New cards look cool.

Grim Reaper exists...

True - I'm glad that we're getting more trigger configuration options. So we can call FINAL TURN when our opponent has 10 cards in their hand and activating PBD is the last thing we should do that turn

At CC center table if anyone wants to help me test my new not competitive imo deck. Or help me test some revised/remade stuff. plus I haven't fought in a while.

1 sec im on now

@Haou if your opponent has 10 grade and can't stop your win even with PBD being last attack there is something wrong there >.>. or they have a really craptastic hand

Every card in Vanguard is a unit or monster in yugioh terms.

Anyways:
Card overview:

Grade: This is pretty much the level of the unit. You cannot play units higher than your Vanguard(which represents you) unless done by an ability known as Superior Call. In Which Spike brothers and Pale Moon clans specialize in but from different places. Spike bros from deck and Pale moon from the soul.

Power: This basically your ATK and DEF. When attack if your power is equal to or higher than the unit you are attacking it will cause 1 of 2 things base on who you attack:

If you are attacking the opponent Vanguard: they either guard to stop your attack or they let it go through and they take damage
If you are attacking an opponent's rearguard unit(can only attack front row RG unless you have skill that says otherwise)" they either guard as before to make their pionts higher or they let the unit go to the drop zone(graveyard)

Shield:
This guard value of a card when you use it to protect another on of your cards. However, you can only guard from hand with Grade 0-1 units, but Guard 2 units can intercept to protect unit X. In which case there are unit that have skill known as Special Intercept were instead of guarding for 5k they guard for 10k.
Grade 3 units however cannot guard because they have no shield pionts at all, but there are Special Grade 1 units known as prefect shields that have no shield pionts. BUT instead you discard a card of the same clan to protect a unit of same clan from battle that turn. Turning your dead grade 3s into a shield.

Clan:
This is basically the similar to type BUT plays a bigger role than in Yu-gi-oh. The Clan is how units are grouped together that allow them to work together. Most units only have skills that activate while you have a Vanguard of the same clan. Which is why hybrid decks are not as common without taking into account what units to use with that don't conflict with each other if you have a Vanguard of a different clan.
Another thing you need to watch is the triggers. If you do not have a Vanguard or Rearguard of the same clan of the trigger you pulled you do not get its effect, which is again why when constructing a mix-clan deck to that into account what clan your triggers are to make sure you have at least 1 unit of that clan.

I think that covers some basics if anyone wants to add on feel free to. Or if need ask any other questions

I think there's something wrong there, cause I've guarded with 2's from the hand against you before, and the only thing said in the rules in terms of guarding restrictions is that your Guardians can't be a higher grade than your Vanguard.

Oh I'm referring to this last episode where that's exactly what Aichi did - seems he'd been fine if he had not called Final Turn!

Oh yeah you can guard with grade 2's from the hand as long as you have a Grade 2 or higher vanguard.

- I don't know how many on here are on VanGods or Vanguard Rider or even the Eng. blog - but I've recently been working with 3 stores here in central NC to begin selling Cardfight!! Vanguard. All Fun and Games in Apex, NC got in a shipment of a couple of boxes of English Trial Decks and Set 1 Booster and sold out in 6 days. I've got 2 other stores that will be making orders soon.

For now you can still shop at Hammergirl anime online here on the east coast.

im guessing the rules are a little different from the show cause in the show it said you can promote your vanguard with a card no higher than 1 grade level above your vanguards grade level in the tcg of vanguard you cant play anything higher than the vanguards grade level [please correct me if im wrong]

I think you're confusing Riding with guarding. When you ride, you place a card atop your current Vanguard with a grade equal to or higher than it's grade to promote it. When guarding, you cannot defend with a card from your hand that is a higher grade than your current Vanguard.

The anime pretty much follows the rules to the letter.

Do you know of a place that sells singles? I really don't want to buy a box and get cards that I won't use and in my area can't be trade material.
[/quote]

Do a search for Hobby Store Shockwave Online! - I can vouch for them being a great source for singles! Also Altair-Vega is very dependable for singles if you know him from any of the sites.

I think I found my answer to the ott soul charging problem with white rabbit of inaba.
by having that as well as pychic bird and red eye, I think the chances for the draw become signifigant enough.
also, that bind effect on the new grade 3, is so evil. trying to think of a way to make a divination deck paired with her so I can bind 2 cards and check my top deck at the same time.

I've been fine without Rabbit, rarely missing. The only thing I'm thinking of for my OTTs is dropping a CEO to up Red Eye, and if I should drop a couple Draw triggers for Critical. That deck idea is exactly what I thought when I saw it. =D

lol Grade 4.
