Jake the Sage
Indeed cross overs are good. And while I am curious about who Negi was going to be with I honestly don't mind. If I wanted a Romance Story from Akamatsu-dono I'll reread Love Hina.
Fusion X. Denver
Did he actually say he was moving on to something new, or is everyone just assuming that?
burnpsy
We have no indication, but there's evidence he might do an online serialization that's a sequel to a manga he's written on J-Comi. Misplaced said evidence, though.
Jake the Sage
As far as I know he hasn't stated anything like that
Fusion X. Denver
J-Comi? And I thought he only had 3 serialized titles, unless I'm mistaken.
burnpsy
Look it up, he's the one who started up J-Comi. The supposed evidence was apparently Twitter posts made in Japanese. And he has, like, 6, but one was an adaptation of an anime he wrote and two were one-shots.
Jord200
Sounds interasting. Whats it about?
burnpsy
What's what about? Oh, BTW, funnily enough, some translators finally got their hands on the RAW for the final chapter and were carefully examining the wording. It's apparently a totally legit interpretation of the Japanese to say that Negi confessed to Misora, but it's also possible to interpret it as Negi merely telling Misora who he liked. EDIT: Though the Misora epilogue can also mean it was Asuna. Goddamn it, Japanese!
Jake the Sage
So you could read it as he confessed about liking either Misora or Asuna, however it could also mean he just told Misora

Jake the Sage
Which is why I've been unable to figure out how to read it. However I am kind of expecting Akamatsu-dono to make a sequel to tie up loose ends.
Greiga
*reads chapter* *reads again* *reads again* We never find out who gets to be his wife unless I totally skipped something.

Greiga
We need a final final chapter or a Character book or something just for that.
burnpsy
I think he deliberately left it open.
He means Akamatsu purposely did not reveal who Negi ended up with because he thought it'd be better to leave it open-ended and up to interpretation, apparently. Jake the Sage
So, if there was to be a Negima sequel . . . do you think Akamatsu-dono would do it or would you be happy with someone else?
Darth Revan of the Sith
So, if there was to be a Negima sequel . . . do you think Akamatsu-dono would do it or would you be happy with someone else?
I hope he doesn't. He ended the series with a pretty great ending and I truthfully think the wonder of it would be ruined by a sequel. Now a prequel maybe. I would like to see a prequel. Plus if he does a sequel, than the fan-fic I am working on won't seem as cool.
Jake the Sage
Cronus he left a LOT of loose ends. Plus he really doesn't have the material for a prequel
Darth Revan of the Sith
Cronus he left a LOT of loose ends. Plus he really doesn't have the material for a prequel
But those loose ends are the wonder that keeps Negima the way it is. I don't think he should explain those at all. It gives readers a chance to make their own conclusions and ideas.
Jake the Sage
Well I can live with not knowing who Negi ends up with. After all this is a action series and not a romance/harem. But I need to know what happened to his Mother! (DX)
burnpsy
TBQH, general internet opinion is rage at the ending. He has nothing to lose by continuing it.
Jake the Sage
Agreed. He, for whatever reason, suddenly decided to end it so had to tie the entire thing up. You can actually tell when he decided that if you look hard enough . . . Which is before they actually got into the Gravekeeper's Palace.
