Pokemon: A Kanto Story

This pokemon fanfic is set in Kanto, set around the FRLG era. it centers around 2, maybe 3 Characters as they try to enter the Kanto League whilst they have to deal with lots of threats from not only Team Rocket, but a Mystery Team (revealed later

[spoiler=Prologue]Prologue: The Night Before

We start the story in the humble town of Pallet. It is a small town that looks pretty and is the hometown of many trainers from Gary Oak to Ash Ketchum and now Silver Yuja.

It is 11:02pm on the night before Silver Yuja, who had just turned 10-years of age that same day and that means tomorrow he gets to start on his Pokemon journey, however instead of resting up he is still wide awake and is watching music programmes on his TV.

"The Buizel Wiggle, out now for the price of $6.99. Do the Wiggle, Do the Buizel Wiggle" said the announcer of the advert on TV

"Wow the Buizel Wiggle, i so want that. Shame i didn't get it for my birthday." Silver said to himself

Unfortunately for the young trainer, because he was still up watching music programmes at a fairly loud volume, his mother could hear it from her room. She got up from her bed and went on the warpath towards Silver's room. When she got there she knocked on the door gradually getting louder until she got his attention and eventually the attention of Silver's little sister Ellie.

"Mom, i was trying to get to sleep and here you are making all this noise."

"Ellie get back to bed." their Mom replied while she was still banging on the door, suddenly Silver shouted,

"Ok i'm coming" Silver opened the door to see who was standing at the door "Yes?"

"Silver, you start your journey tomorrow and here you are watching music programmes, seriously turn your TV and don't forget to set your alarm, otherwise you won't get a pokemon from professor Oak"

Silver was slightly puzzeled by that, and then took the oppetunity to say,

"How did Professor Oak know i turned 10 today? i didn't tell him"

"I don't know honey, but he sent you a postcard, you'll need that too." His mom replied to Silver's question

So Silver decided to look for the postcard, but after about 10 seconds he asked "Where is it?"

"Under your Birthday cards" His Mom told him giving a little sigh whilst Silver looked through all the birthday cards and found the Postcard at the bottom and proceeded to put it on his bedside table, where his alarm clock was which was shaped like a pidgey, he then remembered to set his alarm so he decided to set it for....... 6am, however she saw him set the alarm and told him with a surprised look on her face,

"6oClock? why would you do that? It's just gone 11oClock"

"Well the Early bird catches the worm, or in my case, the early bird catches the Pokemon" Silver replied with a slight smirk on his face

"Do you think Professor Oak would be up that early?" His Mom asked, she then suggested "How about 8oClock?"

Silver reluctantly set the alarm for 8oClock, he agreed to set his alarm for 6oClock so that he and his friend Jordan Clarkson would start their Journey together, so he picked up the phone dialled Jordan's number.

"hello?" Jordan spoke down his side of the phone sounding half asleep

"Hi Jordan, listen what time did you set your alarm for, i was just told to set it for 8oClock." Silver said down the phone whilst trying to not get too loud

"same here, my Mom thought 6oClock was ridiculous, listen mate i got to go, i need my sleep, i'll meet you round yours at 8:30 bye" Jordan quickly said as he put down the Phone, meanwhile silver decided to make a comprimise with his Mom,

"Actually come to think of it, i start my Journey tomorrow, and i do need my rest."

"Ok then goodnight Silver" Said his Mom calmly as she kissed him on the forehead, She then started to go back to her room, but before she got there, Ellie demanded answers, but all she got was the cold shoulder and was told,

"Get to sleep Ellie!" Ellie then went back into her room in a sulk and put her blanket over her as if she was about to cry, but before she got to sleep she wanted to say to silver in a fairly loud inside voice,

"Goodnight Silver!"

However knowing Silver, he deliberately ignored her, just to get her annoyed, and so all 3 of them had gotten to sleep. Tomorrow is the start of Silver Yuja's pokemon journey, what adventures await him in the vast world and more importantly what pokemon will he pick as his starter, only time will tell as the Story begins.

[spoiler=Chapter 1]Chapter 1: Journey's Start

It is 7:58am on the day Silver Yuja starts on his pokemon journey. As the sun rises, it shines through the gaps in the curtains. Usually this would wake up the average person, but not Silver, as the light went into contact with his eyes he moved his head to the left so he can stay asleep. Then as the Clock strikes 8am,

(RING!!) The alarm clock was ringing signalling the fact that it was 8oClock, unfortunately Silver didn't budge. However his sister Ellie woke up at the sound of the alarm and decided to sneak into Silver's bedroom to wake him up

"Wake up Silver!" she shouted, but still he didn't budge, so Ellie decided to go with plan B

"Silver Wake up, it's midday and there is no more pokemon left" she shouted again, but this time it motivated Silver to get up

"What!! you have got to be kidding me!" he complained

"Relax bro, it's only 8, you overslept your alarm... again" she explained

Upon hearing that, he got dressed quickly and bolted down the stairs towards the door but before he can exit the door, his mother stopped him and asked him to have breakfast. Silver explained that he had no time seeing as he slightly overslept his alarm and proceeded to grab his bag with the supplies his mom packed yesterday, but his mother stopped him and insisted he eat breakfast, it was his favourite after all, Hot Dogs.

After he had finished his breakfast, it was time that Silver started on his pokemon Journey. His mother wished him luck, and Silver stepped out of the house slowly then he decided to peg it towards Oak's lab knowing that he is 10 minutes behind Schedule.

Back at the house Ellie wanted to complain at the fact that she can't get a pokemon yet, her mom explained that she wasn't old enough, but Ellie being impatient didn't care what her mom said as she was jealous that her big brother Silver gets to start his journey, and after about 5 minutes of explanations she finally accepted the fact that she wasn't old enough

Meanwhile, whilst Silver was running towards Oak's lab, from a nearby house there was highlights of the big championship match that he conveniently missed because he was watching Music programmes.

"hmm.. i want to know who won that match" He whispred as he only peeked through the window.

"What a powerful Flamethrower from Steven's Flareon, it looked like it was a direct hit." The Commentator said from his booth.
After the flames surrounding the Magneton had subsided, it had no energy left inside, and so after 5 dramatic seconds of panting, Magneton had collapsed onto the ground, the Referee picked up on this and declared,

"Magneton is unable to battle, Flareon wins and so the winner of the Championship battle is..... Steven Rowan"

The fans roared and cheered, happy at the fact that Steven had won, and that brought an end to a fabulous Championship match.

After the highlights show had ended, the person watching it, had changed channels and looked over quite sharply to see what was going on through the windows, but fortunately Silver ducked just in time and then went through with running towards Oak's lab.

Professor Oak's Labratory, famous throughout all of Kanto and beyond, stood out from all the other buildings in Pallet town. It has a wind turbine, three windows for the inner balcony, and four windows of the second floor. Inside the Lab there are many rooms which include the Living room where Professor Oak does his research and a Pokeball storage room where the pokeballs from other Pallet town trainers are stored. Outside the lab, is the Oak Corral, it is a natural environment, and there are areas that are perfect for all types of pokemon including a desert for fire, rock and ground types and several lakes for water types.

When Silver got to the gates of the lab, he found that he had a sticth, it was then where he realised that he had forgotten his bike. When he had the energy to open his eyes he saw a trainer exit the lab with his starter pokemon, it was none other than his best friend Jordan, who Silver agreed to meet yesterday. Silver then opened the gate slowly, as if he was breaking in, and decided to have a conversation with Jordan, to which he started

"Oh hi Silver, what took you so long."

"let's see, i overslept, and i wanted to watch the highlights of the match i missed last night." Silver replied

"that's a suprise, oh yea you want to see the pokemon i got from Professor Oak" Jordan said to Silver revealing the pokeball he received from Professor Oak, he released the pokemon inside to reveal that it was a Bulbasaur a small blue-ish green pokemon with a smooth green bulb on its back. Just at that moment, Professor Oak emerged from the front door to see if the person that Jordan was talking to was also a new trainer. Silver flashed the postcard, and so Professor Oak invited him in.

Oak had invited Silver up stairs and asked him to pick a pokemon. Knowing that Jordan had picked Bulbasaur, Silver had been thinking and decided to pick up the pokeball that contained Squirtle, however it was revealed to be empty, Oak then stated,

"That pokemon was taken was someone that was on time."

Silver lifted the look of disappointment, and then proceeded to pick up the pokeball containing Charmander, when he opened it, it was also empty, Oak then told Silver,

"The early bird catches the worm, or in this case the pokemon."

Upon hearing that, Silver looked even more disappointed, he then thought in his head "I knew i should've woken up earlier." However Oak sensed what Silver was thinking, and could also sense that Silver wasn't going to leave until he got a pokemon, but then he remembered that there was another pokemon, and so the middle slot of the machine opened up and revealed a 4th pokeball. Silver was puzzled to see that there was a 4th pokemon, and Oak insisted he take it. Silver took the pokeball and released the pokeball inside and it was an.... Eevee.

Silver's mood lifted when he got the pokemon, and he thought when the other two pokemon were taken that he wasn't going to get one Professor Oak then gave him his pokedex, that was programmed with his data, and 6 pokeballs to start with. Silver thanked him by leaning forward, going into a bow and then left.

Outside, Jordan was looking at his watch out of boredom, bored of waiting for Silver he was about to leave on his pokemon journey, but just as he was taking a step, Silver had emerged from the lab and ran towards Jordan as if he was stopping he from running away.

"Oh hey Silver, i was just about to leave because i was getting bored, so what pokemon did you end up getting." Jordan asked

Silver grabbed the pokeball with his pokemon inside, but accidently dropped hi other pokeballs, Jordan offered to pick them up and after he had done that, Silver revealed what pokemon he picked, Eevee cae out of its pokeball and went towards Silver affectionately.

"Awww, that's so cute, so i'm guessing you picked that over the other two then." Jordan said in response of Eevee being sent out

"No, not really, the other pokemon were claimed by other trainers, and i thought i wasn't going to get a pokemon until another pokeball had emerged from the machine" Silver replied to him

However before they left for their Journey, Jordan had to go back for his supplies because he had forgotten them. Silver had wondered why he didn't have his supplies with him at the time, but didn't ask, he had thought of taking his bike but he thought against it.

When Jordan exited his house with the things he packed for his pokemon journey both him and Silver were ready as they looked upon the horizon they wondered what adventures would await them, but only time would tell, what their actions would result in.
