Make the most realistic FPS I possibly can. Become the new Bungie. If you want it I'll prolly update the game and put it in for you. It would be an XBOX and PC exclusive. It would be called.... The Modern Battlefront. Or something cool like that. Or operation Overkill.

I am going to try to keep this short and sweet, allowing my game idea to do the talking. Before I post it I am a huge Zelda fan and I have been writing this game in my head for some time now, so without any further ado, here is the synopsis to my game:
This is a Zelda game that takes place during The Great Flood, which documents the events leading up from Ocarina of Time to The Wind Waker. As Link is currently within the Majora’s mask timeline (past timeline) and is unable to save Hyrule. The protagonist is a young character named Kael. The game is about his rise and inevitable fall against Ganon as ultimately he does not posses the Triforce of courage. The game will share a number of parallels with OOT such as maturity as the character grows into a man similar to how link does. However Kael’s maturity is different to links as his is a more real and darker maturity while links was more of a naive oen.

-Kael is a young (11/12 yrs old) prodigy swordsman and his mother live in small village within a small province of Hyrule. Link is Kael's idol and almost like a spiritual father figure who Kael models himself on.

-Kael is by far one of the greatest swordsmen Hyrule has ever seen and great things are prophesised of his future by everyone in his village

-With the return of Ganon, Zelda plans on constructing an army to battle the onslaught that faces them. She calls on the greatest warriors in all the provinces of Hyrule to rally together in order to form her army. Kael is sent to Hyrule to be a part of her army

-Spotting Kael in the renaks of the soldiers, Zelda has flashbacks of the young link from OOT and summons him. Sensing that he may be the new hero, she sets him an almost identical set of quests to link in OOT such helping the Gorons and Zoras in order to help him follow the same road as the old hero.

-Having completed all of Zelda’s tasks he returns home. Upon his arrival he witnesses Gannon with a small force ransacking and mercilessly destroying his small village.

-Within moments he is knocked unconscious and wakes to find his village in a dark dilapidated burning wreck, he flees home immediately. Within the rubble and ruins of his home he finds his dead mother

- He proceeds to bury her and burns his green tunic on the funeral pyre.

-Torn and twisted by his feelings of venomous hate for Ganon on one hand and bitter hatred that link did not appear, Kael begins his journey into a dark twisted warrior hell-bent on destroying Ganon, fuelled not only by his festering hate for him but for Link as well.

-After Kael's spurt into maturity (18/19 years old) during a 7 year transition period in which he trains in solitude in order to hone his already unique and unmatched sword skills he returns to undo the malice that Ganon has spread across the land

-As he travels from province to province, dispelling an essence of evil with each new area he encounters, word begins to spread around Hyrule that this warrior in a black cloaked hood is the Hero reborn. It is then speculated that like Link he will rise to defeat Ganon

-Even the gods themselves declare that the essence of the triforce of courage resides within him, which is difficult for the player to understand as we know that he can’t possibly be the hero and he can’t possible possess the essence of the triforce of courage as we know how the story ends.

-Even Kael himself begins to believe that he is the hero reborn. This however begins to play on his dark mind, as after Link’s desertion he feels nothing but festering hatred for him, so the clash between good and evil within his mind causes conflict and anger inside him as he is realises the parallels he holds with the old hero.

-As he travel through Hyrule slowly cleansing it, the anticipation bulids that he really IS the hero reborn

-Eventually the story climaxes with a final battle with Ganon himself, with Ganon too under the influence that Kael is the hero reborn. He puts his plans of the destruction of Hyrule on hold for a showdown with Kael and Zelda as he is hoping to unleash the triforce and make his wish.

-After a long bloodthirsty battle Kael inevitably looses as his supreme swordplay can’t compete with Ganon’s triforce of power

-In his last moments of life Ganon clutches Kael’s arm and the arm and Zelda’s lifting them together

-Zelda's hand begins to glow, as does Ganon's, we wait in anticipation for the glow to emerge from Kael’s hand and for the triforce to appear but all falls silent and nothing nothing happens

-Ganondorf realises that although there were an abundance of similarities between Link and Kael, Kael was simply not the chosen hero and did not posess the triforce of courage, so he departs unfulfilled.

-It is during the battle between Kael and Ganon that there was time enough for the people of Hyrule to appeal to the gods who start a mighty downpour

-As Kael dies slowly and lifelessly he seeps into another world where he meets the sage Rauru, who explains that he can give him what he wants at the highest price. Kael accepts Rauru's offer and is then transported into the past timeline.

-Within the dense woodland of the lost woods Kael encounters link as he searches for Navi

-Kael overcome with anger attacks on sight and Link retaliates, thinking that Kael in his dark hooded tunic is a foe. The player then plays out this battle

-Kael emerges victorious between the two as the Triforce of courage fails to work on Kael who is innately a good person. Link then dies in the lost woods.

-As Rauru predicted, Kael had to suffer for his actions as he becomes trapped in the lost woods and morphs into a stalphos and must wander the lost woods forever

-However the Stalfos he becomes is the Hero Shade, who passes on his teachings to the hero of The Twilight Princess. In that sense, the fact that Kael is the mentor of the hero of twilight shows that he himself is responsible for the destruction of Ganon ins the twilight princess and marks his close relationship with the triforce of courage.

-Back in the other timeline, as the world floods, the people of Hyrule flee to the mountaintops and only a handful of people survive. One survivor however was the lover of Kael who was harbouring their child.

-The game ends with the childs birth and the naming of the childs island, which would be known as "Outset Island" as seen in Wind waker.

-Centuries later, that child's great great great grandson is the hero of the winds from wind waker. Again with Kael’s great great great grandchild being the hero of the winds from windwaker, Kael stakes his claim of having a veritable bearing on defeating ganon and sharing a relationship with the triforce of courage.
What do you think?

It's loosely inspired by Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and Phantom Hourglass... >_>

There's a group of forest kids. As soon as they leave the forest, they age at a ridiculously quick rate and die in about a day.

As you age, your skills in various things change. As a kid, you're quick and nimble and it's best to take the higher paths to move along the level and avoid fights. As you grow older, your not as fast and nimble but you're stronger, so fighting monsters in a lower area is a prefer playstyle. As you grown even older, you're "an old wise man" who can't jump, but your magic gets ridiculously augmented.

So, you leave the forest for some reason, and then acquire some kind of magic hourglass that, when inverted, reverses the way you age. Apparently it can also be used to solve puzzles too, by adding your age to someone else, and reverting to childhood. Make difficult bosses age until they're decrepit old people. Make a small tree age into a huge one.

It's a 2D Side Scroller, similar in style to Castlevania or Metroid. Also, the sprite of the protagonist ages in real time.

One main thing I wanted is for it not be so linear. You can literally play the entire game as one age (and screw around with the hourglass every so often to make sure you stay your preferred age for as long as you like) and the game would play the same way. Of course, certain puzzles would require distinct things, like a "small hole" during the adult section only accessible by being a kid or the tavern not letting the kid in until he's a certain age, or a thing needing a magic spell you learn when you're much older.

And... yeah, that's my idea. I doubt I'd ever do it, so feel free to steal it I guess.

That's a fantastic concept.

I may be slightly biased as I love games that meddle with fabric of time. From what you have put forth, although the idea seems to be in its embryonic stage, there is already a sense of veritable depth to the game itself. I like the fact that you pay respect to the power of time and the protagonist of your game would no doubt reflect the nature and properties of time itself.

I would imagine that endless puzzles could ensue when the nature of how time affects the interests of protagonist clash with the timeline which affects the interests of.....perhaps a temple which you may be playing through. That may sound wordy but my take on your game and perhaps a deeper meaning to your game may be that although time is linear it is uniquely personal to everyone who sails the seas of time. To put it simpler still, what happens to one person over a period of time is uniquely different to what happens to another person during the exact same period of time on the time line.

Time is confusing and innately deep, this would be a great game indeed

P.S: if you get a chance have a look at the storyline of my game posted above (it is too inspired by the LOZ series)

hey cool...OK I won't tell much since it's a secret... ;) I won't tell the name of the characters too haha... it's a RPG...OK?
The first part of the story take place in a distant planet in another dimension (?) here a war between the empire that lose it's power since the last war against the underworld god and his servants, most of the regular knights and the strongest paladins had died, and the rebel army, the emperor is the son of the ultimate god, he receive a message from his father about a strong warrior that born in a distant land, he feels a strong power emerging from another dimension and send his troops to look for in near dimensions, when he found a orphan boy that recently lost his parents in the Earth, he send his loyal paladin to take the boy. he adopted him and created him to fight and to be a great paladin.
this is just the begging, I really don't want to talk too much, but I'll talk about the main characters without telling you their names (just cuz I'm bad)
"the boy": he received a very hard training to become a paladin but he never surpassed the paladin who rescued him...
"the paladin":he is the strongest paladin in the kingdom and most loyal, he can use the spirits of the ones he killed in name of the war
... there are lot of other characters and stories and some side stories too, if you beg my I'll tell more xD(just joking...)

I had this idea for a Solid Snake/RPG type game, where you wake up in a cell in the dungeon of a castle, someone in disquise comes in, gets rid of the gaurds, blows up the cage door and rescues you, turns out, you're a thief, who is suffering from amnesia after falling off the castle wall after stealing a precious gemstone (Which is how you got captured) Its mainly mission based, the Solid Snake elements come in when you have to dodge gaurds, and the RPG elements come in with the battles that take place, (Gaurds, Bar fights, when you run into an enemy, etc)
Every so often in the plot, you'll remember bits of things from your life, and learn a skill related to that.
Also, by the end of the game, you'll have accumulated 10,000,000 gold in profit, which is how much that girl who saved you told you that you owed her (Her story is very convincing... even though its a lie)

With all due respect I don't think he was being rude.

I think what he was suggesting was that you state more about your game, giving it a context and a theme, as in reality your original post was slightly muffled and vague. I have noticed that there are YCM member who seem to lurk within threads armed with gold-plated flamethrowers however I believe that in this case he was just trying to help you, although I do understand how you may have interpreted his words in such a way as to irritate you.

I would like to hear more about your game though.

I like the fact that protagonist has to find himself ad the game progresses.

What would be great is that the precious gemstone you stole is hidden somewhere that even the protagonist doesn't remember due to his amnesia. (I don't mean to hijack your game btw lol I am just seeing wether you think my idea is a productive one) The game could be centred around this precious gemstone as you try to remember its significance and you fend off everyone else in the game who is trying to find it. It could be quite a dark and sombre game as everyone after the stone knows that the protagonist has it somewhere yet he doesn't know himself of its whereabouts.

Great idea.

Well actually, you are part of a gang of theives, 3 people, you that girl who saved you, and some other guy whos good with mechanics. (IE: Bombs, Lock-Picks)

But yeah, I really like your idea, very good.

Ah I see, as I said before though great idea, I would most certainly play it.

I'm actually acting upon my idea to create the game I envisioned.

I can't say too much on a public forum, but the main character is a fast, flying turtle who attacks with implosions and wields a guitar.

That should be an interesting game to play stoned O_o

It probably would be.

But I was basically trying to make everything about it as good as possible. The select few people who've read the story I wrote for it (27 pages typed, so I had to split it into 3 games) can confirm that the story is rather well-done for a game.

@N: No, I just have weird ideas like that a lot.
