Ghost here with another magic the gathering combo! (Wanted to say that, don't know why). Anyways, Mycoloth needs to be summoned while Doubling Season is on the field. He'll get double the counters with devour. But that's not all! He also places DOUBLE the tokens every turn because of doubling season!

So, if you sacrifice two creatures, he becomes a 12/12 that dishes out 16 1/1 tokens EVERY TURN! I made a table so you all could see the awesomeness -

1 sacrificed - 8/8 w/ 8 tokens
2 sacrificed - 12/12 w/ 16 tokens
3 sacrificed - 16/16 w/ 24 tokens
4 sacrificed - 20/20 w/ 32 tokens

Also, since Mycoloth ISN'T a legendary creature, feel free to sacrifice 16 1/1 tokens (easy to do with doubling season) to bring out a 36/36 that gives you 64 tokens every turn!

Saproling was my very first deck. I can't remember the setup (apparently it couldn't have been just Mycoloth + DS) but I generated 41 tokens in one upkeep. Then my connection went down and Magic Workstation crashed >_>

Doubling Season is awesome for Casual, but I'm fairly sure it doesn't see a lot of Standard/Extended play and never has. I could be wrong, but it's the sort of card whose high price is determined mostly by casual players.

the number of tokens are equal to the number of +1/+1 counters

So if it is a 8/8 it will summon 4 tokens not 8

Also Saprolin are amusing...Friend got a GBW built with is anoying once it get's rolling...XD

I didn't saw that...

OK then...But

Elves...would be just as anoying with Doubling seadon and it 7/7 Treefolks...XD

Actually I pointed this combo out because I was thinking of making a green/white commander deck with Rhys as the commander. She can further double tokens

Yes, they are both amazing. I have no idea why Mycoloth didn't get mythic rarity

Cause it's just a giant fungus? But yea, imo he isn't really have that mythic feel. He's a really good card don't get me wrong, but strength isn't all that gets cards to mythic status.

He's easy to get out, generates an excessive amount of tokens, can become massively powerful, is very easy to combo with other cards (Rhys/Doubling Season are two), he's green...

I guess the only way a green card can make mythic is if it has the phrase "This card can't be countered" and/or hexproof, and even then they might not make it.

[/quote] The reason why Mycoloth is not mythic is because it can die to everything or be countered, some fool can just Doom Blade it or Path To Exile it, now if it has an Effect Clause that says Protection from nonpermanent spells then yeah Mycoloth would be mythic.
