Fusion X. Denver
I wouldn't know, I went for FMA's dub. I think the 3rd Hokage to be honest. He was able to hold off 2 Hokages and Orochimaru as an old man; imagine him in his prime.
Lt. Colonel Remo
I know but at the same time Anko sincerely wished that the 4th was there to fight Orochimaru and the 3rd Hokage thoroughly seemed afraid of the prospect of having to fight the 4th when Orochimaru was summoning only realize that the summon failed due to the Death God. So....
Fusion X. Denver
The 4th would probably have gone on to become the strongest had he lived longer, but he didn't. He WAS strong at the time, but I think the 3rd was just nervous about taking on 3 Kages as opposed to 2. My main reasoning being 4th was even with Tobi, who stated he was weaker than Madara in his prime, and the 1st was stronger than Madara.
Lt. Colonel Remo
I don't think the current Madara is an accurate representation of how strong the 1st must have been to take him down After all, he DOES have Senju cells and he has rinningan which I doubt he had during his fight with Shodaime Tobi kind of ran away before anything could happen. The 4th was guy who could freaking teleport and recreated the tailed beast bomb for humans. I don't know how the 3rd or Madara would react to someone fighting on that calibur =/
Fusion X. Denver
I don't think there's any real way for us to gauge Minato's strength since we've only seen him in one fight. He may have beaten Tobi, but he did say that it all came down to who was faster with their space/time jutsu, so Tobi could have beaten him. I still want to say the 3rd or maybe the 1st, but not like any of that matters since Naruto will take the title of strongest once he becomes 6th Hokage >.>
Spirit of DMG
How do you know Naruto will be 6th? He just might end up being not a Hokage at all, since his habit of running headlong into battle will get him killed before that happens.

Lt. Colonel Remo
Yeah, considering how his father had the same goal of being recognized by everyone and became hokage, it's only logical to do it for Naruto as well
Fusion X. Denver
Not to mention the main character's made that the main goal he set out to accomplish from the very first chapter over ten years ago. If he doesn't get his dream, then the manga loses the whole purpose for it being made in the first place.

And you've strained our relationship with the Hidden Cloud by causing the Raikage to lose his arm and attempting to kidnap his little brother for your personal gain. And we know you've teamed up with the masked man that sought to ruin the whole world with a genjutsu. But we've decided to forget all that. Here, come lead our village to a better future!" HitoKage
Have we discussed the 'one technique' yet? I feel it's an advanced form of the kamui that allows tobi to move between the dimensions. And yeah, either Naruto becomes Hokage or recognized as a hero by all the villages if he dies.

These are the two feasible [s]and only[/s] theories suggested.
I think the way Tobi's power might work is when he absorbs something, he has to send it somewhere else, but it goes through the pocket dimension we saw a while back first. And Kakashi's Kamui is capable of reaching that dimension, so Kakashi could intercept with what was taken and take control of where it comes out, in this case Tobi's shoulder.

I think that when Tobi phases through the attacks, he sends that specific part of his body into the alternate dimension. Therefore, in the alternate dimension, all there is is his arm and shoulder floating in mid air. So when Naruto attacked with Rasengan, Kakashi used Kamui to send the Rasengan into the alternate dimension to strike Tobi's shoulder. So in the real world, we see the Rasengan vanish and Tobi phase through the attack, but in the alternate dimension, we see the Rasengan hit Tobi's shoulder. Then once Tobi was hit in the alternate dimension, the hit simultaneously occurs in the real world. Since Tobi has nowhere else to transfer his body, he is screwed and has to take the damage. I hope I'm making sense. But the "one Jutsu, not two" thing may be a curveball.
I would hope Naruto becomes Hokage rather than dying. It'd be too sad an ending that way :/
Spirit of DMG
You sure it'd be sad? Yeah, people might shed tears at first, but after that, they'll start remembering the graffiti on the Hokage Faces.
