No one is talking about the Ghost Recon coming out this year. Does anyone even think that will piss on COD?

I've never even heard of Ghost Recon, so that fact alone to me means that CoD will be more popular.

I do not think Call of Duty is going to die for somewhat awhile unless a greater FPS will be released because there is a tons of people who dedicate their lives to CoD. I such as a bunch of first person shooters, but I such as CoD because of the perk system.

...You mean suck, right? I can't see how anyone would "such" at first person shooters.

Waht about Modern Warfare 3? Aren't you guys excited for that? I preoredred it yesterday. And I never liked sniping. I'm a run-n-gunner, and always will be. =D

EDIT: CoD4 is the best, I rented it a few months ago, but only to find the whole online server hacked with people firing full auto noob tubes in every match. WaW sucks, I agree. I used to like MW2 better than Black Ops but that has changed. Quickscopers and noob tubers are terribly annoying, and you don't get any of that in Black Ops. Plus, there's zombies. =P

I am not interested in buying it at all. But if the time comes I might or just buy the new Assassin's Creed or Ghost Recon. The only thing I am looking forward to is the single player...

This, although I'll be saving my money for Battlefield 3. That game is going to be f***ing awesome.

Let's get facts straight; Call of Duty always has a spotless campaign, great character models, and a good weapon selection. But a rehash of all this year after year after year gets to a man. Take Call of Duty: Black Ops. The campaign was so great, one could play it a second time. But the multiplayer online was bad. All one had to do was make it to a high level, and mow down everyone else. The maps were iffy, and most were just no fun to play on. If anything, Activison should get the next Black Ops production company up to bat and skip the perennial release so they can improve multiplayer.

However, after the costly divorce of Activison and Infinity Ward, I don't know what to expect anymore.

I started playing CoD: MW2 at my friend's house (more than once a month; I played around that much at my cousin's for about half a year) in July last year (2010) and personally I thought that MW2 was amazing. I loved it and since my friends are a little hardcore, I learned quick-scoping about half a month after I really started to play. Then CoD: BO came out and I got it as well as a PS3 at Christmas (I'm a Christmas noob, yay!) and started kicking butt as soon as I started playing. I am now a 2nd Prestiege Lv 4X (can't remember the exact number) and I love BlackOps as well... But as others have stated, BlackOps is missing something. Maybe it's because the maps are a LITTLE too big, it lacks a colorful environment (with the exception of Nuketown), or maybe because the guns (most of them) aren't really used at all? I can't tell. But I'm excited for CoD: MW3 to come out!

Eh, I didn't care for Battlefield BC2 since we had MW2 and BO. I might check out B3 though.

I'm honestly worried about MW3 being messed up. It won't be the same without Vince and Zampella. I didn't like the Black Ops campaign much. And the multiplayer is fun, but gets monotonous quickly. I'm only 3rd prestige and already getting sick of leveling. Both single and multi player are inferior to MW2, but I prefer BO over MW2 becuase of noob tubers, quickscopers, hackers, and lack of zombie mode. Hopefully Raven won't mess up the multiplayer, but if they do, we still have a nice single player expirience to look forward to.

The maps aren't as good, that's true. I can't wait for MW3 either, because BO is getting boring, and I don't like Mw2 anymore because of noob tuber, quickscopers, etc.

I liked CoD4 for it's campaign, liked MW2 for the multiplayer, and I liked BO for Zombies. Disliked WaW. Personally.....it's overhyped and not that great. I like Battlefield, Halo, and GoW better. :PP

Battlefield and GoW for the win.

What you mean the guns aren't used? Last night I swear to god every person I played with used every gun you can choose from.

Plus the maps aren't really that big. They are on average smaller than MW2 maps so i really don't know why people say MW2 is cool, when it aint.

Call of Duty is extremely good at what it does - being a high definition, realistic and addictive first-person shooter with a brilliant multiplayer mode. However, it does not have much depth beyond that and with each new release there is less to improve on because its (limited, albeit) traits have already reached close to perfection. With each new incarnation comes graphical updates, but not much more than that. It's brilliance at being a first-person shooter is sort of its own downfall, really - because it is so good already, new games in the series are becoming increasingly boring.

People so often ignore how good it is at what it is supposed to do because of its players - all too many of them are single-minded idiots (not all of them, but quite a few are).

It wouldn't be any fun if it were exactly like real-life. Imagine playing one game, dying, then never being able to play again. :P

I am under the belief that the American youth is becoming solidified and CoD is an example, where is the creativity and complex nature found in proper strategic gameplay of some RPGs or the competitive RTS's or even intense boss encounters in Action/Adventure. I'm not saying CoD is horrid and stupid there is a market for easy games like CoD and AC but quite a few youth today only play that and it upsets me that they have no variety and they play such a low-caliber game as their only form of game. I pick up a CoD game every once and a while but shouldn't variety and complex gameplay be a sign of a true gamer instead of a CoD k/d.?

Honestly, I only snipe on WaW. Then again, WaW also has the only reliable bomb. Claymores are hard to hide without them not going off or going off through a wall. I put a claymore in a doorway, an enemy walks straight over it and shoots me. I walk over a claymore and I die. Bouncing betties are the only reliable bomb, you get two, and its only available in WaW.

Honestly i don't think i'll get bored of COD. Ever. And i've been playing it from the original and so on. And even though MW brought a new era in COD, i liked WaW and BO more than MW2 for a reason. Because they didn't want to go same way as MW and brought it back to the WW2 Setting, along with adding Zombies as an amazing success, and then BO brought Cold War into play and amazing installments of Zombies. At least Treyarch was trying to change from MW and bring something new in play, where as MW2 just introduced the same thing with an overpowered Multiplayer. But i believe COD is still burning in the hearts of fans, and no matter how many good shooters appear nowadays and they might even be better than COD, i do believe COD is coming back with MW3 and BO2 in 2012.
