Top 5 Most Violent Anime of all Time

Recommended Posts

Higurashi is very violent as stated above. Then there is Umineko no naku kuro ni which has a great amount of violence itself. Here's a clip from it(children be warned, it's not pretty):

Death Note can be violent at times too.

@Darkplant - PAIN: I've seen a lot of Higurashi episodes(all of Higurashi, all of Kai and all of Rei) and though it get less and less violent as it goes on, the first several episodes have pretty violent scenes. At one point, Rena hacks a young women into pieces and her and her friends hide the remains.

Also, that scene from New Fist of the North Star where that guy chops people up with an axe and their brains pour out.

And is "Akira" really that violent?

The only really violent scene is when Tetsuo hallucinates about his guts pouring out of his stomach. Everything else is standard.

How is repeated baseball bat attacks, torture, stabbing, and ripping out throats not violent?

It's not EXTREMELY violent, but it does have it moments.

don't forget that torture sequence. ;D

I forgot to mention Black Lagoon and Dokuru-chan.

Hey, guys, the anime isn't about violence. It's about stuff like friendship and that sort. It's not gory at all.

The fact that Higurashi is the most mentioned anime in this entire thread is pathetic. Every season of that series has been utterly unforgivable.

I suppose the point of this thread was to talk about violent anime that also did not suck. I offer you one better, titles that had a tendency towards violence but were also among the best animes ever created, not that crap they aim at the generic anime watching 14-16 year old male audience.

Here's your list:

Berserk
Gungrave
Texhnolyze
Aoi Bungaku, in a couple of its episodes.

Unfortunately there is not enough really solid anime for me to make any more recommendations than this.

Good day.

New Getter Robo (Oni appears, kill and infect everyone via biting them. Shooting them in the head is the only way to kill them otherwise they regen. Oh did I mention the pilots are a street brawler, a monk, and an terrorist that kills people via his long sharp finger nails and slashing their eyes?)

Shin Getter Robo Armageddon (Invaders and Black Getter Robo, nuff said.)
