Locals

Recommended Posts

Pretty much just discuss how your locals is, prizes for winning and stuffs.

My locals has Thursday tournaments, $10 entry fee, winner gets a sealed box of latest set.(More packs if more people)
Friday/Saturday tournaments, $6, pack with entry, and money prize based on people.
Saturday, $10 entry fee with money given as a prize based on the number of people.

Santa Rosa has a Sunday local with a $5 entry fee, 4-5 round Swiss, and top prize is, like 3 packs. They don't much care for Yugimonz people, and they're also not registered with Konami.

Rohnert Park just opened up a shop that is ALSO $5 an entry, but they like YGO people a lot more there and there are better prizes (aka more packs)

Petaluma has a local, but I don't know the details since I only go there for Sneaks.

Organized by distance from me.

I have a local card shop... I know they host MTG Locals... no idea if they host YuGiOh so instead, If i ever want to try a locals i'll have to go about 30 minutes to my friends town on the highway <_< I hate that road and all like them
Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways??
They have things I believe on Thursdays and Saturdays... though I'm not too sure about that...

But If I wanna do Locals I'll have to get a deck that is actually worth playing... because I currently have one of the world's worst Chaos Decks...

Weekly locals are pretty bad, about 20-25 people, 4 round and top 4 normally, full of bad players with a handful of better ones, 50p entry fee and winning prize is a Turbo Pack.

Monthly ones on Saturday are much better, it is split into 'duelist' and 'pro', 5 round top 16 prize support for duelist event is normally a legendary collection or a couple of boxes of Gold Series. Pro event the winner's prize is store credit equal to the amount of players x3, so normally about £150

I have about 2 options, gamers guild and crazy frog.

Crazy frog is about 30 minutes away by drive, maybe a bit less.
Entry fee £4 without turbo pack, £5.50 with.
1:00-5:30.
5 rounds of swiss then top 4.

Usually around 15-20 people, probably more.

No one goes to the shop anymore, because they got nothing new after DP Yusei 2; so since this year we meet at a friend's house. He buys stuff via the internet, and we buy the packs from him. After the tournament (around 6-7 ppl), we one pack per person and each one chooses one card, starting with the winner, then the second, and so. Then the first one selects another, and so until there are no more cards.

That actually seems like a very solid plan.
