slyphsoul
everything is fine for me but targeted for an attack doesnt make sense. 'cause they use "select" to make an effect choose a card (select one monster your opponent controls.. ect) and attack target is the selected card for the attack. "Selected as an attack target" makes more sense i think.By the way which one is true? "Select one monster your opponent controls" or "Select an opponent monster" or "Select an opposing monster"

The Deity Quetzalcoatl
Lulz. I love how everyone is defending his or her opinion like it's fact. Well I don't necessarily have a problem with the new OCG. I mean it makes perfect sense it just doesn't feel right. I think I can deal with it though. I realize some people will get used to it faster than others. Heck, some people probably won't get used to it at all. Either way it's said and done. Nothing more to do about it except warm up to the new terminology.

Wave_Sine
Well, this might just make my created card 4-Dimensional Space more manageable! Old OCG: "If this card would be destroyed or removed from the field due to the effect of a card, you can remove one card in your hand and one card you control from play to negate the effect of the card and destroy it. Each player can control up to 10 Monster Cards and Spell or Trap Cards. If this card is removed from the field, each player destroys cards they control until they control 5 or less Monster Cards and 5 or less Spell or Trap Cards." New OCG: "If this card would be destroyed or leave the field due to the effect of a card, you can banish one card in your hand and one card you control to negate the effect of the card and destroy it. Each player can control up to 10 Monster Cards and Spell or Trap Cards. If this card leaves the field, each player destroys cards they control until they control 5 or less Monster Cards and 5 or less Spell or Trap Cards." Wait. That kind of helps. Well, excuse to 'fix' my Out of this Dimension cards and re-post them to fish for comments...
Sweetie Belle
I got the new Xyz deck that came out, and I noticed on the cards, many instances where a comma would have been, a colon was instead. Before the colon was the requirement for an effect to activate, and then the effect. Costs & targeting also got a change. Instead of a comma, they have a semicolon afterwards instead. Examples: Number 39: Utopia "When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the attack." Mirror Force "When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls." The Warrior Returning Alive "Target 1 Warrior-Type monster in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand." Xyz Energy "Detach 1 Xyz Material you control to target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; destroy that target." Also, instead of "Either player," it's "Any player." Brendano Harns
"Banish" - It sounds stupid, and I don't really care if it rolls off the tongue easier. If you can't remember a sentence halfway through, you have some problems you have to work out anyways. The old OCG for this made the concept self explanatory. "Removed from play" meant the card was removed from play. But hey, whatever. As long as "the new text is less confusing." "Leaves the Field" - If the only problem it had was being confused with "Removed from play," what's the point of changing it now that it is "banish" instead? It could be argued that it makes it easier to understand, but then what about "banish"? "Piercing Damage" - For making the text easier to understand, this one is one of the most counterproductive. The old way may have been wordy, but it spelled it out for you. I do like this way better though. I just feel bad for newcomers who have to learn confusing terminology. "Targeted for an attack" - This is by far the dumbest change of all. There is very little change, ruling out the "less wordy" benefit. It is practically the same, ruling out the "easier to understand" benefit. Just what exactly was this supposed to accomplish? "HERO" - This should have been done first. Not as in changed a long time ago, but the cards should have been printed like this the first time around. Now we get to confuse those who use HERO monsters by changing the game, and what about the old prints? Just saw some people dropping their opinions off, so I thought I'd drop mine, too. Not that anyone has to care, but I just felt like I should say something...

Nu-Mou Knight
Banish, I can understand. Anybody who's played the card game in a reasonable capacity should understand Piercing, though rewording the effects of cards similar to Thousand Needles could present some trouble. The others are just wastes (especially the HEROs thing), and the colon/semi-colon thing is just...unnecessary. Did people seriously contact Konami and say "We can't understand clear sentences"?
