Resident Fascist
I'll be posting this on my blog... so someone tell me if there are mistakes. Customisation in a 3D Brawler like dissidia is important, though somewhat mediocre in Dissidia's Case. The Game matters more on your moveset and your skill rather than the Accessories you have equipped. That being said, there are some stupidly broken Accessories. Well, which 10 made the list? Read on. 10) Pheonix Pinion Last Chance is one thing, but converting your current bravery to HP is another. The accessory may have well have been called "Second Life" because that's what it practicially is. For those new to Dissida, the Pheonix Pinion is a 100% Break ability that vanishes after use, it allows it's owner to convert their current bravery into HP when it reaches 0. But only once. The Huge disadvantage to this ability is that it leaves you wide open for Bravery Break. Though, hitting your foe with a HP attack brings you back to base bravery. 9) Spirit Stanchion 10% BRV Boost upon blocking a Attack. Let's leave your foe completely vunerable for not only a bravery combo, but let's boost up your bravery by 100 or 200 Points while we are at it. It makes someone already R trigger(Block Button) happy into someone who runs up to the foe, and presses R to block, expecting an attack. X-Death goes on a field trip with this thing. If you are a pro player who can block almost everything, this will turn your 5000 Bravery into 9999 with ease. Maybe I'm overreacting a little. No wait, 10% Bravery boost on block? Bloody heck. Let's calculate that with a 900 Base Bravery: 900 / 10 = 90 So, Is 90 extra bravery going to do anything? Well, it's a free bravery boost for doing nothing except pressing the R Button. Can't say no to that. It's not terribly broken, as it punishes a mindset for your opponent to stop spamming blockable attacks. Battle Boots Oh, more BRV Boost. But this time on quickmove. You'll get a 2% boost to your bravery every time you quickmove. In other words: Get a 2% BRV Boost everytime you press R+Triangle. Do I need explain? Ok, 2% Boost isn't much, I admit. But it's still free candy for pressing buttons. I mean, seriously. There isn't much to say about the Battle Boots, except the fact that they are handy if you have a space left over in your build. 7)Back-Breaking Straw Want Half a Spirit Stanchion, Half a Pair of Battle Boots and Half a Elven Mantle in 1? Here you have it. Why is this #7 on the list if it's weaker than the previous 2 abilities? Because it saves you 2 slots for extra accessories. Back-Breaking Straw's only disadvantage is the fact that it is weaker. Once again, you can either get a +3% Boost to your bravery for pressing 2 buttons, and also giving you an advantage by leaving the foe vunerable to counter attack. I sometimes look up at the roof of my room, and debate why this accessory was even made. I still think Game-Breaking Straw is a better name for it. 6)Valor Strength Yes, it's perfectly acceptable to give players a 200% Bravery boost to their inital bravery. Of course it isn't. This ability is so broken, you can call Shattered glass fixed compared to this. It's one of the reasons 9999 Base Bravery builds exist. Something that is terrible for the game. Promoting one hit kills is not good, Square enix. The only good thing is that it always breaks after a game, not that this matters. Every Character in the game Loves to have more Bravery. This is generic Bravery boosters. Not good. It's ANOTHER 11/10 design. 5) Gold Hourglass "Yes, that's an amazing idea!" One Square enix employee said to another. "Let's give all Characters the ability to be in their super modes for 20% longer! Gabranth Players will love this! It's a boost for everyone!" And hence the Gold Hourglass was made. My Biggest issue with this accessory is that you just put it in your build and ta-da. You have a much longer EX Mode. EX Builds are fine, of course. It's number 5 on the list because well, as you know EX Burst is a super mode for all characters. Some characters get new attacks and so on, while only in EX Burst. These attacks are usually great(See:Goblin Punch) or very powerful(See: Heartless Angel) and giving the characters the ability to stay in this form 20% longer is insane... though mind you, it's not the worst offender for this. 4)Diamond Ring This accessory boosts your AP by 300%. This means your character can have much, much better abilities than the next character. It fiddles with something outside of the game and more on Character Customisation. Something an Accessory should never, ever do. Ever. Having better abilities means you need less skill. Needing less skill makes the game more autopilot. Game being more autopilot makes it less fun. Game being less fun makes it... You see where I am going with this? Yeah. WARNING: Coming up are the 'Power 3' Of Dissidia. Everyone knows these are good. But whatever. Expect lots and lots of ranting. 3)Soul Of The Destroyer 2000% Bravery boost. What the ****. Why was this even made? Someone tell me. It breaks the game beyond belief. It makes your starting bravery 9999 or close enough to it. It promotes being cheap. All you do is drop it in your accessories and then press square. Ta da. You've won. What a hollow victory. Whoever decided this should be banned from all major level dissidia tournements is the person who should create the accessories for the games in the first place, that way, stupid things like THIS won't happen. Just. No. 2)Puppeter's Wheel 100% EX Boost from the beginning of the fight. 500% Longer EX Mode. 200% EX mode absorb. Do I NEED to say more? This is Golden hourglass X25. In one accessory slot, you have the 2nd most broken ability in the game. Gabranth freaking loves this thing. It's THE reason WHY EX Builds are so good now. Just... Go away. Mind you, the next entry to the list may seem weaker than this.... but it's the worst ability in the game. By far. 1) Smiting Soul(Lai Strike) a 2% chance to instantly inflict Bravery break. Innocent? Why would it be number 1 on the list? First off, it's a basic accessory. It's boostable. Next, it counts individual hits. Multi hit attacks each get their own modifier for this. Didn't BRV break with your first hit? Oh well, you'll BRV break with the second. There are builds that inflict INSTANT BREAK with this and a few easy to get conditions. Equip the rotten, then equip somethings that give a collosal boost to Basics when you have 1 HP, and there you have it. Press Circle to get 9999 bravery and win. Can't be more simple. Why? WHY SQUARE ENIX! WHY? Why did you create this? Yes, even without boosters, let's suddenly make a accessory that makes your bravery go Bye bye without any warning. Just... Ban it. Please. Thanks. Even if you don't win, you can keep the foe under constant punishment of BRV Break. I didn't proof read this. lols. Also, if you have any corrections, post below. ---------------
I think the only reason they added Puppeter's Wheel was for Terra, so that the battle with her as Onion Knight alludes more to FFVI. Don't know why they let the players use it, though. Should have made it so that it could only have been used in that one battle.
