I'd give it my best, but our Mod team's pretty solid right now. I don't think they'll need anyone else unless some of them go inactive.

I've never really seen him take charge or even act strict before. Being widely liked isn't that important, or a lot of people who aren't mods WOULD be and a lot of people who ARE mods wouldn't be.

If he ever gets the chance and proves me wrong, I will gladly admit it. I just can't see him as taking the mantle up very well. D:

The only time I've seen anything like that was by Mods...who are, you know, Mods.
I only hang in General, Clubs and Multimedia. LZ and Mugen run tight ships for the first two and I never really see anyone spam in Multimedia.

If I am to say so myself, I personally feel it would be easier to deal with a section with a clear code of conduct, than this place. inb4birdiecallsmeoutonhowthisismucheasierformethanCCisforJosh

I never know whether I'm doing a good job, because by the very nature of the section authority is delegated almost entirely from my hands. ;~;

I won't say it's easier, cause it isn't. But it isn't exactly harder either. This is your section Monkey, you were practically destined to moderate this section as a moderator. You're doing a great job with it. You have a problem I do, you're never sure about what you do. :'o

I don't think Black was really meant to moderate CC. I think that's what made the mod position so... Kinda undesirable once he got it.

Clubs isn't too hard to moderate, depending on the thread. It's only when people really trim down on their posts and don't really [i]say[/i] anything in their posts when a Mod needs to give them a small pinch.
And in the old days they'd have to make the club stay "on topic", but the nature of Clubs fights directly against that.

These two are actually things I discussed with Opal before taking up the position. You can't force two people conversing to never change the subject. Conversations drift naturally into other stuff. For example, like I'm doing now by explaining this. The trick is knowing when you've [i]gone too f***ing far.[/i]

The Post Count being disabled is something I didn't exactly like either. It was like saying "oh, this is basically just as full of rubbish as Games is! Why not just let them spam freely? They won't get their post count, so go ahead!" It almost felt like they were voting on giving up on C&O.

I agree with this. I mean, if they wanted to disable post count in C&O, there's really no real reason to have rules here anymore. I personally want the section to not become a pile of trash, so enable post count, realize conversations drift, and control it when it goes too far.

It was agreed by general consensus. I can't give you the long version because of where it happened, but it's not like it was unjustified. The team just didn't like the idea of members becoming big by spamming posts in C&O.

I mean, remember the days when [s]Jesus[/s] Rod roamed the [s]Earth[/s] Board, when top posters would have 100 posts per day or so? That was nuts. Thales and Rod got post-locked because of it. The place was spammy.

Though, I like to believe it isn't nearly as messy as it used to be. Maybe a place or two. *coughacertaindatingclubcough*

This is one of those things where I understand both sides of the argument. I get that Clubs encourages spam because it's easy to join in and carry on a conversation here and rack up posts (I admit I was keeping an eye on mine every day egging the numbers to rise on), though I also think cases where people are racking up that many posts are when Club Mods should keep an eye on them and give them warnings if all of their posts aren't constructive or non-spammy.
The other thing is, what's the big deal about post count? Just a number, isn't it?
There's a ton of more upstanding members that have less than 5,000 posts compared to those with over 20,000.

Even when you look at the community, nobody judges each other based on their number of posts (not anymore at least), they judge them based on their character and the things they say.

If the entire Mod team decided it, I guess it won't be coming back for a while at least. But I think going back wouldn't be so bad either so long as people work together to maintain legitimate discussion and tone down spam :]
