[spoiler=Aight, "short" version.]

Vongola almost got killed, but were saved by deus ex machina in the form of Chase, Desutodo and a black-cloaked dude named Death (we find his name out later). Deustodo found Death standing amidst a sea of bodies, there were actually around 50 more Inactive waiting to get the Vongola, but all were soundly defeated by this one man.

Some stuff happens and El hooks up with Rui Karnon, Rogue's cousin. Ninjew, Rogue and Rui all live with Rui's dad, Sabakuro, at Karnon Kills, the weapon shop. You might remember Flandre Scarlet attacking us there, mostly Dranzer fought him.
But Rui decides to set Chris up with one of her friends, Rosa Seijo, and they, Chris and El go on a double date on Christmas to see an RP.820 play in town...strangely uninterrupted by any Inactive (perhaps even they shared Christmas spirit?)
They all hit off well, Chris learns Rosa had an older brother who was in the Banned, but was killed by the Inactive, hence why they couldn't let her stay with them.
Suddenly, the play is sabotaged by arson, but recently escaped Club Pikachu members (who were aided by Thomas King in the escape) helped put it out and later went away quietly by Banned official and the Mods.
The night concludes with Flame and Roxas found unconscious, apparently defeated in combat by the cloaked man called Death, who is in business with Life. Life sends him on a mission to Japan.
The Akatsuki, Fake Type Knights and certain other Banned members are sent to Japan for a mission. Jake the Sage and Thomas King sneak onboard.

In Japan, Jake meets with Umbra, a man who was once the leader of the Mods, until he betrayed them, manipulated by Life (this wasn't known to anyone at the time). He hid away in Japan since then, thanks to his friend, Frunk (the mayor of Yugo City).
Meanwhile, Chris and Rosa (oh yeah, the Seijo family went to Japan at the same time on her father's "business") meet up with the rest of the Banned members, who all meet with Frunk. Frunk informs them their mission is to oversee the success of Project 37.
They go inside an underground chamber (more like world) and see 37 ginormous spaceships.

Here's where I start pulling convenient plot devices outta my a$$.
Flashback to FTK vs Club Pikachu: When Aqua was hospitalized, DL saw someone doing something to her. A minute later, Aqua was completely restored to normal, wounds healed. The truth, explained by Deus, is his friend Ben visiting from another dimension implanted an object from his own world that healed Aqua. The object formed this substance in her body that was noticed by Banned officials through medical check-ups. Extracting the substance, they discovered it acted as stem cells for any substance. Used in coordination with other scientific devices, it could create any object at any size and any number, endlessly replicating itself in a process similar to cell division. Thus, they were able to create 37 giant spaceships able to house the entire global populace (whose designs were stolen from Creator).

The plan is to evacuate the entire world so the Banned can properly wage war with the Inactive without risking innocent lives. Any who chose to stay on Earth would be responsible for themselves. (Life made the world into a bomb and a trigger to it strapped in his body, tethering his life with the world's, in case you forgot). Funnily enough, Rosa's dad was one of the scientists working on the project. Chris meets him and hits it off well.
However, Ragnarok (leader of the Banned) finds out (forgot how) that Life found out about Project 37 and was en route to Japan to stop it. Hence, Rag flies off to Japan as well.
Turns out Life made it to Japan already though. Jake and King stumble upon them and fight Aka (Life's daughter) and Xazeon (Life's son) respectively. But Life and Donovyn come in and sh*t hits the fan. Jake manages to stab Life in the back with a knife, prompting a panicked reaction. It is then that they discovered Life's weakness: if someone could manage to stab the device in his body before he officially died, the bomb wouldn't blow up. King escapes with the info while Donovyn confirms Jake's "death". Donovyn stays behind with the unconscious Jake while Life and the rest leave. It is then Death of all people comes in and talks with Donovyn, confirming they're in cahoots. This conversation and certain details from the Creator fight determine Donovyn's still planning to kill Life, through any means. Death leaves stating he will bring about Life's end.

Next day, Chris, DL, El, Rosa, and Rui are getting ready at their hotel to meet up with the rest of the Banned at the Project 37 groundsite. But before they can make it, the samurai Hito ambushes them. Chris takes Rosa to safety while the remaining 3 just manage to defeat Hito. But then Life and Icy appear on the scene and capture them all.
And the Inactive openly wage war with the Banned and other Japanese to sabotage the operation.
Creator fights Donovyn (DMG) who reveals that they share the same mother and are half-brothers. (Remember, DMG revealed Life was his brother, so Creator's family with the main bad guy). Creator lashes out, but loses to DMG, barely left alive.
Meanwhile, DL, El and Rui run into Kari (DL's love interest and Aqua's sister, she got kidnapped with Kana at the Pikachu incident), who reveals Life blackmailed them with Aqua's life, but it was a lie. Then they're all knocked out by a surprise visitor. Oh and right before this, DL and El met Life. Life said he wanted the two of them to join the Inactive for beating Hito, but they run off.
Chris fights Xazeon, while Aka and Rosa look on. Chris barely wins and tries to escape wherever they are with Rosa, but are knocked out.
When DL, El and Rui wake up, they find themselves imprisoned with Hito. Hito curses himself for letting himself be used and acknowledges El (remember, they fought once before this) as his superior and gives him his sword, so El now has two swords that can combine into a legendary blade. El uses it to break them out and they all go look for Chris and Rosa.
Meanwhile, Ragnarok asks Cortez, Ninjew, Rogue and Black to go rescue the DEF and co, their coordinates finally located. Rag is fighting Icy as this happens. The four proceed to fight enemies and trying to make it to the group.
Chris wakes up and finds Rosa unconscious, along with Umbra in the room with them. But Umbra reveals that he is Mr. Seijo, Rosa's dad. He explains he had to keep his double life a secret so his family could live a normal life and that his son, Atman (the one who was "killed") was in fact kidnapped by Life. If Umbra served him, Atman would be freed.
BUT THEN LIFE ENTERS THE ROOM.
Chris told Life off, which prompted Life to teach him a lesson. After informing Umbra he was never gonna keep his promise and that Atman was dead, he goes to attack Rosa. He throws a knife into Umbra, killing him and is met with Chris who gets in between Life and Rosa. All goes black.
When Chris wakes up, he sees Rosa lying in a pool of blood. He desperately tries to reassure her, but knows what's coming. She said she wished she could have heard Chris play a song (was gonna perform at this thing, never got to). A guitar is slid from the shadows, but no one comes out, so Chris settles for playing it. Rosa tells him she loves him and kisses him before dying in his arms.
AND THEN DL, El, Rui, Hito, Ninjew, Cortez, Black and Rogue enter and find this death scene.
However, Project 37 succeeded and began salvaging the Earth's populace. The Banned won this round.

Chris is extremely emo after this, but Black eventually pep talks him out of his slump.
However, Rui goes missing and El finds Icy, Browarod (this big muscle guy) and other Inactive saying they took Rui. If El didn't join, she'd die.
El agrees and gets ready to leave with them the next morning, but he was followed by DL and Dranzer. Dranzer watches as DL and El pull off an awesome Naruto-Sasuke-esque battle. At one point, DL kills off his evil personality, Yuki, who was trying to kill El rather than stop him. DL lets himself be slashed by El and both are taken by the Inactive.
Dranzer goes to report this to the Banned gang. Chris wants to go save them, but Creator decides the best course of action is to fly home and prepare for the final fight.
Chris decides to screw it, but is trying to figure out how to pull it off. Cortez takes him up and shows him Black, Ninjew, Rogue, Dranzer, BT, and some other people with a plane ready. SO BEGINS THE MANDATORY RESCUE ARC.
Inside, Chris is given a new hammer (old one destroyed fighting Xazeon) along with a few mechanical parts from his friends. Eventually they and the rest of the Banned arrive at Inactive's headquarters, Tower of Any Other, and proceed with war. Chris' group infiltrates, but everyone gets split up along the way. Ninjew and Rogue fell into a trap and everyone but Chris and Cortez got stuck fighting people.

One thing leads to another and we're left with two groups: Chris and Cortez, who find Atman alive and well (but pissed about Rosa's death) and Creator, Deustodo, Ragnarok and Emma (Creator's not!girlfriend who gave Chris the plane to rescue DL, El and Rui) with Donovyn.
Chris fights Atman alone and wins with an injured shoulder, promising to avenge Rosa and set him free.
Creator fights Donovyn one last time and kills him with a Moonstone Cannon. Donovyn died with a smile on his face. Creator makes Emma stay behind and his group meets up with Chris and Cortez. It is at this moment they reunite with El and DL, who escaped their imprisonment. But then a booby trap splits Chris, Cortez, El and DL in one hallway and Creator, Deustodo and Ragnarok in the other.

Ragnarok's group runs into Icy. Rag and Icy epically brawl, but Icy uses Creator and Deus to lower Rag's guard and mortally wounds him. Rag does the same to him, but Deustodo kicks Icy off the tower before he can do anything else. Rag dies, managing to clutch a key which can shut off the bomb (hanging around Icy's neck).
But then Creator reveals he actually wants to take over the world. Various elements hinted at this turn of events, which Deustodo foresaw, and so the two fight over the key. But then Death comes from out of nowhere and knocks both of them out.
Flandre Scarlet flies in, the little bugger who attacked the group at Karnon Kills. He had since been redeemed and recalled that he used to be in the Inactive and was one of the people who designed the bomb. He found old designs of his that he could use to sabotage the bomb. Death wakes up Deustodo and has him go with Flandre to shut off the bomb, just in case.

Flashing to earlier, DEF and Cortez come to find that Dranzer had fought Life. While everything else went down, Dranzer found Kari and Kana and tried to help them escape, but met with Life. They had a short fight, but Life ultimately killed Dranzer. At that moment, Browarod comes in and attempts to throw them all out the window, but Cortez keeps DEF inside while he and Browarod fight in the air (Cortez barely winning). Then DEF vs Life happens for a bit until Death drops in from the ceiling.

Quick Death flashback: Death's life was ruined by Life. He was orphaned by him, dedicating the rest of his life training himself to be super strong to one day kill Life. One day, his guardian comes in with a kid off the street named Donovyn. Donovyn and Death (his name's Alurius by the way) then live out their days conspiring against Life. Various plot points are clarified through the flashback, revealing Death and Donovyn having been carrying out this plan and being repsonsible for several key events in the story.
It is then we find out that Death is Ninjew.
YEAH YOU.

I took, literally, pretty much everyone by surprise with your identity. Cortez predicted it, but close enough.

So then DEF and Ninjew duke it out with Life. But before they can win, Life summons a bunch of warriors who were hiding in the walls. There's a ton of them and they're all super strong.
Then Ninjew forms a plan with DEF. He lurches forward with his blade and Donovyn's blade, hacking his way through the elite force, racing against the clock before Life can escape in a helicopter.

As this goes on, Deustodo uses a drill-machine to drill his way towards the lower layers of the earth's crust where the bomb is located. He has Flandre instruct him over mic while he works on dismantling the bomb.

Ninjew, with many swords now stabbed into his back, confronts Life. While he made a path, Chris took all the parts given to him earlier and forms the Banhammer, a hammer needed to be held by the Trio of DEF due to its enormous size. The head has rocket thrusters, several volts of electricity, and other doodads adding to its lethality. Rogue flies in just in time to see DEF slamming the Banhammer into Ninjew's back, who holds his ground with all his strength. The many swords in his back are slammed right through him into Life's torso, stabbing the device and other organs at the same time. Unfortunately, down below, Deustodo shuts off the bomb preventing any other accidental blow-up, but can no longer escape due to the collapsing cavern and destruction of his machine. He swiftly bids the world goodbye and dives into the sea of lava.

And so DEF won it, thanks to Ninjew's sacrifice. Despite the many losses, peace and prosperity returns to the world. Well, not quite. Turns out Creator used Alisurum to clone nanobots capable of killing any human being on the planet by putting themselves in their head. He doesn't rule like Life, though still kind of a dictator. He basically goes about as Lelouch, using his methods to achieve global unity.

Several years later we see some kids: Alejandro Make, Daniel Link, Lisa Denver and Amelia Black. The day in the epilogue reveals the formation of The Free, the new global alliance, in the wake of Emperor Creator's leaving the throne (having accomplished his goal, he set out to explore the world). Meanwhile, we see two older men talking to each other. Hiru (JZ and Aqua's son) and Sven (Ninjew and Rogue's son) stop a mugging and tell the person they saved, in response to the question of who they were, that they were the Fake Type Knights.[/spoiler]

That's my best summary, probably confusing and it's still a long read, but I think you'll be satisfied overall. There are other sub-plots and characters I didn't cover, but that's the basic gist.
When I rewrite this thing, it'll be better written and way easier to understand.

But I had a plot to worry about and how to fit stuff in, not the case with one-shots.
It was hard trying to get everyone to do something, DEF's main fault was too many characters trying to do something cool when I should have stuck with a smaller cast :/
Thankfully I learned from this experience and won't have the same problem with the rewrite.
