Assembling the Cards of Armageddon [LOCK]

Recommended Posts

Mia stood up and stretched the same as Trak did and he let herself off of the helicopter and saw the rough snowy landscape except it seemed to be very shadowed now because of deaths recent decent onto it. "Let's try to just observe him first, see if he makes a move or if he just wants to stay here in seclusion; if he makes a move than we'll have to make haste on him and challenge him." Mia explained and than grabbed a heavy coat that was provided but her body was actually quite warm for some reason; the feeling of pre-death she suspected. She put the coat back, knowing she'd not need it now; then she started to walk away from the site of the helicopter. "I'll be here when you come back." He said, Mia already a few feet away...

Miqea slowly stirred, but she still wasn't wide awake, completely unaware of what was going on in her home town of New York.

"We're here already?" Miqea asked groggily, "But it's only been about 10 minutes..."

Perhaps if her energy wasn't drained by those cursed plants, she wouldn't likely be so tired, but right now she just wanted to fall right back asleep, preferably on a nice, comfortable dead with a fluffy pillow.

Track began to walk out of the helicopter. Whilst he was listening to Mia he didn't realise that she had already began to walk off$ track saw that she decided not to take a coat. Track was sure he could take it for now but the cold would start to get colder so he decided to take a jacket just in case. Track ran to catch up with Mia. " So Mia where exactly are we going I mean is there even anywhere for us to go." Track looked up at Mia waiting for her to explain what they were going to do and where they we're going.

[OoC] Great duel guys!

'Ok, Jace, what's your plan of action?' questioned Terry, looking at him with his very intense eyes. 'You can say your going for him, but Africa is known to be hot and have deadly creatures, not to mention diseases. Also, with Famine their, it'll be much much worse.' Terry lookd at his Chosen Card, Terranaus, only saying 'Why does my card support your's so efficiently?'

Conquest spoke to Jace telepathically 'Jace, Famine's Deck will weaken your monster's spirits. You must finish the duel quickly or your monster will not only have no power, they will perish due to lack of life force. And before you ask, no. I can't stop it, but I am unaffected by it.'
Jace looked to Terry, though said nothing. His eyes then looked to the card of Conquest. "Drain monster spirits huh?" He thought for a moment, his eyes looking over the landscape as they were coming closer. "How to get around that...." He smirked a bit as his eyes looked to Terry again. "Simple...don't use monsters. Focus solely on Spells and Traps." He chuckled a bit. "I know just what to use..." He pulled down a tray and picked up his brief case, opening it and revealing a rather impressive assortment of cards. "Time to get....creative...."

Sam didn't bother to correct her on the timing. It probably would seem like ten minutes to her as well if she'd dropped off before the helicopter had even left. "Sorry, but we have to move on. We're leaving the helicopter, so you'll need to wake up." To make her point, she began to unclip the groggy girl from the seat. She can't fight like this, Sam decided, so she needs taking somewhere she can be safe- that might work. "Miss, can you tell me-" Sam suddenly gave herself a mental slap "-your name, and also, where your house is." She looked to Abel, who seemed to be more secure about the situation. There's something odd about him, but he seems to be on our side, so I'll worry about that later. Priorities, Sam, priorities.

"Muh... my house?" Miqea struggled to think, where did she live? "I... I'm sure it's in this city... somewhere... but for the life of me, I can't remember where."

Suddenly though, as she was still trying to think where she lived, something different clicked for Miqea; she remembered seeing this person watching her duel with Mia. Although Miqea did think this person had changed from a girl to a guy.

"Hey, you saw me dueling Mia when we were suddenly ensnared by those plants, weren't you? Then again, you definitely were a girl back then. Never caught your name... oh right, mine's Miqea,"

War continued his charge towards the duelists. He was trampling people with his horse, which set them on fire. He took out his sword and pointed it towards the helicopter's blades. A bolt of red lightning struck the helicopter's blades, making it useless. 'Fools!' He reached his targes. He dismounted and said. 'Welcome to New York, post appocalypse.' He saw the drowzyness in Miqea's eye, which he took offence to. 'I apologize, child. Do I bore you? Does my flaming beast borre you! Does the catastrophy I sent to this place bore you!! Does your inevitable destruction bore you!!! ANSWER ME!!!' He roared ferociously. 'YAAAARGH!!!' A bolt of lightning flashed again. 'I am War, the most VIOLENT hoursman, and you shall all feel the smite from mine blade!'

Meanwhile back in the copter...

'Jace?' Terry asked him, who was looking at Conquest's card. 'Jace, you in there?'

Conquest continued. 'Famine is known to be dangerous, we must finish this quick. Only famine alone knows how to torture and he isn't affraid to do just that.'

"The name's Sam," she replied. "Yes, I saw your duel, and I've never not been a girl. I just prefer these clothes." However, before she said any more, War arrived, and proceeded to berate Miqea. Sam moved between them.

"Yes, we can tell you're violent," she told the horseman. "You've certainly done a good job of making a mess of this place. Is that it? Are you just the guy who goes around hitting things? 'Cause that's kind of pathetic. Unlike you, humans stop and rest. Really, you should try it some time. It would do wonders for your temper, seriously." Sam stood her ground, watching the horseman for any sign that he might do something rash - well, that was probably going to happen, the real question was what he'd do.

'RRAAGRRGGHH!! How dare you! You puny beings of flesh and bone hold nout to mine power divine!' Suddenly a drunken aggresive man ran up to him, speaking slurred. 'He-he-hey man...! Leave thoses girlses alone...dude...like what did they do-' War picked him up by his head, and crushed it in his hands. 'Never...get...in...my...way...again.' He told the corpse. He refocussed. 'Now then, prepare to die!' He drew out his sword, dismounted and began walking towards them. The blade began to flame, as his eyes did also. It was obvious he had no intention of sparing anyone, he was ready to destroy anything in his path.

(OOC: Kyng, Sam is dressed in such a way that it needs at least a second look to determine she's not male. Random drunks worried about their safety shouldn't be identifying her gender that easily. I'll grant that she looks like an effeminate male and he has beer goggles on for this one, but Terry did the same thing)

Sam winced as the drunk's demise. "OK, note to self, War has no self-control. Right, Miqea, get ready to run," she added to the girl behind her. "There's no wonder no-one likes you," she added, lowering her arms so as to be able to remove a card from her deck without drawing attention to it. "If all you can do is maim and kill, then people will shun you. Do you ever get lonely, Mr War? Do you actually feel anything besides anger and hate? Because humans do. They feel love, and compassion, and they have the wisdom to do the right thing - well, most of them, anyway. You may be some magical being, but the beings of flesh and blood are so much more than you could ever be."

She had the card from her deck, ready, half-in her duel disk. All she had to do was wait for him to actually deliver the blow.

'Lonely. What is this that you speak, young man? Us hoursemen no nothing but our cause.' War said, his blade's flamming now dimming. It appeared as if he was calming down. 'I was created to feel nothing, and so I cannot, but yet, strangely I feel something inside me...' He sat down on a pile of debris. 'Death was made cold, sinister and unspoken. I was made ruthless, furious and destructive. Famine was made cunning, manipulative and sadistic. Pestilence wasn't made...our true fourth brother is Conquest. Pestilence was a different entity, and not a hoursmen.' He then cradled his head in his hands. 'I am uncontrollable, but there was one, my only true love, Medea...' War strangely started crying.

That's it! Sam realised. She'd had that odd feeling for a while now, that somehow the story didn't quite match up with what was in the original source, but since it had been years since she'd read it she couldn't recall it until now. She was stunned to see him suddenly break down, and flipped over the card so that it hit her duel disk face-down. "That," she replied, "what you're feeling right now, is loneliness. Loneliness and love, or so it seems." She sat down alongside the horseman. "None of us have to be what we are created to be. I'm almost unrecognisable from what my parents put so much effort into making me myself." She felt very much like putting her arm around him, but worried that it might be seen as an attack or something, and this War was far easier to deal with than one that simply wanted to kill everything. "Fighting your nature may be hard, but it's possible. Many have already done it, and so can you."

Jace looked up for a moment, then back at the assortment. "Yeah, you;d be surprised just how skilled I can be at multi-tasking." He chuckled. "Finishing quickly huh? Easy, just need this.....and this...." Jace spoke as his hands seemed to fly through the cards, soon finishing what he was working on. Over the speaker the pilot spoke. "Attention please, we are nearing our destination, prepare for final descent. Jace closed the case and tucked it under his seat, putting his blue-eyes deck in his pocket and his new deck into the duel disk slot. "Better get ready, this surely will be a duel for the ages." He nodded slowly, watching the ground coming up fast as they landed.

Mia was ahead of Trak but he soon caught up and asked questions on what they were going to do and where they were going. "Simple, we're going to the place where death obviously is." Mia pointed to a giant pointed iceberg that seemed to have a funneling blizzard around it, acting as some sort of squall barricade. "That's most definitely where death is, remember though, we're not dueling him unless he tries to relocate." Mia said as they continued walking towards the iceberg castle...

Track put the snow coat he had taken and put it on just incase it was colder inside the giant castle of ice. He placed his hands behind his head, looked up at Mia and carried on walking. " Alright. I cant wait." Mia had said that they werent facing Death until they were certain he was going to relocate. " So were only going to duel him if hes planning to relocate and spread around." Track scratched his head wandering about something. " And what about if he isnt ready to move around yet and decides to stay here for longer. Will we just leave him be." Track waited for Mia to answer his question.

"Apparently that's the case for this." Mia said, as they finally had crossed the wall of blizzard and then took cover behind smaller spikes of ice and snow mounds. It's been made quite clear that we can't finish these people off so lets at least monitor them and make sure they don't hurt anyone else." Mia said, as they moved to another hunk of ice and snow, trying to avoid being seen by anyone that Death may have guarding his fortress.

Track moved from one place to another making sure he wasnt seen by anyone Death might of had guarding the area. Track wasnt too sure if Death would have anyone guarding the fortress. He carried on following Mia. " And what if he has some sortof minion or something thats waiting for us and guarding the place." Track was following Mia and then he smiled to himself. " Oh yeah. If he those have anyone or anything protecting him then that just means that we get to have a little fun before we have to handle Death." Track carried on making sure he wasnt seen by anyone, guarding the fortress of Death.

Meanwhile in Death's Castle...

Death sat upon a frozen throne, motionless, soundless. He lifted his hand, and the blizzard stopped. This revealed his castle in pure light. It was obvious he was unprotected and isolated in his fortress. His eyes glowed and he said his first words since his descent. 'Your not here yet.' Suddenly the doors of his castle shattered.

Back in New York...

War continued his story. 'We were to be married in a beautiful abbey at midday during the Summer Solstice. I remember it, it is the only thing I remember of my past life.' He then explained what he meant. 'I wasn't always a Hoursmen. We are spirits, but without bodies where nought. I was once a young handsome man, and I was to marry Medea. When she walked down the aisle, oh my dear child, you'd never have seen a more beautiful sight!'...*Flashback*...

In a large abbey, the man who became War stood in a black tunic. It was medieval times, and then bridal music could be heard. 'Medea...' Medea walked down to the altar, in an elegant white dress, with a veil gracefully covering her face. 'Romero, she's beautiful.' the man who appeared as the groom's best man said, confirming War's past name. 'I-I-I' Medea approached him. 'What's wrong?' noticing the stuttering words. 'My love, it is your grace that tickles mine tongue.' Suddenly, as the wedding progressed, Medea fainted...*End of Flashback*...

'My heart was shattered, and I had no purpose. War took my body and soul...'

However, in Tanzania...
Terry prepared his deck, ensuring Terranaus was in it. He left the helicopter with a leap to the ground. After collecting himself he said 'Ok, lets see...oh my god.' What Terry saw was a barren wasteland what used to be a forest. Corpses laid all over, he was shocked. Terranaus appeared. 'Horrible is it not? You see why you must do this?' 'Yes, of course. It is my number 1 priority.'

Jace exited the chopper, holding his hat from being blown off by the wind created from the spinning blades. He looked back to the pilot and waved him off as he stood up and looked to Terry, then the wasteland before them. "Well, no time to look at the scenery." He said as he cracked his neck and set down the path of destruction. He pulled the hat down further, shielding his eyes from the sun which was still making its way into the sky, but also preventing him from seeing the countless bodies around him. He held his breath, the stench being god aweful as he made his way.

Albel looks at War, his eyes full of sympathy as hears his tale. In his mind, War was a person just like himself, someone who had lost it all. But yet Albel had the spirits of his deck to help him through the hard times, while War hadn't. A small tear forms in his eye. "War, I've felt what you felt on that day, not just once but many times throughout my life. Both my parents who I loved died when I was young, I was never loved at the orphanage where I grew up, and the one man who I felt understood me died mere hours after I met him. And yet, there's a difference between you and me. You probably don't know the answers to the four greatest questions of life, while I do. Your sadness and mine, they led us to different paths. You took the path of destruction, while mine took me on the path of enlightenment. If you want, I could show you the way...." His face now has a look that appears as though he can see right into War's soul.

War looked at Albel. He then shook his head, saying 'I'd like that.' He stood up and rose his blade towards the skies. It shot a beam of energy, which when it reached the red sky and clouds, it spreaded. The light shattered the thunder clouds and it cleared the blood stained colour in the sky. Then the spreaded energy reached the ground, where it cleared debris, healed wounds. It was if it was back to normal. War looked at them and said 'As a hoursman, I must duel you. However, that doesn't mean it must be a Shadow Duel. I give you my honour in that I shall retrn to the tomb of Apocalypse, thus eliminating all threats I put on this earth. War isn't a solution to anything, but duels will show eachother our true strengths!' War suddenly began to laugh in his usual mighty voice. 'Are you ready?'

The Helicopter Dex was in flew across China, looking for traces of Pestilence. They weren't hard to find. Whenever the Helicopter passed over a village, peasants could be seen in the streets, coughing up blood and falling dead where they stood. It got worse as Dex thought they got closer to where Pestilence was located. The affected citizens had their organs spewing out of their mouths, and vomit and blood lined the street of the villages. Dex himself could barely stop himself from vomiting in the Helicopter at the sight of it.
As the helicopter passed over a larger village, it became difficult to tell where Pestilence had gone. Most of the villagers were still alive, though that was changing as they coughed up their own blood. The Helicopter had begun to descend with the pilot having thought that this village hadn't yet been affected, but as the villagers tried to cling onto the landing rails of the helicopter, the pilot realized his mistake. They were desperate to get away, Dex could barely look. Dex knew there was nothing he would be able to do to save them now, but looking out the window he saw some prints on the ground. A horse had passed through here just recently. Tapping the Pilot on the shoulder, the Helicopter flew off, heading further East as a few fatally ill villagers clung onto the underside of the Helicopter, screaming before they died from the affects of Pestilence.

It was a few miles outside the village that Dex saw it. A cloud of dust coming from its feet as it rode Eastwards. It was the horsemen. The pilot had already seen it. He flew directly over the horsemen, but Pestilence seemed un-phased by it. Dex took off his waistcoat and wrapped it round his mouth and nose in a attempt to make sure he wouldn't be affected by the powers of Pestilence. The helicopter flew on ahead of Pestilence, before rotating slightly and descending. Dex stepped through the door onto the landing rails of the Helicopter as Pestilence came to a stop several meters away from the Helicopter.

"It's over Pestilence. This ends now!" Dex stared into pestilence's eyes. This is it Dex, you can do this...

'It isn't.' Pestilence replied as he lifted his hand. Suddenly the pilot fainted and began to rot. It was as if Pestilence infected him. 'Now it's your turn.' He lifted his hand...but suddenly Dexalas appeared, and created a barrier which protectedDex from Pestilence's attack. 'So, if this is how you wish to die, so be it!' He readied his duel disk. 'But you should know a Horsemen cannot be harmd by anything but another Horsemen, or in your case you Chosen Card. This means because Conquest isn't in your Deck, you hav no chance of victory!' Pestilence then thrusted his sword into the ground, generating a putrid green aura around them, seperating Dex fro the helicopter and the slowly dieing pilot. 'Ready yourself for your own demise!' Pestilence roared. 'You cannot win, no matter what you do!'

Dex frowned: "So I can only defeat him if I use Dexalas against him...." Dex stepped off the Helicopter onto the diseased ground as the pilot rotted.
"Dex, you can do this. Just remember me." Dex had forgotten Dexalas was there, but he took his words into account. "If need be, you may wait for Jace as well, but I believe in you. Let's do this!"
Dex raised his duel disk as Dexalas faded back into his deck. "Sorry Pestilence, but I'm not going down without a fight. Let's duel! Seeming as this is the end for you Pestilence, it's only respectful to allow you to go first. make your move!"

Jace's eyes looked around as he walked, stepping over bodies here and there. The stench was getting worse, signalling that he may be closing in on where Famine was. He looked back to Terry, just to make sure he was still coming with him. This was going to be an interesting duel, just because of the circumstances. He blinked a bit and looked forward, soon seeing a lone figure standing in the distance. "It's time..." He said to himself as the horseman came into clearer view. He readied his duel disk for the impending duel, knowing it wont be easy, but also knowing he should be ready for anything.
