Every season of that series has been utterly unforgivable. I suppose the point of this thread was to talk about violent anime that also did not suck. I offer you one better, titles that had a tendency towards violence but were also among the best animes ever created, not that crap they aim at the generic anime watching 14-16 year old male audience. Here's your list: Berserk Gungrave Texhnolyze Aoi Bungaku, in a couple of its episodes. Unfortunately there is not enough really solid anime for me to make any more recommendations than this.
