Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Graduation Day Pt.1

[The Oncoming Storm]

I haven't gotten very far on my Shroud of Destiny fan fic yet (at the moment i'm suffering from writer's block), but here's a random one. The two main characters are students at Duelist Academy. Both are in Obelisk Blue. Their names:

 

Chris Jackson, Age 18

 

Jeremy McPherson, Age 18 1/2

 

Here it is:

 

Chris Jackson was walking towards the main building at the Duelist Academy. Their graduation duels were being held there and he wanted to get started.

 

When he got there, Dr. Crowler had just began to announce the students who would duel first. He was matched with his friend and fellow Obelisk Blue, Jeremy McPherson.

 

"So i guess we're dueling each other, huh Chris?" Jeremy asked them when the prepared.

 

"Yup. Now lets duel!" Chris said to his pal. He knew his friend's deck was a tough one, which gave him all the more motivation to win.

 

Chris: 5000 LP

Jeremy: 5000 LP

 

"Guess i'll go first." Jeremy told Chris. "And i'll summon Mine Golem(EARTH/Level 3/Rock-type/ATK 1000/DEF 1900 When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard as a result of battle, inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent's life points) in Defense mode." A sand colored stone behemoth rose from the ground and crouched in front of Jeremy. "And i'll also play a card face down to end my turn." He placed a card in the spell and trap card zone, and a giant hologram of it appeared in front of him. "Your move."

 

Chris's turn:

 

"Well, then," murmured Chris. "I summon Warrior of Zera(EARTH/Level 4/Warrior-type/ATK 1600/DEF 1600) in attack mode." A strong looking swordsman clad in green rose up from the ground, grunted, and appeared in a fighter's stance. "And i'll equip him with Sword of Dragon's Soul (This card can only be equipped to a Warrior-Type monster. A monster equipped with this card increases its ATK by 700 points. A Dragon-Type Monster that battles with the monster equipped with this card is destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase. (Damage Calculation is applied normally.)), raising his attack power to 2300!" The warrior's sword vanished, and was replaced with a silver steel sword with points protruding from the end of it. "But i won't attack just yet. I'll play two face-downs to end my turn." Holograms of the cards he set in his spell and traps zone appeared on the field. "Your move, Jeremy."

 

Jeremy's Turn:

 

"OK, here goes." Jeremy said to himself. "I'll summon another Mine Golem in Defense mode," and another stone behemoth crouched in front of Jeremy, "and now i'll activate my face-down spell card, Infeno Reckless Summon!(You can only activate this card when 1 monster with an ATK of 1500 points or less is Special Summoned to your side of the field while there is a face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field. Special Summon all cards with the same name as the Summoned monster from your hand, Deck, and Graveyard in face-up Attack Position. Your opponent selects 1 monster on their side of the field and Special Summons all cards with the same name from their hand, Deck, and Graveyard.) It allows me to summon my third Mine Golem!" His third Golem crouched in front of him. "Unfortunatly, it lets you do the same."

 

"But i only have one Warrior of Zera in my deck." growled Chris.

 

"Then i'll end my turn by placing this card face-down." Jeremy said, and he placed a card in the Spell/Trap card zone.

 

Chris's Turn:

 

He may have the edge on me now, but i'll come back. Chris thought to himself. "I'll set a monster in defense mode and play one other card face-down." A hologram of a face-down monster card appeared next to the Warrior of Zera, and a hologram of a set card appeared next to Chris's tow other cards in the spell and trap zone. "That'll do it for me."

 

Jeremy's turn:

 

"Your in for it now, Chris!" Jeremy shouted. "I activate my face-own card, Minefield Eruption!(Inflict 1000 points of damage to your opponent’s Life Points for each face-up "Mine Golem" on your side of the field. After that, destroy all face-up "Mine Golem"(s) on your side of the field.). Now for every Mine Golem on my side of the field, you lose 1000 life points!"

 

"I don't think so!" shouted Chris. "I activate one of my face-downs, Trap Jammer,(You can only activate this card when your opponent activates a Trap Card during the Battle Phase. Negate the activation of the Trap Card & destroy it.)which negates your Minefield Eruption card and destroys it!"

 

"Oh, crap!" swore Chris. "And since i had already activated the card before you destroyed it, all my Mine Golems are destroyed!" he added as his Golems expolded into holographic shards of stone."You got lucky this time, Chris, but it just gets tougher from here, ol' pal! I'll end my turn by playing a card face-down." A hologram of the card appeared in the spell/trap zone. "Your turn."

 

Chris's turn:

 

"First, i'll draw." He drew his card, smirked, and added it to his hand. "Then i'll summon Dark Lucius LV4(EARTH/Level 4/Fiend-type/ATK 1000/DEF 300 The effects of your opponent's monsters that this card destroys by battle are negated. During your next Standby Phase after this card destroys a monster by battle, by sending this card to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 "Dark Lucius LV6" from your hand or Deck.) in attack mode." A warrior in gray scaly armor rose from the ground, gave a fiendish laugh, and took place next to Warrior of Zera. "Next, i'll attack you directly with Warrior of Zera! Attack with Dragon Sword Slash!" The swordsman ran at full speed towards Jeremy, then lept up in the air and raised his sword, ready to cut down on Jeremy's life points.

 

"Oh, i'm afraid not." said Jeremy maliciously. "I activate my trap, Negate Attack (When your opponent attacks with a monster, negate the attack and make your opponent's Battle Phase end.) which cancels your swordsman's attack, safeguarding my life points!" A swirling vortex opened, and the Warrior of Zera dissappeared into it, and reappered on Chris's side of the field. "This ends your turn." Jeremy added.

 

Jeremy's turn:

 

"I'll give you somethin' to fight!' said Jeremy. "I summon Goblin Elite Attack Force (EARTH/Level 4/Fiend-type/ATK 2200/DEF 1500 If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. This card’s battle position cannot be changed until the end of your next turn, except with a card effect.) in attack mode." Three goblins in shiny silver armor and brandishing swords appeared from the ground and growled at Chris. "And i think i'll have them attack! Go, Goblin Elite Attack Force, attack his face-down card! Elite Sword Strike!" The goblins rushed at Chris's face-down monster. It materialized, revealing a Slate Warrior (WIND/Level 4/Fiend-type/ ATK 1900/ DEF 400 FLIP: Increase the ATK and DEF of this monster by 500 points. The ATK and DEF of a monster that destroys this monster as a result of battle is decreased by 500 points.)

 

"Ha! Your attack has activated my Slate Warrior's special effect. He gains 500 attack and defense points, making able to withstand your attack!" The swords of the goblins shattered against the Slate Warrior as he said this. "And since your Goblin Elite Attack Force is weaker than my Slate Warrior, he's destroyed!" The Goblins vanished as they were destroyed. Then the Slate Warrior rose up, brushed the shards of steel off himself, and stood between Warrior of Zera and Dark Lucius LV4.

 

"Hmph. I'll play two cards face-down to end my turn." Jeremy said begrudgingly.

 

Chris's turn:

 

"OK, your in for it, Jeremy. I'll attack you directly with Dark Lucius LV4! Hit him with Darkness Punch!" Dark Lucius LV4 lept into the air and brought his fist down on Jeremy. "Augh!" shouted Jeremy as he saw his life points be reduced down to 4000.

 

Chris's LP: 5000

Jeremy's LP: 4000

 

"I'll play one more card face-down to end my turn. Your turn." Chris told Jeremy.

 

Jeremy's turn:

 

"OK, then, i'll summon Gearfired the Iron Knight (EARTH/Level 4/Warrior-type/ATK 1800/DEF 1600 When an Equip card is equipped to this card, destroy the Equip card) in attack mode, and then i'll activate one of my face-downs, Misfortune (Select 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field to activate this card. Inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to half the original ATK of the selected monster. Your monsters cannot attack this turn.) which allows me to select one of your monsters and inflict damage to your life points equal to half that monster's attack points! And i choose Dark Lucius LV4!" Chris seethed at him as his life points dropped to 4500. "Fortunatly for you, Misfortune prevents me from atacking this turn as well, so i'll end my turn."

Jeremy's LP: 4000

 

Chris's turn:

 

"This duel's about to heat up, Jeremy!" Chris said buotantly. "I activate my facedown Field spell card, The Sanctuary in the Sky (Battle Damage to the controller of a Fairy-Type monster from a battle involving that Fairy-Type monster becomes 0.)!" Walls began to rise up from the ground all around them, and they formed a high ceiling. Flaming torches lined the walls, and against the wall behind Chris, on a raised, stone-stepped section of the floor was an ornate throne. They were in some sort of temple.

 

"Also, when the Sanctuary in the Sky is on the field at the same time as my Warrior of Zera, i'm allowed to sacrifice him to summon an even greater creature!" Warrior of Zera lept into the air and sat down into the throne behind Chris, and a radiant aura surrounded him, and then he was compleatly enveloped in light. Then, from that shaft of light came what appeared to be a taller version of Warrior of Zera, except the green clothing was gone, the helmet was longer, he had wings, he held a huge broadsword, and all he was wearing was a long, deep blue loincloth.

 

"Say hello to Archlord Zerato! (LIGHT/Level 8/Fairy-type/ATK 2800/DEF 2300 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by offering 1 face-up "Warrior of Zera" on your side of the field as a Tribute while "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field. If "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on your side of the field, discard 1 LIGHT Monster Card from your hand to the Graveyard to destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field.). This is what the Warrior of Zera becomes when he enters the Sanctuary in the Sky. I'll end my turn here."

 

Jeremy's turn:

 

"It'll take much more than your Archlord Zerato to defeat me, Chris. Your gonna need everything you've got. Just because your my pal doesn't mean i'll go easy on ya!" He drew his card, smirked and announced, "I summon Prometheus, King of the Shadows (DARK/Level 4/Fiend-type/ATK 1200/DEF 800 When you Normal Summon this card, remove from play any number of DARK monsters in your Graveyard. This card gains 400 ATK for each removed card, until the End Phase of this turn.) in attack mode!" A creature wearing a red cape with a hood pulled over its head rose from the ground. Despite the fact that he had a hood, his eyes glowed yellow, and he had gold-and-orange armor shaped like a demonic-looking ribcage.

 

"Whenever Prometheus is summoned, i'm allowed to remove any number of Dark-attribute monsters from my graveyard, and for every monster i remove, my monster gains 400 attack points for every monster i remove in this way. But luckily for you, i don't have any Dark-attribute monsters in my grave, so my monster's attack points remain at 1200....for now." Jeremy said. "I play two cards face-down to end my turn."

 

Chris's turn:

 

"A waste of a turn, that was." Chris observed. He drew his card, smirked once again, and then said "I play my spell card, Swords of Revealing Light (Flip all facedown monsters on opponents' side of field faceup. This card remains faceup on field for 3 of your opponent's turns. As long as this card remains faceup on the field, your opponent cannot declare an attack.) which prevents you from attacking me for 3 whole turns!" As he said this, half a dozen swords of light rained down on Jeremy's side of the field and surrounded him and his monsters. "That'll do it for me, for now. Your turn."

 

Jeremy's turn:

 

"Heh Heh Heh." Jeremy sniggered. "I summon Strike Ninja (DARK/Level 4/Warrior-type/ATK 1700/DEF 1200 You can remove this card from play until the End Phase of this turn by removing 2 DARK monsters in your Graveyard from play. You can use this effect during either player's turn. You can only use this effect once per turn.) in attack mode." A ninja clad in black shimmered into existance, made a noise that sounded like "Hyah!" and stood next to Gearfired the Iron Knight. "And i'll equip him with my face-down card, Sword of Dark Rites (Equip only to a DARK monster. It gains 400 ATK. When the equipped monster is Tributed and this card is sent to the Graveyard, return this card to your hand.) increasing his attack points to 2100!" A heavy broadsword appeared in the Ninja's hand. "I'll end my turn for now."

 

Chris's turn:

 

"OK, let's do this." Chris said to himself. "I play the equip spell Armed Changer (Send 1 Equip Card from your hand to the Graveyard to activate this card. If the equipped monster destroys a monster as a result of battle, the controller of this Equip Card can add 1 monster with ATK equal to or less than the equipped monster from their Graveyard to their hand.) and equip it to my Slate Warrior. Then i play a card face-down to end my turn."

 

Jeremy's turn:

 

Yes, the stage is set.thought Jeremy. "I summon Vorse Raider (DARK/Level 4/Beast-Warrior-type/ATK 1900/DEF 1200)in attack mode." A brown of skin warrior with a heavy double-bladed axe appeared on the field. "And then i play the spell card Mystical space Typhoon (Destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field.) to destroy your Armed Changer card.". A flurry of wind blew around the hologram of his Armed Changer card before it was destroyed. "I'll end my turn."

 

Chris's turn:

 

"Very well." said Chris. "I play the spell card Pot of Greed (Draw 2 cards from your deck.) which allows me to draw two extra cards." He snatched up two cards from his deck, smirked, and place one of them on the field. "I play this card face-down, and then set a monster in defense mode. My turn is over."

 

Jeremy's turn:

 

"You're finished, Chris! First, i'll play the Trap card DNA Transplant (Declare 1 Attribute when you activate this card. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the Attribute of all face-up monsters on the field becomes the one you declared.) to turn the attribute of all monsters on the field to DARK, and then i'll sacrafice Vorse Raider and Gearfried the Iron Knight to summmon the almighty Diabolos, King of the Abyss! (DARK/Level 7/Dragon-type/ATK 2800/DEF 1000 This card cannot be Special Summoned. If you Tribute Summon this card, the Tributes must be DARK. This card cannot be Tributed by a card's effect. During your opponent's Draw Phase, before their draw, look at the top of their Deck, then put that card on the top or bottom of their Deck.)." A huge black dragon in heavy black armor appeared, reared its head, and roared at Chris. "And since this is the 3rd turn after you activated your Swords of Revealing Light card, the swords wear off and i can attack!" As he said this, the swords of light faded away. "And i think i'll attack with my Strike Ninja. Go, Strike Ninja! Attack Dark Lucius LV4! Dark Sword Slash!" Lifting the Sword of Dark Rites, the Ninja ran towards Chris's Dark Lucius LV4 and rammed the sword through Dark Lucius LV4's chest. The monster let out an anguished yell before vanishing.

 

"And now, since i have two Dark-attribute monsters in my graveyard, i can remove them from play to activate the effect of my Prometheus, King of Shadows! I remove Vorse Raider and Gearfired the Iron Knight to raise my monster's attack points to 2000! Try getting past my attack force now! I end my turn."

 

Chris's LP: 3600

Jeremy's LP: 4000
