The Twelve Gems (IC-Still Accepting!)

A great force of evil has risen up in the continent formerlly known as North America. It has spread across the country, capturing everything. It is said that a group of twelve will save the world. Of course, you wouldn't know that, you've been frozen since 2011! The year is now 3023. Your capsule opens up, and you stumble out stumble out. The only thing you don't remember is how you got there. There are thirteen of you, and infront of you are twelve gems. A young, spoiled looking girl steps forward and grabs two gems. She immediatelly disenegrates into a pile of ash. You are horrified by the power of the crystal. You look around. Each door has a color correponding with a crystal. You try one. It is locked. What crystal will you choose? You are cut down to a remaining 11 crystals whena boy steps forward and grabs the black crystal. That leaves you with 11 crystals, of the following color: Yellow, Blue, White, Brown, Orange, Red, Green, Light Purple, Dark Purple, Clear, and A gem spinning so fast it seems like an array of colors. You do not know what power they hold. What color will you pick?

Lukas Zeronas bursts out of his pod. Other pods open, but seven people are still sleeping. The other five standing around him are groggy, and confused. He notices some gems, and a girl steps forward, and grabs two. She explodes, turning inot ahses. Lukas shivers a bit, scared of the power. He grabs a gem, the black one, and feels great. The gem then enters his body, turning to some kind of energy. He feels an energy of darkness flowing through him, though it's not evil, just darkness. He thinks for a moment, trying to figure out what power he has gained. He urges his hand to produce a ball of shadow, and sure enough, a black ball hovers in his hand. He goes over to the door marked with a black gem, and places the orb in the slot next to the door. The door opens, and reveals a whole array of weapons. The door closes behind him, leaving him with choices. He steps forward, and grabs a shot-gun lookingweapon. He shoots it at a dummy set up, and a blast of small black balls shot at the dummy, going staright through it, and coming back to the gun.He grabs a sword, which has several buttons attached. He presses one, and the sword transfers to an axe. He grabs one more weapon, gaunlets.He clenches his fist, and claws generated of darkness forms around his hand. He slahes the dummy, and wills the shadow back into his hand. He punches the dummy, noticing that he punch is stronger than before. He walks out of the building, into another room, this time, with a door, which seems to need to be opened by at least five people. He feels a new surge through his body, and he hears a voice in his head. "Try creating a shadow beasts" He tries, and a boar like beast appears, but takes his shadow away. He urges it back, and hs shadow is back

[King of Nothing]

When Mal was out of the pod, the first thing he said was, "Goodnight." After looking around, he realized that something must have happened. He closed his eyes and began assessing the current situation. [i]I feel a bit strange, almost scared, with a slight preminition creeping up my veins. I feel slightly cold as well. Actually, I feel really cold. Am I freezing?[/i] Mal breathed, his breath showed. As he walked down he began to hear something almost calling him. [i][color=red]I can warm you, child. Just go closer. Feel my power. Become my power.[/i][/color] Mal reached towards the gem. As he tapped it, his fingers felt warm. The warmth continued as his body took a slight red hue. The gem went inside of his skin, his cold feeling being removed. He cleared his throat, trying to pick his words carefully. Before he could, though, he remembered something. A small gun in his shoe. He reached down towards his shoe, but realized the gun was gone.

He was slightly angered about the loss of his gun, so he decided now was a good time to speak. "I'm sorry to say this, but an item of mine has been stolen. Kindly return it." His voice demanded authority, but also seemed a bit held back. It was almost like a spark, waiting to ignite a forest fire.

Roxanne Just(Her last name.) wakes up, her words being, "DAVID! SAVE ME!" But she notices Gems. Roxanne contemplates her choices. But she sets her eyes on one in particular. The Weather Gem, spinning and sparkling. She slowly grabs it, and a rush of adrenaline and wind rushes through her veins. Her mouth feels wet, and her hair feels on lightning. She walks to her door, and opens it. She chooses the longsword quickly, and her clothing flashes. It turns into a Karate Gi and Hakama. "Sweet." She said, looking at a Dummy. From where she is standing, she shoves it into a dummy. From there, Roxanne does a spinning slash around, like a tornado. She then uses her Gem's power. A tornado flies from her hand, the first one engulfing the dummy, and slicing it inside. The second one flies inside the dummy, and it then pushes through, first through each shoulder, and then the body extends, into bursting.

A man, watching the subjects progress from another room, far from Lukas and his soon to be friends and enemies. He saw them grabbing crystals, then entering the body. He then turned to another screen, seeing the group with the weapons. "Hmmm. So it seems the threat to me is finally coming." He located the area, and said to one of his co-workers, "Hey, send five terror beasts to surround the area.

A computirized voice said "Relax. Your weapons will come soon. Use yor new power to get to the weapons room."

Dane wakes up and exits his pod. [i]Where am I?[/i] He sees some gems and other people taking some. He approaches the gems and he hears a voice calling for him. He approaches the white gem and grabs it. For a second it feels as if he is frozen in a block of ice but the sensation quickly goes away as the gem enters his body. [i]What was that feeling? I feel strange?[/i] He approaches a door and forms a ball of ice in his hand. [i]It doesn't feel cold![/i] He places the ice in a slot in the door. Suddenly the door becomes ice and shatters. He enters the room and can tell that its very cold although he can't feel it. Dane looks around and sees many varieties of weapons. He picks a pair of gloves that change into ice when he puts them on. Then he chooses a 2 floating knives also made of ice and a sword with many blades of ice. [i]Weird, I prefer I blade on a sword.[/i] Suddenly all the blades on the sword merged into 1 blade. He sends the knives and blades of his sword at a dummy. As they pierce the dummy they start freezing it. He went up to the dummy and punched it with his glove which added a thin layer of ice and shattered the dummy.

[King of Nothing]

Though some were clever, Mal didn't see much in the realm of fire opening doors, except for the blunt manner. He decided he'd go with that. The warmth around his body began to grow into feverish temperatures as heat radiated from the palm of his hand. "Here we go..." His palm outstrethed, Mal grasped his arm and felt the burning heat coming from it. He pushed his hand forward as heat radiated out, burning through a door. "I have no idea if this is my door or not, but it is now." The door was made of dry grass, and flames began to reach the grass. They didn't continue, however. The grass was wet, and that water had somehow managed to block out the flames. "Strange" was all Mal thought of to say.

He walked into the weapons room and instantly located his old gun. He span the gun around his fingers, and saw a knife as well. He put the knife against his heel in his shoe as he aimed the gun at one of the targets. He shot the bullet, which immediately exploded against the training dummy. He once more span the gun around his fingers before pocketing it. "I already know how to use the gun, I think I should work on the fireball now." He stared at his hand, [i]I just need to figure out what to do first.[/i]

A voice rang in Mal's head. [i][color=red]Allow me to be your guide, Mal. I am the fire that burns within you, the passion of your soul that has created our bond. I chose you to be my carrier, now choose me to be your mentor. Fuel me, Mal, and allow me to burn those before you.[/i][/color] Mal stood, puzzled at what he was thinking. The voice in his head wasn't his, but it only made sense to listen to it. He had no idea what he was doing, the first shot was a fluke. So, once more, Mal's body grew into a feverish temperature. His eyes honed in on the training dummy. He pointed the palm of his hand to the dummy. [color=red][i]Burn![/i][/color] He closed his fist as the temperature around the dummy began to increase greatly. Finally he opened his palm, and the temperature became normal. [i]It didn't catch fire.[/i] Mal stared blankly. [i][color=red]This training dummy isn't made of dry grass, like the door. I assure you that your abilities are quite strong either way, and hopefully they will get stronger. For now, concentrate on the fire within.[/i][/color]

Cain lunged out of his pod, swearing loudly. He growled, glaring around the room. "I'M GONNA KILL THEM!" he roared. He raved and ranted a bit more, some details of the exact method of death, something about glass shards, inverted, horse flies and bleeding to death. He grit his teeth and stalked towards the gems. He recalled one girl dying from taking multiple gems during his rant, so he dismissed thoughts selling for a profit and snagged the closest one. He jerked as it sunk into his flesh. Swearing some more, he kicked the table. Damn it all. One of the doors had the same purple gem that he did, had, so he took his anger out on it, kicking it and punching it. He spat on it in frustration.

After sizzling at bit where the spit hit it, the door opened. Revealing a room with... stuff. Curious, he explored a bit. Pocketing some knifes, a dozen or so of those ball things, a computery padd-game like thing, and a pair of gloves.Playing around with the handheld, a collar buzzed. He fiddled around more, and the collar hummed. He shrugged and put it on. The balls hummed to and suddenly floated around him. He could see out of their lenses, hear what they heard. Oh, this would be fun.

After Dane was sure of how to use his weapons he decided he was ready to move on. He approached the door which he noticed had no doorknob and was made of a weird substance. "I guess I'll try the same thing" He formed a small ice ball in his hand and pushed it against the door. It merged into the door. The door became ice for a second and Dane was sure it was going to crack but it didn't and the door reverted to its original state.

An icy voice echoed in Dane's head.[color="#00FFFF"][i]You must learn to control my powers better, Dane. I chose you so you had better not let me down. I will help you but you must become one with the ice.[/i][/color][i]Become one with the ice?[/i] Dane wondered what that meant. [color="#00FFFF"][i]Concentrate! Feel the cold around you.[/i][/color] Dane started to concentrate and tried to feel the cold surrounding him. Suddenly the temperature dropped. [color="#00FFFF"][i]That is the key to my powers, Dane.[/i][/color] Dane created another ice ball in his hand but this time it was larger and colder than before. He pressed it into the door and the door turned to ice and shattered. He took a step through the door.

Luke was messing around with his new powers, training his Shadow ball's accuracy and the Beasts Evasiveness by creating beast, then firing shadowballs at them. He had figured out how to curve the shadow ball, and that created a new challenge for his shadow-like wolf. The beast dodged it, but it curved back around, and hit from behind. Luke smirked saying,"hey, good job, take a rest." He looked around the room, and found multiple dormant beast. "Hmm, interesting." Suddenlly, the Ice Seprent in the corner woke up, and a door shattered. Out stepped another person, and the Serpent slithered over to it. "Hello. It seems that beast Likes you. Let me guess, you grabbed the white crystal?"

It was strange waking up after all this time. Even as the pod Sam was in opened, and she awakened, she still couldn't tell wheter it was a dream or reality. She was confused as to where she was, but even so she sat up. Just in time to see some girl turn into dust. Now she knew she was dreaming. There is no way a person could simply disintigrate like that. There were questions flying throug her head a mile a minute. Where was she? Who brought her here? What year was it? Last she remembered it was 2011. She remembered being in the skatepark and then....Nothing. Waking up in this place was her next memory after that. Not only was she in a strange room in a pod to made for human preservation, but there were colored gems suspended in midair.

During her observatons a gem suddenly caught her eye. More specifically the green one. The secnd her eyes landed on it there was a strong urge to take it. And she followed her instins. Without thinking she got out of the pod and walked over, grabbing it from the air. She watched in both fear and awe as the gem sunk into the palm of her left hand. It was an instant feeling of serenity an calmness that washed overher body. Almost as if the earth itself was giving her protection. It's hard to explain. It's one of those eelings that you couldn't get unless you experience it for yourself.

Sam looked around and noticed people walking through the doors. Even the doors had a color gem on them. She glanced at each door until she spotted the one with the green gem on it. "I suppoe that door is mine..." Sam mumbled to hersef, shoving her hands int her pockets and walking over. She reached out to open it but.....There was no door knob. She tried pushing it but even that didn't work. What was she supposed to do? "Maybe the gem is the key. To bad it sunk into my flesh." She sighed puzzled by the puzzle befre her. She tried focusing on finding the gem inside of her and somehow maybe materializing it or something. Instead something else happened.

Her hands began glowing a faint green color and a greenis cloud of smoke formed in both hands. She heard a the rustle of wind and as she pered even closer she saw leaves in erect position flying all about int the smoke. This phenomenon confused her greatly which aused her to simply stand there for a bit. A few secondslater she got an idea. Sam stretched her arms out until they hr inches from the door. The cloud of smoke and leaves blew around her then engulfed the door. The laves and smoke was obsorbed by the door. There was a light "click" and the gem on the door glowed before opening. "Well that was..Strange..."

When Dane had walked through the door he found a room that was filled with beasts that seemed to be sleeping. A serpent had woken up and slithered toward him and Dane could tell that all the beasts held special powers. He had also noticed someone else in the room. It seemed that person had powers over the shadows and was practicing with a shadow ball and he also had a strange beast that looked like a wolf. He felt a tug at his foot and remembered the serpent. When he looked closely he noticed that the serpents scales were made of ice. He reverted his attention towards the other person in the room. "Hi, I'm Dane. Do you know what were supposed to do here?"

Lukas listened to what the new boy had to say. "Well, what I did was I used my power in one of those slots in the door. It looks like there are four more. Use your power into the holder. Oh, and by the way, my name's Lukas. You can call me Luke for short. Ithink that is my name. I don't remember much about my life before this. I wonder who did this. Anyways, I've been practicing in here, and I have gotten prettty good. Do you want to have a friendly duel? Al you have to do is urge the gem to tone down its power. What do you think?" Lukas said, charging up his shadow ball, in case he wanted to duel.

After walking through the door Sam entered a room that seemes darker than any darkness she had ever encountered. She couldn't see anything around her and considered turning back, but looking behind her the door had already closed. How it closed without a sound she didn't know, but the next thing she heard was,

"Pick your weapon."

Suddenly the dark rom was flooded with light, and it took some time for her eyes to adjust. When they finally did she noticed, "This is a weapons room..." Sam looked at all the different styles of weapons. Guns, swords, staffs and way too many things to count. As she continued to search for her weapon two circular weapons hangin from a wall caught her interest. The blades themselves was a earthy green color, and the handle being a bright blue, almost lik the ocean. There ere designes going all around the handles. The weapon interested Sam so she grabed them. It felt right in her hands and she smiled. "Looks like my weapon of choice is a chakrum." After another glance around none of the other weapons caught her interest, so she finally left - the door having opened itself back up- and joined the rest of the kids who had alread went throug the weapon selection process.

"Yeah sure lets fight! There's nothing else to do right now. Anyway your story sounds a lot like mine" Dane replied. He was new to his powers but he never turned down a fight. [i]Urge the gems powers down[/i] He thought as he concentrated. He then formed an ice ball in his hand. [i]I should use a long ranged attack since I don't know his powers yet. But he's been practicing in here for a while[/i] "Here goes! Let's have a fun battle." He threw the ice ball with a lot of strength at Lukas.

When the ball of ice was thrown at Lukas, he simply side stepped. "Come on, you'll have to do better than that to beat me. I know you are stronger than that! I know it. I think we were chosen for this. But why me? I am an 11 year old boy!" He toned down his attacks, and hopped on his wolf. In his mind, he thought to him. Remember our first trainging exercise, right? Good. Let's go." He rode straight towards Dane, and Shadowolf fangs started to glow a ghastly shade of purple, and he went to bite Dane, though it wouldn't hurt Dane that much. Lukas waited, to see what he would do, as he continued charging up his attack. He loved this strategy.

Dane had known using an ice ball would never have worked but he had waited for the next move. "I'll show you how I do things!" He rode his ice serpent. Dane thought to the serpent [i]I know we don't know each other or have experience together but please help me win this fight. We'll work as a team![/i] He advanced toward Lukas. The shadow beast's fangs were approaching quickly but the serpent was agile and avoided the shadow beast. The ice serpent turned around and went into charge again and his fangs glistened with white energy. "I felt a new power as I had came in here now is the time to use it!" He concentrated on the spot where Luke was. Suddenly he had created a small blizzard and it had started advancing toward Luke. As the blizzard reached him Dane also closed in with his ice serpent.

"Oh, but you're not the only one with a new ability. I love this one." He threw his arms up, and all that could be seen was a huge cloud of blizzard. When the blizzard started to clear, all that was seen was Lukas, standing, with his arms still up. He dropped his arms, and fired a ball of shadow ball at him. "I bet you wish you knew my new ability." After that, he fired a barrage of tiny balls of shadow at Dane. He hopped onto Shadowolf, and charged at the serpent. At the last moment, he jumped off of Shadowolf. He landed behind the serpent, and fired a shadowball at Dane. Shadowolf then pounced at Dane also, and he was bound to be hit by the attack.

Dane had been surprised by Luke's new ability, but his tactics hadn't surprised him. "I've been in hundreds of fights before don't think you're the first to try something like this!" Even though he had been in situations like this, the enemy never had special powers or a Shadowolf but he had never had powers either. Dane created a blizzard surrounding him to protect him from the shadow balls. Before the blizzard Dane had jumped out at Luke knocking them both of the Ice Serpent. Dane shot his own barrage of ice balls at Luke while his Ice Serpent was fighting the Shadowolf. Everything had happened in just a few seconds. Without waiting for his barrage of ice balls to hit Luke he turned his attention to the Shadowolf. He ran up his serpents back and jumped at the Shadowolf. He landed a punch on its back and created a small coating of ice on the Shadowolf with his battle gloves.

"I didn't want to have to use these, but.." He took out his gaunlets, and clenched his fist. He started slashing at all of the Ice balls, and, they fell to the ground. He charged towards the Ice Serpent, and stabbed it in the back. It withered to the ground, and dissapeared, into a small sphere, and inside, there were little blizzards blowing around. The same happened to Shadowolf, but instead, there were wisps of shadows. "Don't worry, once they heal up, they'll come back out once they're healed. Inside there, nothing can harm them." He fired shadow balls far to the sides of Dane, and charged for Dane, his claws growing a little larger. Then, Lukas heard a voice. [color="#9932cc"]"Let me take control." [/color][color="#000000"]"Did you here that?" He continued charging, his claws straight out.[/color]

"Hear what?" Dane replied. He didn't wait for a response he sent his own ice balls in all directions around him to intercept the shadow balls as he charged towards Luke with fists full of power. [i]I have to avoid those claws[/i] He thought to himself. Dane summoned a blizzard in between them to obscure Luke's vision and leaped into the air launching a barrage of ice balls at Luke hoping to catch him by surprise. As he descended at Luke he threw a punch with all his strength.

"I heard a voice, but never mind." He looked around, and deciding to get a better veiw, stepped back a few paces, and looked up. Then, he saw Dane flying at him. " Now, you get to find out my second ability!" He threw up his arms again, and Dane fell straight onto a wall of shadow. He sliced the ice balls, and jumped up, and stabbed Dane through the wall. He dropped back down, and saluted, saying "Good duel. I think another attack would hurt you even more." He turned around, and saw a girl. "Hey, what's your name." He took off his gaunlets, and walked towards her. "My name is Lukas. Do you have any idea how we got here?"

Sam had returned to the room where the others currently were with the intentions of seeing how much did the other people know. However, when she came two of them seemed to be engaged in some type of battle. One boy using shadows. Or so it seemed, and the other using ice abilities. While she knew that she shouldn't have been surprised that the others had powers like her, she couldn't help but be astounded. What was going on, and why were they here? Were they chosen for this? Did they voulenteer or were they simply taken? Sam still didn't know what year they were in or if the were even on earth still. [I]What do I do? This is all too crazy[/I]
