Assembling the Cards of Armageddon [LOCK]

Recommended Posts

Sam looked at the horseman. Well that explains everything apart from the gates, but they're not my gates, so I guess it's not that important. So, we have to go up against the four horsemen of the apocolype, huh? She paused for a moment, considering her options. "Let's see." She held her right hand, palm up, in front of her. "Fight the horsemen of the apocalypse, or," she raised her left hand to match, "roll over and die." She moved her hands up and down for a moment, mimicking a pair of scales, before dropping her left arm. "Fight," she declared, "not that I'd really consider giving up, especially since that'd be it for everyone else as well."

Dex accepted his card 'Dexalas', and looked back up at the strange horseman. "So Conquest, how are we even meant to beat the horsemen? Jace can't be everywhere at once, and where does that leave us? What is it that we need to do?" Dex stared around the rest of the group, hoping that maybe one of them would have inspirational words able to explain what each of them could do.

Albel nods and takes his card 'Albelalos'. At this moment, the spirit of 4-D Space Mage comes out. This spirit had so much energy that every one could see her. "Isn't it simple? You are all Jace's warriors, his knights. All you have to do is stall the Horsemen long enough for Jace to reach you and take over. These cards Conquest gave you are supposed to help you do this. Why would Albel's chosen card affect us if he wasn't supposed to use it to help stall against a horseman. Here, let me give the chosen one a little gift." The mage flies around to each duelist, touches their heads with her spear-like staff, then raises it high above her head. Suddenly, 7 cards fall from the sky, and land in front of Jace. The images on the cards are blank, but each has the name of one of the duelists other than Jace. "There, now if any of you have to stall a horseman, Jace here can see what you see during the duel and hurry to assist you. And don't fret, they only activate when you enter a duel, so Jace here can't spy on anyone." The mage giggles then disappears.

Conquest then said 'Thank you fairy. The card's shall be usefull, however I fear these could be used against us. To prevent this...' He breathed on the cards. 'Now, they shall be visible to only the Chosen. He then turned to Sam and said 'Take your guardian card' He handed her Samanthania. He then decided a battle plan 'Now, we will seige induvidual lands, if we spread out we may cover more land but we are in less numbers. From the centre lands War resides in the east, in America. The land where he has trodden on has became tainted by anger and war will rise. In the East, in China, Pestilence continues spreading diseases to the people there and they are suffering. In the South, in Tanzania, Famine kills all the crops, wild life and food of any kind, starving the victims in these areas. In the North, the North Pole, resides the cold hearted Death. That region isn't populated because of the harsh environment. But now Death lurks in every corner...' He took a breath and then continued. '...We will raid the Hoursemen's lands, the Chosen eliminating any threat blocking Jace and the Horsemen.'

"So we split up and stall the horsemen for long enough for Jace to get there? Is that the plan? Well I hope you're able to fly because Jace is going to have more than enough travelling to do. Well I suppose we have no other choice. I'll head to the East, to China to find Pestilence. Anyone care to join me?" Dex checked around the group, waiting to see where the rest would choose to go. He thought to himself:"God, Jace better be quick with getting round the globe. He's gonna struggle being in 4 places at once, and we happen to be the front line. If he doesn't get there in time I'm not gonna wait for him to save my ass." After drifting off for a few seconds in his own thoughts, Dex returned to reality. "Any suggestions on how to get to China quickly anyone?" Dex looked at the horsemen, although he'd answered a lot of question, there would be plenty more he'd have to answer, many problems they'd have to solve.

Jaces eyes looked to Dex as he clenched his hand into a fist. While looking like a signal of malicious intent, it was actually a way to summon 4 hellicopters. "Courtesy of KiabaCorp." He said as the choppers flew over head. "Each one will take someone to where they need to go. The hard part is figuring out which horseman to take on first. Famine and Pestilence would be the most destructive, War and Death can wait for me to show up, but they need to be kept an eye on." He kept his look to Dex. "You want to go to China? Fine, I'll go after Famine in Tanzania, I'll make it as quick as I can."

Pretending not to be impressed, he stared up at the descending helicopter, but thats obviously what was to be expected of Jace. Dex knew that he'd have to go after Pestilence alone at first, but he had confidence that either he would be able to hold his own or that Jace would turn up in time to carry on with him. His mind made up, Dex headed towards the area where the helicopters were about to land. looking back at the group, Dex said "Last call for China" before walking towards the helicopters. "I sure hope I know what I'm getting involved in."

Track watched as he saw other people getting their card. Track looked a every one around him then at the horseman. " Hey lets forget me now. I want to be involved just as much as every one else." Track smiled and looked around once again. " I may be younger than pretty much every one else but im definately not the weakest." Then Track saw that jace had brought some helicopters to take evry one to the place where they would go to hold off the horsmen until Jace managed to get their. " Well really i dont mind, where i go cause i can go anywhere. Oh but first do you mind giving me the card first.2 Then just to make sure he sounded polite. " Please."

Mia smirked at the situation they were in, she had just recently decided not to help cause the end of the world so things were pretty rattled up in her head. "I think I'll go to the North Pole." This may have come to a shock to some people, there was nothing at the North Pole really and Death was probably not going to move and therefore could be saved for last. "Look." Mia said, taking her chose card from the horseman. "I have my reasons for doing things that I probably shouldn't, you could all stand there thinking I'm crazy or you can come with me; either way, I'm going to the North Pole." Mia said and than boarded the helicopter that'd take them to the North Pole.

Sam looked at the card she had been given. She was slightly worried by the fact that it had her name on it, but since it didn't exactly look much like her, it was probably coincidence or something. Still the card looked as though it might be useful - in another deck. It didn't look like it would suit hers that much.

"I'll go to the North Pole as well," she spoke up, having brought her attention back to the conversation. "Well, we at least need to keep an eye on them, and frankly even if you don't think it'll move it's the most dangerous of the lot. It's death, it's the very reason we're worried about all of them isn't it?" She climbed aboard the helicopter after Mia. Besides, regardless of what Conquest says, I still want to try and take them down without him, and it's probably best to try with the one that's miles away from anyone. She began to rack her head. She'd read Revelation at one point. she couldn't remember it very clearly, yet she seemed to think it wasn't quite the same as how things were going here.

Dex boarded the Helicopter bound for China alone, thoughts racing through his head. Ordering the pilot to go as fast as he could, Dex was determined to get to the horsemen of Pestilence as soon as possible. Dex remembered what Conquest had said about Jace being the only one who might be able to defeat the horsemen, but Dex was confident he could hold his own. As the helicopter rose off the ground, bound for China, Dex began to think to himself. "This is it. The moment I can finally prove myself. This tournament might not be happening anymore, but that doesn't mean that I won't still be able to accomplish what I came here to do. This is a chance to show my talent. Pestilence, you're going down....

Conquest spoke 'Here is your card.' He handed Track Trackalos. 'Before we go, ensure we have all received our Cards.'...

Meanwhile in China...
Pestilence travelled along the Great Wall, spreading disease wherever he went. 'My my! What an ugly landscape! Well, I don't suppose my curse'll make it worse! HAHAHA!'

Meanwhile at the North Pole...

Death was travelling straight to the very northern pole on the Earth. Behind his was a trail of dead animals and plants that would soon rot and be covered by the snow.

Meanwhile in Africa...
'Hmm...these people need to suffer. Hunger, thirst! Greed corrupts humanity, famine kills greed!' Famine said maniacally as he rode, causing all those he passed to starve, die of thirst, etc.

Meanwhile in New York...
'Ahh...the riots signify the end.' War said triumphantly as he tore a city into two, causing them to fight against one another. 'The entire United States shall yield.'

Back at the manor...
'Ok, I'll go with you girls.' Terry said. Conquest stopped him 'No. You must go with Jace. He will need you wherever he travels.' 'Alright, looks like I'm stuck with you, Jace.'

"Be still my heart." Jace said, the evident sarcasm dripping from his tongue. "If you are all done lolly gagging about we have a world to save." He said as he boarded the chopper and looked to the others. His eyes seemed to hold a bit of concern for everyone, but he would never admit to it. He tipped his hat over his eyes and settled into the seat as he waited for Terry to get on. "Better make yourself comfortable....this is going to be the only relaxing we have for a while." He tipped his hat up a bit as he looked to everyone. "Get some sleep if you can, you're going to need every ounce of strength I would imagine."

Track saw that terry wasn't able to join the girls to go and face death, so he decided that he would go instead. Track began to walk towards the helicopter heading towards the north pole. ". Well I'm going to give you girls the honour of being with me." Track jumped on the helicopter and sat down. He looked at the girls. " Your gonna need someone who can stand the cold and isn't effected by peoples deaths. Being an orphan I've taken extremle cold winters and both my parenta being dead. But that's never stoped me." Track looked at the two others. He looked at the one in mens clothes. He thought he had seen that person before but then thought he was mistaken and decided not to take note of the person.

(Sam looks androgynous and is wearing men's clothes. She shouldn't be instantly seen as a girl. She's also lost most of her hair over a few minutes, so at the very least it'd take a second glance and some surprise to realise that Sam is "Samantha.")

Sam stood up, and began to steer Track off the helicopter. Then she changed her mind and stepped down herself. "You know what, forget it. I'll go after War," she explained. "We don't need three of us to go after one that's only victims are going to be polar bears and birds. Sad as their loss may be, the others are causing problems for people. Keep death on the ice," she told them. "Keep it away from people, and if possible keep it still. Good luck." She then headed over to the last helicopter, bound for the Americas. Ah, who'd thing my first visit to the US would be under these circumstances, she sighed as she sat down.

Albel hops in the helicopter bound for America. He takes a seat across from Sam, and takes out his deck. As he thumbs through his cards, he adds the card Conquest gave him, and begins to ponder. If we're headed after War, I fear things on ground level may become a bit too violent. I know I can hold my own in a street fight, but I don't know about my little compatriot. I just hope I don't have to rely on the 'special' modifications I've made to my gauntlet and Duel Disk. But if I must use them, then so be it. All I'm afraid of is what War will have in store for us... Albel's eyes have now gone into a spaced out look, and its obvious to anyone he must be in deep thought.

As the Helicopter's blades began to spin again, Dex couldn't help but thinking something was going to go wrong. After all, everyone else had split off into pairs, two to America, two to the North Pole and even Jace had Terry with him on the way to Tanzania. As the blades began to spin, Dex began to feel isolated. "Yet again, I've been isolated....but I've been here before, and I can manage on my own." As the various helicopters all started preparing for their ascent and to split up, all Blake could think about was how he would only be able to rely on himself. Staring down at his deck, 'Dexalas' now among those cards, Dex hoped that it would be enough to get him through the next day. "Don't let me down guys...."

Sam watched as a young man with an odd gauntlet over one arm boarded the helicopter she was sat it, and then began to look through his deck, deep in thought. He seemed rather zoned out. Sam suspected he was preparing himself for what they were about to fight. For all that had been said about War not being an immediate threat, the horseman was now in a large, populous country with international influence, a large military and which was already rather trigger-happy. If he was left alone, they wouldn't get to him before the US had invaded the rest of the planet.

She leaned forward and tapped the other passenger on the arm. "Hey," she said, "we haven't been introduced, and since we'll be working together it might help." She offered a hand. "Sam Fox. And you are...?"

Sliding his deck back into his duel disk, Albel takes Sam's hand. "Albel Smith. It's a pleasure to meet you Sam. Unfortunately I wish it would have been under more better circumstances." He looks at his arm, and at all the etchings and engravings carved into it. "You'd best be prepared. Where we're going, it'll be like entering an endless pit of cruelty. Brother vs. brother, family vs. family. I wouldn't be surprised if we get charged the moment we get off this helicopter by some war crazed lunatics." A spark of brilliance shines through his eyes, and he reaches into his pocket. He pulls out a pocket watch, and opens it. Inside, a picture of the old man Albel helped rests, while the clocks glass was cracked, and the gears wouldn't turn. It was almost as if the clock symbolized the world in this state of Armageddon. "Now I understand why he chose me. He knew I wouldn't back down, unlike his family. Because unlike them, I had nothing. And yet I had the most powerful force in the world.....Hope." He closes the watch. and slides it back in his pocket.

"Please don't patronize me," Sam replied, "you must be what, 2 years older than me? 3 at the most. I'm well aware that anywhere War is will be violent; why do you think I came and left the kid to go keep an eye on Death?"

She watched him take a watch from his pocket. "Hope, huh? I like hope. But what do you mean he 'chose you?' Who exactly chose you, and what did he chose you for?

"Sorry," she added, "I just get curious about things. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." She pulled out the card Conquest had given her again, trying to figure out how she might be able to use it.

"Don't worry, I don't mind telling." He sets his arms across his lap. "It began when I was little. My parents, they were Turbo Duelists. Big shots, had their whole future ahead of them. Until they entered a big tournament. The night before the tournament, some rival duelists snuck in to their garage, and sabotaged their runners. Middle of the race, they both crash and die in probably one of the worst accidents in turbo dueling history. I was thrown in an orphanage shortly after. The kids there taught me how to duel, and I quickly picked it up. By the time I was 18, I was one of the best street duelists ever. Then one day, we held the duels in an old warehouse. Someone decided that they wanted to burn the place down. Most people got out, but I was trapped, pinned by burning wood rafters that fell on my left arm. The event left me in a coma for six months. Well when I woke up, my arm was covered in the gauntlet you see before you. Well, in the bed adjacent to me was an old man. He was dying, and none of his family was there with him. Well, we got to talking with each other, and he asked me to help him write his will, as he was sure the lawyer wouldn't arrive in time. Feeling a sense of remorse for him, I helped him to divide his belongings among his family. When we had finished, he gave me his deck, saying that there was still one person who showed true compassion, and that I had hope, something none of his family had for him. I was released from the hospital a couple days after he died, and I was the only person to attend his funeral. I kept his picture as a way of keeping my spirits up when things look grim. He has always had my back in duels, and I trust he still has it today." He wipes a tear from his eye. "And anywhere I've went, he's been there to help me right wrongs. He is a part of my deck, and he has never let me down."

"I'm sorry, but your life story is kind of depressing," Sam admitted, "still, at least it ends on a more positive note. I can only hope this whole 'horsemen of the apocalypse' deal has a good ending. For all of us." She paused for a minute, looking down at the card she was holding. No synergy with my deck at all. I mean I guess I could use it as a beatstick, but my Jurracs do that well enough themselves. Oh well, I guess I just ended up with the short straw. She pushed it into an inside pocket out of the way. "So then, what's your deck like. If we're going to work together, we should probably know at least the basics of each other's decks, you know, in case we end up in a tag duel or something."

Miqea was kinda flustered as to what was going on now. Everyone got together for a huge banquet in celebration of what was suppose to be a tournament that was to kick start the next day, and now all of a sudden they were talking about going to completely different continents. As much as Miqea could gather, there was no tournament.

"Wait a minute, what's happening to the tournament?" she asked, "Isn't that why were all here in...? Actually, forget what I said, I'm just too tired at the moment. I'll just go back home to New York, after I get some rest."

Miqea headed inside the helicopter bound for America and slumped down on the floor, as she was about to fall asleep.

"My deck is a...." He pauses, thinking of a way to describe his deck. "It's a deck whose main focus is on the massive swarming of monsters onto the field. You see, all my level 4 and below 4-D Space monsters can't be normal summoned or set unless I use a card effect. However, if I manage to inflict battle damage to my opponent, then I can swarm my side of the field with monsters. This allows me to quickly tribute for my better level 5 and higher monsters, and they in turn allow me to boost my weaker monsters with some really good abilities. My best monsters are Blair -Queen of 4-D Space, Luther - True Ruler of 4-D Space, and my 4-D Space Ultimate Warrior, but they all have somewhat difficult summonings to pull off. So how about your deck?"

Cards mentioned:

"We're out of here, let's go Track." Mia said, remembering his name from the introductions at dinner. The pilot nodded at Mia's request and started taking off. "Please keep all body parts inside the copter at all times, we'll be heading to the North Pole an will be there in about six hours, please fasten your safety belts and enjoy the ride." The pilot announced, not using the PA system, just yelling back to them what to expect out of their ride, the helicopter took off quickly from the manor grounds...
