Yugioh: The Keys of Destiny[IC/Started/Accepting]

Chris nodded. He was a bit uneasy, since this guy seemed to be looking him over like he did something wrong, but he didn't mind. A ride with a weirdo was better than none. "I do have tons more questions, like how do you activate these holograms or if you will answer my other questions. I am also wondering how in the world I am going to get home." The sudden realization that he is far, far away from home, farther than he has ever been, hits him hard. He begins to tear up a bit as he bows his head. "Mom...Dad...Chantel...everyone I know is gone...I have no idea where I am or what I am doing!"

Tsu're stared at the cards the duelist played. "You've had quite the first turn. Sadly, I only have one card I want to play. I summon the Angel Suppressor - Diamoor (Level 3 800/200)!" A pale, white girl in an old dress appeared on the field. Her shadow had red eyes and was surrounding her feet in a circle. "She has a special ability, of course. When my Diamoor is summoned, I can return two cards from your graveyard back to your deck. I'm choosing the White Stone of Legend and Blue Eyes White Dragon. Now, this ability allows me to do something special. It allows me to make an additional normal summon this turn!"

Tsu're picked another card from his hand. "I summon the Angel Suppressor - Hyant, in attack mode!" Another Angel Suppressor appeared. This one looked like a small, dark skinned boy with the same shadow as the young girl. "My Hyant, of course, also has an ability! When he's normal summoned, and my opponent has no monsters in his grave, both of us sacrifice a monster. Then, once we do, we send the top two cards of our decks to the grave! I choose Hyant, and you have no choice but to select your monster!" The shadow around the small boy would pierce through the boy's heart, and that same pierce would work its way towards the dragon, destroying the dragon as well. Tsu're then put his top two cards from his deck to the graveyard.

"I'll end my turn with one card face down."

Customs Used -

Angel Suppressor - Diamoor
Level 3 Dark
Fairy/Effect
Once per turn, during your main phase, you can select two monsters in your opponent's graveyard and return them to your opponent's deck. If you do, you can normal summon an additional level 3 or lower Angel Suppressor from your hand, other than "Angel Suppressor - Diamoor".
800/200

Angel Suppressor - Hyant
Level 3 Dark
Fairy/Effect
When this monster is normal summoned, if your opponent has no monsters in his/her graveyard, you select a monster on your side of the field and your opponent selects a monster on his/her side of the field (if possible). Sacrifice the selected monsters. Then, both players send two cards from the top of their decks to the grave.

After leaving the cafe, Aj decided to take a nice ride around town. Mesmerized by the beauty of the city, he had somehow wound up by the ocean side. Enjoying the view of the magnificent ocean, Aj seemed to be unware of the approaching Duel Runner. Finally hearing the engine, he turned around to witness to people on the runner. Suddenly curious, he hopped on his Duel Runner and blasted his accelerator to catch up with the duo. Upon catching up he asked the two where they were heading.

"Good. So I'll draw! And... defeat you! Because this turn, I can summon the twin of Vylon Omega! From my hand, I activate the speed spell Reduce and Reuse! I remove from play Vylon Epsilon, to Summon 2 monsters, Vylon Tri and Vylon Bi, because they have equal or less total level than Vylon Epsilon. When I Special Summon Vylon Tri, I can special summon another Vylon monster until the End Phase. Come forth! Vylon Quad. Now, I can Special Summon a 'Vylon Token'. So! Double Tune Up! (1+2+3+4) Come Forward! Vylon Omega Phoenix!"
A golden burst of flame erupted from two red synchro rings. Out flew a majestic white phoenix with gold outlines and a crown shaped like an omega.
"Oh, and all your monsters which have been special summoned are..... destroyed. Unfortunatly for you, that's all of them! Next, my Vylon Prism is equipped to my Vylon Omega Phoenix. So.... attack!"

Seeing that the kid was upset, Leopold put his hands on his shoulders as if to offer comfort. Perhaps awkward, yes, but he didn't want to have to lug a crying mess all the way back up to Neo Domino. "Listen, kid, I'm sorry to see that you wound up here without your knowledge or consent. I would try and console you better, but I don't know what it's like. But I promise, there are people in Neo Domino City who can help you out. So let's get you back into town, how about that?" It was an awkward fit trying to squeeze the two of them into Leopold's Runner, especially with Chris' Duel Disk still strapped to his arm, but eventually everything managed to fit and Leopold gunned the engine, heading in the opposite direction of the two Duelists from earlier to head back into the main part of Neo Domino.

"Well, Chris, you asked me about the holograms from earlier. It's really not that hard to do." And with a flourish, Leopold took a deck out from a pocket, shuffling it dramatically while still trying to pilot the Duel Runner, and wound up sliding off to the side of the road and nearly ejecting his passenger. Oops, he thought, forgot to switch to autopilot. With considerably less grace, he shifted the Duel Runner into Duel Mode, and the vehicle automatically adjusted itself back into the middle of the road. "Sorry about that, where was I? Oh yes, the holograms. Well, you just take an ordinary Duel Monsters card, like this..." He paused to pull an Oyster Meister from his deck, "...and put it down on the Duel Disk system attached to the Runner, and..."

With a sparkle, the Oyster Meister seemed to rise out of thin air, adopting a battle stance and clutching its shell disk as menacingly as a fish hologram could do such a thing. "Nothing to it!" Leopold shouted. He removed the card and switched the Runner back into manual control. "A Duel Disk, or a Runner, acts like one of those fancy devices that scan pictures into a computer, only more complicated. Basically, it reads the card, and projects a hologram. Or something like that." Leopold was about to continue his explanation, when a startling prospect cut his speech sort.

"They do have Duel Monsters in 'American', don't they?"

Chris frowned at being called a "kid". He was 19, for crying out loud! But he decided to go along with what the man had to say. He was about to correct Leopold when the driver almost threw him out, an experience he did not enjoy, but was merely shocked at what had just occurred. It was only when Leopold demonstrated what Duel Monsters is that Chris realized what his Duel Disk was. "No, we don't have it in America. And it's America. I am from America, so I am an American. Just letting you know." He ejected the deck and started looking through the cards. "'X-Saber Palomuro'? 'Super-Nimble Mega Hamster'? 'Snowfall Sword'? 'Field-Commander Rahz'? 'Gottoms' Emergency Call'? What kind of crazy game is this?"

Leopold smiled. "Sorry, sorry, America. My bad. And, for your information, while you're in Neo Domino City, this 'crazy game' is gonna be your way of life, Chris. Y'see, those cards you hold in your hand are worth quite a bit, actually. Nice Deck you got there. People are gonna come along and they're gonna want to take it from you. So, you Duel them and keep your cards, and make some money and some friends, and that's more or less how life works. It sounds lazy, but Dueling is surprisingly quite exhilarating."

Upon reaching the edge of the city, Leopold immediately veered off into a maze of side streets and alleys, eventually coming to a stop at an old warehouse. It provided just the right amount of seclusion--out of the public eye, but a short walk away from the center of Neo Domino. "This is just an old place I used to come when I was still picking up on Duel Monsters. It sets the wrong atmosphere, maybe, but I can't help but feel nostalgic about this place...after you, Chris." And Leopold led the kid inside.

"OK, what you need to know about Duel Monsters first and foremost is that it seems a lot more complicated than it is. We'll start with the basics. While you're on the streets of Neo Domino City, you're fair game for anyone to challenge you to a Duel. If they say they're from the Order and you're with me, don't worry--you probably won't have to duel them. But if they're around your age and they're dressed in really obnoxious clothes, then get ready for a fight." Leopold smirked at his own little bit of cynicism towards the Rebellion. Hey, if he had a willing audience, he might as well see if he can't make a recruit out of it. "To start, shuffle your Deck and place it face-down in your Duel Disk. Then, draw 5 cards--hey, this may take a while to explain without a little help. Can I see your Deck? You can just Duel me--unofficially, I can give you a real quick runthrough as we go along, and I can even throw some cards your way. Whaddaya say, Chris? Up for a little tutorial match?"

(OOC: I aplogize for my appcence.)

Velc smilied at the girl. Even thiugh he didn't care much currently about the conversation, it was still nice to have someone to talk to. That's when an idea struck his mind. "Hey," he began, "how bout' we duel? It's always fun, and you might learn a thing or too about your opponent. That and I bet I have cards you haven't seen before." He did want to know this girl, especially because he hadn't heard anyone else with the last name of Stellar. Obviously excluding Astro, through.

Chris put his deck away as they entered the city proper. He was entranced by the huge skyscrapers and the flashing lights, until they reached the seedier part of town, at which point he looked straight ahead. Once they arrived at the warehouse, he looked around the place. He wondered what the "Order" was, but he decided to ask later, and instead focus on learning how to duel. "Sure. Here it is." Chris handed the deck to Leopold. It was packed with all sorts of rare cards, all with the objective of gaining various advantages, mostly field. There were even a few cards Leopold had never seen before, but one particular unknown stood out among the others.

Ed wasn't even concentrating to the duel. He was thinking about his lost deck. He came back from the memories when Phoenix attacked, but when the attack was finished Ed was still standing up with one face-up Trap card. It was Mirror Force. Ed looked at Astro with his burning eyes. He was thinking what would he do if he would win. His first thoughts were that he will put Astro to sleep and then take his deck and key. But then he noticed that he doesn't have anything to do with the key.

One of them for sure looked like he came from another world. "Well i geuess ill follow them until i seek wat im looking for (gps is blinking uncontrolably)." stated the black and red rider.

Leopold whistled as he looked over Chris' deck. "Wow, kid, I've been in the business of selling cards for twenty years and I've never seen any deck quite like this. However you ended up with this deck, you should guard it carefully. Here, you take your deck back. Strap your Duel Disk back to your arm. I'll go first. So, we both draw 5 cards. Since it's my turn, I draw a card!" Leopold drew is card in the over-the-top style typically reserved for cheesy TV shows, but he felt like playing the Duel up. If it was the kid's first experience Dueling, it should be theatrical. The opening hand itself was mediocre, but it had a nice balance of Monsters, Spells, and Traps--perfect for a demonstration.

"OK, we'll start with the basics--Monster Cards. Once per turn, you can play one Monster card face-up from your hand, called Summoning the monster. I'll summon Oyster Meister, in attack mode! Remember him?" And the same fish came rising up out of the Duel Disk. It was a pretty poor first move by Leopold's standards, but for the purposes of an example it'd do. "Next, look through your hand. Hopefully there should be a mix of Monsters, Spells, and Traps in it--it says on the card what type of card it is, and they're all different colors. I'll activate the Spell Card, Gold Sarcophagus! When I play this card, I can set aside one card from my Deck and add it to my hand later. I'll choose my Superancient Deepsea King Coelecanth! Spell Cards are easy--you just play them face-up from your hand, resolve their effect, and then they go to the Graveyard."

"Lastly, for Trap Cards. You can't play those from your hand--the Duel Disk won't let you. You have to set them face-down first and wait to flip them up later. But Traps are sneaky--you can play them during your opponent's turn. I'll set one myself and pass to you. Go ahead and draw, Chris. One more thing--when you summon a monster, check the Level stars--there have to be 4 or fewer for you to just play it. Otherwise, you'll have to sacrifice monsters already on the field. But we can get to that later. Go, conduct your first turn of Duel Monsters!"

Chris understood as best as he could once he placed his deck into his Duel Disk's deck slot and turned it on. "I think I got it. I draw first, then I can now Normal Summon a monster, and I choose...X-Saber Galahad!" He placed the card on the field, and a golden knight that had a faint resemblance to a chameleon appeared in front of him, causing Chris to step back a bit. The reptilian warrior was brandishing a rather wicked-looking spear, and looked pretty nasty. (1800 ATK, LV4) "Now, if I'm reading this correctly, Galahad gains 300 Attack Points whenever he attacks, so I am going to do what should be obvious, and attack your Oyster Meister!" Galahad surged towards the fish, gaining speed. (1800 ATK -> 2100 ATK)

Leopold grimaced as he saw the armor-clad monster run at his Oyster Meister. Almost on instinct, he reached to flip up his face-down card, but he reconsidered at the last minute. Better to let the kid get a feel for playing the game fully, rather than just go all-out and take all the fun out of the Duel. Leopold watched in mild disgust as the X-Saber cleaved his fish creature in two. The Oyster Meister shattered into a thousand colorful pieces, and Leopold covered his eyes as the area where the Meister used to be glowed intensely. "Alright, Chris, you're a natural. That said, you've got 5 cards in your hand and only one monster on the field. Obvioiusly, you don't want to over-commit. But read over the Spells and Traps in your hand. Since it's the first turn, any traps in your hand you probably want to set, in case they come in handy later. For Spells you could activate, it's a judgment call. I personally don't like using more than 3 cards on the first turn. It depletes the hand. But hey, your call. Let me know when it's my turn."

Roland pulled his runner over in a rather rundown alley. Turning it off and swinging his leg over, he disembarked from the vehicle and began down the narrow street. Why he was going this way was beyond him but he didn't really care. Something told him to come this way. It wasn't long before he came to a spot, seeing two people seemingly setting up a duel. "Hm...might as well watch...couldn't hurt." He chuckled to himself as he looked around and found a nearby trash can and hoped up as quietly as he could, trying to stay somewhat hidden as he watched. One of them seemed a bit new to the game, and Roland nodded to himself. "We all start out new at some point.." ANd with that he went back to watching the scene play out.

"Sorry but unless you have a spare deck I can borrow, that isn't possible. I don't have my deck with me currently, and I do better at turbo duels anyway, because I can accel synchro then though I don't have my duel runner here either." Silke held up her arm to show an empty duel disk, as her deck was currently hidden away and not easily accessable without revealing that she was Drakkus. Even as she said all that, her right hand continued with the constant flicking of the coin, up and down, again and again, undending.

"Well sorry, but that failed!" The prism like attachment of the Vylon Phoenix blew up on itself, and then the great white bird engulfed itself in white flames. When the flames died down, no monster could be seen, the phoenix synchro monster had completely disappeared from sight. So, do you end your phase? Or do you have another trick up your sleeve which i can stop? Because I will happily stop anything you throw at me! For my name is Astro Stellar; descendant of Antinomy Stellar and heir to the White Key. So please, throw all you have at me!"

I don't have anything to do so it's your turn Ed had realized that winning Astro would not statisfy him, only defeating his dad would do that. And then he finally realized that he really belongs to Rebellion. A ray of light came down from sky on Ed. Ed's duel runner and duel disk suddenly changed to green. Ed shouted loudly I belong to REBELLION! He felt confident and he knew what he wanted. He wanted to win in a duel with his father and destroy Dark Order.

Astro's eyes widened, then he chuckled to himself. "Because that happens every day of the week doesn't it? Well, my Phoenix now returns to myside of the field, and by activating its effect, I can re-equip Vylon Prism." In another burst of flame, the white and gold phoenix reappeared onto the field, with Vylon Prism equipped to it, giving it extra attack power. "Well... it looks like this duel is over, but your real duel... against the dark order is just beginning! ATTACK VYLON OMEGA PHOENIX! OMEGA FIRE FLIGHT!"
The phoenix turned completely red and gold, and flew up to the sun. Then it dived, straight towards Ed. Fire cloaked around the both of them, creating a tornado of fire. "Astro slowed down, to catch up with Ed's now stopped Duel Runner.
"Nice duel man, and welcome to the rebellion. I should probably take you to my superior, or my closest friend anyway!"

To get away from the overly-curious eyes of the city folk, as well as to explore more of the city, Alexander took out his collapsible hover board, hopped on it and sped off into one of the alleyways.

"Please, let there be something, or someone, to keep me occupied," Alex thought to himself. He had considered going into the pizzaria that he sped passed on the way, but figured that it would get him captured by animal control by accident. "I hope I don't starve in this dimension...."

After going through what seemed like an intricate maze of alleys, Alexander finally caught sight of one individual standing outside a warehouse next to what Alex recognized as a Duel Runner. Slowing down, Alex came to a stop next to this individual. "Sorry to intrude, sir," Alex said politely as he hopped off his hover board and collapsed it before putting it on his back, "but could you tell me what's going on in there?" he asked as he pointed towards the warehouse.

Roland looked over to the newcomer and nodded. "From what I can tell it's a class for a beginner. I haven't really seen too much right now, but it seems like the new person is catching on quickly." He spoke, trying to convey his hint of being hidden from the others as he spoke. Absentmindedly he tucked the key that hung around his neck under his coat quickly, so as to avoid anyone really seeing it. He had been involved in a duel earlier with someone trying to take it, and he wasn't ready just yet for another duel so quickly, and besides, he wanted to see how this duel he had stumbled apon would play out.

"I'm going to activate a trap card. Go, Cowardly Run!" A trap card appeared, showing a small, pale goblin being chased by a shining angel, but was quickly disposed of as Diamoor was destroyed. Tsu're gave a smile, "My Cowardly Run activates when you declare an attack. If your attack goes through, and I take battle damage, your battlephase ends! But that's not all! I can remove it from my graveyard in order to negate an attack as well! So, since your battlephase is over, what are you going to do?" Tsu're stared at the duelist. Cowardly Run was a very powerful trap card, but it wasn't stronger than others. At that situation he would have rather had a mirror force or negate attack. What makes Cowardly Run powerful is its second ability.

Cards/Counters used -

Cowardly Run
Trap
Activate only when your opponent declares an attack before the damage step. If your monster is destroyed and you take battle damage from that attack, your opponent's battle phase ends. While this card is in your graveyard, if it was sent there from the field, you can remove it from play in order to negate one of your opponent's attacks.

Well, thanks friend. Ed sayed. All I want right now is to defeat Dark Order and free this city from destruction. I know some plans Dark Order is planning. But I can't return to Dark Order HQ because they will probably notice from color of my duel disk and runner that I have changed sides. Maybe we should go to Rebellion HQ now? He looked at his cards and noticed some new cards among the others. But then he noticed a new deck in his duel disk. It wasn't there before. There was many dragon monsters in that deck and a dragon alpha-synchro monster that Ed had never seen before.

"Alright, if that's how you duel. Then, i'll just set a face-down and end my turn." Ran chuckled and started and saying "BREAK!" repeatedly like a crazy bofoon. Ran stared at the duelist which is also staring at him that might look like they are competing for a staring contest. Ran said to the duelist, "Your cards are cool but mine is cool-er. I wanna know your name." He asked the unknown duelist of what he's name. Surely he is superbly curious at the duelist with angel cards. He waited for the duelist's answer and his turn.
