I will now explain the lore behind this Set.

 

These cards are meant to tell the story of a young girl who falls in love. She begins in the form of Fragile Innocence, where she is innocent and happy in her newfound love. Then is betrayed and her heart is broken (Betrayal of Love), which results a new card for her inner world, The Heart-Broken Maiden. Slowly, distrust and despair grows, and she becomes lonely, rejecting and avoiding relationships with other people (The Cruel Side of Despair) - this resulting in her becoming Betrothed to a Never-Ending Nightmare. Finally, unable to endure the pain of loss and solitude, she gives in to her darkness (A Deal with Dark Goddess), and becomes an incarnation of that darkness, a vengeful shadow that seeks to destroy all those who betrayed her - Goddess of the Dark Sanctuary.

 

Blood Stained Romance and A Torniquet of Shattered Dreams are simply meant as seeker cards which allow you to get the cards needed to go through the stages faster. Desperate Embrace was just a support card for a specific stage of the main monster.
