Rideouter
I hope this isn't too long but I COMPLETELY revamped the original story of this fan-fic. I hope you enjoy and I'm always up for critique. [spoiler]Chapter 1: A Story of the Nameless Traveler A young boy, shrouded in the darkness of the night sky was hurriedly running in the forest. “Man!! I’m late. I hope he doesn’t rat me out to my father.” The boy hoped as he ran hastily to the unknown direction. But as he came closer to his supposed destination his full sprint slowed down into a jog. He lifted his nose into the air and breathed in deeply. “That is definitely burning wood. Ah!! We’re cooking something big tonight!! But, I wonder for what occasion?” the young boy asked himself. He then looked into the sky, it was enveloped by very dark smoke. “What the hell?!” He said as he ran closer and closer to a private manor which was shrouded in an immense blaze. Beads of sweat started to develop on his dark skin as his body glows in the light that the flames were emitting. From the same glows the young boy’s body came in full view. Atop his dark skinned head was adorned with a black skull-cap. A long dark blue shirt draped over his body as well as short black shorts. This “Manor” that was filled with several medium sized houses and one large “castle” esque house has been shrouded completely in blaze. The people that were screaming and falling from the flames angered him to the point of confusion. He walked over to one of the hurt people and helped him up from the ground. He placed his arm underneath the old man and flipped him over, scrawling in pain. The young boy asked slowly, “What happened here?” The old man pointed up to the boy’s eyes and claimed, “You…did this. You bastard child.” The young boy’s face screwed itself into confusion. “No!! Impossible! I have been gone since this morning. I could never and would never do su-” the young boy stopped as he noticed that he was yelling at a lifeless corpse. He placed him down and closed his eyes. Slowly getting up, he clenched his fists. “These flames, I definitely sense someone’s Demonic Intent inside them. Yet there is only one person capable of doing this.” The boy dropped his voice for a second. “Impossible. Impossible!!” the boy continued to shout as he walked through the manor. Burning wood falling all around him. Just then he heard two distinct claps coming from above him, he gazed up into the dark purple eyes of a black clothed figure. Standing on top of one of the burning structures. “I do recall this is the first time you have been punctual for anything. What a surprise that it was this time out of any other time.” The figure laughed as he lept down to ground level, a few feet from the young boy. “You came back just in time to witness the final act.” Just then he snapped his fingers and two large hooded men walked into view carrying two adults on their shoulders. They threw them down with a large thud. “Stop it!! This is not you at all!” the boy exclaimed to the figure. “HAHA!! You naïve heir, no final words. This is ‘Curtain Call’!!” “AAAAHHHHH!” Underneath a moonless night sky the dark skinned teenager shouted into the darkness with shadows of orange flames dancing on his face from a small campfire. Looking around, huffing and puffing at what had just transpired he wiped sweat off of his face. “Damnit, this is going to be messing with my head until the day I can finally find and defeat that traitor.” He assured himself as he slowly got off the ground. “Well I guess since I’m up I should start for that next town. Vitense Town better get ready for me cause I will not be stopping this quest of mine.” The teen declared as he walked away, the flame dispersed and smoldered. The next day the teen’s full body was seen in full view in the very bright sun, his body was cloaked in a large blue jacket with a large upturned collar. Large black pants flowed in the wind. But what really caught attention was the very large hilt-less sword strapped to his back. Carrying a light brown sack, draped over his shoulder. As he walked in the desert background he was shielding his face from the harsh sandstorm. Then, with a large thud he came face-to-face with a large sign reading: “Vitense Town”. “Glad I found this place, I was really getting tired of walking around.” The teen sighed. As he walked past the sign he looked around the deserted town. Small dilapidated flats that filled the small sand covered area. “Weird, usually merchants claw at the chance to sell their products. Damn, I could really go for some food right now” He said as he walked around, holding his stomach. He peered into one of the clear windows. Shocked that these were the only things lacking any sign of age or deterioration. “How can there be no one here? This is supposed to Vitense Town. The great cross over town” He continued walking, stopping to knock at random doors. “Young man, are you looking for something?” A gruff voiced asked from behind the boy. The boy turned hurriedly around to see who was of concern. From in between the shadows of two shacks a light-skinned man outstepped. Looking near his mid-twenties with red hair, one side cut short and the other side wild and unkempt, he wore a tightly fitting green muscle shirt and black army pants. “Are you in search of something?” He asked again softly, blocking the harsh sun light from out of his eyes. The boy looked at disbelief “Are you a resident here? Kind of odd to find one person would be living in this place.” Hima asked holding back “The sad thing is, this town has yet to see a visitor for two years now. I spruce it up every now and then just for the hope some visitor finds his way here. I guess you could call me some sort of janitor. So did you purposely land here or are you just drifting by?” “Well actually I was curious about the old well that this town had.” “Oh, you are looking for the ‘Nanji Crown’, am I right? The crown that can transverse time. But why would you need it?” “I was assigned a mission a long time ago, but the person who assigned it to me passed away awhile back. I feel it would only be right to carry it out.” “Sounds like a great mission when one needs to seek and use an important and rare treasure like that. And this town has been said to amass the most treasure hunters in all of this Demonic Realm. Only right for the taking for us demons, am I right?” the man chuckled. Then looking at the displeased look on the boy’s face started up another conversation. “How bad are you willing to go to gain this treasure?” “It really means a lot to me, too much to explain right now. But do you mind if we go inside and rest for a while? I’m kind of tired for today.” The boy asked. The man nodded and gestured him to one of the darker wood huts. Inside he glanced around at the antiquity of the place. The floor was tore up from wear and tear. In the middle of it laid a single wooden table, with two chairs on opposite sides. “Odd.” The boy thought to himself as he took a seat. “Allow me to take your bag. I’m sure it’s feeling pretty heavy right now.” The janitor badgered. The boy questioned what this guy’s motive was, but handed over his bag to escape suspicion. “Whe-” the boy muted his voice as he noticed that the janitor was looking past his head. “So, I don’t suppose you know how to use the Nanji Crown do-” “That is such an elegant sword you have strapped to your back. What is it’s name?” the janitor asked, intrigued as ever. “Um, I rather not talk about this sword.” The boy answered. “Do you mind if I hold it for a while?” he pestered. “I said no!!” the boy said defensively. A shocked look sprang up on the janitors face. He slowly shook his head and got up and walked behind the boy. The boy then braced himself as to what was about to happen. “All I wanted to see was the sword, you could have gotten out of here if you had.” He then said as he placed his hand on the boys back. “Too bad, you’re trash to me now.” He picked up the boy in his palm and slammed his face into the table. He struggled to free his head from the man’s viced grasp. “f***ing stop it!!” the boy yelled with unbelievable fury. The man chuckled to himself as he placed his hand over the boy’s mouth. Then in that instant the boy’s body turned very limb, as if the man was holding a ragdoll. “UUUGGHHH!!” the boy shouted out blindly, finally waking up. “I can’t see!!” he flailed around wildly. “I’m tied up with strong rope while sitting on a cold floor. It smells like chemicals burning. A Chem Lab?” the boy pondered. Then a sudden chill of cold water hitting his boy shocked him up. “AAAAHHH!! MY EYES!!” “HAHAHA!! Yeah, Polity really got him!” the boy overheard from a bellowing man. Somewhere near him. He slowly, opened his eyes, blinking several times. He vaguely made out large silver painted water tanks on either side of the room. And in the middle stood two men, both dressed in white fur collared jackets and green jeans. They were both shaven bald. “Awake now dumbass?” one of them joked as he loomed over the boy. “Where am I at? And what happened to the janitor?” the boy asked. “Our home base! And I don’t appreciate you calling our leader by that title!” he answered while punching the boy in his face. He spit some blood out to the side. “You bastards are going to pay!! I f***ing swear it!! Gi-” The man slapped him in his face a few more times before the boy just sat there with his head hanging. “Save your words. You aren’t going anywhere from here. Especially since you’re tied up with rope made in the Earthen Realm.” He assured. “You hear about it? They say that Earthen Realm made stuff like nullifies us demons’ strength. The curse from being born on this side of the world.” The other added. “And you DEFINITELLY won’t even stand a chance of handling us, let alone our leader. Cause you see, he’s a Blessed Demon. One of the rare few to be born with abilities, ones that have our complete devotion. And soon-” “Earthen Realm rope eh? Heh, that’s too bad. This stuff really rubs me the wrong way.” The boy explained as blood dripped from his face. “You little s***!! Did you not just hear us?!” they both exclaimed into the face of the boy. “Wait, do you smell smo-” A grand explosion erupted from inside the room, slamming the door into the wall of a brick lined hallway. The footsteps of one person pressed through the smoke and debris. “Well, looks like I should give this ‘Blessed Demon’ a little bit of MY blessing.” The boy suggested as he walked out of the room, wiping blood away from his face.
