"The time machine is a trading card. That...actually doesn't seem so impossible any more." Louise sighed, "I'm as ready as I'm ever going to be." She took the card and tried to concentrate on it, which wasn't easy when [i]"This is stupid"[/i] kept floating through her mind. She pushed them down and began to pay more attention to the card. She could have sworn she saw a faint image appearing on the card. She was about to pass it off as nothing, but mentally scolded herself and tried to make it out what it was. It seemed to be becoming clearer, but bright. A bit too bright...

...Louise looked up. This wasn't outside her house. "Future-boy? Are you here? Where is this place?" She glanced at the card. It now had writing, but it was still blurred, and the image was faint. She shrugged and pocketed the card.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Before you do anything, I activate Ring of Destruction, targeting your Steelswarm Hercules!"[/color] Kaiba shouted.

[color="#8B0000"]"Nice try, but I counter with Infestation Wave,"[/color] Revenova calmly stated, [color="#8B0000"]"I must return Steelswarm Hercules back to my hand, but in return I can destroy your other face-down card. Finally, I activate my last Infestation Ripples, resurrecting my Steelswarm Genesoid for the last time."[/color]

[color="#8B0000"]"Because I sacrifice it to summon Steelswarm Caucastag in Attack Position,"[/color] Revenova answered, [color="#8B0000"]"It's effect allows me to destroy all monsters you control, leaving you wide open for a direct attack."[/color]

Steelswarm Caucastag fired a wave of dark energy at the four monsters. Kaiba could only watch in awe as the monsters were slain in an instant. Now nothing was there to stop this monster from attacking his Life Points.

Steelswarm Caucastag fired two pulses of dark energy straight towards Kaiba, who screamed in pain as he was finally defeated. Aivea ran over to see her father on his knees, clutching his rib cage.

Damian held on to his head with his left arm, struggling to remember, but to no avail. He gave a solemn look as he spoke; "I'm afraid I don't know how I got here...I just seemed to." Suddenly a thought occurred to him, and he checked his duel pad which was on his arm. He took out the deck and checked that everything was still intact. After realising he and his deck and been transported without harm, he gave a large sigh of relief. "At least these are still with me..." Then, he realised what Atsuko had just said.
"Wait...'another universe'? How is it possible to travel from one world to another?!"

"This is the future. Which is where we wanted to be. It also looks like we have landed in Aiya's house, another child of time. And she's dueling!"
Tempus quickly scanned the field, observing who was winning and what was going on. When he saw Aiya's opponent he groaned. He counted down from three and Cassandra spoke in an irritated voice.
"Tempus! What are you doing in my house! Get out right-"
"Sorry but Louise's Tempus pulled her here, I had to follow didn't I? Just get on and duel!" Tempus replied.
Cassandra sighed and began her turn, where an audible tic could be heard, marking the fourth turn count.

"Fine, I draw. I shall summon Harmony Angel (Lv2). This allows me to Special Summon my Fairy of Majesty, but its effects are negated, stats reduced to 0 and level reduced by 1. But hey! Be ready for a good old fashioned Synchro! Come forth; Guardian Angel Erilia!"
A young woman dressed in red velvet robes appeared on the field. Delicate wings sprouted from her back, and she held a wooden staff with a ruby ontop of it.
"Attack the face-down! Shocking Light!"
Erilia flew up and pointed her staff at the hidden monster, firing a beam of red energy at it.

Louise looked at the duel. She thought she might have seen one of them before, back in the past, but not anywhere in particular. Still, if they were another one of these 'Children of Time' she may well have done. The other one she knew she hadn't seen before, but it seemed that she knew - and wasn't very fond of - Tempus. "Don't blame me, future-boy," she told him, "you were the one who's specific instructions for time travel by trading card were, and I quote, 'concentrate'."

She turned to the duel, as a tick could be heard. She was confused for a moment, but just wrote it off as nothing important. The second girl still seemed to be somewhat annoyed - Louise decided apologising for suddenly appearing in her house (even though she didn't have a clue how it happened) after the duel. "So," she added to Tempus, "she doesn't like you, does she? Did you show up at her house and start talking nonsense as well?"

Aiya jumped when two more people suddenly appeared in the room beside them causing Cassandra to give a rather irritated response, apparently knowing one of them named Tempus. She glanced at Tempus briefly, then at the person with him who was looking less than pleased to be here.

[i]Is she another one of these time children things?[/i] She thought to herself [i]And why was here the first place they came to?[/i]

She was so distracted she had completely forgotten that she was duelling until Cassandra declared her attack.

[b]"What? Oh right, crap!"[/b] She panicked briefly, fumbling with her duel disk to activate her face down card [b]"I play Deflect, which negates your attack and inflicts damage to both of us equal to half your monster's ATK!"[/b]

Atsuko nodded. [color=#FF2400]"What? Did you think that only ONE universe was a big place? You have to remember that for every action ever made, there is an parallel universe where that one action was done a bit differently. This means there are an infinite number of possible universes, which is the omniverse. These are grouped into smaller groups which have themes, first megaverses, then multiverses. The universe we are in is part of what is called the 'Duel Monsters multiverse', meaning all of the universes in this multiverse have the common theme of Duel Monsters."[/color] She paused to let this concept sink in for a bit.

Damian was initially left in shock from the detail of the explanation, and Atsuko's "matter-of-fact" tone. "Whoa...That's like something from a Manga I once read..." He said. "Um...so I take it there should be a way for me to get home, right...?" After looking at Atsuko and how she seemed to emit an aura of being out of place, he corrected himself, "[b]us[/b] to get home." Damian proecceeded to walk away to see if he could find anyone else who might be able to help him, but stopped as soon as he realised he wouldn't be able to know where he is. Regrettably, he turned around and faced Atsuko again.
"Um...I think you must know this place better than I do...So since you're still here I guess you've already tried searching for someone to help, right?"

"Contrary to belief, I'm considered 'normal' in this time period, obviously because this is where I was born. So no, I didn't, but Cassandra has something against Time Guardians in general, including her parents. That's why she doesn't like me. However, she REALLY doesn't like me or Astro because of a little duel we had. She and her best friend had a little disagreement with me and Astro, my brother by the way, and they challenged us to a tag duel. They both summoned their ace monsters; Aurora, Angel of Purity and Rose Phoenix. Me and Astro summoned our Ace monsters and beat them. She's hated us ever since." Tempus shook his head, trying not to laugh. "She's probably Tempus Summoning her Angel of Purity now."

"Ugh! Nice move, but a bit of damage won't hurt. I'll end phase. It's all yours Aiya! However, it is already at turn count 4!"

[i]Why does the turn count matter?[/i] Aiya thought as she drew a card to begin her turn, giving a brief nervous glance at their new audience before turning her attention back to her cards [i]Well at least I still have my monster, even if I did just take some damage.[/i]

[b]"Well, err...I'll start by flip summoning Spell Girl - Luna,"[/b] Aiya took her face down card and flipped it around face up into attack position.

The hologram counterpart flipped over and glowed brightly releasing its occupant which appeared as a small girl with teal hair tied in two pigtails and a black and white outfit.

[b]"Now I play Luna's effect,"[/b] Aiya said, taking a card from her hand [b]"By discarding a Spell Card from my hand, I can change one monster on the field into face-down defense position."[/b]

She sent her spell card to her graveyard and luna raised her staff, firing a spell that resembled a black cloud which began to encircle Cassandra's monster.

[b]"Next I use the effect of my Enchanted Sword,"[/b] Aiya continued [b]"Since it was used as cost for my monster's effect I can increase Luna's ATK by 1000 until the end phase."[/b]

A bright glow surrounded Luna, boosting her ATK to 2500.

[b]"Luna, attack the defense monster,"[/b] Aiya ordered.

Luna complied, raising her staff and firing a ball of black energy towards Cassandra's monster.

Louise took a moment to take it in, before looking back to Tempus. "So you and your brother beat her in a card game, and now she hates you. You know, I believe you about you being considered normal, if everyone else in the future is insane as well." She paused and looked back at the duel. Both these girls seemed to be rather good. "So if Cassandra's the one who hates you, then the other one must be Aiya, right? And if she's the girl from the past...

"Go Aiya!" she suddenly yelled, "don't let their stupid future cards confuse you."

[b]ERA: Modern Day
LOCATION: Location of Aiya and Cassandra's Duel[/b]

The skies distorted above the duelists, forming itself into some kind of wormhole. The Blue-Eyes White Dragon Jet flew out of this wormhole, and slowly descended to the ground nearby. Kaiba, who was piloting this jet, was the first to jump out, followed closely by Aivea. He then locked the jet, as per usual, before looking for the Time Guardians' Headquarters.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Where the hell is this thing?"[/color] Kaiba asked himself, [color="#FF8C00"]"He said it was around here somewhere."[/color]

[color="#800080"]"Hey look, Dad, there's people here,"[/color] Aivea pointed to her left, where everyone seemed to be located, [color="#800080"]"And two of them are dueling each other. I wonder who's winning."[/color]

[color="#FF8C00"]"Aivea, we don't have time to watch two amateurs duel each other,"[/color] Kaiba stated, [color="#FF8C00"]"I thought these guys said you've got a multiverse to protect. I hardly see a duty this important worth just skipping over like that."[/color]

Met with no response, Damian decided to try to lighten the downcast mood. He looked at his duel pad and smiled. "I tell you what," he said, trying his best to sound cheerful, "How about we duel? I'm sure we'll enjoy it since we're from different universes and timelines and stuff!" Damian didn't wait for an answer before moving his left hand up to his glasses fram and pressing a button on it, causing the left side of the glasses to suddenly tint red. His D-Pad then proceeded to open up into its box-like shape. "So how about it?"

[Mecha Love]

Cassandra watched her Synchro get destroyed, grinning slightly. As it was destroyed, it changed into multicoloured energy which emited a 'toc' and flew towards a set trap card. Cassandra laughed.
"Activate Trap! Synchro Time! When a synchro monster is destroyed, I add another 2 turn counters, another 2 Tempo!"
Green light burst from the trap and flew upward, towards the roof, where a large circular clock was being formed. This was the source of the tics and tocs. The smaller hand of the clock pointed to a glowing 4, which then pointed to a 6 . Now, things will get interesting. Finished your move?"

Tempus sighed deeply. "Yes, Aiya is like you... a Time Child. However, you are in possession of a Tempus Monster, a 'stupid future card', and I suppose Aiya does too. She may unleash its power in this duel now. She may not anyway..... him?!"
Tempus looked shocked to see Kaiba, Seto Kaiba. He stood ready with his duel disk. "Had a bad encounter with him once, hard to tell which time this kaiba is from, timelines and stuff. We may have never met.... but yeah. Looks like another child appears...."

[Time Psyduck]

"Oh joy, now Seto Kaiba's a time traveller," Louise replied, "this day just keeps on getting more and more wonderful. And [i]now[/i] future boy decides to mention alternate time lines." Louise decided to leave Tempus and go and speak to Kaiba, and the girl who seemed to be with him. After all, it wasn't often one could meet a celebrity, and Louise had always thought Kaiba's attitude was cool. Most people would call it rude, but then Louise found most people were often rather annoying. Besides, speaking to someone from the past in the future was a bit too ironic for Louise to be quite able to resist.

"Hello Mr Kaiba," she said, suddenly feeling slightly nervous. "My name is Louise Barnes, and it is an honour to meet you."

((OOC: first, Admiral, the duel is taking place inside so unless you just crashed through the ceiling you can't just spot people duelling and second, ED, Erilia's effect says when its destroyed [i]except[/i] by battle so her effect shouldn't apply, also your lp should be 2700 due to Magical Blast's effect.))

Aiya looked up and jumped when she saw the clock in the cieling, looking between it and Cassandra with a puzzled and surprised expression. She was wondering why Cassandra was using so many cards that changed the turn count and she guessed it was something to do with the massive clock up there, yet she didn't see any cards in play for it and neither did she understand what it was there for.

[i]Why do I not like the look of where this is going?[/i] She thought to herself.

Same list as Aivea, as a matter of fact. But that must mean she's a Child of Time as well... Why's she standing around here not protecting the multiverse or whatever she's supposed to do?'[/color]

[color="#800080"]"I'm Aivea, his daughter,"[/color] Aivea had meanwhile butted in to greet herself, [color="#800080"]"We sure did make a grand entrance, huh?"[/color]

Aivea looked up through a hole in the ceiling above them. It was unknown how this hole appeared. Perhaps that part of the ceiling was torn asunder by the wormhole that brought the Blue-Eyes White Dragon Jet to this era.

[color="#800080"]"Wonder who's paying for that?"[/color] Aivea wondered

"Nice to meet you, Aivea," Louise replied, also looking at the hole that had been punched in the ceiling above them. "That looks like an expensive job. Unless your father pays, I think it's down to the girl who's place this is, unless these Time Guardian people decide to cough up." She turned back to look at the girl. This was Seto Kaiba's child - she came from Louise's own past. Suddenly this whole thing seemed a lot bigger than it had.

"Anyway, what are a famous CEO and his daughter doing in the future?" she asked. "Did you have someone show up and start saying crazy things to you as well?"

[color="#800080"]"Not really, the Time Guardian that addressed us was pretty believable,"[/color] Aivea admitted, [color="#800080"]"Although I still don't know why we Children of Time are running away from the very people we're supposed to protect the multiverse from. Just seems stupid to me. That's why we came here, 'cause apparently this old goat has some answers,"[/color]

[color="#FF8C00"]"Which reminds me..."[/color] Kaiba interjected, [color="#FF8C00"]"We better start finding this old goat pretty fast,"[/color]

[color="#800080"]"But Daaaaad, we don't even know where he is,"[/color] Aivea complained.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Yeah, but standing here's not gonna help us find him, now is it?"[/color] Kaiba asked rhetorically.

"Well I only just got here," Louise admitted, "and I'm looking for answers myself, since the one that showed up for me basically said 'Trust me, because I was willing to duel your brainwashed mother.' Still, he should be useful for directions if nothing else. Hey, future boy!" she called, "apparently there's some old goat who actually has some answers. I don't suppose you can tell us something useful for once and give us directions to where he is, can you?"

"As for why we're running, I have no idea either. If it's anything like any other fantasy series where ordinary kids have to save the world, it's so they can tell us everything and train us and all that cliché nonsense."

Atsuko seemed a bit embarrassed. [color=#FF2400]"Umm...to tell you the truth, I'm not all that good. For some reason, I don't have the family dueling spark. Both of my parents are amazing at dueling, but I'm terrible. I keep making mistakes, I'm at the bottom of my class at the Ryusei Dueling Academy, and I am having to take tutoring sessions in The Realm. Plus, since I always lose to Synchro Monsters, I've developed an irrational fear to them, according to the school's counselor."[/color] She continued to pout. [color=#FF2400]"I bet you're some hot shot duelist who has never lost a single duel."[/color]

Damian looked vacantly at Atsuko for a moment, then smirked slightly before raising his hand to his mouth. After five seconds he couldn't hold it in any longer, and he burst out laughing. "Irrational fear of Synchros!" he laughed, tears falling from his face. After a few minutes he calmed down and stood himself upright again, trying to look apologetic and conforting. "Anyway, I'm no hotshot. I constantly lose back home because I'm 'behind the times'...I use Synchros because I like them, but everyone else uses the more modern Xyz monsters, so they call me 'retro' or 'square'. Just about anything which is a reference to my seemingly out-of-date cards." He smiled, but this time it was a kind one. "I've barely won a single match outside of my friend circle. My only win in a tournament was due to my only Xyz monster...where did I put it...?" He opened his D-Pad's 'XTRA' box and took out a card from it. He showed it to Atsuko; a simple standard rank-4 Xyz monster with the picture of a strange being with a sword and shield who lacked shoulders, proper legs or a neck.
"This is the nly Xyz Monster I've ever needed or wanted. Digihuman Warrior Exces."

Then, Damian felt something strange in his mind. He was remembering his school life, but something was changing. One moment, he remembered himself being with his friends in his school's cafeteria, but within a heartbeat, he was all alone, without a single friendly soul around him. Damian instantly seemed to become more reclusive as a result, as well as confused as to why he had just mentioned some friends which don't exist. However, he still wanted to be conforting to Atsuko.
"How about..." he began, trying to think of what would be the best thing to deal with her fear, "how about you face your fear? Apparantly it's the only way to overcome a fear unless you're a sim." He laughed slightly at his own joke. "Okay, first step; holding a Synchro card." He took out several Synchro Digihumans from his Extra Deck and handed one of them over; Digihuman Sync Kid. The picture resembled a small child, also lacking anything to link his arms, legs and head to his body, surrounded by Synchro Rings with two level stars connected to each ring. "This one isn't scary. I think it's a cute card."

Atsuko studied the card and agreed. It was kinda cute with the little Level Star-themed clothing. But he didn't really understand. [color=#FF2400]"Thank you for trying to help, but I didn't mean an irrational fear of Synchros as in just seeing a card scares me. I meant in a duel. Whenever someone Synchro Summons, I just lock up. I can't think of anything to do because I know from experience that when someone Synchro Summons, I am usually defeated shortly after Synchro Summoning, which is why I dread someone summoning a Tuner and a non-Tuner."[/color] She sighed in her depression. [color=#FF2400]"It doesn't help that I don't have any Synchro Monsters of my own..."[/color]

Damian still seemed close to laughing, but this time he thought it was more understanable. He took the card and put it back. Then he pulled out a black card with a strange, starry pattern across it. He showed to Atsuko.
"I don't see what the big fuss is about. A tuner and a non-tuner is nothing compared to these 'Xyz' Monsters. They fit in with virtually any deck, since they only need a certain number of monsters with the same level. Allow me to demonstrate..."
He showed Atsuko the mechanic behind playing an Xyz monster, which was extremely simple and easy to swarm. "If anything," he started, "you should be worried about these. They are quite popular at home and one of the reasons I'm so easily defeated." Then he remembered something and pulled out a few old Synchros he'd kept in his back pocket. He handed them over to Atsuko; Goyo Guardian, Darkstrike Fighter and Briomac, dragon of the ice barrier. he smiled and shook the hand holding the cards, revealing 3 tuner monsters underneath each one; Force, Dark and Flare Resonators.

"Here." He said, still smiling. "If that's the case, then I guess you should take some Tuners and synchros to use - maybe that would be more appropriate to conquering the fear of an opponent synchro summoning."

Atsuko took the cards and examined them, deciding that they were not so bad, so she placed them in her deck, unaware of what was about to happen. She then briefly hugged Damian. [color=#FF2400]"Thank you for helping me."[/color] She then got an incredible idea, so she got up and asked him. [color=#FF2400]"Would you be willing to duel against me? Maybe winning with these new cards could help me and boost my spirits!"[/color] She took a position in the middle of the road, ready for him to take a similar position opposite of her. [color=#FF2400]"Please go easy one me. Wait, don't go easy on me! Or maybe...I don't know!"[/color]
