Saturn of Elemia
I (personally) think it is a great series, but it isn't all that well-known (here anyway). The atmosphere is definetely dark and scary (dark rooms and ghosts everywhere - and all you have is a exorcising camera), the sense of fear is there (you never know what's gonna be around the next corner - or what's really going on in the place you're in), and it's strangely addicting (you wanna keep going to get the hell out). ☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
Cool, Im going to have to check it out! What other survival horror games are there?
Saturn of Elemia
Well, there's Silent Hill. There's one called Siren that is a little awkward. You have the ability to see through the eyes of your enemies in order to see where they are and their line-of-sight in order to avoid them....and you need to. It only takes about 1-3 good hits from the enemy to kill you - and some of them wield weapons. RE, SH, and FF are really the more mainstream ones. ☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
Hmm, I think i'll get some Silent Hill games, which one should I get first?
Saturn of Elemia
Might as well start with the first one. It (vaguely) explains what the hell is going on in the town. Silent Hill 2 takes place in another part of the town. Silent Hill 3 takes place a bit after the events of the first game. I have no idea where Silent Hill 4 or Homecoming fit in. Silent Hill Origins takes place a little before the first game - and it helps a tiny bit if you played the first one. Silent Hill Shattered Memories is a remake of the original game. ☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
Is the remake one better than the original? So basically, just play them all in order, right?
Saturn of Elemia
Yeah, just play them in order. I haven't played Shattered Memories because the idea just kinda puts me off because there is no fighting AT ALL!! Oh, I just remembered another fun survival horror series that is rather unusual and hard, but fun - CLOCK TOWER
☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
Clock Tower looks fun! I just googled it and looked at the plot and other stuff about it. A TON of multiple endings and its more puzzle solving than aything.
Saturn of Elemia
Indeed. I enjoyed Clock Tower 3 the most - since there was a bit more action to it (Sadly, there wasn't much to the puzzles). The main character was pretty cute to boot IMO.
☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
I'm gunna try and get Clock tower 2 since it has multiple endings, & it's the only that does in America >_>
Saturn of Elemia
The first two Clock Tower games were for the PS1 (I believe) and are REALLY hard to find. Clock Tower 3 isn't AS hard to find, but still. (I still have the player's guide for CT3) Always be on the lookout for Scissorman. (I went WTF when I saw what they did to him in CT3)
☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
What did they do to him? Don't spoil to much for me (If there is any)
Saturn of Elemia
I'll just say this - he looks WAY different. (You just have to see it)
☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
XD LOL I now I see what you mean...
Saturn of Elemia
Yeah... Oh, I remembered a handful of other games that are somewhat survival horror: Haunting Ground (like Clock Tower 3 - except you cannot fight on your own; you have a dog to do it for you and it ain't that good at doing it) Extermination (More action oriented, but it still gets pretty freaky knowing that an alien bacteria is overtaking the base) Cold Fear (Dark ship and oil platform with a whole bunch of monsters? Yeah)
☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
Dang, I looked up Silent Hill, there's going to be a NINTH INSTALLMENT! Wow, I only knew about 4 of em...
Saturn of Elemia
Yeah, I am really looking forward to getting Downpour when it comes out - as well as the Silent Hill Collection when it comes out (it is gonna have 2 and 3 on it, I believe - would've been nice if they include 4)
☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
Cool, I'll have to get it then!
Flinsbon
Hey I know I'm not part of the club (and i wouldn't fit in here anyway - most of my video game time is KH), but my friends made me try Amnesia the other day and man you wanna talk about a horror game phew. My friend screamed at one point while I was playing. We watched a playthrough on youtube; I don't think I've ever heard a grown man scream like a little girl before. idk this just came to mind as I was passing through. Saturn of Elemia
I believe I've seen some of those videos before. That game does look creepy - which means I need to look into it. I shall make sure to wear adult diapers when I do - just in case. Aww, you don't wanna join the club? You might learn about some cool games and it'll broaden your gaming horizons. =D
☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
Do it! Do it! Do it! lol, aren't we the same three people in the sailor moon club!?
Saturn of Elemia
I believe so - and I feel ashamed now for barely posting in that club... I played a little Resident Evil 2 last night and it still bothers me that the knife sucked until Code Veronica. Seriously, the knife doesn't even STUN in the older games. It makes you wonder what is the point of even wielding the knife? If you run out of ammo in the game, then there is a problem. Zombies don't take THAT much ammo to kill, there are plenty of bullets strewn throughout the game, and you don't HAVE to fight everything. Code Veronica at least made the knife viable for a good while - since you can slash at a zombie's legs. If you do it right, the zombie collapses to the ground and gives you time to run past it before it gets back up - or you can start stabbing it from behind while it tries to get up. ☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
The Knife is most useful in RE5 IMO. Do you know when the Code:Veronica remake is going to be released finally? I want to play it in HD!!!
Saturn of Elemia
All I've heard about the Code Veronica and RE4 remakes are that they will be released sometime during the third quarter of this year (which some be hopefully before October). I cannot wait to play it as well - alongside Resident Evil 4. (I wonder what kinds of trophies there will be)
☖☠☗JAXCOB☗☠☖
(PLATINUM TROPHY) Kill the two enemies that will trigger the boulder later on in the game lol I tried that...its literally impossible.
