Resident Fascist
Please note: Outside of Marble, the only non-supporters are all people with obnoxiously retarded names. You'll have to find other ways to overcompensate, ladies and gentlemen. There's no need to wave your annoying symbols in my face. I can ignore your signature in 3.2, but not your name. EDIT:Cursed Reaction didn't support. You is talking bull. Why are you making a big deal over nothing? @SUN: I'm not a douchebag  Does it really matter what someone's display name is on the flipping internet? It's not just you, it's everyone with weird crossed-out characters and overzealous symbols and crap. It should be gone.
Guest Cursed Reaction
I'm not sure what you mean by bold font. The part where it says Moderators in your 'Group' is in bold, but having Roman letters in your name doesn't change that anyway.

Catman25
I was browsing this page when I was not logged in, but now that I am logged in, oddly I cannot read your guys' names. D: I can agree with both sides of this argument. For me at least, I had to create innovative ways to get the name "catman" since it was already taken. But even using a different font for 'c' messed things up, since people couldn't find me in the search. Thus sticking to letters, numbers, and normal symbols should be sufficient. But on the other hand people should be able to have the freedom to choose their username. I would support this, except for the fact that many members are already out of the boundaries. J-Max
I fully support. Sometimes when I access YCM on my PSP, a lot of Member's names are glitched out...

Guest Icyblue
Interesting fact: Before name changes were public. Such names were not allowed, unless done on Registration.
Resident Fascist
I got a question. If you PM a mod to get your name changed, then a month later, you PM a different mod to get your name changed, do you have to wait out the next 2 months for your name change? Guest Icyblue
There's an implied wait, but its really up to whoever you PM.

Wahrheit
No support. Why so, good sir? One should take into consideration the validity of an idea is not determined by the number of people who feel it either way (arugmentum ad popularum), but instead by its sanctity. Cloister
I just don't think this is a good idea. I never use the search engine on YCM anyways. And I don't think removing all symbols from a user's username would do any good. Just get a browser that can display them.

You're sure?
Sweetie Belle
No support. I see no problem with using a full-width alphanumeric, as in Blazing MARS’s case, or symbols in others. Full-width should be, and is, available in all computers with multilingual capability. Also, it looks purdy.

I don't mind the usernames, but I can see how some people might not like it.
CMRenji
I don't really see how these characters hinder any other members. You say that some people may mistake people with these long, special character names for Mods. Mods have a very noticeable image below their Avatar with the word "Staff" on it, so I don't think many people will mistake them for Mods.

Legend Zero
I'm indifferent to this suggestion, but I just wanted to say that those who oppose are idiots. If you don't like/agree with his idea then just say no support, and why. I don't see why some took this as personal. His idea might (slightly) increase the amount of new members this place receives and makes it easier to look at, or that is what I got from it. If you like your names its fine, but saying this is an attention seeking thread makes you look like a whiny toddler. Granted, he shouldn't have called you a douchebag.....but everyone who frequents the TCG section is a little bit douchebag. Also, when Wahrheit says searching he doesn't just mean the forum search, he means searching on Google.

I said this thread was to grab attention, I think he got it.Clearly you're the one who wants attention. Let me be VERY clear. I am Draco Straybyrn. If I want attention, I know how to get it. This is to make a point to a select group of members who thinks they are cooler than everyone else because they know how to copy and paste altcode characters from another site. It's a stupid rendition of High School and the cliques you face on the internet, it promotes douchebaggery, asshattery, and general unfriendliness. It makes you feel like you're in a class above the other users when you're really not, and that's what this is trying to tell you and anyone else who feels they need symbols to "individualize" themselves. Because they're not using it for individualism, they're using it for separation. The worst part is you cannot even recognize it. SO: Kill the stupid names.Earn a higher google pagerank, get more newbies.Piss off fewer people.Destroy the foundation of the slowly-forming caste system.Win the internet. It's not hard. Be mature.
