Snipe Hunter should be banned.

 

Although I could state my case in a well organized essay, I think the discussion would work better as a guided excercise. Basically, someone states their opinion, and actually backs it up and then we will continue until the topic has us reaching a conclusion.

no i think its good at limited, cause it has a cost and can often end in u discarding a card for no reason...but the fact that it can destroy any card on the field kinda makes it so that it almost fall of the cliff, but its pretty weak stats pull it back up

I don't think it should be banned. Limited is fine for me, if you discard and you roll a 1 or 6, you just wasted a card that you might have used later on in the duel.

It systematically forces activation of any chainable spells and traps for no reason. Since your opponent doesn't know how the dice will spin, and rather then being at a 1-1 loss, they'd be forced to chain stuff.

 

Also, their are so many cards in the metagame that are much more useful in the graveyard. Destiny Hero Disk Commander, Malicious, Treeborn Frog, and Dasher to an extent.

It depends entirely on what you discard. An experienced duelist won't throw out whatever card they have in their hand. They choose what is discarded, dead cards in their hands into 1-1 bullets.

i agree with the others cause it got as good effect but ATK and DEF rubbish!

 

It's attack and defense are what make it great. It's searchable by Sangan, Mystic Tomato, and Dark Burst.

1: That's only if you have a spell or trap. Second of all, could we get off situtional combos?

I think it should be banned. it is four star, the cost is small, and it cant be destroyed if you just have ring of protection or level limit area b ( if those arent banned. i dont check the list)

I think it should be banned for a few reasons:

 

1. It can target any card.

2. It's highly searchable, not to mention the dark support from Phantom Darkness.

3. The difference between winning and losing could come down to Snipe Hunter's dice role. I don't like winning/losing based on the role of a die. Don't get me wrong, there are dice/coin based cards that are fine (blowback dragon), but snipe hunter has much more impact on a game, too much impact for a luck based effect imo.

it is a basic 1 for 1, but theres a chance it doesnt work, and theres also a chance you won't have enough cards to ruin your opponent.

 

but in most situations it will ruin your opponent with one try. it can also pitch Frog, Disk Commander, Malicious, others.

but the chances of tha are 2/6. not the best odds.

thats 1/3. pretty good chance. not quite 50/50, but close.

 

trust me, i've wasted plenty of cards getting that 1/3.

 

i think the fact the snipey here can pitch the cards i mentioned above gives you advantage anyways, even if you miss.

Encourages unskilled play; turns any dead card in hand into an instant 2/3 crapshoot against any card on the field. Multi-use per turn and hitting both rows puts it over the top.

Ah, we agree on something for once. I really don't like Snipe Hunter. Talk about a game changing card.
