Lonk
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Sun_%28series%29 If you haven't played any of the games, why do you continue to exist? The Golden Sun series are truly amazing. It's one of those games in where the sequel to the original makes such a clean plot transfer. The battle style is amazing, many memorable characters and some really challenging battles (save GS3). Discuss.
Resident Fascist
I havn't played any of the games, but I would like to. Once I find them for a reasonable price.
Catterjune
Golden Sun Dark Dawn is a terrible, TERRIBLE game in comparison to the first two.
Lonk
Agreed. Dark Dawn could have been much more better if it were not rushed. However, it just seems to be a spiritual repeat of The Lost Ages (8 People in total for a party, must save the world by bringing out Alchemy's power and they re-used some of the Superbosses from the previous game). Also, Motoi Sakuraba is a beast of a composer. I guess that is why I love the series' music.
Umbra
The plot for Dark Dawn felt too haphazard for me. The first story, with the Psynergy Vortexes popping up everywhere, was actually interesting. It was when these ancient civilizations that had apparently existed forever and were kept in some sort of time-bubble by the sealed Golden Sun started appearing all over the place that I started to worry, and after that it pretty much derailed. The Chaos Chimera must've received its military training from Major Disappointment; with summon-rushing and an average-level party you can take it down in three turns. Not to mention the healing break you're given in between. CATERING TO THE CASUALS, I say. However, I haven't beaten the post-game bosses. I did accidentally walk into Dullahan (not sure how I accomplished that, I just got Charon and then walked into the next room) and subsequently had my Fulminous Edge handed to me. Lonk
The Chaos Chimera was a huge disappointment. You would expect the final boss of the 3rd game to be an epic boss that would overshadow some tough competition (Dragons, with the latter having a devastating combination that can kill off your entire party in one turn). Instead, we got a three-headed chimera.......
King of Nothing
I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this post, but I just couldn't get into the games that much. I like RPGs, but everything felt to generic to me. Get something, get a power up, get something else, more power. That, and I felt a bit of a lack of customization possibilities. Pokemon is probably the only RPG I enjoy playing that doesn't have a create a character mode...and I'd enjoy it a lot more if it did. It's not a bad game by any means, and I see the appeal, I just don't think it was really the game for me.
Lonk
Well, you are entitled to your own opinion on the game. However, if you in any way say you didn't like the music of the first 2 games (Dark Dawn's music sounded too clean to be of much good), I will make you watch Hannah Montana reruns. Tentacruel
I own all three. =) By the way, I actually feel that the plot in Dark Dawn was the best part of it, my main gripe with the game is that there is very little new content. It was a good game, just not when compared to the awesomeness that is the first two.
Lonk
Good thing that by the ending of Dark Dawn, we are more than expected to have a GS4. Hopefully 4 will have many more new Spells and Summons. Though, not much can beat the visual epicness of Catastrophe's Summon (Though Eclipse is my favorite in the visual epicness). Lunar Origins
I love golden sun... My mom said "Hey, I bought you something!!!" For my 10th B-Day, and it was Golden Sun. I was like WTF IS THIS, THIS IS AN RPG THATS NOT FF? I was amazed. I love the story, the gameplay (I always thought Saturos and Menardi were hard when I fought them, idk why...) This game probably explains why I recently gotten into FF6 so much. If you've played FF6 and this game, A LOT of things are VERY similiar (Especially the world maps). But then again... Anyways, Here's a Dullahan .GIF for you guys. Another thing! Dullahan is a boss in both FF6 AND Golden Sun: TLA! Coincidence??? (I have yet to play the new one.)
Lonk
Dullahan is definitely a boss. What makes him laughable is that all of his moves follow a pattern. Once you recognize the pattern, you know what he is going to do.
