The Life of a Pirate Episode 1 (Finished)

Recommended Posts

Vryn leaned against her spear, palms on the hilt as the blade stuck into the wood of the deck, watching. She smirked a bit as she took in the sights of the men drinking the gas, and her captain lighting the match. "I wonder what this would make it....death by internal combustion?" She laughed a bit. "Definite one to write down should he wanna see a repeat." She took out a small book and wrote it quickly before returning her eyes to Frederick and wondered exactly HOW they would explode. Or maybe they would implode, now that would be a sight wouldn't it?

Jacqueline was startled out of her half asleep state by that girl she saw earlier. The girl was now in pirate garb, which made Jacqueline's heart jump. She was so young, but ready to start a life of crime, just as she did. So much of herself wanted to shout out and tell her to escape while she could, but Jacqueline knew that if she followed her emotions, it would not make an impact on the girl.

"You look a little young for being a pirate, especially if you have McGraw as a captain. Why are you here?" Jacqueline asked quietly, "This is no place for a kid like you to grow up."

The men spat out the gas that they wouldn't, or couldn't swallow rather. The captain said 'I served my King the best I could, I have no regrets.' 'Alright.' McGraw turned to the crew. 'Loot everything you can. I'll lift these boys to the helm.' As the crew looted jewelery, gold, weapons and ammunition, McGraw placed the captured men on to the helm. He noticed the man behind the captain was praying, so he punched him and said 'Ain't no use praying now, sunshine!' He drank some rum, then blew the match. This created a flamethrower which he first used to burn their skin. Then one of them opened their mouths and...*BOOM!*...the helm had a huge hole in it. McGraw was on the floor, laughing. The boat began to sink, so he ordered the crew to get back onboard. He watched over Jonathan as the surgeon took him onboard. When he passed by McGraw said 'You win...only got 6. Well done, get some rest.' He went over to Vryn. 'Should be smooth sailing now.' He saw Vryn with a book. 'What you doing with that book?'

Her eyes looked up to the captain and chuckled. "Making a list of your more....interesting....ways of killing the navy captain. Death by Rum and Gas, very clever." SHe smirked as she spun her spear and holstered it, taking a chest with her as she hopped off the sinking ship. Landing rather gracefully, she took out a steel fan and began fanning herself. The heat from the flames had gotten to her, and pirate as she be, she was still somewhat a lady and sweat did not entice her in the least. She dropped the chest onto the deck and sat upon it, still fanning herself slowly as she watched the flaming wreckage sink into the abyss that was the sea.

OOC: (Pretend this post is prior to defeating all the navy men.)

Upon hearing the calls of the crew, and seeing the navy approaching, Aras drew out his two white katana blades and filled placed his 2 black ones in slots under his forearms facing the opposite direction.

"4 Sword-Style" He said with a smirk as he then jumped down form the top landing on one knee as the navy men boarded their ship. They swung their swords valiantly at Aras. Aras seemed not to struggle to much, in more of a dancing motion he found a clear opening and, crouched down, Aras then went under a sword swing on his knees and upon appraching 2 navy men either side of hm stood up and slashed up their chests, not fatally wounding them but injuring them enough. He then turned his back to 2 more oncoming navy men and thrusted his arm backwards, causing his black katana to slice them up. When alll the navy men were taken out, Aras leaned againt the wooden wall.

"Nice warm up." He said with a smile as he started to grow excited for the leviathan

McGraw looked at Vryn. He knew just how beautiful she was, and the fact that she was sweaty didn't help. She was extremelly seducing, however McGraw felt something and restrained himself from doing something she wouldn't forgive. Instead he said 'The fella that lands you will be a lucky one, lass, that's for sure.' He couldn't explain it but he felt as if she was a daughter to him. 'Cap'n!' Skipper reported 'I've...well...I need to tell you something.' 'Not now, Skipper, I got an 'eadache.' As McGraw walked away, Skipper said under his breath 'Ok, Cap'n...Dad...' As McGraw walked...*FLASH*...
'I see you've sent yet another crew my way.'
'Well, you know what you get with me.'
'McGraw, I am tired of cleaning up your mess. A normal human being doesn't slaughter an entire ship. A normal human being doesn't drown a man with gas and cause him to explode, especially by a rum-mouth flamethrower.'
'I'm not a normal human, aren't I?'
'No, you not.'
'Well, I guess you've come to play a game of die?'
'(chuckle) You said "die".'
'Fine, game of dice.'
'What's the catch.'
'Odd, smooth seas. Even, rough storm.'
'Fair enough.'
...
'One, that's odd.'
'I know what's odd and even!'
'Follow our bargain.'
'Fine, I'll tell Calypso for smooth seas.'
'Later, Death'

...*FLASH*...Well, that monochromatic nightmare is over All I can do now is write me a poem.' McGraw climbed up to the helm, passed Ben, and got out a quill, he began writing a poem.

Vryn chuckled a bit as she put the steel fan back in its place. "Ever the charmer captain, even when not fully intoxicated." She wiped a bit of sweat from her brow and kicked off the chest, knocking it against the door of the lower decks before tumbling down, but never opened. "Navy....bunch of slime. All they do is bark orders and kill people who break rules." She chuckled. "They got what they deserve." She retook out the fans and began a sort of dance, revling in the dying light of the flames as they licked the sky. Her eyes closed as she moved to a rhythm only she could hear, her white hair flowing behind her like a flag or ribbon in the breeze.

McGaw was writing hi poem. 'Hmm...rhyming is fine, but it's just what else do I want in it! Next ship we raid better have an art gallery, cause I lack inspiration!' He thought.
I be but a humble servant of the sea
She feeds me, nutures my
soul as I fight with her
And she with I
are a match made in heaven...
'...DRAT! I can't think...' McGraw caught a glimpse of Vryn's dancing, once again fighting off evil sin. But he also found inspiration. A wicked thought of his was Vryn being nude inspiration, but he warded it off. He looked at Aras, Scarlette...'Vryn, Skipper, come here a minute.' McGraw said in an unusually nicer voice. As usual, Skipper ran up as soon as possible 'Yes, Cap'n?' He waited for Vryn, but began to think 'I wonder if Jonathan is alright...poor sod...'

The fans clicked shut as Vryn came out of her trance like state from the dance. He moved, rather elegantly for a woman of only 18, and the rocking of the boat in the seas. Her crimson eyes looked to Frederick as she spoke. "I swear to Lolth if this is some scheme to try to cop a feel McGraw, Captain or no captain, i'll break your arm starting with your pinky." She chuckled as she walked up the stairs to the helm where Frederick was, resting her hands on her hips as she looked to the man that commanded their vessle.

Aras began walking to the back of the ship, he placed his White Katana blades to his sides and removed the black katana Blades from under his forearms to his back. He looked back at the torn down Navy ship, he personally didn't like so much as killing off people in such a way, but that's the life of a pirate and he accepts it. The Navy ship had few swordsman that Aras could say he defeated, Aras plans to keep a record of the trials whilst fighting differetn swordsman and how he grew from each fight, he keeps it in a little journal he keeps in the ship.

'Well, I wanted you guys to have a look at this.' He handed them his poem and waited for a response. 'Here, Vryn, you can read it first, if ya like.' Skipper said to her. 'Cap'n...I...I...' McGraw smacked his back 'Out with it lad!' 'I'm your son.' McGraw didn't believe he heard right. '...Sorry?' 'I am your son. I'm the child of Lady Jasmine.' McGraw remembered is flame during noble times. He slept with her on numerous occasions. She was his first, and he was hers. They loved eachother, untill Valentine became engaged to her over financial benefits of the two families...

'...but...but...' McGraw stuttered. But then he realised something. He had a son. He felt strange...'Come here, Skipper.' Skipper looked up at McGraw, who continued speeking 'Come give yer dad a hug.' 'Aww, shucks!' Skipper hugged his dad, his idol. They both knew it was true. McGraw then said 'Skipper, I'm sorry 'bout the way's I've been treating you.' 'No problem Dad!' 'And for shooting you in the toe.' 'No prob!' 'Or stealing your...' This list of forgiveness went on and on...

It took every ounce of Vryn willpower not to vomit at the show of emotion. She rolled the paper up and smirked. "I see someone was watching me, so I assume this one is mine? Is that not reasonable?" She chuckled as she tucked the paper in her shirt. "Think I'll keep it here, though I know it wont stop someone like you." She flicked McGraw's nose as she started walking down the stairs, swaying her hips, almost in a seductive manner, knowing that McGraw would watch as she walked away, though it gave her the willies to be completely honest.

McGraw couldn't help himself but to drool. 'If I were just a bit younger...I hate f*cking time!' He then looked at the horizon. 'Skipper? Is that dawnbreak?' 'Yeah! It is!' 'Well then, look over there! That is no mirage! It's the Island of Serpontos!' 'No way!' McGraw looked at his crew, most of them asleep. 'Well, I suppose we can dock when everyone is awake...' He took the wheel of the drowsy Ben McCoy and steered into the lagoon. 'Skipper, weigh anchor.' 'Aye-aye Cap'n!' Then McGraw wondered 'Hmm...wait a minute. Where's my poem! Vryn!' He stormed over to her. 'Where is it?' He realised where it was and he just said 'Okay, can you please take it out from...there.' He didn't want to fall prey to seduction. Suddenly...*FLASH*...
'Oh. Hello there.'
'F*ck off, she's off limits. That goes for anyone on my crew.'
'Fine. Your here now, so what are you going to do?'
'Well as soon as I get my poem from out of her shirt I'm going to continue it.'
'No, your not.'
'Why not?'
'Your a pirate. Not a poet. Just write a ballad instead.'
'A...ballad...hmm...
'Anyways, A tribesman died of aids so...'
'Wait! These people, they are supposed to be rich...you see where I'm going with this.'
'Yes, they are rich. With knowledge.'
'...What?'
'Knowledge'
'...Well is Leviathan real?'
'Yes, your going to fight him.'
...*FLASH*...'Wuzzap?' He was staring right into Vryn's chest. 'Sorry. Anyways, keep it if you want. It's a draft. I'll be writing a ballad!' He then went to his Captain's Quarters and closed the door. However it had always been habit to leave his door unlocked. Skipper and Vryn where the only ones awake. 'Golly, it sure feels great to have a dad!' He looked at Vryn. 'But...he has such courage...and no manners, for that matter. I couldn't even talk to a girl like her, let alone look right at her...lady parts.' He blushed.

Vryn's eyes widened as she caught McGraw looking at her chest, but before she could slap him away, he had run off to his quarters. Her eyes looked up to Skipper, who was staring at her too. She smirked as she noted the red hue on his cheeks. "Like father like son." She said to herself as she walked up to him. Her finger trailed over his cheek, and down Skipper's jaw. "Look all you want kiddo, but touch me, and I'll castrate you." She giggled and winked to him, blowing Skipper a kiss before walking away, again swaying her hips. Sometimes being a woman definitely had its advantages, as did her youth, keeping letches like McGraw off of her.

'Oh my god...did she actually just talk to me?' Skipper was over the moon, but he tried not to reveal anything. 'I'm so happy! I...wait a minute...what does castrate mean?' He went to the Captain's Quaters and knocked. 'What?' 'Err, Cap'n? Can I come in?' 'Sure, you'd might as well.' He actually was allow inside the Captain's Quaters. 'Dad, where's your dictionary?' 'Why? What word are you...' 'Castrate' 'WHAT!?! Son, why on Earth would you...' 'Well, Vryn saw me looking at her, and acted real friendly like. A bit more than friendly really. She mentioned the word...but...well...shucks, dad!' 'It's all right son. I know how you feel. You think you've got a shot with 'er?' 'Err...sort of...' 'Well listen up. She is a Drow. They aren't the nicest of people...well to be honest their elves.' 'That would explain the ears.' 'Yes, but...well....hold on.' McGraw looked at his soon in the eye. 'I don't know if she feels the same way. But whatever you do, don't follow my example. I'm Captain and I rarely get away with it!' 'Rarely?' '...Shut up.' McGraw then said 'Follow your heart. Don't shy away from danger. Hell, I deal with Death! Why else would I have such a strong liver?'

Meanwhile...*FLASH*...

Vyrn and Death: 'Well, for a Drow you sure are rather...suggestive.' Death said to her.

Vryn stopped in her tracks as time seemed to stop around her. Her crimson eyes beheld the form of death as she blinked quickly. "Bloody hell, you really need that flash?" She snapped as she looked up to the looming figure. "What do you want? And why do you ask that question? I was meerly letting him know his place. I have no interest in really being friends with any male on this ship, they are nothing but a filthy bunch of drooling dogs. Oggling me over how i dress, or meerly for the fact I'm the opposite sex. I dress like this because that is Drow custom, had I followed it to a T, I would be naked. I wear clothes because it helps me not being drooled over, and hides my weapons."

'Listen, I've acompanied McGraw for a long time. We usually play games of chance. Now it's time you played. Call it (a coin toss), you guess right, no-one dies, otherwise, someone dies...' Death replied, disregarding anything Vryn said. 'You must choose. Fate is in your hands. If you guess right, well, lets say you'll also find out something.' Death spoke to Vryn in his bne chilling voice. 'Death!' 'Oh boy, McGraw...' 'What are you doing here?' 'She must play a game of chance...Arcana has dictated it.' 'I hate you sometimes...' McGraw turned to Vryn 'Careful. This ain't no game, despite it obviously being one.'

For the first time in venturing out into the world, Vryn found herself without anything to say. She looked to Death, then to McGraw, then back to death. Her hair fell into her face, but she wouldn't show any emotion or let this being know, now that she knew who or what it was, that she was in face scared of it. Her eyes wavered a bit as she gulped inaudibly, and exhaled. Her head bobbed in a nod to the captain as she looked back to Death, hesitating for a moment before closing her eyes and speaking softly. "Do it. I'll play."

'Hold on, Death.' McGraw took Vryn away from Death to talk. 'Listen, he ain't scary. Sure, he can kill ya in a touch, but he isn't allowed to. Only the Divine targets his victims.' He took her back to the game. Death only said 'Call it.' McGraw then said 'How about I flip it? That way, it's impartial and fair.' 'Fair, you, not even slightly.' 'Aww, come on! Remember what I did for you.' '...fine. McGraw can flip.' Then as McGraw winked at her. He saw her stressed face he thought 'I read somewhre that Drows are excellent lip readers, so here goes nothng!' He lip syched 'Call heads, doll face!' He just hoped she wasn't shocked into missing his messgae.

Her composure regained, and a scowl crossed her face at the doll-face remark. I'll have to get him for that.... She thought to herself as she exhaled and looked up at death. When the coin was tossed she took a moment and inhaled, expanding her chest before speaking. "Heads." The coin seemed to stay airborn forever as Vryns eyes watched it closely. What happens if it's called wrong? Some one dies? Who would that someone be? Johnathan? Skipper? or even McGraw himself? He r mind raced as time still stood, waiting for the moment, which in reality was only seconds, seemed to drag by as in caught in eternity. What if it's me? What would happen? Her mind raced as the coin began its drop to the deck, causing Vryn's heart to race exponentially.

The coin flipped...'Heads.' McGraw wasn't surprised. 'Ha! Yet another victory over ya! HAHAHA! Now stick with your end of the bargain!' 'I suppose...Leviathan's weakness is its eyes. It's scales are pure diamond, making them inpenitrable. It's underbelly, despite not being as durable as its scales, should also be avoided. Leviathan is enormous, so be careful...and goodbye.'

...*FLASH*...'Hey, Vryn, double headed coin!'

In the blink of an eye Vryn's hand slapped McGraw as she smiled. "That....was for calling me doll face." And with that she walked off and hopped up onto the edge of the ship. Her eyes looked up into the morning sky, exhaling as she rested her hands on the wood, seeming to distance herself from what had just transpired. She had been put into something she was not used to, only to have the captain make a joke of it. She didn't know what was worse, fearing that some one would die by the toss of a coin....or the fact that McGraw had failed to mention anything about a plan of using a double sided coin. A small tune rummbled behind her lips, seeming to echo in a different language as she began singing to no one, and yet everyone at once.

Chapter 3: Raid on Serpentos Island

'Alright, you w*nkers! Off the boat! We are going to slay a God!' Frederick yelled in order to rally up the crew. 'I'm going first onto the island.' He then thought about Skipper and Jonathan. 'Son, is Jonathan alright?' 'Should be by now, Cap'n! I'll go have a look!' 'Excellent'. Then he climbed up to the Helm and said 'The first boat going out will be a crew of myself, Jonathan, Aras, Scarlette and Skipper. The rest of you organize amongst yourselves. I couldn't give a monkeys.' He saw a book on the fllor and opened a page. 'Death by rum and gas...' He yelled 'Vryn! Catch!' but he missed, hitting a crew man. 'Oops.'

Aras folded his arms. "Alright some real action, let's find this critter." Aras then followed Mcgraw in his actions. The crew team was strong, the leviathan of tale was expected to e enormous, like a king of leviathans. Aras then began thinking to himself. "The water seems darker in these parts..." He unfolded his arms and pulled out his White katana. He had a strategy for placing the white katana in his hands and the black ones on his forearms on most occasions, the white ones were heavier his slashes were alot stronger witht hem, the black ones were lighter, this allows Aras to attack more swiftly. He figured, 1 enemy, he may not be the one being attacked so he could get several heavy slashes in

During all the commotion, for some really odd reason, Scarlette felt light-headed, She had not had anything to drink since that attack, and she was also very nauseous, She laid down on her bed and fell asleep, snoozing a bit...

She suddenly woke up on a beach of some random island, at first she thought she was marooned and alone, She looked around and wondered "What the!? What is this!?". Nobody was in sight for the time being, she looked around again, and to her surprise, she saw some sort copy of herself to her left looking at her, The copy had said "Well then Scarlette, It's about time you had joined me, though We are not here to fight, I am only here to warn you, The fight with the Leviathan will end very bleakly" Scarlette replied "Well Blaniss, Knowing Fredrick, We wouldn't fight a battle we couldn't win" The copy laughed and said "I already had a look at this Fredrick, He hasn't the guts to fight a god!" "There is no f*cking God My idiot Sister! If there was a god, he wouldn't have willed me an Orphan!"
