The battle against Kronus was won. He was split into millions of tiny pieces and cast, yet again, into Tartarus. The only thing that remained when this happened was Kronus’ scythe. On the orders of Zeus, Hephaestus used the scythe and Celestial Bronze to form a crown. The crown would turn into a sword when held with two hands. The crown was known as the Crest Of Oblivion. The Crest was kept in the center of the Olympians’ throne room.

 

20 years later, 2 weeks before the summer solstice, Zeus discovered that the crown was missing. The other gods could not think of anyone who would want to steal the Crest, so they fought amongst themselves, thinking one of the olympians stole it. Zeus, still being not so smart, declared that if the Crest Of Oblivion wasn’t returned by the summer solstice, then he would declare war on all the other gods, yet again. 12 gods against each other; it would end in disaster.

 

It was imperative that the Crest was to be found, for whoever wielded it might very well be one of the most dangerous beings in the world for both the gods and the mortals. Chiron heard of the news immediately, and gathered every single camper at camp that year (60 demi-gods). Dionysus and Chiron agreed that the campers should go to Mt. Olympus to try and persuade everyone to calm down and to not declare war against each other.

 

Meanwhile, the god that stole the Crest Of Oblivion wore it with satisfaction. He had gathered every single monster, demi-god and god that he could find who still hated the gods. This god would go against those who liked the gods, and when he killed the Olympians, minor gods, demi-gods and mortals, the world would be dissorted. He would then build a new world under his reign. Firstly, he had to stop the half bloods from getting to Olympus. He would send monsters at them so they couldn’t possibly arrive until after the summer solstice, when the evil god and his army would let the gods destroy each other first, and then jump in.

 

 

 

Athis awoke with a start. "What a hell of a nightmare that was", he grumbled as he lay motionless in his bed. It was perhaps the most frightening one Athis ever had. Nothing even happened in the nightmare. It was just pitch black, absolutely nothing besides darkness. Then, out of the darkness comes a low and terrifying voice that said:

 

The Crest is now mine

Athis forced his limbs to cooperate with him and managed to get out of bed. Athis changed into his red long-sleeved shirt and dark blue jeans. He put on his golden ring, the one that transformed into his main weapon, a hard-wooden staff with the sharp half of a knife jutting out from the top. Athis slid Nemathias onto his ring finger and tried to put on an expression that didn't show the worry in his eyes. "Dreams like that can only mean that something big will happen soon", Athis said to himself, deep in thought, "and I have a feeling it's going to be for the worse". Athis walked out the door. He couldn't show that he was worried, for he was going to meet Amanda at the dining pavillion...

[Mecha Love]

"Oi! Athis, wait up a second!" Alex ran out from the grand oak door of the Zeus Cabin which closed behind him with a crash... like thunder. He eventually caught up with his younger half brother, 4 years younger to be exact.

"You were tossing and turning all night. I take it you've been having dreams too?" Alex began fiddling with his lightning pendant, like he always did when nervous or worried. "You can tell me, ok? I'm always here for you! But every one of my instincts say something big is gonna happen soon but I don't know what. I was gonna go talk to Chiron now... coming?"

Amanda had already gotten dressed into her light green blouse and skinny jeans. She felt giddy inside, knowing that she would be meeting Athis in a few moments, alone at the dining pavillion. "Just us", Amanda whispered dreamily to herself. She went outside her cabin and was making her way to the dining pavillion when she stopped. Her vision started to blur, then disappear into a thick wall of darkness. "What the...", Amanda managed to say, but she was cut short by a voice that broke through the darkness:

 

"The Crest is now mine..."

 

Once the voice faded away, Amanda's vision returned to her. She was frightened by what had just happened. "What's going on? What is this?" Amanda paused for a second before deciding that she needed to discuss this with Athis. "He'll be waiting for me at the dining pavillion", she said to herself, "Hopefully we'll be able to decipher whatever it was that voice talked about."

[Grunt Issun]

Jacob stayed in bed for a while after all the campers woke up, he was awake, he just liked resting, and by that extent, not doing physical work. He sighed and got out of bed eventually, he grumbled "Another day, another deathtrap" he'd gotten used to saying that, even though he knew that camp half-blood was the safest place for him. He grabed his bow and quiver and slung them across his back, then went to the dining pavilion to eat. He got in and saw Amanda, looking like somthing just happened, "Hey Amanda? Somthing wrong?" Jacob asked her, "You look kinda weird" he noticed, eying her.

"I have to talk to Amanda first", Athis told Alex, "I'll be right with you". Athis waved and said they'll meet up soon, then hurried towards the dining pavillion. Athis liked the fact that he had an awesome and caring brother like Alex.

 

Athis made it and found Jacob talking to Amanda. "Hey, Jacob. Hi, Amanda. "What's up?" Athis finally noticed that Jacob was looking at Amanda with a curious look, and that Amanda looked worried about something. Somehow, Athis knew why. "Amanda, you had the dream, too?" Amanda nodded to both Jacob and Athis. "It was completely black in the dream. There was a voice, too. It said, "The Crest is now mine..."

 

When she finished, Amanda said, "I don't know what it means, but it sure scared me."

 

More people were gathering at the pavillion. Athis quickly but reluctantly left and started in the direction Alex was going in. "Maybe Chiron has something to say about this". Meanwhile, Amanda just stared blankily at her table, wondering what danger lurked around the corner.

[Grunt Issun]

"A voice? Crpytic, mabye Athis is right, I think we should go tell Chiron, thats usually the smart thing to do... that or the very stupid thing." Jacob muttered, but stretched a little, then took off after Athis, "Hey, wait up, I want to hear this too!" Whatever this is that Amanda heard, its probably not good. 'the crest is mine' what could that mean? Oh well... hey I just thought of a new poem! Voices at the camp, cryptic words ring through the air, this is pretty weird. As he was thinking the words he counted off the sylables on his hand, which must have looked pretty strange.

Once Jacob had finished doing...whatever it was that he was doing, Athis allowed Jacob to tag along. Athis hoped Amanda wasn't feeling lonely 'cause he had to go find Chiron. Athis allowed himself a chuckle. "Hehe, even when there is certain doom ahead, I always end up thinking about Amanda". Athis shook his head, afraid that he would get distracted and forget what he was doing. He scanned every place in camp, searching for Chiron and Alex.

 

Athis was starting to get nervous. He stared at the ground, at the sky, but nothing could keep his mind off of the dream, of the voice that spoke through the darkness. Who did the voice belong to? 'The Crest is now mine...They have forgotten me, but I won't fade...I'm hiding behind the Mist'.

 

What was going on in the world of the gods?

Emily looked at herself in the mirror checking over her appearance. With a small smile she turned around and faced the empty Hades cabin. It's always been empty and probably would have remained empty if it wasn't for Emily, well her and her older brother Eclipse. She didn't understand why people hated this cabin so much. Just because it belong to Hades, didn mean it was cursed. It was only because Hades gets bad publicity being the ruler of the underworld. "Either way...It's time to start yet another day of critisim, glares and insults. Can't wait." She rolled her eyes her voice heavily laced with sarcasm.

 

As she left her cabin she started thinking about her abnormal dream. Being a demi-god having strange dreams was pretty normal...However this one was more that strange. It was like a warning of sorts. Something about a crest. Emily hadn't a clue what it was supposed to mean but simply shook her head. If it was important enough she would find out.

'Cause, like, if the main characters go after Lithiox, then they COULD consult the oracle (Rachel).

[Squidward Tentacles]

Chase yawned, rubbed his eyes, and climbed out of bed. "Aww..." he moaned. "What a dream..." He looked down over to the other side of the cabin to see if his twin sister, Mary, was up yet. She was. "Yo, Mary!" He said. "Did you have the-" "Dream, too? Yes." Mary replied. Damned twin telepathy, Chase thought. "I heard that," Mary said, grinning. Dammit! "I figured that... so..." You are a dork, Chase thought. "I hate you," Mary growled. "So, anyway, what do you think this crest is?" Mary asked. Chase shrugged. "Let's go get breakfast and see if Chiron knows..." Chase suggested.

Stephan was sitting on top the roof of the roof of the Ares cabin behind the many barbed wires and spear heads. No one in the right mind set would climb up their except for him. He was just counting down the seconds in his head before...

 

"ARRRRRRGGGGGH"

 

The door to the Ares cabin smashed open as fumes of a strong sweet smelling perfume drafted out and many big bulking Ares cabin members poured out faces red with anger. Other cabin members did their best not to make eye contact and hide in their cabins, but they couldn’t help but giggle at the fruity scented warriors.

 

“ALRIGHT WHO DID THAT?”

 

No one answered but everyone kept in place, fearing that moving away would claim guilt. Stephan was still amused watching above and taking in the scent of Ares new fashion trend making him quite giddy. But he had to stay focused for the next big…

 

*SCREAM* this time from the Aphrodite’s cabin. “Are most best love scented perfume here is it?”

Screaming finicky panic was spreading through out the Aphrodite and as they rushed out of their cabin they found the scent they were looking for on the Ares members.

 

Stephan almost burst out in loud laughter, when the Aphrodite cabin started to put their faces right next to the Ares members to take in their scent. The Ares members stood there with the most confused look on their faces. But Stephan knew he was screwed if he was found out so he quickly climbed down the back of the cabin and went on his way out of sight when he bumped into Dionysus.

 

“going somewhere?”

 

Stephan looked at him with a blank stupid look and said nothing. Which is what he always did around people to hide the trickery and intelligence behind those eyes. He knew the innocent look never worked.

 

“well? Answer me!”

 

Stephan gave him a grin and said, “heh heh chubby man go time to eat… camp fire”

 

Dionysus glared at him wondering if it was just his stupidity and ignorance that lead to an innocent insult, or something more. “Fine then get going then you little weasel.”

Somehow Dionysus had a gut feeling that Stephan was someone to watch, especially now receiving news that the crest was stolen.

[Mecha Love]

The hoof of a large horse hit the stoned floor of the dining pavilion where campers were beginning to sit down and eat their breakfast. This horse had the upper body of a human, and anyone could recognise him as Chiron, the teacher of heroes. As soon as his hoof hit the floor, the atmosphere became quiet, the sound echoing around camp.

"Morning to all. Today will be slightly different if you want to accept this challenge. The first choice is to continue with daily routines. Or...." Chiron's eyes sparkled. "We can start the day with capture the flag and end the day with it also. However, it will be children of the Big Three against everyone else! The prize will be a crest- I mean I'll keep you oblivious to what the prize is! Do you accept the challenge?!"

Chiron had dropped the hint in the words "crest" and "oblivious." He showed a pained and concerned look as he stated the so called prize.

"Make your choice campers! This will be a very interesting game indeed!"

 

Alex's head shot up at the word 'crest'. What did Chiron know, except everything? He'd have to consult the centaur, but first, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. Capture the flag!

The sky rumbled but showed no sign of rain, as it rarely did. Alex smiled. He would enjoy this!

[Sar19]

Athis lead Jacob back to the pavillion where Chiron was already giving his speech. He heard the word "Crest" and knew immediately that Chiron had information about it. The dream meant something and Athis had to find out why. He saw Alex as well and told Jacob to get Amanda. Athis rushed to Alex once the speech was done, then told him, "Chiron knows somethin. Continuing the regular activities won't help, and the way Chiron said 'interesting' seems...interesting. Also, why the Big Three kids versus everyone else! Maybe he'll give us some information at the end of Capture The Flag".

 

Athis remembered the cold, terrifying voice in the darkness. He memorized what the voice said for future reference, and now that he thought about it, the line "They have forgotten me, but I won't fade" stood out. Could there be a god that was forgotten by the gods or something? Maybe that'll give us a clue as to what this all means.."

[Hotaru987]

Emily sighed as she laid her head down on her table. Since there were only two kids in Hades' cabin she didn't have to worry about fighting over space at the table which was pretty cool. She wondered if he would be comign to breakfast. Emily was only half listening to Chiron when he was talking about the 'Capture the Flag game'. She never participated because she found it pretty stupid. But now it seemed like she didn't have much of a choice considering the teams. Emily glanced over at Zues' table and saw two boys. It would be her and them seeing as Posiden didn't have any kids here.

 

It was one word Chiron said that instantly caught her attention, "Crest". Could it be possible that he knew something? She rolled her eyes slight. Of course he knew something about it. She would be surprised if there was something he didn't know about. "Guess this stupid game wont be a complete waste of my time."

[Mecha Love]

"I hope so Athis. But you know Chiron..." he glanced at the departing centaur, wondering what he knew about the crest and dreams. "But for now, let's get ready for capture the flag. Our team is small but controls the sky, water and dead, so I think we beat them in power. However, we need to beat them skillfully as well, countering Athena's tactics and such. Any ideas?"

Alex then spotted his half cousin, sitting alone on the Hades table. He motioned to join him and Athis discussing the game. He already knew that she didn't like capture the flag, but under these more interesting circumstances...

"Don't worry. I've got a pretty good plan to defeat any Athena strategy. I'm still smart and wise, even though I'm not a son of Athena." Alex then motinoed for Emily to join them, and Athis realized that putting 3 against who knows how many is crazy. "Chiron must actually be out of his mind, putting us against the rest of the campers. Do the children of the Big Three have to prove something?" Athis speculated this, and drew a conclusion. "Chiron would only do this because something important was about to happen. If the THREE demigod children of the Big Three... three. You need three to go on a que..." Athis stopped. It was all making sense. Chiron was gonna make them go on a quest that had to do with that Crest thing. "But then why make a capture the flag game if it was just the 3 Big Three kids?" Athis was to confused to think properly. "I'll just forget about it and see what happens at the end of capture the flag. Three against tons; this is gonna get rough."

Emily had slightly spaced out while still looking at the two boys - Alex and Athis - and was brought back to reality when Alex made motions with his arm. At first it confused Emily, but them she realized he was making a jesture for her to join them. She assumed it was for strategy purposes. With an inaudible sigh she stood up, and slowly made her way over to their table. "Hello Alex, Athis - " She nodded to each one in turn, before sitting down and laying her head on the table like she was previously doing at her own table. Emily wondered if they had the same dream as she had. About the Crest or something. It wasn't uncommon that demi-gods had strange dreams like that, and it wouldn't be to unusual to assume that the other two kids of the "Big Three" had relitavly the same dream as she. Either way, she wasn't about to be the one to bring it up. "So do either of you have a plan, because while my interest in the game itself is but a bare minimal, I do want to win."

Athis described the plan to Alex and Emily. "Emily, you can summon a great number of dead warriors from the underworld. If you could make them not... kill anyone, then we could use them as defense for the flag and for getting the other team's flag. Alex, you can watch the border and bring lightning down on everyone you see... without severely hurting them, though. Maybe your flight abilities could help, and flying would help you see where the flag is. I'll send rogue tornadoes into the enemy borders so they get blown back and become dazed so Emily's army can get through. Apollo archers are usually waiing at the flag, along with Athena's brilliant fighters. They'll be able to knock down some dead warriors, so I'll follow and disable the fighters while Emily'll take care of the archers. Also, watch out for the Ares guys. I hear they hide in trees and shoot spears at you on the ground. They can also throw really high, so if you fly, Alex, watch out. Do you guys want to add anything?"

 

To Athis, it seemed simple. He just hoped it wouldn't be too complex to actually pull off. If anyone wanted to add something then they could.

Emiko thought about the plan and after some thinking, she came to the concluion that it wasn't that bad of a plan. She wasn't too sure about how many undead creatures she could make, but she would definately try. Hopefully her dad would be in a helpful mood. "Guess you guys are smart afterall. I had you pegged all wrong." She said winking playfully at Athis. She couldn't help but feel like something bad was about to happen. And it was coming very soon. The thought of playing a game with such a terrible feeling, made her think of the game trivial. But if she wasn't to learn what crest Chiron as talking about it was important to participate. Other than that there were a few people she ould love to get back during this game.

Athis figured that they should get their helmets and shields and what not from their cabins. "Capture The Flag'll start in, what, 2 hours or something. We better get ready". Athis nodded to both Alex and Emily and took off. While making his way to his cabin, Athis just realized something. "I didn't get the chance to talk to Amanda!" Athis fretted over this while he entered the Zeus cabin and found his helmet and shield hanging on the wall next to his large bed. "Thankfully, Alex and I have bigger beds 'cause Zeus had only 2 kids in the past 20 years". Athis got the equipment, but then he stopped. "Oh no! Amanda'll be on the opposite team" Athis shook his head again, for he had started to drift off again imagining Amanda's face. "Ugh! I'm smart and come up with brilliant battle strategies, but I drift off whenever I think of my girlfriend." Athis walked out the door, trying to think about something else, but that just made him think about the voice and the Crest. What was the Crest? Was it a weapon? A jewl? Athis would just have to wait and see what the prize was at the end of Capture The Flag.

Stephan wasn’t really paying any attention to the announcement and when he heard crest he didn’t understand the huge commotion. He liked capture the flag for one thing and one thing only and that was pranks and easy wins. Stephan has been through Daedalus’ labyrinth many times and found navigating through it only as difficult as Dionysus’ underground prison.

 

He had the ability to unlock any door thanks to his key made by Hephaestus and so never hitting a dead end. He knew most likely that the 3 cabin team will have the forest side of the playing field so when they reach the lake side they will have a large offense to catch the flag. But how they would defend the flag in the forest with only 3 people he did not know.

 

Maybe some forest nymphs will help them spy out approaching attackers he didn’t know. It wouldn’t matter if there were scouts, for up to 50 cabin members all charging to one flag though.

 

He wasn’t sure so he decided to do some snooping, he fed the rats surrounding his feet by spitting out of his mouth chewed up pork meat. The entire Aphrodite cabin looked at him in disgust and the entire Athena cabin had on their faces a look of pity, while the Hermes cabin a little embarrassed pretended like they didn’t notice. The camp fire rapidly flickered with the colors green, light brown and a strange tangling mix of red and blue.

 

Stephan was the first in his cabin to give scrape his food offerings and said 2 names “I offer this to my blood father Hermes and my bonded father Hephaestus.” he watched the food burn for a bit and headed toward the forest while everyone else geared up.

 

The first thing he did was unlock a forest entrance to the labyrinth and used it only for 20 seconds to get to the top of another tree. Outside of the labyrinth he seemed to have teleported there instantly but the wood nymph knew what he was doing.

 

“I’m here to see Cynthia.” Many of the wood nymphs rolled their eyes and disappeared while a small female wood nymph came out a very finicky mood and aura surrounding her. Stephan really knew how to act and play with minds. Trickery and deception never had a tug on him morally, he felt that if some one tricked or deceived him then they are just playing a smarter game and had no problem with being lead into a trap. “how’s my most beautiful and pleasant girl doing?” Stephan said in a voice of serenity.

 

Cynthia blushed and smiled her entire tiny body turning red. “I l-l-l… I Hi you… Hey Steph… um..”

 

Stephan cut her off from her fan girl panic moment “I need a huge favor from you can you do that my love?”

 

Cynthia nodded her head with excessive vigor almost to the point where he felt her head would fall off her skinny neck. “anystuff…. Thing.”

 

“good, during capture the flag I want you to watch what the 3 cabin team is doing and give me a lay out of their positions on paper. Then bring it to be in the labyrinth I will be waiting behind this entrance.”

 

“The… the labyrinth?” Cynthia wanted to protest fearing the worst in that horrid maze.

 

Stephan felt her losing her enthusiasm for his task and took it a small step forward “If you do it my dear, I’ll give you the kiss off passion.” and he stole her lips in a deep embracing kiss. The wood nymph eyes closed and Stephan watched her wide eyed knowing that it was working. He pulled away and Cynthia said,

 

“yes anything for you.” The other wood nymph face palmed.

 

“thank you my dear.” Stephan disappeared behind the labyrinths entrance and wiped his lips on his sleeve and spit *taste like bark* he thought.

Emily watched as Athis stood and left he table leaving her alone with Alex. She sared at him for a bit befoe standing up. "I suppose I will retire to my cabin for a while. We mut get prepared right? I will see you and your brother later then." She said and left to her cabin, or course not before giving her offerings her her father. Emily continued to watch the fire before leaving ignoring the looks from the other campers. She had considered telling Alex ad Athis about her ability of Shadow travel but decided against it. Better to keep an ace in the hole just in case things don't go as smoothly.

 

On her own she could create about 10 undead soldiers with te right offering. Wit her dad's help she may be able to double that. It would still be less that the other side but undead worriors do not fel pain nor fatigue. Not only that but they can reassemble within minutes. With the help of that she could keep watch above and below ground. "I would just need the help of a ghost. They cannot be touched at all." Emily smirked. The other team ill not stand a chance. And if all else fails, she could just shadow travel and grab the flag.

Amanda finished her breakfast and decided to head back to the lonely cabin she called home. First, she remembered to give some of her breakfast to the gods. "Hope you like bacon, mom".

 

She didn't get the chance to speak with Athis alone, though she could wait until after Capture The Flag. "Oh no! I'm against Athis." Amanda didn't like how it was just the Big Three kids versus the rest of the camp, but she reassured herself. "He comes up with wicked strategies. Now I just have to help the "rest" win". Amanda made it to the cabin and all she wanted to do was lie down on her bed and fall asleep. Then, she remembered the vision and the voice and thought better of it. "No need to have a terrifying dream right before capture the flag". Instead, she found her shield below her bed and made sure Zephatrylias was around her neck. "Alright, kids. Let's have a game of Capture The Flag!"

Emily had made hr way to her cabin. It was black - big surprise there - and ominous looking to most of the campers her The dark coblestones, and bricks that frmdthe structure gave a feeling of nothing but pure darkness. Even the grass that the cabin rested on looked less lively than everywhere else. As if light itself shyed ayaw from the gabin. With a slight shrug she entered her cabin, which has been her home for the better part of 3 years, and instantly fell on her bed. Her bed was all the way in the back of the cabin, and directly across from the door. There was another bed to the right of her's which belonged to Eclipse. To her right were her shelf with trinkets from diferent quests she's been one and other things she brought back from her pervious home. To her left we're things like clothes, dressers and the most noticible thing being a statu of her father, Hades, wearing his helment of terror, and his cloak of shadows. His relatively newer symble of power - his sword that step-mom Persephone had fordged for him - was not built into the statue. Next to the statue was a basin of water whish Emily used to talk to her father or even Persephone when she was in a good mood.

 

Emily held her right arm over her head and looked at the bracelet with the charm for a chakrum hanging from it. A gift from her father, along with the necklace around her nect. Both has gotten her out of tight spots before. "Hope you liked your offerings dad becaue I'm gonna need some help..." Luckily with her brother there as well they would be able to split the work. She still believed this game to be stupid and highly pointless - of course other than the prize at the end - but even so she was going to give those other losers the fright of their lives.
