TCK - Third Culture Kid.
Basically, the two of us.
And I still win, because my first words were "Diesel engine."
I'm not lying. Speaking just came late for me.
....my first word was light

and there's a little light at the top of every airplane seat

DL, I pointed at a legitimate diesel engine and said "diesel engine".
So there.

Black, the culture that you're from is your first culture.
If you move to a place with a different culture, that would be the second culture you're exposed to.
If you assimilate between those cultures, then that assimilated culture is your third culture.
Basically, kids that are exposed to a third culture are... third culture kids. TCKs.
I'm not sure if different states are considered different cultures. Personally, I don't consider them different cultures, but I'm not an expert in these fields, so don't take my word for it.
My story isn't really worth telling. I'm just from a traveling family and I've lived in different places.
But I haven't experienced what you've experienced, so I just have a different viewpoint towards traveling.
To me, as long as you aren't justifiably xenophobic and/or you can accept differences, you're fine.
If you can't do either, well... yeah.

Everything you stated requires familiarity with her first.
Unless you want to be creepy.

And that's cool. My parents traveled a lot due to my dad's job...and they ran into someone who knew him almost everywhere they went.
In Paris?

I had an argument, but I forgot it.
You win this round.
Though I'm still probably gonna have some trouble...

Nah, that was in their pre-kid days.
Since us, we've really only been to Canada, Hawaii, Seattle, Switzerland (just me), and Florida. Although a family trip to Ireland is currently in the works in celebration of me and my cousin graduating this year.

I will. Honestly, since I'll be legal there, I'm thinking about getting hazed with my cousin just so I know what being drunk feels like so I won't be tempted with curiosity when I go to college. Not like we're driving and we'd be with family.

I have traveled a lot I suppose. Traveling's fun. I'd travel the world if I could afford to.

I know college will be different. Believe me, I'm looking forward to it.

Definitely.
There is a spectacular view at every single vantage point in the valley .-.
On the ground, in a bus, on the mountainside, from the top (when it's not cloudy), there is always something to look at.
And the villages are like the ones you see in storybooks. If I ever had to become a hermit, I'd live in the Alps.

DL, I might agree with you if I ever get the chance to go there.
Buuuut Ghana happened. And that was probably the best beach I've ever been to.
Probably because I played "Here Comes the Sun" with an acoustic guitar at sunrise.
It was a troll sunrise, though. Just the horizon was cloudy.
So we could see the sun after the sunrise was over.

I've never been to Ghana but the beach in Brazil (strangely enough, the ONE beach near my house is the best one, due to to one of the old mayors, who applied a sort of system that kept the beach clean) is the best beach I've ever been in, by far

And the cleanest~

And...that's pretty awesome

Trying to stare at the sun after sunrise here...would hurt, as expected

Well, At first I thought I was dead. But then the (false) logic of the rock temporarily lulled me back to reality. And so I decided to kill myself as a way to rid myself of any nerve racking understanding of the impossible

I swear, Cortez's nickname should be the joke killer
If Kabuto is in Root, why did they let him do the Chunin Exams? To thwart Orochimaru?
Or maybe to convene with him. Oro and Danzo might have still been doing business and Danzo knew he'd come to the exams, so he had Kabuto go meet him.
Or something.
Didn't I already state my theory on this?
I think the fundamentals of each mode are the same, like the stronger taijutsu, sensory functions, etc. The only real difference is the appearance and certain techniques, obviously the latter is learned from whatever animal they saw, but the former depends on how they learned to feel and absorb natural energy.
Naruto used frog oil to do so, which I believe led to his frog-like appearance.
Kabuto must have used snake oil or some sh*t and became that thing.

... point taken.

@ Fuse
But if you still absorb too much nature chakra, you turn into a frog.
Because the Preta Path turned into a stone frog when it absorbed too much of Naruto's nature chakra.
And since the Preta Path can only absorb chakra, I don't think that would work.
Now I want to see Kabuto fight the Preta Path...

In hindsight, it's probably going to be, "Oh, we have different kinds of Nature Chakra, like how there are different kinds of normal chakra."
And I'll say, "Screw you."

Well, it'd kinda make sense.
Or look at it this way, why would natural energy turn you into a frog anyway? Why not a blade of grass or a Christmas tree?
Naruto and Jiraiya learned to absorb natural energy on Mount Myoboku, where the environment is frog-focused. So they become Frog Sages.
Kabuto learned at whatever place it was with a focus on snakes, hence him becoming a Snake Sage.
So I think it depends on how you learn to absorb it. That's why Naruto and Jiraiya can still turn frog-like despite not being in the similar environment.

Well, Kabuto technically became a dragon, for starters*shot*
Here's the main problem I have with the different kinds of nature chakra.
If you train yourself to absorb a specific kind of nature chakra, it's basically saying that this one thing exists in all parts of nature.
Which would apply to the same thing for another kind.
The way I see it, living in an environment with only the kind of nature chakra you're looking for means you are being trained without awareness to the different kinds of nature chakra.
Thus, when you go out of said training place, you'll absorb all kinds of nature chakra around you, including that of a snake and, probably, a slug.
And you basically become a monstrosity of nature.
It's like holding a magnet over a hundred grains of metals expecting just one to rise.
The only way "type" would work is if it was like the Tailed-Beast Bomb, where it's, like, a "light" and "dark" nature chakra, and different ratios will create different kinds of sage mode when used correctly.
And the Frog sage mode is just easiest to control ratio-wise.
Which is why Naruto and Jiraya were able to control it (at least moderately for Jiraya), while it screwed up badly for Orochimaru.
... and probably why they included that concept in the first place.
... I just made a theory on the spot. Well, that answers my question.
