[Finished]FINISHED! Ritual Contest

Recommended Posts

Ok I try to end my previous contest on mondays and then start my new contest on the same day. Hopefully starting a new contest on Wednesday is not a problem, been a busy week so far.

Rules
1: All general YCM rules apply.
2: Serious card submissions.
3: Written cards accepted. Images and written cards are judged the same.
4: I prefer cards PMed to me rather then posted here. When contest ends I will post all entries.
5: 3 qualities I score based upon- creativity, balance, and playability.

Entry Fee = 1 point.

Prizes
1st: 20 points + 2 reps.
2nd: 10 point + 1 reps.
3rd: 5 points.

Deadline = Monday May 30th.

Task
Pretty simple. Make me a ritual monster with a ritual spell card. You are allowed to send up 2 extra support cards to go with the ritual cards.

Requirements
1: Must be a realistic ritual spell card, not an anime-ish one. This means a specific monster cannot be named as what must be tributed. Also no extra requirements to summon like paying life points.
2: The ritual spell card must be a "You must also Tribute monsters whose total Levels equal X or more from the field or your hand." and NOT a "You must also Tribute monsters whose total Levels equal exactly 6 from the field or your hand." type of ritual spell card. I'm interested in rituals not synchros.
3: Not required but I would highly suggest adding a second effect to the ritual spell card such the ones found on 'Ritual of Grace', 'Ritual of Destruction', 'Dawn of the Herald', or 'Gishiki Ceremonial Mirror'.

GOOD LUCK!

Tell me VoC, what Ritual Monsters do you own?
I own a lot of them, I have taken to collecting them even if I don't use it. My main deck currently runs 2 Shinato, King of a Higher Plane. This (and the other few ritual support card) leads people to call my main deck a ritual deck but i don't consider it that, just rituals splashed into a beatdown deck. That deck has been used for over 5 years and through out that time the deck has used Relinquished, The Masked Beast, Dark Master - Zorc, Reshef the Dark Being, and Divine Grace - Northwemko at different times of its life.

Despite being a big fan of rituals I have never liked Demise, King of Armageddon or Advance Ritual Art (except maybe in a Skull Servent deck). These popular meta cards really seem to give people the wrong idea about ritual monsters are really about.

Oh also as far as new support goes. I love the new Djinn of Rituals, I use 1 Presider and 1 Releaser. But I do hate how people forget that they effect still works when tributed from the hand and field making them think a ritual deck needs a ton of Armageddon Knight and Foolish Burial. I don't really like the Gishiki with the exception of Gishiki Chain because they are so archtype-centric and not very splashable in other ritual decks.

Ooo!!! I have Reshef and Relinquished as well!!! Haha. I also have Demise, but never use him, and I did have the Queen version, but traded it. Lets see...I also have Black Luster Soldier, Paladin of White Dragon, Crab Turtle, Elemental Mistress Doriado, and Performance of Sword. Missing the spells needed to summon some of those though, lol.

Point sent. People who say "Points" have to learn English.
Most contests do require a plural number of 'points' to be sent so it is just habit for people to add the 's' on because they are used to it.

If you wish I could raise the entry fee to 2 points in order to correct grammar LOL jk

Judging time!
Lore: This monster can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Neutron Release". Once per turn, you can banish 1 monster Tributed to Ritual Summon this monster from your Graveyard to increase this card's ATK by the same ATK as the banished monster. This card also gains the same effect as the banished monster until the End Phase. You can discard this card from your hand to send 1 "Neutron Release" from your deck to the Graveyard.

Lore: This card is used to Ritual Summon "Descended Neutron Guardian". You must also Tribute monsters from the field or your hand whose total Levels equal 8 or more. If this card and "Descended Neutron Guardian" are in your Graveyard, you can banish monsters from your Graveyard whose total levels equal 8 or higher to return this card and "Descended Neutron Guardian" to your hand.
The ritual card effect is niffty. The Phantom of Chaos/Tyrant Neptune effect is cool but my problem is he starts with 2750 ATK already. If you tribute from your hand something like Obelisk then you have 6750 ATK monster that can't even be targeted by effects. All this could possibly happen as early as turn 1.
Archlord Dusk

Fairy/Light/Level 8

This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Setting Sun Mirage". Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from your hand to inflict 1500 damage to your opponent.

2800/2200

Setting Sun Mirage

Ritual

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Archlord Dusk". You must also Tribute monsters whose total Levels equal 8 or more from the field or your hand. When "Archlord Dusk" is Ritual Summoned by this card's effect, you can remove from play this card in your Graveyard to select 2 level 3 or lower Fairy-type monsters from your Graveyard and your Deck and add them to your hand.
Discarding a card for massive burn is fun, I do enjoy a LIGHT-attribute burn deck oppose to the typical FIRE. Although with such a powerful burn effect I feel like the ATK should be slightly lower. Now the ritual card confues me. Is it 1 from the grave and 1 from the deck? 2 from the grave and 2 from the deck? 2 from ether location? I understand that it imitates Dawn of Herald effect but 2 monsters seem like a lot to recover. Then again level 3 or lower fairies does restrict it. Ether way though, from the deck would be a big effect.
Lore:
This card is used to Ritual Summon "Illusion Knight". You must also Tribute monsters from the Field or your Hand whose total Levels equal 7 or more. Your opponent cannot activate or Flip Summon set Spell, Trap, or Monster Cards until your second Stand-By Phase after this cards activation.

Lore:
This monster can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Illusory Ritual". You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 7 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand. For as long as this card remains in play, it may swap ATK/DEF values with any other monster on the Field at anytime during the duel. If this card is targeted by the effects of a Monster, Spell, or Trap card you may Banish 1 "Illusory Ritual" from your Graveyard to negate the activation of that card and destroy it.
The ritual card having the Wicked Avatar's stun effect is powerful but it is only for set cards. Being able is to switch the ATK/DEF of ANYTHING at ANY TIME is a little ridiculous. But I do like the negation ability.
This monster can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Dark Temple Ritual". Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 monster from your Graveyard. Until the End Phase of this turn, this monster is treated as the removed monster and change this monster's level to the level of the removed card. If you do, this card gains 700 ATK until the End Phase of your opponent's next turn.

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Dark Temple Dweller". You must also Tribute monsters whose total Levels equal 5 or more from the field or your hand. If "Dark Temple Dweller" is used for a Synchro Summon while this card is in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower DARK monster from your Graveyard.
Now this is quite interesting making a ritual tuner. Being able to copy exclusive tuners is helpful too. Although I think the ATK boost is unnecessary. It doesn't need to be a versatile tuner and a cheep beatstick at the same time. Also the ritual card can revival a level 4 or lower Dark monster is useful. Flavorful and pretty balanced.
This monster can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Gates of Gloom". You must also Tribute and remove from play monsters whose total Level Stars equal 8 or more from the field, hand or Graveyard. When this card is summoned, you can select 1 card on the field and return it to the top of its owner's deck. When this monster destroys a monster and sends it to the Graveyard as result of battle, you can select 1 removed from play monster and Special Summon it. While this card remains face-up, any card your opponent controls sent to the Graveyard is removed from play instead.

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Devil of the Malevolent Order". You must also Tribute and remove from play monsters whose total Level Stars equal 8 or more from the field, hand, or Graveyard. When this card is send ot the Graveyard after activation, you can select 1 monster in your Graveyard and remove it from play.
So all of your tributes get banished but you can also use your graveyard. You can also banish an addition monster from your grave. Then you can top-deck bounce a card. Then when you destroy a monster you can special summon any banished monster. Also a Macro Cosmos effect. Oh yeah 3100 ATK/DEF as well. Seriously? I know rituals are under-rated and no one (except me) likes them but this is WAY WAY TOO OVERPOWERED!
Jizen Ritual - Cooling
Ritual Spell
This card is used to Ritual Summon "Frost-Stone Jizen". You must also Tribute monsters from your side of the field or hand OR banish monsters from your Graveyard whose levels equal 8 or more. Once per turn, while this card is in your Graveyard, if a "Jizen" non-Ritual Monster you control would be destroyed by battle it is not destroyed.

Frost-Stone Jizen
WATER/*8/Rock/Ritual/Effect
This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Jizen Ritual - Cooling". When this card is Ritual Summoned, banish up to 2 cards on the field. If this card is banished, add up to 2 banished cards that you own to your hand.
2500/2200

Pearl Jizen
WATER/*4/Rock/Effect
When this card is Summoned, add 1 "Jizen" card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. While this card is in the Graveyard, you can treat this card's level as 8 for the Ritual Summon of a WATER "Jizen" Ritual monster.
1600/1400
I like that the support monster is treated as level 8 for the ritual summon, pretty cool. I am not a big fan of everyone simply cheating a Ritual summon by banishing monsters, that is what the Djinns are for. Also the once per turn is not destroyed is cheep. Just flood your graveyard with 3 of the ritual spell card and you instantly have Shield Wings on the field.
Trivial Decision
Ritual Spell

This card is used to Ritual Summon ‘Kluk, Untrustworthy Assassin’. You must tribute monsters whose level equals 7 or more. When ‘Kluk, Untrustworthy Assassin’ uses it’s effect while this card is in the graveyard you can remove this card from play to negate it’s effect until the next Phase. You can discard this card from your hand to add ‘Kluk, Untrustworthy Assassin’ from your Deck to your Hand.

Kluk, Untrustworthy Assassin
Level 7
Ritual Monster
Atk 2000
Def 1800

Ritual Summon this card with ‘Trivial Decision’. Once During each of your Phases you must pay 500 Life Points to flip a coin. If the result is heads you can destroy 1 card that is on the field. If the result is tails you lose 500 more Life Points. When this monster is destroyed in battle you can pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon this monster back to the field and reduce the monster that destroyed this card’s Atk and Def by 700.
I hope the ritual spell lets you tribute monsters from your hand. And every phase!!! That is insane! I try to not be a stiff with grammar but there are a lot of errors that makes it hard to understand.
LORE: This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Dwarven War Runes". This card gains 100 ATK for every monster on your side of the field with "Dwarf" in it's name. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. If this card attacks, skip your next Battle Phase.

LORE: This card is used to Ritual Summon "Dwarven God, Grimni". You must also Tribute monsters whose total Levels equal 8 or more from the field or your hand.
No extra ritual spell effect. Not sure how many custom Dwarf cards there are to power this up. Plus Ancient Gear effect. But you totally did not need to throw in the skip the battle phase part. One of the few entries that doesn't feel over-powered but you definitely could have done just a tad bit more with it.

I enjoy seeing a level 10 ritual monster. Also it has no cheep summoning cheat. But wow it really hates synchro monsters which seems a bit unnecessary but then that would be saying the entire "Meklord" archtype is unnecessary. Oh yeah I also that all that massive power has a price that must be paid to attack. Very balanced.
LORE:This card can be summoned without a Ritual Spell card. You can tribute this card to summon a WATER monster from your hand or graveyard.
Ok if you don't need a ritual card then what is the point of having a blue frame? Just so it can be searched for by Manju and then be equipped with Ritual weapon. While having no ritual spell card might work for a certain ritual I really feel this is not the case.
1: KrspaceT1
2: Dwarven King
3: Daft Punk
I will be returning to Retrain That Vanillia now but be on the look-out for other wachy side contests from me in the future.
