I saw the bottom note and as such I'm not going to read your post. Make a clear point and I'll tell you why you're wrong.

On your first post you claim that piracy is a good thing. I then ask you to explain. Your only reply asks if I have read the posts. I have read them, but none of them raises a good point on how piracy is good, so I reply with, "have you?" -implying that you don't seem to have read the anti-pirate posts. Now you've confirmed it by saying you only read the bottom note. How am I suppose to make a clear point when you don't even read them?

I'm still waiting for you to explain how piracy is good.

I pirate. I am in full support of piracy. Okay, fine, ambiguity is lame.

You're an idiot. Do you even understand why games are so damn expensive? BECAUSE PEOPLE PIRATE IT. That means less people actually buy the game, which means they have to make more profit per game, which means the price goes up. Do you know why the economy is s*** right now? Because of spoiled people like you. People put hard work into that game. Imagine if you come up with a great idea, tell it to someone, then they steal it for their own and make lots of money off it. You'll say it's wrong. Oh, but it's not a real object. Not like you put money into creating the idea. But you still lose all that money because it was taken from you. So when you steal the coding, that is basically what you're doing. "Oh the coding doesn't take too long to make." Bullcrap. Why do think it takes years for games to come out after they've been announced? "It's not like the coding takes a lot of money to make." So what. By taking the coding instead of buying, they lose a customer, and profit off of that coding. That means they must raise the price to keep even, AND fire people so the company doesn't go bankrupt. And THAT'S why so many people are homeless, you're just too retarded to see that. By stealing that code, you could have just cost a man his job, his house, and his life. If you can keep that on your conscience then you are just a terrible person. And because that one person is know jobless that makes our country look bad, as it increases the jobless rate. This means the government has to raise taxes to make sure they still get some money from the people who pirate, but they hurt the ones how pay legally as well. So by stealing that little piece of code, you have affected every single person in this country. THIS is why our country is going downhill fast, but you are too ignorant to see that.

tl;dr(idiot) version: By simply pirating that piece of code you are costing people jobs and hurting everybody in this wonderful country.

Oh, and this is also why you never see things made in America anymore. They all make and sell it elsewhere where greedy people don't pirate, and they make more profit.

Read this and prove I'm wrong or stfu. It's exactly why common theft is illegal; it hurts a business, and thus the economy, and thus America(or whatever country you live in) as a whole.

ITT: idiots. Though I must admit, not just on the anti-pirate side.

EDT: Dark, I hope you're trolling (and doing a good job on it, congrats).

Instead of hoping that I'm trolling, why don't you actually try responding to some of these posts instead of acting like a stuck-up whiny little prick? If you are so pro-piracy and you believe it's the miracle cure to everything bad in the world, why don't you give us an argument?

If I live in England. And I pirate an American game. I don't hurt my country's economy. So I shouldn't care. So I pirate the American version and not the European version. The English retailers didn't lose any profit. My country shouldn't give two s***s.

Oh ignorance, you so bliss. Why am I posting this, when I don't think it?

Yeah but too many people I know do it

Don't tell me YOU'VE never seen anyone do it, Composer

I have. But I'm still against it. The only things I have ever pirated are games I can only get used, and none of the money goes to the creator, just the store that sells it; and VGM, which as someone said earlier, is usually only released in Japan and I won't be able to buy it anyway. But if I can buy a game, I'll buy it, because the creators of the game put years of their life into learning their profession, and then they have their creation stolen from them.

Here's a man I can agree with. Although used games aren't all that bad, the condition is usually good.

Piracy is wrong if it's a modern game you can still get,but if it's an old classic, like mother 3,it's not bad.

also, why is it that people in this thread defending it haven't posted a valid argument for it?

Because the only reason is that they obtain something easily for free. There's nothing more to it. As a race a large amount of us jump at the chance to get something for much less than it costs, and the easier the better, that's all there is to it.

Yeah, can't believe those idiots are trying to start an argument with me even though I'm right.

Because saying your right means your right....right?

Fun fact, Mother 3 isn't an old classic. The game came out in 05 is memory serves. The issue there is unless you live in Japan you really can't play the game. Sure you can import it, but good luck enjoying a text heavy game if you don't know Japanese. And yes, as I've said many time, if you can't legally obtain a game of song, I don't see that big a problem with pirating it.
