to remain hidden so whoever the dark follower(s) in the room was it would be more difficult to locate Yuzaki... Well with his face on the news it would be difficult not to recognize but better safe than sorry. Maybe if I can just concentrate a bit I can see what Amathoz's seeing, just got to be careful he doesn't sense my presence again or whatever that red orb was. He closed his eyes and started concentrating and suddenly he was back in the same room that he was before but this time he concealed his self better than before.

Amathoz was still speaking with the orb when he heard someone call his name. "I'm so sorry my lord," said Amathoz to the orb, "I will take care of this wretched servant who does not seem to know about time." The orb dimmed and finally shut completely and the only light in the room came from the outside door. Amathoz exited the room and went to the grand hallway, slowly and with each step small snake-like monsters appeared on the floor, slithering across Amathoz's robes making an even more terrifying appearance. When he saw the single servant called Seth-Bes he suddenly winced with anger, interrupting a very private conversation and having the name of an enemy at the same time! "Early I see," said Amathoz, "what's this though?" said Amathoz walking closer and closer, millions of little snakes slithering at the base of Amathoz's robes, to Seth which may have made him feel uncomfortable. Then, Amathoz did something unexpected he took his hand and passed it right in the body of Seth and back out. It did not seem to leave physical injury, only passing through like if Amathoz's hand was a ghost, but from Seth's reaction it must have hurt. "Yes," said Amathoz, 'your sould was a little unattached for a moment." Amathoz looked at Seth straight in the eyes, "You lost against someone during a Duat Challenge" said Amathoz with a grave tone in his voice that made him seem darker than he already was, "against my orders. Well, you have proven faithful so your life will be spared... I have even taken the liberty of putting your soul back together and the pain it gave you seemed a good enough punishment." He laughed but his laugh did not seem to have any type of emotion at all, it was a strange type of laughter. "Now then," said Amathoz, "since you are so keen to get started I have one person you will go after, Suzume Hiyashi." He took one of the little snakes an watched it spin around his hand and burst into flames on his command. "Eliminate her," he continued, "she is key to Yuzaki, take her out and he will crumble; Tutankhamen will also follow. She is the reincarnation of Tutankhamen's queen, mistress Ankhsenamun."He could tell that Seth had a lot on his mind and let him speak. "I am terribly sorry," said Amathoz in a manner that may have been considered sarcastic or not it was all very confusing, "please tell me what is bothering you, what do you wish to say to your master?"

[OOC: To clear things up so PPlaying is not thought of in this post; Seth could not dodge this because it was unexpected and actually necessary for the post as this is how Amathoz knows he was dueling and fixes Seth's soul.]

Track looked at the duel spirit. " Well im Track. Nice to meet you." The duel spirit then asked Track what his relationship with Yuzaki was. Track thought for a moment. " Well i owe Yuzaki my life. He once saved me from getting run over from a car. I came her searching for him so i can help and protect him, but things didnt go as planned so Yuzaki told me to come here and wait for him to come and pick me up." Track then realised something. " Who are you. Seeing that your a duel spirit whos your duelist. Because your definately not mine. I dont have any monsters like you in my deck." Track stopped walking for while waiting for the duel spirit to answer him.
Drew heard the voice of Amathoz in his head. " Great. Now he thinks that weve gone and done something." Drew sighed. " Oh well better get going." Drew got to the place where he had started off. The place where Amathoz was. He saw that another one of Amathozs servants was already there and that Amathoz was telling him to go after some girl. Drew looked at Amathoz. " Master Amathoz. I have come on your orders. How may i be of your assitstance." Drew didnt know what would happen to him. He still manged to keep his cool, as he waited for Amathoz to tell him what was going to happen.

[[OOC: I understand fully. I was expecting something of the sort]]

Seth was still wincing in pain, and fell to his knees in order to speak. "I-I just wanted to apologise for my actions, my lord - that individual is somebody who just doesn't truly die...If I may explain; in the ten millenia I've been living, I must have encountered the same individual with only minor differences roughly 132 times now. I'm sure he keeps reincarnating, and the fact is he always becomes a valuable asset to me..." He took out a pendant from his pocket, identical to the one left on the rooftop. "These things have the power to enhance someone's inner darkness, which means they can easily commit evil acts like murder without even thinking. To make it better for us, the wearer becomes susceptable to the person who left them the item, and anyone superior..." Seth rose back to his feet and gave a malicious smile. "In other words, if he wears it, we'll be able to control him through suggestion." He bowed in front of his master before turning and leaving. "And as for this 'Suzume'...Very well. I shall eliminate her as you wish." He closed the door behind him before heading off, in the guise of Harlingdale. As he walked into the city, he made a few considerations. 'Hmm...Where could I find this Suzume character? I don't even know what age she is...but if she's the queen of the Pharaoh, then it's likely she'll be about school age...'

Kai had just about completely regained consciousness, and was now sitting up on the floor, wiping away blood from a cut he'd made on impact. As he watched the Pendant and looked at the stranger, he felt as though he was being done a favour, as all memories regarding the pendant were now well-hidden. He stood up, reached out to take the pendant, and was abut to say "thank you", when suddenly his eyes changed colour and he recoiled slightly. His blood-red eyes had now become a jet-black left eye and bright red right eye, which were, unbeknownst to Escher, the eye colours of the two duel spirits that had vowed to protect Kai. Instead of the "thank-you" Kai was about to say, he suddenly shouted "No WAY!" and slapped Escher's hand in the direction of the fountain, freeing the pendant and sending it flying again. His next words were, though hard to notice, triple-toned; while the most audible was Kai's own voice, there was a hint of a more sophisticated voice and another hint of a slightly rougher voice. "You're just like Mr. Harlingdale! You're working for an evil force, aren't you?!" It seemed clear this wasn't Kai, but whoever it was, they were aware of Amathoz and his plans, even if only partially.

Escher recoiled a few inches when the pendant was slapped out of his hand. "Hasn't anyone told you that refusing gifts is rude?" he scolded the person who now was sitting up. "You seem... different now. And not the different that that pendant gave you. Someone or something is controlling you..." Escher walked over and grabbed the pendant again, then looked at the Duel Disc on the sitting person's arm. "I'll hold on to this until you are willing to be more grateful. And I see that you too are a duelist. What sort of cards do you use? I would sincerely like to know." Escher had frowned a bit at the mention of 'Mr. Harlingdale' but made no further visible notice of the name. "You mentioned 'evil forces'? Well, yes, my actions could potentially be described as 'evil', but can the same not be said of anyone? But beside the point, I have a proposition for you: Join me in helping to destroy the world. It's not like anyone really needs, it, what with the whole multiversal-" Escher suddenly stopped, made a face, then continued speaking. "I've said a little too much, but what is your decision on my proposal?"

Kai's face changed from solemn to angry. He'd found someone else behind the strange evil...and the pendant. "No. Way." He said slowly and clearly. Even the real Kai wouldn't be able to completely agree with such a proposal on his own, anyway. He raised his left arm and duel disk as a form of threat, however he knew that this could be interpreted as a challenge. 'And if this guy is like the last...Those monsters could become real...'. Doragon and Bandit shared these thoughts, and knew thoughts of the duel - at least until the end of it - should be fine for their protectorate to remember.However, just as they were letting their guard slip slightly as they considered what to do with Kai now, they were forced out of his mind by Kai's own. He trembled slightly as he returned to normal, but he stil seemed conscious of everything he'd just said. Behind him, Doragon and the bandit appeared for a brief moment, before disappearing into Kai's deck.

The man was standing now, and raised his Disc in addition to refusing Escher's offer. "It seems that you picked door number 2! And the prize is... oblivion." Escher raised his own disc, checked his cards, and turned back to the angry man. "Lets see, you're not very talkative, so I'm flying blind. Wait, is there something behind...? Never mind. You are an obstacle in my path, and you will be removed by force!" Escher powered his Disc, then set out his fist. "Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine first turn? Wait, wrong version. Anyway, Stand up the Vanguard! Sorry, wrong game. Let's Duel!"

(As Escher doesn't have a 'force' option on his Disc, Kai can still walk away, or something.)

Yuzaki was still in school waiting for lunch time and had decided not to continue trying to tap into Amathoz's mind. He was very anxious because he knew Track was in his building and he was not sure if he had already been told about the underground escape tunnel system... Well duh! Thought Yuzaki, Only I know about those tunnels no one can tell him, so if the guys follow him and security doesn't hold them back... Well I covered his escape pretty good so it's very unlikely that they'll find him. "Yuzaki," said the teacher, "perhaps you can give us the answer to this problem." On the board was a very complex Calculus equation that the teacher just made to stomp the students since they were still taking Pre-Calculus but Yuzaki snapped out of his day dream looked at the board, went up to grab the chalk and gave the answer, "In order for the circuit to work correctly: dR/dt = (R1*R2 / R1*(R1 + R2)) 2dR1/dt
= (R2 / (R1 + R2)) 2dR1/dt" Yuzaki then returned to his desk and lowered his head to rest a little, while the teacher remarked that the answer was indeed correct.

Amathoz looked at Drew curiously, another one arriving earlier than expected. "My young servant," said Amathoz again in a sarcastic or maybe non sarcastic manner, "it is a fortune that you arrived when you did." Amathoz opened his third eye which implanted gruesome images on Drew's mind in order for a punishment. "I am sorry," said Amathoz this time sarcasm was very present, "I must punish everyone who arrives now, since some have gone against my orders all must pay the price..." Amathoz closed his eye and stopped transmitting the images, the images transmitted vary from person to person reenacting the toughest and saddest moments in a person's life. "Now," said Amathoz, "find the servant who just left, Seth, and tell him to use those stones to control mistress Ankhsenamun... He can use any method necessary to do so; though I can control anyone and have no use for those stones, they may prove useful for some of the ones who have more protection because of their relation with the pharaoh." Amathoz then looked at Drew again and noticed that he seemed troubled or different somehow, maybe he had hit a soft spot with the memories. "My dear boy," he said and the snakes started crawling up Amathoz's robes only to disappear halfway up, "Is there something you wish to speak to me about?" Amathoz wondered and without letting him answer he suddenly thought. "Of course!" Exclaimed Amathoz, "you will go after Tutankhamen's brother, if I'm not mistakened he goes by the name of Lic-Lucas in this life; strange humans with even stranger names in this time." Amathoz walked back to his thrown and sat down, then he noticed that Drew remained where he was. "Ask what you want," said Amathoz seeming a little annoyed, "after that leave my presence!" The last exclamation echoed through the temple, it would make even the bravest man cower in fear. Then he smiled very eerily and spoke once again in a very obvious sarcastic tone, "I am sorry, please tell me what is on your mind."
