The new OCG is fine for me though, whats the problem?

Konami want to clear the misunderstanding about removed from the field and removed from play in order to kids at age 9-11 knows the different
I accept that 'Leave' and 'Banish' were needed to stop 'Removed' from pulling triple shifts, but the rest of the changes are so unneeded. I thought the whole idea of this change was to make effects shorter and clearer. They've done the opposite.

E-HERO Nova Master: 'Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways.' vs. 'Cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon.'
The latter is shorter, and in my opinion clearer since anyone who looks at the older cards will see the connection.

Wingtortoise: '(The banished monster(s) must still be Fish, Sea Serpent or Aqua-Type after being banished.)'
That's how the rulings on Type-specific effects work. If it needs to banish or send to the Graveyard a specific Type or Attribute to activate, that Type or Attribute must stay the same. You shouldn't need to put it on the card!

Ghost Ship: 'Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand)...'
Again, that's a default ruling. If the card gives no location for its Special Summon, then it is from the hand. We've known this since the first Sets, so why does it need to be written on there now?

Future Glow: '...and note its Level.'
Why, why do we need this?! I didn't realise card-game players were subject to crippling amnesia to the point they forget the Level of the monster they've just picked up and put on the top of their Banished cards...!

Oh F!sh: '...into the Main Deck...'
Yeah, because 'Deck' was so vague...

Technically, that's to stop returning a Synchro Monster to the Extra Deck.

Also, I like the (from your hand/Graveyard/whatever) idea. It actually makes it clearer to newer players who may think they can do the same if it's in the Graveyard if it's meant to just be from the hand.

Are you sure, because if you return a Synchro Monster to the Main Deck, it goes to the Extra Deck anyway. I mean, technically, 'Back to Square One' is 'Discard 1 card to return 1 monster your opponent controls to the Main Deck', but any Fusions, Exceeds or Synchros hit by it are moved to the Extra Deck by their own rulings.

But I thought the whole idea of playing a game is that you knew (at least some of) the rules before starting. And even if that is not the case, why the brackets? Why not just: 'Must first be Special Summoned from your hand'?

@ Everyone: Once events my real life have calmed down a bit, I will be making a Card Academy tournament. Everyone here will be allowed to enter, and it will be split into two tiers, one for the staff and one for the students (as you could probably anticipate). Kyng has told me he would fund the prize pool.

Seems interesting enough. Any other details?
The first rounds would most likely be similar to the Principleship Contest's OCG and Creativity rounds. After that, there will probably be an exam-style round (ie make a card for the situation), before the last couple of rounds being the standard Conditions-Given-Make-Card setup.

Sounds cool. I'll definitely be waiting.

made another card.
lore: when this card is Normal Summoned: Change all LIGHT monsters on the field into face-up Defense Position. When this card is removed from the field: Banish two cards you control to Special Summon this card two Standby Phases after it is removed/ removal? (not sure) This effect can only be used once per duel.

Stars are on the wrong side.

OCG Fix: When this card is Normal Summoned: Change all LIGHT monsters on the field to face-up Defense Position. Once per duel, when this card is banished: You can Banish 2 cards you control; During your second Standby Phase after this effect was activated, Special Summon this banished card.

Thoughts: Not really that useful, since there are better anti-Attribute cards. And because it needs to be Normal Summoned to trigger, it's going into "Monarch" territory, and "Caius" is probably a better effect compared to this for the same cost. Although its return effect is alright, you're more likely to get destroyed rather than banished in the modern game, so it might not trigger.

Right, update. Am currently designing the rounds, but won't put the thread up until I have at least one fully formed (since that way I can keep the whole thing flowing more). The first round at least should be ready by tomorrow morning (GMT).

EDIT: This was on the proviso that people are still around. If not, I'll postpone the start.
