Frankly Ah think the biggest threat to the girl's privacy is ye, Yuzaki, Don noted to himself, before walking up and opening the door to the room he was directed to. "Well then laddies," he said, turning back as Dark Valkyria went inside, "ah'll see ye in the mornin'." With that, he closed his door, leaving the boys alone in the corridor. He dropped his bags into the closet without opening them, and crashed onto the bed.

"So what now?" his spirit asked, her voice low to prevent anyone evesdropping outside the door from hearing, "you bag stuff up."
"Ye forget, lassie, ah'm no crook. Ah dinna take things, ah make people want ta give 'em to me. It's a big difference. Noo, ye get some rest."

"I don't sleep."

"Mebbe no', but ye do have tha' unconscious phase thing, and ah dinna wan ye te go without rest."

Don himself, however, did not go to sleep for some time, instead leaning on the headboard, turning over the knife he had pocketed earlier in his hand, thinking.

Suzume turned a key, and the door locked with a satisfying clunk. "Good," she said, "I'm in a house with a bunch of guys, at least I can have privacy in here. She turned back to the room, where the three spirits that had appeared stood, lined up as though for inspection.

"OK," she said, "so, do I have to risk my life for the rest of you to show up, or is there a safer way to do it?"

Track watched as both Suzume and Lucas went off to the rooms which they would usually sleep in when they stayed over at Yuzakis house. Track followed Yuzaki to Track and Dons room. Track listened to what Yuzaki was saying about where to find everyone else's room and how he should never open Suzumes door. Track looked at his room then looked at Yuzaki. "I know I said that i didn't know much about girls but I do know that you shouldn't open people's doors. Anyway we better get to sleep. Oh by the way Im gonna need some sort of pyjama or something. There's no way I'm sleeping in these."

Yuzaki sensed that Don was having some weird thought but he didn't make much of it. "Well, goodnight then Don," said Yuzaki and then turned towards Track, "that's true Track. However, I am nostalgic and I do have some PJ's from when I was about your age, I think they'll fit you just fine. That's why I gave you that room, it was my old room." He smiled a bit but then his smile slowly faded as he started to remember what he saw and looked around towards everyone's room, even if some weren't visible at a glance. We're all together but I have a bad feeling, thought Yuzaki, something bad is coming. Then he returned his gaze at Track and spoke up once more. "Well I hope you like it," said Yuzaki trying to avoid attention of his spacing out for a minute, "it's pretty big, the bathroom and closet are both inside so don't worry about that. Also, all rooms are connected via a radio link so if you need me or something just use that if you don't want to walk all the way to my room. Just press the button that says #1."
Lucas had already laid down in his bed and checked his deck. "Cybers," he said slowly, "this deck has helped me a lot; let's just hope it works well against Amathoz's guys." He then walked to the door to see if Yuzaki's door was opened or if there was any trace that he had already entered his room, there wasn't. "I wonder if Yuzaki is going to do the same routine he does when there's school," said Lucas sighing, "he thinks this is a military camp or something, sometimes." As he laid down back in the bed, a strange creature appeared beside him but did not speak. Lucas did not notice his presence and kept on listening to music while checking his deck unable to sleep as always.

Track yawned then began to wave at Yuzaki whilst he opened the door to his room. "Well good night Yuzaki. I guess I'm gonna see you tomorrow. See ya."Track walked into the room then looked around. He saw a huge closet and thought that the pyjamas were most likely in there. Track walked up to the closet and opened it. He saw a few different Pyjamas but decided to take the one that was red with pictures of the back of duel monster cards. Track changed into the pyjama and after placing his deck on the side table and putting his duel disk in the closet he laid down in the bed. Then his deck glowed and Junk Synchron appeared. "Oh hey buddy. How are ya. This is like the first time I've slept in a proper bed for a while now. So we better get some rest." Junk Synchron smiled then disappeared. Track closed his eyes and fell to sleep.

Yuzaki just gave a small wave as Track entered his room. He looked around and thought of his friends and the impending danger. "This is all going to change," he said to himself quietly, "all of my friends... I'll have to sacrifice myself if I want to let them live. That's the true meaning of the prophecy." He was very mournful at the moment as he walked towards his room stopping in front of each room with a thoughtful look. He looked at Suzume's room which was the last one before his own and spoke quietly. "Suzume," he said slowly and sort of mournfully, "I have always wanted to tell you-" He stopped and shook his head, it wasn't the right time just yet and it would be better to be actually face-to-face. Walking slowly he entered his room, forgetting to lock it as always. He took off his jacket and hanged it up on one of the bed posts, staying only with the green shirt he had underneath, and laid down his dueldisk and deck on his bed. Then he slowly made his way to the balcony where he usually went to gather his thoughts looking solemnly at the full moon which made the night sky shine brilliantly. Dux and Phalanx appeared next to him and now Legionnaire decided to make an appearance. "My lord," said Legionnaire with an imposing rough voice, holding his fist up to his chest and kneeling, "what is your condition; you do not seem like your past self." Dux pulled Legionnaire up and shook him a bit. "He has a lot to think about," said Dux irritated, "let him calm down. Now Yuzaki, this is why we came here. Amathoz is planning to release Apophis during the Solar Eclipse which will occur the day after tomorrow, you must take the others to an Egyptian exhibition in a nearby museum, the exhibition is about Tutankhamen, your past life." Phalanx only flew around and tried to cheer Yuzaki up, but to no avail. "Legionnaire, nice to finally meet you. I will Dux," said Yuzaki emotionlessly, "and I will stop Apophis from rising, personally. I won't risk my friends for something I have caused." Dux was about to counter but decided to leave Yuzaki to his thoughts, since he was the one who was supposed to protect him and failed to do so. "As you wish," said Dux, "just remember, you are not in this alone. Legionnaire, Phalanx; let's go, Yuzaki needs some time alone... Or at least with someone that is not one of us." They flew away and disappeared to wherever spirits go when they're not right next to you and Yuzaki sighed. He looked back at the moon and started to think. "I wil return..." he said to himself, "that's what Osiris meant I'm sure. I just wonder what will happen if I fail..." He kept looking solemnly at the moon, remembering everything that had happened before, his friends, his family. All the people he would lose if he should fail to complete his task, by sacrificing something unknown to him, maybe even his life.

Suzume lay in her bed, reflecting on her day. Whilst she'd been somewhat aware of the prophecies around Yuzaki for some time, it was today that everything seemed to have come together. This morning she hadn't imagined that she'd end up in a shadow duel, or that her friend would get shot - saving her life. She smiled a little as she dozed off. Before she noticed, she was back in Egypt, at what seemed to be her wedding ceremony. She, or the Egyptian version of her, turned towards the groom - and she snapped awake at the moment she realised it was Yuzaki.

So we really were... she mused to herself. She tried to work out how she felt about Yuzaki now. Sure they were good friends, but...no, the whole friendship issue was getting in the way. What she needed to know was how she'd feel about dating him. And in that moment, she realised it wouldn't be bad at all. Smiling, she settled back down, and surrounded by four Crystal Beasts, she drifted back off to sleep.

As his spirit partner lay, seemingly asleep, on the other side of the bed, Don turned the knife in his hands. None o' them kids should be involved in somethin' this deep. It sounds as is we need Yuzaki fer somethin', and without 'im ah shouldn' be involved either. The oldest of the 'knights' put the knife aside, thinking back to the prophecy itself. A great sacrifice, huh? The thing is, ah can only think o' two things that could be great enough for either the universe of Amazoth to force 'im to give up. He glanced at Dark Valkyria. Three, he corrected. Either his spirits, the girl, or his life. Ah canne do much for the first two, but ah dinna think it's worth one of the two o' them stickin' around without the other. Oh well, ah can think more on it in the mornin'.

He laid down, and drifted into a light sleep just as the spirit awoke, and began her own musings...

It was hot, out in the midday sun, although the fairy didn't really notice the heat. She turned to her partner, a giant of a man, who was a general of the king's armies, who was taking a rare break from his duties beside the river. She didn't begrudge him the rest; the man was busy dealing with Egypt's conflicts. The former Pharaoh had neglected diplomacy, and despite the efforts of the boy who had replaced him, the land was still in conflict from others.

"What do you think of the new Pharaoh?" she asked him, curious, "after all, he is physically weak."

"Close breeding of animals causes physical weakness, Dunames," he replied, "it is not to be unexpected that men who must wed their kin to retain their bloodline may on occasion be weaker of body. However, he has a good mind, and a good spirit. If illness or enemies do not reach him, he could do great things for this land."

The purple-haired female nodded. "And that's your expert opinion, Menes?" she asked.

"It is, witch," he replied.

Valkyria looked over to the bed as Don stirred. He glanced at a nearby clock. It was still early, but he'd never been one to sleep in anyway, and he sat up in the bed. "Good mornin', lassie'," he greeted her, "was yer night OK?"

Yuzaki made his way to the bed and removed the deck and dueldisk he had laid down. He got on his bed and started to think more about everything. "Amathoz wants to kill me," he said slowly, "if need be I'll have to sacrifice myself in order to let my friends live. Though I'm not sure Amathoz would do that." Suddenly another spirit appeared, this one was also winged human but with long flowing hair. "Yuzaki," said Militum, "we finally meet." Yuzaki rubbed his forehead a bit as he tried to make sense of what was happening. "Dragunity Militum I presume," he said a little tired out, "likewise; why are you here, I would expect you to be with the others." She shook her head slowly and revealed the other spirits that were next to her. "We never left," she said, "I wanted to tell you that you should focus on your friends. They are here to help you and you should have more confidence in them. You may have a heavy burden but it is not something that has to be carried alone... Reflect on that, please." She went over next to Dux and grabbed his arm. "Remember," said Militum who seemed to be smiling, "we never know how long we have to be with the ones we love... Every second counts, you never know when you will, REALLY, die." Dux also seemed to smile back as he nodded to what Militum said and all of the spirits dissolved into nothingness. Yuzaki was still a little watchful but the strength of everything that occurred finally made him fall asleep and he had another of his dreams, though this time it wasn't a nightmare. He saw Tutankhamen, or himself, talking to his wife... And he was surprised to see that it was Suzume. Tutankhamen walked up to her with the same necklace Yuzaki had shown Suzume at the restaurant. He slowly placed the necklace around her neck and gave her a small kiss on the cheek. "I do not care that you are not my real sister," said Tutankhamen though obviously in ancient Egyptian, "my father took you in and raised you as my sister, but now we are more than that... I have always loved you, truthfully." It was a very revealing moment, since according to ancient texts the queen was his biological sister, but apparently that was not the case. Then a man who was about the same age as Tutankhamen entered the room. "My pharaoh," said the man but soon broke into a small laughter, "cousin! It has been a long time, I have finished speaking with the priests, there will not be a problem; it will still be considered the union of royal blood." Incredibly it was Lucas, or at least an ancient Egyptian version of him. Tutankhamen smiled and nodded and the dream disappeared as he woke up to the first ray of light that came from the balcony. "That was strange," said Yuzaki and decided not to dwell much on the dream, "well time to wake up my friends..." He walked up to the telephone which was connected to all of the other rooms and it let out a siren like alarm sound. "Time to wake up," came the static voice of Yuzaki through the speakers, "good morning; after you guys are ready we will have breakfast, to got to the eating hall there is a diagram next to your desks which shows you how to get there... Well specifically for Don and Track because you guys are the ones who haven't visited much."

Lucas was twisting and turning, trying to get at least a little bit of sleep. Suddenly, he got knocked out cold after giving it much thought. Then he found himself in an ancient temple walking towards what appeared to be Suzume and Yuzaki, except they were dressed in Egyptian clothing. He spoke up and started to say about having spoken to the priests and all of that but what most impressed him was the fact that he called Yuzaki pharaoh and cousin. The scene change to the same temple but during what seemed to be a wedding ceremony; there he recognized someone in white and golden robes that terrified him, Amathoz. Apparently it was when Amathoz still served the pharaoh and had not yet betrayed them. "My pharaoh," said Amathoz bowing, "you are now the official ruler of Egypt. I am sure your parents would have been proud of both of you." It was strange since this Amathoz was completely different from the one in Lucas's first vision; he was more emotionless and dark, this one seemed to be happy. That, or he was a very good actor. Suddenly an alarm came blaring and Lucas almost fell off his bed. "Damn Yuzaki," said Lucas a little annoyed, "I thought you weren't going to pull the military act again. Oh well time to clean myself up and go to breakfast." With that said, Lucas made his way to the bathroom inside his room to brush his teeth, take a bath and then make his way to the grand hall, eating hall.

The sun began to pour through the gap between the curtains in Kai's room, and shone directly on his face. He moved his head in his sleep to try and escape it, but it was too late; he woke up. At first, Kai believed he could go back to sleep, and he even attempted to, but just as he was about to return to the slumber he had been in...
BEEP BEEP BEEEP.
Kai's eyes opened wide in shock when his alarm went off. He swore loudly and lept out of his bed, hastily grabbing his clothes for work and putting them on. Once dressed, he ran into his bathroom to wash himself and get ready. The last thing he needed right now was bad breath. With all his daily rituals complete, he grabbed his Duel Disk, an MP3 player from inside his desk, and his laptop and bag. As he hurried outside from his apartment block, he plugged the MP3 into his ears and walked briskly to Konami, Inc. to the tune of Zexal's opening. It didn't take long for Kai to realise he was singing the japanese lyrics almost perfectly, but that was the last thing on his mind - he was late.

Late, you ask? It's around 7 in the morning, how could he be late? Kai loved working at Konami, however the hours were a whole other issue. On any normal day this wouldn't be considered being late, but rather being early. However, his contract and the contracts of all other employees in recent times states that he must make up any missed hours, like the two he'd skipped on yesterday because of Harlingdale and his other self. Doragon materialised next to his partner, seeming concerned.

Jones returned that same hour and made his way up to Yuzaki's room. He already knew Yuzaki would be awake by this hour so he didn't hesitate to open his door. "Master Yuzaki," said Jones as he entered the room and saw Yuzaki had already bathed himself and was about to leave with his bullet holed jacket and shirt, "my God, what happened to you! You never told me about getting shot!" The voice of the elderly man was quavering and the package he brought was shaking incredibly fast once he saw the holes. "Don't worry Jones," said Yuzaki calmly, "nothing happened to me as you can see I'm still alive and don't have any wounds. Now what did you want to say to me?" Jones set the packet on the bed and took off Yuzaki's jacket and shirt, it would have been strange if it was another person but Jones was like a grandfather so Yuzaki didn't mind. "Put another shirt and I'll fix these up quickly," said Jones a little relieved but still concerned, "oh and that package. It is the package you were expecting from Mr. Takahashi. Leonor will prepare the breakfast shortly." Yuzaki nodded and waved good bye as Jones left his room; he put on a white sleeveless shirt which contrasted with his black skinny jeans but revealed some of his muscles which you wouldn't noticed he had until he took off his jacket. Picking up the package he noticed that he had made exactly the amount of cards for each of the chosen duelists of the prophecy... Which was an eery coincidence. Dux and Phalanx appeared next to him and he said good morning to them, then Militum appeared once more and giggled a bit once she saw Yuzaki and seemed to blush. "You are dressed differently Yuzaki," she said apparently giggling, "you seem like one of those male models on magazines. You should try that look sometime Duxy." Yuzaki was not pleased with being called an underwear model but thten he noticed what Militum had called Dux. 'Duxy, seriously?' he mouthed at Dux who just raised his shoulders expressing that he wasn't sure about what she was actually saying, and Yuzaki just slowly shook his head. Then the spirits disappeared once more; Yuzaki made his way out the door and looked to each end of the hallway, Lucas had already left because he left his door open. Then when he turned around and walked forward he saw Suzume's room and stopped for a minute. He felt a bit embarrassed being dressed as he was, but he was decent and he wasn't scrawny or anything. It just seemed weird, however, Jones was fixing up his usual clothes so it wasn't like he had a choice. Yuzaki decided to wait for Suzume to come out since she would probably be exiting any minute and it would seem wrong to pass by the door and make her think that he didn't care to say good morning, unlike Lucas who just sped off to the eating hall.

Don was dressing when a siren blasted through the room. "Wha's that noise?" he asked, before Yuzaki's voice emerged from a speaker, revealing it to be a wake-up call. "Well, Ah would imagine it works," he noted, pulling on his jacket and placing the knife into the inside pocket. He placed his coat and duel disk on the bed, ready to pick them up after breakfast. "Ye commin' lassie?" he asked.

"I'll take a look around the house," Valkyria replied, her mind still going over the flashback she'd seen earlier.

"Fair enough," Don responded, checking the map to find his way to the dining room, "Ah'll see ye in a bit then."

Suzume awoke feeling rather cheerful, and hummed as she looked through the clothing she'd left in Yuzaki's home for when she stayed over. Most of it was simple stuff, but there was, by chance, a very nice sky blue dress, in a lightweight fabric, along with a short cardigan in a darker shade. She'd worn them on separate occasions, but trying them on, she found they went together nicely.

"You look happy this morning," a voice told her. Suzume snapped around, to see a wrinkled tortoise looking up at her. "When did you show up?" she asked.

"About an hour before you woke up," the reptile answered, "The cat was already here."

"Cat?" Suzume asked, before noticing another of the crystal beasts lying on the bed.

"So, we finally meet face to face," the feline purred in a smooth but obviously feminine voice. "We can talk later, but right now someone is waiting for you."

Suzume straightened her clothes and opened the door to find Yuzaki, dressed like some sort of model. For a moment she was impressed, and her face turned slightly pink, but then she couldn't help herself and started laughing. "I'm sorry," she chuckled, "you just look ridiculous dressed like that." She straightened up, but her face still had a grin on it. "Anyway, good morning Yuzaki."

Track was fast asleep when he was suddenly awaken by the sound of Yuzakis voice. Track got up and stretched. "Gee Yuzaki. Why ya got to wake us up like that. Boy was that a great sleep. Best I've had in ages." After brushing his teeth with an unused toothbrush he had found in Yuzakis closet Track had a bath and looked through the closet looking for some cloths. "I better wear something different. I've worn these same cloths for a while now. I guess I'll put together an out fit." Track took out a White pair of trousers and a short white jacket. He also took out a red short sleeved shirt. He put everything on and his same red trainers. He put his deck in his pocket and he tied his duel disk to his back using an old piece of string he found in his pocket. Track then took the map and used it to make his way to the dining room. He saw that Lucas was already there. "Oh hey there lame o. Have you seen Yuzaki anywhere. I've got a bone to pick with him about waking me up like that."

Don had opted to take a longer route to the dining room - it let him see more of the house, and meant he worked up more of an appetite. Thus, when he arrived Track and Lucas had both already arrived, although the former seemed to have done little more than walk through the door and complain about Yuzaki. "Mornin' laddies," he greeted them, "Ah see ah'm no' the only one bright an' early then." Looking at the younger boy in particular though, it seemed to be a rather grudging early rise, but unconcerned he pulled out a nearby chair, turning it so he was sat at an angle to the table, facing the boys.

Yuzaki was still a little annoyed with what Militum had said and Suzume just confirmed the fact, but nonetheless he laughed it off. "Morning," he said smiling a bit, "yeah Jones wanted to fix my other clothes so I decided to stay with this shirt in the meantime. But it's cold!" He rubbed his shoulders a bit as he remarked, he wasn't that used to not having a jacket on. "And you look," said Yuzaki trying to make a clever remark but couldn't ignore how she was dressed differently, "beauti- I mean, not bad..." He felt his face turn red a bit and decided to shake it off. "Well the others should be in the eating hall by now," said Yuzaki, "we should probably meet up with them." He walked towards the hall and saw that Track, Lucas and Don were all there already; Track seemed to be annoyed but Yuzaki knew that whatever Track would say, he would have just the thing to calm him down. "Good morning," said Yuzaki, "I'm sorry that I had to wake you up like that but you had it easy; you should have seen how I woke up Lucas when we had to do a school project." Leonor, the maid, started to prepare a type of breakfast banquet so everyone could pick what they wanted. "Thanks Leonor," said Yuzaki smiling, "if you want you can rest for the remainder of the day; your always working hard." She nodded and smiled and then smiled to the rest of the people before going into a door which was apparently the kitchen.

Lucas was very annoyed with Track as he kept calling him a lame o. "Shut up pipsqueak," he said annoyed, "you haven't even known me for a long time. And trust me you are not the only one who's annoyed by being woken up by a military alarm; I don't even sleep much!" Then Don came in and greeted them. "Good morning," he said though a little cross eyed at Track, "trust me, Yuzaki basically makes this a routine so I'm used to waking up early. Though I'm a little insomniac so..." Yuzaki came in and greeted everyone. "About time you got here," said Lucas annoyed but his expression took a curious turn once he saw the package on Yuzaki's hands and then his strange clothing, "what's that? And why the hell are you dressed like swimsuit model?! Like showing off your muscles do you?"

Amathoz watched as the sun emerged and slowly filled the rest of the city. He turned slowly towards the two men that were waiting at the temple. "Now," said Amathoz sternly, "they must be somewhere all packed together... However, we still need to make sure the pharaoh finds the last knight so we can have our final ally." He looked at the men and turned his attention to Drew which was the one that had encountered the last knight, Kai. "Find him," said Amathoz, "you know where he is and he must go with the pharaoh and the rest of the knights to the exhibition. Do not engage yet; there are some 'keys' we need to attain, but only the knights can remove them from their resting places which are inside the relics in that exhibition." He then turned towards Escher and pointed at the city. "You must prepare," said Amathoz menacingly, "at the center of the city the unbinding of Apophis will take place, I need you to clear that area out and prepare to engage when prompted. But keep some maimed duelists, Apophis will like a small snack of their souls when he rises... If you kill them completely their souls will leave their bodies completely and the souls you have accumulated are for another purpose." Amathoz turned and faced the balcony awaiting for any questions and then he began to think. Tutankhamen, you may be resourceful but not even you can stop this apocalypse... Without knowing it, you have already have three keys in your possession and your knights wil remove the remaining four... Then my master shall rise and this whole world shall fall.

Don turned as Yuzaki and Suzume entered and muttered a greeting, then did a double-take at what the boy was wearing. "Ye have a house like this," he noted, confusion in his voice, "and the only change of clothes ye have is tha? Laddie, exactly wha' are ye spendin' that fortune o' yours on? Ah'll never understand rich people," he sighed to himself, shaking his head.

"Good morning everyone," Suzume called, a smile still on her face from before, "I hope you guys all slept well. Now, I don't know about you guys, but I for one am not letting one of the best breakfasts you can find go to waste," she told the others, heading over to the table and looking at the food laid out.

Yuzaki sighed as Don and Lucas also remarked at what he was wearing. "Four people until now are talking about this shirt," he said exasperated, "these are my workout clothes! Yes I have other choices but I wanted something thin and comfortable. Come on Don, don't generalize of 'rich' people; I'm pretty much the same as any other person, though I have more responsibilities now... And my fortune has basically gone to a lot of charities for now. Though obviously I have my own profit for my life, at least to keep a roof above my head." He bowed his head a little dissapointed but then proceeded to take a small piece of bread and bite it. "Well," said Yuzaki sitting on one end of the long table and opening up the package, "if I'm not mistaken and this package is really from Kazuki Takahashi, then I have a surprise for all of you; so don't get too heated up Track, I know I woke you up with that alarm but once you see this it will be worth it." He finished opening it and revealed six trading cards but they were strange... They were completely golden with some transparent ancient gold bricks on the front. "Alpha summon," explained Yuzaki, "my own creation; you need to have two or more monsters of the same attribute as the Alpha monster you want to summon. You banish those Alpha materials and to activate the effects you can return each Alpha material to the Graveyard. However, once there are no banished Alpha materials you cannot activate their effects and some have side effects when there are no banished monsters while the Alpha monster is on the field. Also, as you can see they have ranks and not levels, so that protects them from level affecting cards." He finished and proceeded to hand each of the prophecized duelists an Alpha card though he kept his own and another one which was for the missing knight. "Oh and one more thing," said Yuzaki, "we have to go to the museum; Dux told me that more answers will be found there because they have Tutankhamen the Exhibition."

Lucas greeted Suzume but was a little scared when he saw her smiling. Smiling? She never smiles what the heck is going on here, he thought to himself. Then he took the card and looked at it curiously. "Sweet," he said reading the card text, "Laveil-Bringer of Destruction... Nice name, light attribute. Once per turn return one Banished Alpha Material to the Graveyard to resolve one of the following effects: Destroy one face-up card your opponent controls; Negate this card's destruction by battle or card effects. 3000Atk and 2100Def, pretty decent card! And perfect for my cyber deck!" He then continued hearing to what Yuzaki had to say about the exhibition. "I'm game for a field trip," said Lucas, "maybe we'll even meet some Egyptian ladies on the way." He winked at Yuzaki who replied with a very bitter joke. "Yeah," replied Yuzaki, "if you want to make out with a dead corpse be my guest." "Harsh," said Lucas as he took a sandwich and started to talk with his mouth full, "bufu mare mwe bfugobing bow? I mean; are we going now?" Yuzaki only nodded and finished eating his breakfast, waiing for the others to reply.

Escher nodded at Amathoz, then bowed and took his leave. The center of the city... Many things had been happening there recently, most of them his fault. As Escher walked back into the city, he checked over his belongings, particularly several cards. He selected two of them: "Topological Equivalence" and "Bladed Chain - Counterweights of Time". Having recovered more of his power, Escher contemplated unlocking the seal on the Counterweights - the weapon would certainly be more impressive and frightening, but undoing the seal would signify his mission's completion. The mission, the annihilation of civilization on this planet, not complete, Escher placed the cards back with the other few. Then, several blocks from the plaza, Escher stopped, and waited for his chance. This would be fun.

It was a bright sunny morning in the city plaza as people went about their business. Families walked though, city officials entered City Hall, and everyone avoided the taped-off area being staffed by the Police Department Homicide division. However, this was not to last. Suddenly, the Head Detective at the scene was missing an arm. His subordinates, their legs gone. What appeared to be a mesh of steel weaved itself in front of a city official and diced him to ribbons. The general populace, seeing this, decided to panic, and there were people running about. About 1 in ten people were injured before leaving the plaza, and about half of those were fatally injured. Once the event was over, a man in a black coat with two swords across his back came into full focus, having just been a fleeting bur until now. He surveyed his work: twenty to thirty people lay immobile and/or dying, and a mere 15 have succumbed. Escher began moving the immobile persons to the edges of the plaza. There had to be room for it to come through.

Kai briskly made it outside of the Konami building and began to just double-check his clothes to make sure they were immaculate. He knew the bosses would be more lenient if he dressed appropriately. With Doragon still eyeing him, he entered the building and greeted the receptionist.
"Good morning!" He said happily. The woman greeted him back. Kai noticed she was wearing some new expensive earings - no doubt the profit from Harlingdale's visit. Kai reminded her to page him if she saw a young man waiting for him outside before hurrying up the stairs to his boss' office. He knocked twice and entered the room. Doragon and the other spirits, whom all knew this should be a private meeting, materialised outside the office in wait. Within a few seconds of Kai entering, almost every Digihuman in his deck was filling the corridor, giving people walking through an unexplained uneasy feeling.

After five seemingly short minutes, Kai left the small office, a smile on his face. All but Doragon disappeared back into his Deck as he walked three offices east to enter his own. Once inside, he sat in his chair and sighed, relieved. He'd been let off, just as planned. Since he now had some time before his official hours began, Kai's attention turned to the parcel on his desk. It was from the card manufacture room, meaning they were his last creations. A cheery smirk on his face, he opened the parcel and took out several cards from it. Three of them were rather useless to him, but they were intended for his new friend from yesterday. He put them to one side before booting up the computer to check out any recent news. He went to his local new website, and at first nothing caught his eye - it was all the same; war, poverty, people killed in some town he'd never heard of...

THen, he found two interesting stories. The first was entitled, "Serial Murder Gang in City" while the other was "Museum Announces Exhibit Opening Despite Damage". Intrigued, he clicked the first link. It was quite an awful read, listing many people who had been inexplicably killed, injured or died in mysterious circumstances. Kai's stomache wrenched as he remembered what his other self had done, though he tried to push it to the back of his mind. Whatever was happening, it seemed a group of people were out killing people, and from his own experience, the majority of these mysterious circumstances were most definately Yu-Gi-Oh spirits. Kai quickly moved on to the next story, after Doragon expressed interest.

"Despite the unexplained blast of energy last night which caused major structural damage, the city museum has announced that it will remain open, however they are apparently understaffed due to being hit by the suspected serial gang last night. This incident coincided with the opening of the new King Tut exhibit, which has been expected to gain a lot of attention from fans of the worldwide card game Yu-Gi-Oh, the backstory of which involves pharaohs and ancient spirits."

Kai looked at Doragon, who returned the same look.
"You think we should...?"
"Definately. If we examine any relics from the royal palace of the time, I'm sure we can find which parts of that...vision...you had last night were true. But what about your work?" Doragon crossed his wings in the same manner that humans cross their arms. Kai laughed and got out of his chair, putting the three cards he'd picked up inside a protective case and left them on the desk.
"I'll talk with the boss, don't worry - besides, we've known each other for years." He hurried out of the room, leaving Doragon behind. While he was waiting, Doragon lowered himself so his eyes were level with the cards. Although he couldn't see them, he had a strange feeling about them. They weren't as bad as the D-Digihumans, but something about them made him uneasy. Perhaps it was thier would-be owner...But he didn't have much more time to think, as moments later Kai rushed in, grabbed his bag, the cards, and began heading outside again.
"I take it he agreed?" Doragon sighed disapprovingly. Kai rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, and he's putting it down on the paper as a research trip, to get ideas for cards." He walked out and began heading down a street, wondering what he might learn about his past and what from his dream was a lie. Doragon, still feeling irritated by his master's irresponsibility, gave a tired sigh before disappearing back into the deck.

Don had pulled a small pile of toast onto his plate when Yuzaki passed him one of the cards. He scanned it briefly, and quickly saw the potential it had, especially with his deck. He pulled out the rest of his cards, and swapped a few cards around, to maximise the effectiveness of the new card in his deck. "Thanks," he spoke up, waving the card, "although ah guess there's somethin' else invovled, since ye didn' even meet me until yesterday." Don fully expected the boy to actually have watched a recording of his duel with Track, but the idea that somehow within a little more than 12 hours someone had observed his deck, devised a card that would work with it, balanced it, printed it and dispatched it in time for breakfast. He munched on some toast. Nah, has to be somethin' else. Ah'll talk with the lassie about it.

Suzume looked at her card, saw how it would be useful for her deck, and put it away, before starting on her own meal, opting to let the boys talk about their stuff.

Track took a little bit of every thing and began to stuff his face with food. As soon as Yuzaki had walked into the room Track turned to face him. Track began to laugh. "Oh man. Yuzaki what are you wearing. I mean seriously man what's up with that outfit." Track carried on eating and took the card that was given to him by Yuzaki. He looked at it for a while. He looked up at Yuzaki. "Alpha summoning huh. It seems pretty cool. So Yuzaki. What's your one. The one you gave me is Windstorm Knight. It looks really cool." Track also heard Yuzaki say they were going to a Tutankhaman exhibition. "An exhibition. That sounds kinda boring but I'll give it a shot. Track started eating again then stopped waiting for Yuzakis answer.

Drew had heard his instructions. Drew nodded at Amathoz and left the temple. Drew managed to make his way all the way to Kais place of work. Once he entered he went over to the receptionist. "Im here to speak with Kai. He's got a package for me."

"It's the Tutankhamen exhibition," repeated Yuzaki, "MY exhibition; trust me Track, by how things are going for us I don't really think it would be boring. Also it was attacked last night and I think Amathoz may have had something to do with that." He looked at his card and placed it in his deck smiling slyly as he did. "You're going to have to see it in a duel," said Yuzaki, "but I'll tell you this much; it's a dragon." He then looked at Don as he said there must have been something else because he just met him yesterday. "Technically I met you about three thousand years ago," said Yuzaki, "but fair enough... I made these cards completely by mistake, I didn't think much about them and apparently they were made because of my subconscious memories. I could say that I watched your duels and everything but the truth is that these cards were made long before I met you guys, Suzume and Lucas exempted of course, and one of the knights is yet to be found so this card must work well with his deck. Well once you guys are done we'll go to the exhibition, Jones is busy at the moment but I can still drive the SUV back into town." Yuzaki then looked at Suzume and asked her if they could have a private talk before leaving, and then made his way to pick up his plates and place them in a small slot next to the door where Leonor had returned to.

"Ye can drive?" Don questioned. "Ye dinne look old enough." He tossed the last of his toast into his mouth and thought for a moment. "Does insurance matter 'ere? If it doesn', then ah'd be more comfortable if ah were drivin' - although ah dinne know how ye'd feel with me behind the wheel. Whatever," he shrugged, standing and slipping his plates through the slot. "ah'll meet ye outside ah guess. Ah have a couple of things to pick up." With that, he walked through the door and headed back to the room.

Suzume stood up and carried her plates, passing them through and turning to Yuzaki. "Sure, we can talk," she replied. In fact, she was curious as to what Yuzaki wanted to say that he couldn't in front of the others. "So, where should we go?" she asked.

Don arrived at his room just before Dark Valkyria. "Excellent timing, lassie," he said, reaching for his deck and withdrawing the Alpha monster to show the spirit. "Yuzaki developed this in 'is subconcious before we met, per'apse based on his memories of Egypt. Wha' do ye know?"

"This thing," she spoke slowly, observing the card image, "I have seen it before. It was in Egypt, under the control of the a general of the Pharaoh Tutankhamen. General Menes, who was once my partner, many lifetimes ago."

"Given the whole reincarnation theme goin' around, ah'm gonna guess that's me."

"Yes." The spirit paused, as if about to say something, but she didn't follow through with what she really wanted to tell him. "The knights of Yuzaki Kinjo are the reincarnations of those close to the Pharaoh Tutankhamen. You are not an exception."

"Well, the laddie's words did sort o' give tha' impression." Don pulled on his jacket and strapped the disk to his arm. "Well, we're headin' off to an exhibition, so unless his ego blows up, let's go through everythin' there."

Yuzaki shrugged his shoulders and nodded. "I'm sixteen, I got my license a couple of months ago," said Yuzaki, "but you can drive if you want, though it's a little bumpy road." Then he talked with Suzume after she set her plates and they had a little more privacy. "The exhibition is basically the only place we could go right now," answered Yuzaki, "that's the only lead we have to what Amathoz wants. Oh, and tomorrow there is going to be a solar eclipse so if I have my Egyptian mythology correct, that's going to be the best time to bring Apophis to this world..." Yuzaki looked at her and reached into his pocket, pulling out the necklace that his mother had given him and the one Tutankhamen had given Ankhsenamun. "I want you to have this," said Yuzaki slowly but in a serious manner looking her straight in the eyes, something which he couldn't have done easily before, "it has the same properties of my necklace, meaning that it can protect you from the shadows." Yuzaki felt a little strange but he finally overcame this feeling and remembered what Militum had told him. "I want YOU to have it," he continued firmly, "I've been thinking about something a friend told me... And since I died or almost died yesterday, I want to be able to die knowing that I've tied all loose ends. Suzume-" Lucas cut off Yuzaki as he ran where they were and started to ask if he had to bring his deck and everything. "Unless you want to die without fighting," said Yuzaki annoyed, "could you go, this is a pretty private conversation." Lucas looked from Yuzaki to Suzume and from Suzume to Yuzaki. "Oh," he replied slyly, "okay no problem, I'll be getting ready if you need me." Yuzaki then turned back to Suzume and awaited her response on the matter, forgetting that he had not finished expressing himself.

The receptionist looked up at Drew and seemed annoyed with Kai, whom had just left again.
"I'm sorry, but he just left. He's going to the museum, if that helps. I'll page him and let him know - but he can't be that far, he only left a minute ago.." She typed and clicked a few times on her computer and bid Drew goodbye.

Out in the street, Kai felt his pager vibrate. "D'oh..." He muttered. He looked behind him as he took the pager out. He wasn't that far from the Konami offices, in fact he'd only made it a couple of blocks away, and it was still in sight. He couldn't see the boy, so he was assuming his new friend had entered the building. He read the page text;
Someone wants to see you for some package. I've told him your location, but if you meet him halfway it could save both of you time.

Figuring the receptionist's advice was right, Kai stayed rooted to the spot and waited. He really wanted to go to the museum, but friends come first to him.

Suzume took the necklace and examined it. It wasn't the sort of thing that was common in the present, but for a several thousand year old artefact it was pretty much perfect. "Thank you so much," she said. She hovered for a moment. On the one hand, wearing an ancient Egyptian artefact might cause issues when visiting an Egyptian exhibition, although hiding it might make things more awkward. Either way, it would be cleared up if nothing was missing, so she erred on the side of people shouldn't be searching her.

It seemed Yuzaki was about to tell her something before Lucas interrupted. The girl thought it over in her mind. He'd given her this necklace, which, feeling it, seemed as though it might be one she'd been wearing in a dream, and he'd stressed he wanted to give it to her. An idea began to climb into her mind, but her sensibilities shot it down, and came up with something else. "I guess it's good to make sure everything's in order. I'll call home before we set off."

"No problem, true make sure that they're all right; give them greetings from me," said Yuzaki, "well I guess I'll leave you for the moment..." He waved slowly as he made his way to his room. Once in his room he took the "safe" box which had the bracelet from before and placed the bracelet on. "I doubt they would think I stole it," thought Yuzaki out loud as he looked at the scarab bracelet curiously, "after all I'm going inside with it, and I'm an Egyptian fan because I'm going to the exhibition so it'd wouldn't be strange to go there with something about Egypt." Jones had apparently finished with Yuzaki's jacket because it was laid on the bed, however his other shirt had not been fixed yet apparently so he would have to stay with the white shirt for now. Note: Increase wardrobe, thought Yuzaki to himself, well most of my other clothes are still in the laundry though; okay reNote: Pick up clothes from the laundry. Dux and Phalanx appeared, this time without the other spirits. "So, your going to the exhibition," said Dux matter of factly, "when are you leaving?" Yuzaki heard Dux speak as he adjusted the bracelet on his right arm and placed his jacket on; and finally he locked his dueldisk on his left arm. "Right now," said Yuzaki, "the faster we do this the faster we can end it." He placed his deck on his belt and slung a sack of supplies on his back as he walked towards the exit of the door.
