Phyrexia Aftermath (MTG RP) [OOC Thread/Started/Accepting]

Recommended Posts
The plane Mirrodin has been infected with the mighty Phyrexians. These creatures have forced their way into the bodies of citizens, rotting them and turning them into puppets for the great Phyrexia movement. As the war raged on, the numbers of Mirrodins, the original inhabitors of the plane Mirrodin, began to shrink at a rapid pace. Soon, the numbers went from 90% Mirrodin and 10% Phyrexian to 90% Phyrexian and 10% Mirrodin. The numbers kept shrinking, until only one was left. The very essence of Mirrodin. The creator, and destroyer, of the artificing world.

Karn.

In Karn's final attempt to beat the Phyrexians and save his homeworld, he sent out a message to the past for Mirrodins to be well prepared for war. Now, with their armies ready, the war once again began. However, Karn was the first to die, and with his death, the plane itself began to corrupt. The same future was being carried out, but there was no longer a savior. Mirrodin soon became "New Phyrexia", a horrid wasteland of poisonous acid, toxic swamps and corroded mountains.

A few years had past, and Chandra, a Red Planeswalker, had hidden in Mirrodin to run from Jace. Jace had found her, though, and began his search. What he didn't expect was to find the lure of Phyrexia. As he began to search for information, he constantly got the message "The only way to know what we know is to join us". Jace, an extremely intelligent being always looking for new information, had given up his will for the knowledge to find Chandra.

He had attempted to trick the Phyrexians, and evacuate the area once he got the information he lost, but he became mad. The knowledge he gained was knowledge that nobody else knew. He found ways to torture and corrupt his foes at a much faster pace than before. He ran out of test dummies, though, and began to practice on himself. The whispers of Phyrexia had convinced him to corrupt his very mind, and Jace became a weapon of Phyrexia.

What is your purpose, you may ask? You are a planeswalker who has stumbled upon this world of death. You have the ability to cast powerful spells and unleash powerful creatures throughout the worlds of the multiverse. With limitless potential and adaptability, it is time to make a choice. Will you side with chandra, in an attempt to defeat Phyrexia's strongest weapon? Or, will you side with Jace and the Phyrexians for the power to rule all.

Either way, you will be able to say to all of your enemies

Here I rule.

A plague has spread throughout Mirrodin, and it's only hope has died. A few years later, a planeswalker named Chandra, on the run from a planeswalker named Jace, had taken temporary refuge in the plane of New Phyrexia (the infected Mirrodin). You're a planeswalker, like Jace and Chandra. You can either team up with a now corrupted Jace in an attempt to gain ultimate power, or side with Chandra to destroy Jace and the Phyrexians.

Color Wheel - Each color in the color wheel has a different focus. No two colors are the same, though the powers of two may be identicle.

Green - The color of power and mana. Green likes to get out strong things fast. They can summon beasts, ogres, elves, and even live trees.
White - The color of law and life. White can summon angels, soldiers, knights, and can also heal themselves quite well.
Blue - The color of control and thought. Blue is often smarter than it's enemy, countering what the enemy does while staying a few steps ahead of them.
Black - The color of Death and Decay. Black can corrupt an enemy and drain energy. Black focuses on Zombies, Vampires, pretty much anything horror-film related
Red - The color of Fire and Recklessness. Red can summon creatures of fire, lightning and earth to destroy those in it's way. It's famous for goblins, dragons, and destructive spells.

Cohosts:
ArchmageCarn
Codename: Lady

Name: Jace Beleren
Color: Blue
Age: Unknown
Job: Jace is the leader of a secret organization who's intentions are to gain knowledge of everything. As of now, his job is to retrieve a stolen scroll from Chandra Nalaar, but he's become infected by the Phyrexians and his motives are begining to change.
Bio: Jace's unique gift of telepathy manifested very early in his life, oft times to his parent's immense embarassment. As such, his father sought the assistance of the local mage known as Alhammarret. Alhammarret took Jace from his father, and allowed him to apprentice underneath him, where Jace spent years learning new spells and talents, and most importantly, feeling welcome for the first time in years.

It was not to last though. Jace eventually became strong enough to try his talents against his master, and learned the shocking truth of his own existence. That his spark had ignited over a year ago, dipping him into the blind eternities only for a moment, and Alhammarret had lied to him about what had happened. His teacher told him his illusions had backfired and not to concern himself with it, and secretly told Jace's father about it. It was agreed they would not tell Jace.

Jace seethed over this news for days, holding his temper close to his heart until finally, during one of their practice sessions, Jace snapped. Jace slipped into his mind and unleashed all of his rage and pain at once, completely destroying Alhammarret's mind. Jace left, a wanted individual everywhere within a hundred miles of his hometown. Finally, Jace erased his own memories, so that he would never have to see his teacher's face again and feel the weight of what he had done.

Eventually, Jace had wandered into the plane of Phyrexia. He was oddly welcomed with open arms. Soon, whispers from the Phyrexians began to cloud his judgement. They told him of powers no man has gained before. Jace wasn't interested in any of this, until the Phyrexians began to share secrets with him. They told him that, should he remove all of their enemies, he would gain all of their knowledge. Accepting this, Jace became their ultimate weapon.
Loyalty: Phyrexia
Appearance:

Abilities: Jace Beleren is a human planeswalker that is incredibly intelligent and adept at blue magic, with such talents as clairvoyance and illusion. His specialty, though, is in the art of inborn telepathy which makes him extremely unique within the multiverse. He has a reserved and decadent nature and a troubled conscience, as he has made some poor decisions in the past

Name: Chandra Nalaar
Color: Red
Age: Unknown
Job: Thief/Wanderer
Bio: There's no virtue in subtlety—at least not as far as the fire-mage Chandra Nalaar is concerned. Impulsive, passionate, and short-tempered, she's as ready to explode as the pyromantic spells of her ever-growing repertoire. Chandra's spark ignited when she was still quite young, and as she has grown, so have her abilities as a wielder of fire magic and as a planeswalker.

As a source of immense and unpredictable power, authority figures have sought to restrict and control Chandra, which comes into direct conflict with her need for independence and freedom. As Chandra's wild inner fire comes in contact with world after world of rules and strictures, the results are sure to be explosive.

Loyalty: Chandra
Appearance:

Abilities: Chandra is a pyromancer. She has complete manipulation of fire. She can also create fire, and creatures made of fire. She can use mana from mountains in order to summon powerful fire elemental beings. As a planeswalker, she also has the power to travel through planes. Once angry, Chandra's power greatly increases. Her fire becomes stronger and lasts longer, and her creatures inherit her rage.

Name: Vizik Intrillitros
Color: Mainly Blue, but with a little bit of White.
Age: 27
Job: Scholar. He is renowned for using his magic to gain knowledge. he is however, quite adept at magic that is more... combat oriented. (What kind of minions would blue summon?)
Bio: From an early age, Vizik was driven by knowledge. He was always a very strange child, and was often bullied. However, his intelligence and memory are vast. He discovered he was a planeswalker when he was 19. He was testing himself to see if he was a planes walker, ironically.
Loyalty: Chandra
Appearance: http://www.google.co...iw=1280&bih=672
But his eyes would be wider, and his hair would be short and clean cut.
abilities: Vizik is very adept at magical aquisition of knowledge using blue magic. Also using blue, he summons units that employ advanced technology. Blue is supported by White healing and disciplined infantry.

Name: Itsu
Color: Red/White
Age: 7,624, but doesn't look a day over 24.
Job: Traveler
Bio: Itsu is not from any of the known planes that most planeswalkers have heard of or explored. She is from a far-away part of the multiverse where children's card games determine the fate of mankind on many an occasion. She protects these universes, but has occasionally traveled to other universe far from her "neighborhood" to seek or provide assistance, or simply explore. Now she has finally summoned up the courage to dive deep into this cluster of planes, only to find herself stranded on Mirrodin, with her Emerald Eclipse Amulet, the source of her ability to travel through space and time, stolen by Phyrexian researchers. Now, she has to somehow get her amulet back before the Phyrexians discover her true nature as a creature made up of only 15% of her original organic matter, wrapped up in a nanite shell. If they do, they will take her, melt her down, and remake her as a Phyrexian harbringer to help her new brothers and sisters spread their beliefs across the various universes outside of New Phyrexia. But if the Mirran Resistance discovers her true form, they might cast her out, realizing she is just as metallic as their oppressors. While what little magical talent Itsu had before coming to Phyrexia has been amplified, she is still a novice when it comes to spellcasting. But she brings experience to the table, and centuries upon centuries of it.
Loyalty: Chandra
Appearance:

Itsu has changed from her usual red and black to something more fitting of her true alignment. She now wears red robes with white trim, taken (quite literally) off of the backs of some of the Machine Orthodoxy. Her leather outfit has been replaced by sleek, form-fitting battle armor, and she carries her trusty monomolecular sword with her. Finally, her long red and black hair has become red and white, and tied into a long braid. She still has her fins, but they have the white accents instead of black. Her blue and gold eyes, normally filled with warmth, are as cold as the steel she is encased in, and she is ready for combat...as soon as she learns how to cast magic...
Abilities: Normally, Itsu can travel through space and time and pull objects out of subspace, but no that her amulet has been taken, she can't do any of that. She managed to get a few things before they took it, such as her monomolecular sword, which can cut through anything not protected by magic, and a survival kit. Since she is mostly made from millions of tiny robots, she is, essentially, liquid metal, and can shapeshift (within reason), and since it isn't an illusion, magic can't pierce through it. Also, she can withstand grievous wounds, simply rebuilding herself around any wounds, though this will reveal her true nature to anyone watching that she does not shed blood, but is simply as metal as the foes of the Resistance. She can also withstand extreme heat and cold, to an extent, though powerful electrical emissions can stun her.
She is learning a bit of magic, but needs some training and assistance in learning more. She is very experienced in the art of war, and can help the Mirran Resistance intelligence-wise. Other than that, she is simply trying not to get captured by the Phyrexians, out of fear of what she might become...

I did so. She isn't as good at magic as the other Planeswalkers (in fact, it's one of her main weaknesses), but she makes up for it with her brains and her sword.
It would be interesting to have her captured, just as an idea, but the Phyrexians would have to first discover her true nature as mostly metal.

Name: Vizik Intrillitros
Species: Half Human, half Nerrikon (Nerrikon are a species I invented. They are an insectoid species that have naturally greater intelligence than most species. Their arms have pores that shoot biologically driven magic shots.)

(Must avoid geeking out over white being depicted as good, and as the opposite of black)

Forgive the above, I am as avid an MtG player as I am a YGO player.

Name: Taseer, the Scribe

Color: WUBRG

Age: 40,000+

Job: Recorder of Events
Taseer was born into a large family, with separate branches of her family tree spread out over the different colors. This itself was made possible by the flowing mana of her home plane. This was fine on this plane. Yes, the White and Red had their disagreements over how emotion should be expressed. Yes, Green and black had complex discussions concerning the life cycle. But they found agreements in these discussions over time. They always had. Taseer's entire life was based around these little compromises.

Then it was time for Taseer to become a Mage.

Her family argued for hours on end, on which discipline she might go under. Unlike other previous arguments, this one failed to quickly see compromise. And so years passed, Taseer simply drew mana from the locations around her plane, and channelling it out. A basic practice, but it farmilliarized her with the ideologies of each color. Each colors' vie towards superiority over the others.

When Taseer had returned home from a particularly enlightening day, she suggested to her family that she learn of all five colors and their styles. This merely served to further her elders' rage. This time, though, the anger was directed at her.

And in that moment, the one thing that made Taseer unique out of millions of people decided to act.

Taseer's spark ignited.

As the energy coursed through her body, Taseer accidentally planeswalked away.

***

Esper. A shard that used its mana to further technology. A place where knowledge was held in the highest regard. Taseer's random planeswalking led her here. Here she learned more on the importance of logic, and how to fend off attacks with counters and return the favor. Once she reached her potential and needed to leave Esper to improve, she was given a strange etherium tablet, and sent on her way.

The tablet, after analysis, held a history of the planes, as told by planeswalkers throughout eternity. It contained an objective viewing on the history of everything. And it was now Taseer's job to continue the log.

***

After observing the Eldrazi, and their rampage through Zendikar, Taseer followed Jace, as he left the plane. Arriving on Mirrodin, Taseer traced the spread of the Phyrexian oil, eventually finding Sheoldred, the Whispering One, infecting Karn with her words. The Praetor had an offer to this intruder. In exchange for supplies of information, Taseer would write the history of Mirrodin, including the words of the Grand Cenobite, the experiments performed by the Core-Augur, even attempting to discern the intentions of Urabrask, the Praetor tasked with the forge.

And Taseer, willing to accept information, agreed.
Loyalty: Phyrexia

Appearance: Taseer is one of the many human planeswalkers, and as such appears to have a basic human anatomy. She usually wears a hooded cloak over a basic set of clothes, symbolizing her traveler status, while carrying her etherium tablet and a special stylus to record the happenings on a plane.

Abilities: Taseer, having an understanding of mana and it's different shapes and forms, is able to cycle her focus from color to color, quickly refreshing her knowledge, changing old spells for new, all inside her mind.
As an additional ability, because she is able to cycle rapidly through spells, she has the ability to terraform, changing a land's appearance as well as its mana if she needs a certain mana focus, or ruining an opponent's.

I'm completely fine with the character, on two conditions.

1)Your magic mastery cannot be above those of one or two colored planeswalkers. Meaning a white planeswalker would be stronger with white magic than your character, and a white-blue planeswalker would be stronger with both white and blue magic than your character.

2)Terraforming is ok as long as corrupt lands stay corrupt and Noncorrupt lands stay uncorrupted.

Also, I didn't say black was the evil color because I don't believe that. I simply said it was the color of death and decay, meaning that's what planeswalkers in black frequently focus on. I didn't want to go to far into detail on the new phyrexia color wheel because it says "Screw the rules I have aids" to the normal rules of colors, so I went with the basics.

Also, white IS the opposite of black. They're on the opposite ends of the color spectrum. Just like green is the opposite of blue.

It was implied. Unless Capialism is Death and Decay, and Fascism is like Healing...

I'm hurting my chances, aren't I?

Also, white IS the opposite of black. They're on the opposite ends of the color spectrum. Just like green is the opposite of blue.

What? Is this from the Bio? Where did I say this?

Edit: Oh, found it. Black and white do share ideologies, but don't apply them the same way.
Instance 1: Lifelink
Instance 2: White systematically eliminates it's weakest links. Black takes any mishap and eliminates it. Yes, there's a difference, but the same idea gets through.

I should shut up now.

But that's like saying green and blue are the same because they can both get rid of creatures, even though they have different means of doing it. I mean, every color has similarities to some degree. We just have to (you're accepted by the way) go over what each color is.

White is mixed of elements of green and blue
Blue is mixed with elements of white and black
Black is mixed with blue and red
Red is mixed with Green and Black
Green is mixed with White and Red

Every color takes a note of their ally colors, so white is just taking the same notes blue did from black. Also, Black has changed a bit in that it's more about what vampires do than anything else. Magic is trying to push a blue mill, green power, red instant, White weenie, and black vampire mechanic on its players.

I just don't want to confuse the newer players. If this were for advanced magic players I wouldn't have posted anything about the color wheel. It's a lot easier for people to think of black as what bad people do and white as what good people do, even though it's not neccessarily true.

Name: Garmr Noctornus
Color: Black
Race: Rot Demon (Pretty much what Phage and The First were back on Daminaria)
Gender: Male
Plane of Origin: Phyrexia (I know, but wouldn't it actually be cool to have a pure blood Phyrexian Planeswalker?)
Age: Unknown, looks about in his early 20's
Job: Necromancer and Terrascarer (Term I made up, pretty much hes one of the corrupters, but instead of corrupting inhabitants, he actually corrupts the mana and turns it to Black)
Rank in Phyrexian Invasion: General due to his courage in the first invasion of Daminaria, and being one of the few survivors or Urza's rage.
Bio: Being born in the realm of Phyrexia, Garmr knew only death and decay from as far back as he can remember. It was in the invasion of Daminaria, from the original rift created by Urza, that Garmr first experienced the flow of other mana. He was part of the first invasion squad sent to conquer the realm, and it was here, that he died. Yes, he died in the invasion of Daminaria, at the hands of Urza himself. His body was taken back to Phyrexia and as he faded, a spark ignited in his mind, bringing him back to life, well, kind of. In the rebirth, his body changed. Much like when Jeska was slain by her brother Kamahl with the Mirari sword, and given the unhealing wound, from which Phage, The Untouchable, was born from Braid's magic, Garmr was born from the mana of rotting trees and the surrounding horrors seeping into his wounds. His skin became like a plague to everyone who touched him, even his own kind. With the knowledge of the other realms, even from before becoming a planeswalker, he eagerly wanted to join the conquest of Mirrodin. Like Jace, he is driven by power, wanting more and more as each second passes, and he will stop at nothing to obtain it.
Loyalty: Phyrexia
Appearance:

Abbilities: As stated before, he can corrupt the mana flow around him, and turn it black, like all Phyrexian's he thrives off black mana. Also, his touch is fatal, so anything living that touches him starts to rot. It wont always kill, but given enough time being unchecked, the rot can in fact spread to the infected's heart and kill. Sadly, it also means that his clothes have to be made of silk or something that was never alive, even things that are dead, still will rot from touching his skin. Unlike normal Necromancer's he cannot touch or stitch together corpses so in turn, he has reanimated skeletons, and found a way to graph Psuedo skin on them, giving them more stability as undead, rather than just being a thing of bones.

Hope you like it
