Yugioh: The 2nd WRGP [Started/Not Accepting/IC]

Recommended Posts

Agent Fury returned to the party hopefully seeing his teammates for sure. And he did, but instead of going to the front door, he went backdoor and suddenly meet up with Alpha. "Hey Alpha, The agency funded us to upgrade our Duel Runners to Mach 3, and added some additional boost. But we haven't worked on the strategy yet." said Fury. He waited for Alpha's response but Fury suspected that the guy named Ran hasn't really left. He stayed on the backside of the building where the party is up and Ran is holding some kind of high-tech device.
---------------------
Ran is inputing on his device. Ran's said to himself, "Thanks to that pat I just gave to Alpha of Team Dataspace, I can still know what's happening on that party.". Then Ran glared on the device but the signal is not picking up.He then, said to himself, "Oh no, it's ruining the plan. Uhh!!, Useless trash!", Ran threw the device and secretly entered the backdoor instead.

Char was sitting at the bar, sipping on a glass of rather strong vodka. Her systems processed the alcohol to prevent her from getting drunk, but in the short time it was affecting her, it allowed for the visions to be dulled. This tournament was messing with her foresight, seeing all sorts of futures that might be. The fact that The Emperor and one of The Lovers had shown up wasn't helping, and someone who may or may not be her old rival, The Fool, made her foresight go crazy whenever she was around her. She watched everyone meet and greet, but it wasn't her style to do that. She remained more or less invisible to the crowd, trying to numb the pain she was feeling.

Meanwhile, in the stadium proper, an illegal duel was taking place between two rivals.
"Face it, kid! You're not gonna defeat me this time! I blasted through the prelims without my team's help, while you sat back and watched your teammates do the hard work for you!"
"You know exactly what is at stake here, so why not settle this here and now instead of with a tournament?"

Amanda reached the bar a few minutes after, a bit tired of all the compliments and "hello" that she said to a bunch of her old classmates. Oh boy this was going to be a long, long day...
In the bar, Amanda took a deep breath and ordered a glass of orange juice with ice while her eyes scanned the room around her. Where oh where could her team be?
Walking a bit around the bar, trying to figure out a spot to sit down, Amanda finally recognized one of the faces she wanted to see: Char.
The female was drinking with her impenetrable expression of almost-boredom. Amanda didn't know much about Char's past. She only knew the woman when team Starlight was founded. Since Char didn't seem to be a very social person, circunstance talks weren't needed. Even so, Amanda decided to join her team mate, presenting her with a big smile.
"Finally! Someone from team Starlight." She said tossing her blonde hair behind her back "I've been here for awhile but I couldn't see either you or Kai... Are you feeling prepared for this tournament, Char?" Amanda knew that Char could prolly answer a monosylabic word as "yes" but even so. It was good to see a friendly face in the middle of a sea of strange duelists.

Ran just noticed that the population of the crowd keeps growing and growing. Ran tries to know what else he can learn from the other teams. Ran saw a weird lady which happens to be Char from Team Starlight. Ran then knew he was some kind of robot. He then dashes into Char and asked, "Hi, you look like a duelist, mind telling me what team you are and your teammates?". but suddenly interrupted by a girl named Amanda of Team Starlight. Ran recognized here from Duel Academy even though he was kicked out there. He then, talked to Amanda, "Hello, are friends with her? You also look familiar to me. Anyways, i forgot to introduce myself, I'm Ran Yakimoto, Team Leader of Team Rulers. Say are you a duelist?". After Ran made a brief introduction, He glared on Amanda and Char, waiting for response.

Char turned to Amanda and greeted her. "Hello." She always had her hood up, even at a function like this, much like the leader of Team Vendetta, Vicky. However, from what Amanda had seen, she looked eerily similar to Sherry Leblanc, and even sounded like her, albeit without the French accent. She sipped some more of the dulling vodka.

In the practice arena, an intense duel was underway. One duelist, a blonde-haired man riding a large white Duel Runner, had a white-robed magician holding a book, a fiery giant with an engine on his back, a mechanical turbine with arms and legs, and a blue sphere that had glowing circuitry running across it. The other duelist, a cloaked woman whose lower body was now like that of a horse's, drew her card. Her field consisted of a female magician with green robes and a few face-down cards.
"Now, I flip up the monster I received from Apprentice Magician! Architect of Endymion!"

Architect of Endymion
DARK/Spellcaster/Tuner/1/500/100
FLIP: Add 1 "Magical Citadel of Endymion" to your hand from your Deck. When this monster is Summoned successfully, you may Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower Spellcaster-Type monster from your Graveyard.

A gangly magician in Dark Magician-esque armor with 5-o'-clock shadow, a bored expression, and a chisel and hammer that had Spell Counters on them popped up from the face-down card. (500 ATK, LV1)
"Now I can Special Summon my Apprentice Magician!"
A young magician with curly blonde hair, a red headband, and a similar appearance to Dark Magician appeared. (400 ATK, LV2)
"Time to Synchro Summon!"
The architect sped forward and became a ring, while the apprentice entered and became 2 stars.
"Brick and stone enchanted to guard your master! May black magic grant me victory! Synchro Summon, defend me, Gatehouse of Endymion!"

Gatehouse of Endymion
DARK/Spellcaster/Synchro/3/0/3000
"Architect of Endymion" + 1 or more Spellcaster-Type non-Tuner monsters
If this monster is in Attack Position, destroy this card. As long as this monster is face-up on your side of the field, your opponent's monsters cannot attack your Life Points directly, and your face-up Field Spell, Continuous Spell, and Continuous Trap Cards cannot be removed from the field by your opponent's card effects. You may place Spell Counters on this card.

The array erupted into a beam of light, and a huge structure bigger than a two-story house was floating behind the centaur. This enormous monstrosity was a huge gate made of white stone with several Spell Counters on it. A red orb materialized near the top of the gate, and it gazed at its foes with this single eye. (3000 DEF, LV3)

Char sensed something going on over at the practice track, and turned to look at it, but was interrupted by Ran. "We are on a team that you will find out about tomorrow. Does that answer your question, which you repeated several times?" Obviously, she wasn't pleased with the young man.

Nova could feel the wind rustling in his hair, even with his helmet on. He needed to get faster. At the moment he was going at a pitiful 100 MPH. He needed to go a lot faster to learn the secret of his deck. He had never felt so alive. Every turn could kill him. But, even now, he was not fast enough. He thought about the requirements of what he was trying to do. He breathed in deeply. His mind had to be empty. As Nova sped along, a silver trail of mist appeared from behind him. He smiled. Only 1 more thing needed to be forfilled. He took a quick breath, then activated his duel mode. His Duel Runner doubled in power, with Nova realising that it's true pontential could only be realized through dueling.

He had met the requirments, the monsters were on his field, his mind was clear, and he was as fast as light itself. "Accel Synchro Summon! Come forth, block out the light, and show them youre divine power! Fabled Fiend Deity, Destroy them!"
Fabled Fiend Deity
LIGHT/Level 11/Fiend/Synchro/Effect: "Fabled Leviathan" + 1 non-Tuner monster
When this card is Summoned, send all cards from your hand to your Graveyard, then destroy a number of cards on the field equal to or less than the amount of cards discarded. This card gains ATK equal to the number of cards discarded X 1000. During the End Phase, return all cards on the field to their respective owners Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Fabled" monster from your Graveyard.
1500/2000
Astro sped up, and saw a young man riding a duel runner at, in his own opinion, average speeds. Astro created a small slip stream to speed him up and catch up to the rider within under a second. "Hello!" He called, "Nice runner you got there! What are you trying to do? An accel synchro maybe? The names Astro Stellar! From Team Omegus! Mind if I join you for a bit?!"
He accelerated his engine, and his runner became a blur. He called out to the rider behind. "Try to catch up!"

Just because he's a potential revival, doesn't mean I can't get to know him. Its always good to have decent competition, at the best of their abilities.
He looked back at the person behind him.
Wait one sec.... I done a lap already?! God this upgrade is quick!
Then he saw an accel synchro monster on the field. "Nice! Looks like I'll be having good competition. Glad I'm not the only one who can do that!"

Nova looked at the man speeding ahead of him. As far as he knew, he was running a Tech Genus Deck, which could prove bad for him. Therefore, Nova decided to change his deck slightly. He relesed the restraints on his duel runner, which was usualy only able to run at the average speed to Accel Synchro Summon. Now it could go at the theoretical speed required for Delta Accel. Luckily for this man, Astro, he belived, he had not yet obtained a Delta monster. He raced up to the man. "You think you can go fast? Think again." Nova said. He pressed his foot down. He had always quickly obtained the latest duel runner engines and parts, so he could go faster than pretty much anyone in a Riding Duel. This man may, however, prove to be of some compertition.

His duel runner seemed to be failing. Even with all the latest upgrades, it was still only able to hold that speed for up to a minute. It seemed that Nova would have to do some Tuning up on it. The newest frame was coming out soon, and he planned to get it. It was designed to go at much faster speeds. Soon, he would be the winner or the WRGP. Even if his team did lose, Nova had.... Other plans.

Amanda nodded at the simple "Hello" from Char. Like she predicted. The woman wasn't very talkative. Anyway... she didn't need to be social as long as her dueling skills were something extraordinary. The similarity between Char and the legendary french duelist, Sherry LeBlanc was astonishing.
Her "conversation" was interrupt by the sudden appearance from a new character. The boy walked over them asking... no... more like demanding answers from them.
Even so his face wasn't really strange, Amanda couldn't recognize the guy at 1st sight until he mentioned his name.

"Hello, are friends with her? You also look familiar to me. Anyways, i forgot to introduce myself, I'm Ran Yakimoto, Team Leader of Team Rulers. Say are you a duelist?"

Oh... she knew that name. Ran Yakimoto, the only guy expelled from Duel Academy. There were alot of rumors that time about the real reason why he was tossed out but all of them were what they were: rumors. The real reason was still a mystery. There was something about his tone of voice that seem to annoy Amanda. He didn't ask questions, he just demanded answers. With a personality as charming as that, no wonder why he got expelled from the Academy.
"Ran... I've heard of you, yes. You were that student that got expelled from Duel Academy, am I right? I've studied there too. Amanda Ferguson, one of the top female duelists there." She rose an eyebrow when she saw Ram's glare "Me and Char are on the same team, so we are kind of friends as you correctly stated."
She smirked at the other boy, remembering a few of Ram's atittudes at the Academy. If the rumours were right, there was something really wrong about him.

Vicky continued her turn. "Now, remember that Speed Spell you activated last turn? I can now activate my Magical Exemplar's effect! By removing a Spell Counter from her, I can Special Summon the monster I discarded for my Depth Amulet! Accountant of Endymion!"

Accountant of Endymion
LIGHT/Spellcaster/Tuner/1/200/700
Once per turn, you may select 1 monster on your side of the field. Remove any number of Spell Counters from cards on your side of the field to increase or decrease the Level of the selected monster by the number of Spell Counters you removed.

A weaselly magician with a strange demonic abacus was summoned out of a green portal by Magical Exemplar. (200 ATK, LV1)
"Now I can activate my Accountant's special ability! By taking away a Spell Counter from my Exemplar, I can reduce her level by 1!"
The accountant did some calculations on his abacus, and whispered something to the Exemplar, who was suddenly astonished, then sad. (LV4 -> LV3)
"Now I will Synchro Summon once more!"
The accountant threw his abacus into the air and disappeared, becoming a ring, while Exemplar entered the ring, turning into 3 stars.
"An incredible magician in such a youthful body! May black magic grant me victory! Synchro Summon, cast your spell, Mighty Mage!"

Mighty Mage
LIGHT/Spellcaster/Synchro/4/2000/1600
1 Tuner + 1 or more Spellcaster non-Tuner monsters
When this monster is Synchro Summoned successfully, place 3 Spell Counters on a face-up card on your side of the field. When this monster declares an attack, you may remove 5 Spell Counters from your side of the field to make the attack a direct attack on your opponent's Life Points.

A little mage with a white and blue outfit, light-blue skin, purple hair, and red and white staff appeared. He was rather small, almost child-like, but he looked like he was full of energy. (2000 ATK, LV4)
"You really think you'll defeat me with a building and a child?" Desna mocked.

Char continued to exude malice towards the young man. He was rather prominent in her visions, and he seemed to be up to no good. It was times like this that she wondered if she should judge people based on actions they had not yet committed, but from the things she had seen that he might do, it reflected negatively on him.

Astro laughed. "Well... someone obviously has a nice engine. But still, if you want to go at Delta Speeds, then you should really be able to go at those speeds for longer than just a minuite." He pulled out a deck and played 3 synchro monsters on his disk.
"TG Hyper Librarian, Brawler and Petite Angel. Three Synchro Monsters, 1 Synchro Tuner and-" He sped up his runner "-MAXIMUM SPEEDS!" He disappeared from view and then suddenly reappeared a minute later. Trailing behind him was a massive machine giant, armed with rocket launchers and massive guns. "This is an example of a Delta Accel! However, limits can be exceeded even more so, but that is my secret. for now." The card on his field faded.
"So, what team are you from?"

Nova stared as the man Delta Acceled. He would have to see this man's Duel Runner in greater detail. He then thought about what the man had said. Yes, he knew that there was something even more powerful than Delta Accel. He was pained to be reminded of it. "What team? I'm from Team [s]Rocket[/s] Rulers, and you?" Nova said, laughing at his inside joke. He stopped when he realized that the man was still watching. He took a quick look at the man's engine. It was obviously custom built. Nova knew of no engine that could withstand Delta Accel for that long. The closest thing he could reach was something that only he was aware of.

Ark had hit the buffet when his team had finished the mandatory meet and great, with his humble beginnings he had never had food that good and he didn't know when he would get another chance. After looking around for a while he noticed that some of the other participants had started dueling.
Phantom had gone out to the window and was enjoying the night view, she had never done well in situations like this or at least that's how it looked on her face but the fact that nobody really knew anything about her not even her teammates made it so it could all be an act.

"I'm from Team Omegus. Second duelist. And looking at the expression on your face.... yes, my runner is custom made. I l;earnt to Delta quite early so I had to make a runner which supported it. Anyway, it appears that we will be dueling in the first round, so I won't give away too many of my secrets." He smiled. "Good luck to you tomorrow. Omegus has a good reputation! We won't be going easy, and it's likely we might be dueling, unless of course you are first up." He smiled wickedly. "I'm off. Seeya tomorrow!" Suddenly, Astro revved his engine, and disappeared into thin air. Obviously he hadn't litterally disappeared but created a slip stream.
Interesting guy. Very interesting!

Kai roamed the party with a honest frown. His head tilted forward so his eyes were not in few. He just moped and walked till he ran into a wall and sat against it. "My deck... almost ready... my hands... ache... my team,... no where to be found and the duels start TOMORROW!" he shouted the last word. His head hurt more than his hands. The deep emotional confusion from the way everyone treated him was always there, so for now its on the back-burner and he is more worried about his other problems. "I gotta find Char and... Amanda, right... and ask them what they know about our strategy." His face cringed as he sat up, that accident he got into wasn't enough to kill him or wound him permanently. He was nearly positive that nothing could do that. His body wasn't wrapped in anything, but the pained showed on his face for a few seconds as he stood.

Vicky grinned as she played her next card. "I'll first activate the Pitch-Black Power Stone I have face-down, then activate Speed Spell - Counter Conversion!"

Speed Spell - Counter Conversion
Spell/Normal
Select any number of cards on your side of the field with counters on them. Remove the counters from the selected cards, then place Speed Counters on a "Speed World" you control equal to the number of removed counters.

"What good will that do? You only have 5 Speed Counters on your Speed World, and this will give you 3 more!"
"6!"
"Huh?"
"Mighty Mage placed 3 additional Spell Counters on my Gatehouse when he was Synchro Summoned!"
It was true. The gatehouse had 3 glowing Spell Counter orbs on its surface.
"Alright then, continue."
"I will!"
The 6 Spell Counters orbiting Pitch-Black Power Stone and on Gatehouse came off, and Vicky charged forward. (SPC:5 -> 11)
"Now I activate Speed Spell - Monster Reborn, rmoving 10 Speed Counters to Special Summon a monster from either of our Graveyards!"
"And who will you be Special Summoning? Your Arcanite Magician my Blade Blaster pulverized last turn? Or maybe my own Blade Blaster, using my monster against me? You really don't have many options, do you?"
"Actually, I have the perfect option. Your Tech Genus Wonder Magician!"
The familiar winged blade of Monster Reborn burst onto the field in a flash of light, and vanished again with another flash of light, leaving behind a pink-haired spellcaster with wing-blades on her back. (1900 ATK, LV5)
"What are you going to do with that?!? You can't possibly-" Desna stopped as he added up the levels of Vicky's monsters.
"...Aww, F**K!!!"

Ran seems disturbed that he's questions was not answered. He tried to bail but he saw Nova. one of his Teammates. He'll just wait for the ladies answer and quickly asked them,"May I know your decks as well?". Ran saw Simon but tries to hide from him with no reason. Even on Alpha because Ran promised they'll meet on the WRGP again and hided.

Alpha showed his two teammates the device Ran attempted to put on him, crushed into bits. "I've never really trusted the other teams." He said. "No one seems to play fairly." He let go of the pieces and then let them fall onto the ground. "Guys, make sure that no one plants these on you. It's better if no one knows our plans and strategies, otherwise they would use the obtained data to their advantage. In other news, I've decided the team order: First you, Fury, then me, and finally you, Sir. Fury has a powerful deck, so he would be able to knock down the opponents. Then there's me, who's capable to finishing it up, but if I somehow fail, then finally there's you, sir, with your excellent dueling skills, you should be able to wrap the duels up."

Astro grinned as he rode his runner at abnormally fast speeds. "The slipstream still functions properly. I'm hardly running out of power, and the engines not dying on me! This is perfect!" He suddenly dropped out the slip stream to make a call to Simon. His screen flared to life, showing his team leaders face. "I just met a ruler. He uses fabled monsters and can accel synchro. However he cannot delta, so we have the advantage since I can. I'm coming back now..."
Astro did a wheelie, turned 180 degrees and sped back to the building where the party was. While he did that, he checked the rulers leaders bio. "A cheat, sore loser, but always manages to win if he loses?!" Obviously Astro didn't approve.

"I understand", said Fury with despair for Ran not playing fair. He asked permission to roam around. He saw Carly once more but he seems talking to someone. He thought, "Its better not to disturb and continue to roam around.". He then saw someone arriving in a Duel Runner. His abnormally fast as it if was some kind of illegal turbo or something. Fury then asked to the rider, "May I know your name? Your abnormally fast.. Are you using some kind of illegal turbo or supercharger? Oh! forgot to introduce myself, I'm Agent Fury. Its better for you not to know my real name.". Fury then seeks the truth about his abnormal Duel Runner and awaited for an answer.

Simon picked up the call from Astro. More people who can accel synchro, it is rare though i can do it and Astro can do it easily he thought as he began walking outside. He gazed around and saw that the party was coming to a end. People must be leaving to attempt to prepare for tomorrow, it won't help those people in Team Ruler's Simon thought as he went outside to meet Astro. He saw Carly acting extremely different to what she usually does. Oh crap Carly's drunk he thought as he grabbed her hand and pulled her outside. "Come on Carly lets go outside and meet Astro," he said as he helped her get out the door

Ran was completely ignored by the girls he was talking to. So he just walked out as the tournament will start within 16 hrs. He went outside of the backdoor and rode in the front door. He called the two other teammates to departure. He can't take the time and decided to ride back home on his own. But he saw 2 Omegus members, Simon, who he already knew and an unknown lady who is apparently drunk. He decided not to encounter them. And went home to prepare tomorrow as he is battling the Team Omegus. He hoped the his teammates should keep their eyes on the prize and prepare to get that prize.

Alpha's eyes were not on the prize, or the glory of winning the World Racing Grand Prix. They were only on the game, the dueling. Since Desna, the leader of Team Time Fcuk, came first in all of their previous duels, he would probably come first. He had the feeling that Desna would defeat Fury, but Fury should be able to damage him enough. Then it'll be his, Alpha's, turn. He had prepared a strategy specially for Desna, which would defeat him quickly. Then he would face the next two opponents, but he had no information on them, since Desna had fought all the way to the finals by himself. No matter the result, the brute force that pushed its way all the way to the top, Desna, was going down, even if the rest of his team wasn't.

Yoh walked out of the party, since he faintly heard Ran tell his team that it was time to go. "Sorry boss-man. Would've been out here sooner, but I was still chit-chattin' with a few of the other teams." Yoh said with a smile. Now he was totally ready for this tournament to start, that way he could show everyone what he could do. He got on his Silfer the Sky Dragon, looking Duel Runner and started it up. "We just waitin' for Nova to hurry up?? he asked as he put his helmet on, having the helmet's visor go down across his eyes. I still can't believe it...tomorrow is the day. Top 8...and I gotta win...I want those items. That way...I can become a pro duelist and have people respect and adore me. Yoh thought as he looked up at the sky.

Ryan watched the party from behind the bar, where he had been the whole time as that was his day job, or rather night job. He wasn't a pro duelist after all, but just a guy who had been invited to duel in the new World Riding Grand Prix this year by Vicky, the leader of Team Vendetta. After serving another drink to these young duelists, he noticed that the party was starting to pack up and decided that he should shut the bar soon, unless someone wanted a drink in the next few minutes. At the same time, he wondered if anyone would recognise him as the bartender from the party, or if none of them would have any recolection of his face.
