[i][center]It's summer and the year is, what else? 2011. You and your History Classmates have come on a field trip to [url=http://www.emeraldislerealty.com/area_informationFortMacon.asp]Fort Macon, North Carolina[/url] to find out what had happened there in the past and why it was important at all to your lessons. Two teachers went on this trip and so they decided to split up the group and explore different sections; you, luckily, went into the [b]right[/b] group. Your teacher, Mr. Burk, has been taking you around all of the exhibits and making sure you get all the information you need for his class. You finally get to the part of the field trip any high schooler would wanna see the most, the weapons exhibit. You just get started with Mr. Burks lecture about all these cold old guns and swords and than you hear it; loud screams and yelling from the outside of the weapons exhibit room. Mr. Burk opens the door and all you see are at least thirty zombies attacking everyone is sight and making them zombies as well; you can see your classmates being turned before your eyes but than Mr. Burk slams the door shut and locks it. Now it's just your group and the zombies; Mr. Burk, after making you promise never to ask him why he knows how to, has managed to get some of the display guns firing again but there's not much ammo so he's also found enough sabers and bayonets to accommodate your small group. Mr. Burk explains to you that if we clear all the zombies on the grounds and get to the cannons, he can get those working too, the war begins...[/center][/i]

They were still out there...you could tell by the screaming of your former classmates and friends and then by the sounds of tearing flesh, braking bones, and blood splashing onto the ground in one big collection that made a soundtrack so disturbing that it'd make even the most gruesome of serial killer vomit and cower in fear. That's what they were hoping for, those things, they were hoping that you'd let your guard down and think for even a second you were safe and that you could go outside. They only had to get you for a second, than you were gone, torn to shreds that even the most experienced of investigator could identify your body. The small wooden shutter of the weapon display section of fort Macon opened and Mr. Burk was looking out of it and saw many zombies and people running from zombies and not being successful in that task. Ever since this started Mr. Burk has been the obvious leader of this little renegade group of survivors. "Listen up, in a few moments we'll be going out there." Mr. Burk said and than looked back at his group, closing the shutter and securing it. "I've divided up the little rations of food and bottled water we had into packs for you, there's also some ammo in there for your gun, but it's not a lot at all so don't go wasting it (three extra shots are in the packs with the food and water). This is in case we are to be separated you can still be okay on your own or with a smaller group." Mr. Burk said, and then looked around the room at everyone. "I know your scared, but it's best for you to just sling your packs over your shoulders and get ready to leave." Mr. Burk explained, doing just that.

Luke turned to hear what the teacher was saying. "Are you freaking kidding me? We're going out there, and we're going to get turned into zombies! There is no way I am going out there!" He sad, walking around. He looked through one of the crack in the door, and saw a zombie eat the girl that he was going to invite to go to the prom. He was enraged, to say the least. "You Fat-Headed Jerk! I'll kill you all! Let me out there!" He said, trying to force the door open. Luckily, it was a pull door, and he was pushing. His friend grabbed him, and pulled him back. "Dude, you'll just die, then Jessica's life will be worthless. Now that she's a zombie, when she dies, she'll know that you haven't died yet, and that should give you comfort!" Luke stepped back, and said "Yeah, you're right." He leaned back, and said "When we leave, I get to shoot the most zombies! Especially the one wearing all black!"

"Settle, settle." Burk said, waving his hands at them and helping Luke's friend get him away from the door. "We'll need all of our strength if we want to make it to the top of the fort. Those are our only hope of trying to defend this base so that we can hold out for help." Burk said and then looked out of the window again but soon secured it up again. "Don't worry, as your teacher I promise that I can get those cannons operational and we can get out safely." Hopefully this would bring a little peace at mind to them as they were about to charge at some zombies in a few minutes.

"Alright, I guess you're right. Hey, wern't there some gatling guns back then? I mean, I read on Ikiwpedia that there were guns that acted much like gatling guns in the Civil War. Maybe there are some up on the top, too? If so, I get dibs on it...." He said, standing up. "So, how are we getting up? Can't we just walk up, isn't that kind of obvious?" He started walking towards the stairs, expecting to hear something like "Wait, don't go, the zombies are already up there!" Then he would get mauled, then he would be a zombie with a gun, and he would eat all of his greatest friends. He stopped, and said "Scratch that, I'll wait for you guys.."

ooc: steps are outside, not in the building =P

"Of course we'd take the steps, it's the only way up aside from scaling the wall which would be way to out there. Zombies don't have rational and therefore nothing is "obvious"." The more Burk talked about the situation, the more it seemed like he was planning on this happening since he was sixteen, but you've already promised not to ask any questions. "Yes, there were old fashioned crank Gattling Guns but I doubt there would be any ammo and if there were I don't think finding it should be our first move." Burk said and than looked at the shutters again. "We're going to cut straight across the field, blowing only the zombies in our way and not wasting bullets on ones that have no threat to us at the moment. Their sluggish when they walk so if there not actually close to you don't worry about them. Use your close combat weapons often to conserve ammunition and try not to get any blood in open cuts, your eyes, or your mouths. Ready? Good." Burk said, drawing his Dragoon Saber and pulling the door open; he cut down the zombies that would most impair their exit of the small display. "Hurry children." He kept slicing any zombie that got close to the door that would be able to stop their mad dash to the room across the field...

Meanwhile, out in a nearby hallway, Leroy panted and gasped as he hid around the corner. Looking around frantically to ensure no zombies were there to chase him, he peered around the hallway, hugging the wall.

[spoiler=The Beginning of the Zombie Invasion]Mr. Burk was guiding the students around Fort Manoc, teaching them about the Civil War and what kind of weapons they used during those days. Appearing none too interested, Leroy broke from the group, heading outside to have a cigarette. That's when he started seeing the zombies about an hour later, making their way inside the building inch by inch, and by the truck load. Unaware that these images were real, and instead thinking it was probably a hallucination, Leroy calmly dropped the cigarette and re-entered the building, only to find that the rest of the group was missing.

Leroy looked around, trying to find everyone else. Instead, he found three zombies already inside the building. Leroy turned tail and ran, as fast as his body would allow, whilst the other three zombies gave pursuit. There seemed to be no way of outrunning them, but Leroy a plan. As he ran, Leroy grabbed his lighter, and immediately started to light all the cigarettes in his box, dropping it just before turning the corner and bolting down the next hallway.[/spoiler]

[color="#FF8C00"]'It's a good think I smoke,'[/color] Leroy thought as he looked back to see that the three original zombies were no longer chasing him, [color="#FF8C00"]'Otherwise I wouldn't have anything to distract those damned things with.'[/color]

Eventually though, as he walked down the seemingly empty hallway, Leroy finally found Mr. Burk, who was fighting off what seemed to be a second group of zombies. And if he was alive, the other classmates were sure to be. Leroy breathed a sigh of relief, as he approached the other group of students, somewhat glad to see that they were OK.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Alright, Mr. Burk, what did I miss?"[/color] Leroy asked.

"Well, you missed the plan of how we're getting out of here, and coming to the cannons. We3e're cutting across the field. He said not to waste ammo on anything that wasn't getting close, try not to get zombie blood in our eyes, mouths, or any open wounds, and use or sabers:" He said tossing him a saber "To fight, instead of your gun. Also, you'll need a gun. He picked up a lemat revolver that Mr. Burk had left in case one of them had lost there guns, and tossed it to him. "Now, are we all ready to fight for our lives?!" Luke said, raising his saber straight up.

Leroy looked awkwardly at the sabre that was handed to him. He wasn't entirely sure how exactly this was meant to harm the zombies... after all, they did have a strong resistance to melee attacks such as standard slashing.

[color="#FF8C00"]"How the f**king hell is a sword supposed to kill a f**king zombie?!"[/color] Leroy asked cursedly.

However, Leroy did seem to like the next weapon he was given; the LeMat Revolver. He recognized it as the weapon he used to have fun with during his games of Red Dead Redemption, one of his favourite video games.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Now this is what I'm talking about,"[/color] Leroy beamed, before coming across an epiphany in his mind, [color="#FF8C00"]"Wait a minute, is this thing even hot?"[/color]

As if to give Leroy the opportunity to find out for himself, one of the zombies managed to manoeuvre itself around the door, and rushed straight for him. Acting on instinct, Leroy aimed the revolver at the zombie's skull and opened fire, at point blank range. The zombie collapsed in an instant and showed no signs of movement, even after a few pokes from Leroy's sword.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Huh, it is too,"[/color] Leroy stated curiously, before turning to the field, [color="#FF8C00"]"Oh well, onward and upward!"[/color]

Burk noticed someone else had joined them, which was good for them as he'd rather get as many humans out alive as he could. "Simple my dear children, you use the sabers to slice through the neck or stab through the brain." Burk explained as he first showed a nice horizontal cut that removed one zombies head and than a straight stab through anothers to damage the bran enough to kill it. "If you slice the heads off make sure to stab downward into the brain though, just in case." Burk said and than started moving forward a foot. "Come on, we must make it to the room across the field." Burk shouted to them, stabbing through yet another zombie...

ooc: Anyone who isn't here for this movement we will assume that they helped us...even though they didn't...jerks...

[Dwarven King]

Brian continued to follow Mr. Blurk. So far, he hadn't said a single word. He simply put the pack on when he was instructed to...loaded his gun...held it in his left hand...and gripped his blade with his right hand. So far...they hadn't ran into that many zombies. Most of them were busy chasing after other people. Brian quickly ducked and struck out at a nearby zombie, slicing it's head off. He was kinda surprised they decided to take off so quick. Brian would have preferred to stay hunkered down until the mass of zombies scattered a bit. They were still clumped up in places, which would pose a problem if they took a wrong turn. But, he had no choice. He was safer in a group than alone...for now.

Unaware that he'd probably get away with just bolting across the field, Leroy opted to take a more stealthy approach to the team's current destination, with his back to the walls almost at all times. He seemed to be the first one there though, surprisingly, considering the speed he was going for such a strategic tactic.

It wasn't long before Leroy started smoking another cigarette. He was clearly on edge, and this seemed to calm him down. But Leroy was still far from willing to let his guard down, as he darted his eyes across for incoming zombies, revolver in hand.

Burk had sliced down the last zombie that stood in between them and Leroy, who was already waiting for them at the room they had wanted to get into. "Quickly children, inside." He said as he opened the door and let all the children in, slamming it and locking it shut; he than did the same with the windows. This room was remarkably similar to the one they had just left, instead of weapons though this was the Maps exhibit. "Good, we must hurry." He walked over to the wall and looked at a map of Fort Macon itself. "The stairs are here." He said, circling them with a black marker he'd always kept in his upper left shirt pocket. If one looked around the room as Burk was telling them where to go they could see a border patrol display with some ammunition in a glass case and a string looking strip of bullet on a belt...

As Mr. Burk was explaining something he knew they were already going to do, and noticed a glass case. Inside there was a some of ammo, luckily, for the Henry Rifle, and a strip of ammo. He quitley pried open the case, and grabbed the ammo, along with the strip, then put it into his pack. He slipped back to the group, hearing the planning. As he was listining, a zombie barged through the door, and Luke quickly lunged, decapitated the zombie, and stabbed the brain. "This place is made of stone right, so if I, per say, lit fire to the field, we would be okay, right." If the answer was yes, he would grab the head, light fire to it with Leroy's lighter, then throw it into the courtyard.

"Yes and no." Burk said, turning from the map and looking at Luke, lighter in hand and ready to go. "The doors in windows are all made of wood, as well as the floors; if you couldn't tell. Fire would still spread in here not to mention all the gun powder debris and barrels of gun powder on display in the field would cause an explosion that we just could not afford to have happen for we need that gun powder." Burk explained and then walked over to the door and closed it. "As soon as we get up the stairs were gonna have to start clearing zombies; but we have to make it up the stairs first. Is everyone ready?" Burk asked, than awaited an answer.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Hang on, I gotta finish this ciggy first,"[/color] Leroy breathed out the last breath of smoke from his cigarette, before tossing the butt into the mouth of the zombie that Luke had slain earlier. He then turned back to the display case, hoping to find a few bullets for the LeMat, as well as a couple of shotballs, but with no luck.

[color="#FF8C00"]"K, now I'm ready,"[/color] Leroy stated in acknowledgement.

'Hey!' Kaden, who was asleep at the time, was left behind before any of this happened. He was asleep after the group visited the area. After they left, a janitor had secured the entrance, but not secure enough for Mr Burk. 'What the hell is going on?' He was carving into a stone he found on the floor with a Bowie Knife he brought with him. 'I was just minding my own business, and then suddenly a fall asleep, only missing a Zombie Apocalypse!' He also had a Pistol with him. He looked at Mr Biurk and said 'Johnny Coruthers planted this on me, I swear!' He had a feeling that he wouldn't want to appear as a thief. He looked at the inscription on the butt of the pistol, reading out 'SALLY'...

"It's ok, Kaden, you'll need both of those weapons for our fight with the zombies, here's a pack. There's two days of rations and three more rounds for your weapon in there should you need more than you've got. Try to take them out with your knife though." Burk explained, more to remind everyone not just inform Kaden for the first time since he had just woken up mere moments ago. "Due check to make sure you have everything children, we won't be turning around because someone forgot their saber." Burk said, and than made his start for the door but wasn't leaving yet.

While Mr. Burk was supplying Kaden with what he needed, Leroy had eyed up a zombie down the hallway to his right, preparing to see if he could throw the sabre at it and kill it. He reached the arm he was holding the sabre with straight out, and then brought up, then down, then up, then down. He then brought the arm up and around so the sabre was behind his shoulder before hurling the sabre with all his might. The sabre soared down the hallway spinning, narrowly missing the zombie as it flew behind its back, before continuing down the hallway. Even worse, Leroy threw the sabre just as Mr. Burk said that they weren't going back just because someone forgot to bring their sabre with them.

[color="#FF8C00"]"F***!!"[/color] Leroy couldn't help but curse.

Brian watched as Leroy went and threw his blade down the hall. What an idiot. And now Mr. Burk was refreshing some guy who was sleeping this whole time. Great. It was just his luck to get put with a group like this. He was starting to think he might be better off on his own then with these people. But for now, he would stick with them. They had a plan, and it didn't sound half bad. Brian checked his pockets and pack to make sure he had everything. Once that was done, he nodded towards Mr. Burk, showing that he was ready to go.

'Well, thanks.' Kaden said to Mr Burk. Upon hearing that they were going soon, Kaden saw a sabre being tossed. He then went to Leroy and said 'Didn't you just-' Then he saw the zombie. 'Oh...' He took out his Bowie Knife and went straight for the head. He smacked the zombie's head with the pistol, knocking it on the floor. Then he took out his Bowie Knife and literally chopped it's arms off. The zombie swung a bite towards him, which he dodged and chopped the things legs off. He then said to Leroy after getting off the creature 'Wanna finish it off, or do you want to get your sabre?' He looked at the zombie, saying 'Feel's a bit like water, mushy paper.'

[color="#FF8C00"]"Screw the sabre, I have a LeMat!"[/color] Leroy pointed his revolver at the zombie that he was aiming for earlier, which already had its limbs hacked off by Kaden, [color="#FF8C00"]"This is for dodging my sword..."[/color]

Leroy shot the zombie square in the head. Blood and brain matter soared in different directions, before landing on the floor nearby. Concealing the revolver inside his blazer, Leroy turned to the rest of the group.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Does anyone mind if I leave the mess where it is?"[/color] Leroy asked.

Burk didn't say anything out loud but he silently thought [i]It's a zombie, no one cares where the hell it's at...[/i], he just shook his head from left to right than allowed the rest of the students to group up and then turned to the door. "I hope your ready, it's going ta be hell." Said Burk and than ran out of the Maps Display room and than looked in awe at what he saw. What could only be described as organization skills; the zombies formed in a semi circle group around the bottom of the steps. There was about forty of them staring, waiting for them to make a move. "Let's Go!" Burk shouted and fired three rounds from his revolving rifle, killing the first three zombies he saw. He reloaded it as he ran up and the zomibes charged as well; his banned of scared students following behind....

ooc: It's quite a sprint from the maps room to the stairs, that's why Burk had time to reload from the three bullets he had shot.

Lukas heard the battlecry, and decided to stay back a bit and sniping. He shot 5 zombies, then put the gun away. He charged into the zombies, slashing. His arm got scraped, and a little bit of blood into it. "Fudge!" He started slashing as hard as he could. He got to Mr. Burk and said: "Umm, we have a problem. I scraped myself, and a little, well umm, zombie blood got on me. What should I do. I'll go and strap a bomb to myself and blow myself up, if I have to." He thought he would turn into a zombie, so he might as well go down fighting. He hacked another zombies head off, and continued fighting.

Burk sighed, he'd thought a situation would come up like this and he shook his head from the left to the right. "We'll take care of it when we have time, if your not a zombie yet just fight!" He shouted, the other students doing their best to fight of the group of zombies and get through but there were only about fourteen zombies down out of the forty or so that they started with. Burk was hacking and slashing their heads off as well as he good, all while keeping an eye on the rest of the students; especially maybe infected Lukas

'Die, you flesh eating addicts!' Kaden yelled as he decaptitated many zombies, one after the other. Then he noticed a group of zombies in a line, which he took out his pistol and shot through their heads. 'Woah, they're weaker than I though.' he said surpirsed at the weak body structure of the zombies. 'Anyway...say good bye you blood junky!' He smashed and slashed his way to Mr Burk, who was talking about Lucas with zombie blood on him. 'Err...that doesn't sound good.' He said 'But so long as yur with us...' He ran at a zombie and chopped it head downwards. 'Yeah! I'm on fire!' He triumphantley cheered 'Oh crap!' A zombie smacked his head 'Ouch! Where are you...manners!' He said as he kicked off a knee. He got up an continued fighting tirelessly 'This is like Kino!' he said, making a COD Black Ops reference.
