Your donations go to keeping the forum updated and constantly evolving. If you donate to the site, you in return, will be given VIP status. VIPs have special privileges that regular members don't have. It would be unfair, and they would be left out. Also, I see that you can do what some mods can do. I'm pretty sure that only Mods can lock threads for a reason. It has been said over and over that this forum is not a Democracy, not everyone is equal. Locking your own threads shouldn't be a problem, seeing as the only uses it serves would be to lock one of your necro'd threads or to control a flame war. Any exploiting of powers can simply result in losing them. @bold: Thanks Captain Obvious! You would wither get your parents to or you wouldn't get the VIP slot. It's not like the VIP Section would wreck the amount of post that the other sections get, it would simply be used as a relay section between the forum and the Mods. Because those who pay for the forum should get a say (no matter how mall) in what direction it moves. And I doubt EVERYONE that could pay would, because the perks are not [i]that[/i] glamorous. It's not really a difficult thing to grasp, you pay money to help the site...then you get rewarded/thanked for your donation. It works well on many other sites, so the only way this would fail is if YCM's members are as bad as we say. Everyone keeps looking at this from the view of the perks, when it fact this suggestion is to install a donation system which would get used. The perks are strictly up to YCMaker and the Mods, these are just my brainstorming. So everyone should stop shutting the idea down because the perks are dumb, that's not the point. Getting a donation system would allow for further improvement and growth. For example, wouldn't you like to see more skin choices? How about that time when YCMaker gave away those booster packs?
