HolyCrap
I recently downloaded Photoshop and decided to have some fun with it, and this is the outcome. I really enjoyed myself doing this so I'll probably stay and learn some, even though I'm most likely s*** at it right now. Also if any of you could provide me some tutorials and material that do be awesome. Be harsh. I have the PSD. file left if anyone would be interesting seeing how I constructed it. Kuroda Kaito
Well i must say not bad for a first tag ^^, it is kinda cool ^^ but lighting and depth is off and the render is kinda blur, you should sharpen it up a bit, well at your level, i recommend you that you should read some tuts to master your basic
HolyCrap
Thx, I'll edit it later.
Twenty-five Zero Oh-oh
Not bad. Right now just read tuts and look at good sigs to get a feel for tagging.
Seta
I'd say that from this the beginning of your graphics designing looks real good. Unlike many newcomers who go with probably the worst render you could ever find and the worst C4D's and just spam them around like maniacs, this looks real nice for your first tag. Actually, with (quite a lot of) working this could be really good. But yeah, it's a good beginning, just keep working on your basics and stuff. HolyCrap
Thx, I'm practicing with tutorials atm.
.Rai
From a beginner, really good compared to most stuff I see. I think just some time doing tags should improve you tons. You've got potential. Work on depth and flow. Some beginners seem to like my tutorial so I suggest you check it out. Probably too basic for you since I made it for people literally just starting to GFX, but it could help you some amount. Here. I think if you desaturate and boost the contrast, it might look a little better. See what happens anyway.

HolyCrap
You know the gradient thingy I did in this tag so you can see through the gradient, how did I do that..? I forgot and now it's really bothering me.

Made a new layer. Darkened the whole thing. Layer mask and mask off bits to return back to normal.
HolyCrap
Thanks, what do the layer mask do ?
.Rai
Layer masks mean you can erase things without actually erasing them. It's literally like putting a mask on it. Brush black onto a mask, it'll hide it. White will show it again. You can use a gradient there to make them smoother. So if you have a layer on top that's a little darker and you put a mask on it. Fill it with black so you can't see it then place a black/white gradient on where the corner is, you'll end up with a darker patch there. The same result is with all the others. It's a little more complicated but it's nice to know.
HolyCrap
I see, one more thing, I downloaded a fractal pack but all the pictures have a black background, are they supposed to be on a black canvas or should I remove it some how ? Tefached
Far better than my first ever was; congrats. Other than whats already been suggested, there is little input I can add; the fact that you've started out on Photoshop is already a good foot in the right direction ( I still use gimp or Sai) Very nice for a first,

Nothing really to comment besides that tuts/psds, along with a willingness to learn is all that's required. You might want to go to a forum dedicated to GFX, but you're off to a good start. HolyCrap
Yeah thanks, I'm working on a new one but I consider creating another one in the process since I can't really tell if the first 1 is good.
