Alex said. The butler smiled. "THe Underground/Underwater Tram will take you back to the basement of the cottage from here. All aboard!" The BUtler yelled as opening a hatch in the ground with a ladder that went into a subway. "Really?" Alex asked. "An underground and Underwater tram? You've got to be kidding me!" Alex said while going down the ladder into the subway. He was boarded in the most comfortable booth in the world with a table in front of him, it wasn't like the subways he saw when he was in New York City. "May I interest you in some Coffee sir?" Said a waitress on the subway. "Bailey's Creamer in Black Coffee please." Alex replied. "Yes sir," she said and returned in 10 seconds flat."Thanks!" Alex said as he sipped his coffee. If she did then she would have to speak to Jaden so he could relay it to the others, and talking to him wasn't something she wanted to do. As it was she couldn't look at him without feeling the need to throw up from how her stomach would turn. So instead she kept her head down and was content with just following the crowd. Sarah was just as confused at the others but shrugged it off, "I guess we'll just have to continue the hike some othertime. It appears that they want you all to go back to to the cottage." He then looked around for Ashley, but couldn't see her. [i]Eh. Must of got bored. I guess I'll just hang with someone else then.[/i] he thought to himself. After looking around at everyone else, he quickly dismissed the idea of hanging out with any of the other guys. They appeared to be a bit...busy. He then noticed the girl everyone called Emily following the crowd with her head down. Brian, trying to be the nice guy, decided to go talk to her. So, he walked over and said, "Hi. They never actually spoke, but she did hear his name before. Emily nodded to his question. [i]Yeah...To be honest I'm quite glad to go back. It hasn't been a very fun trip for me.[/i] Emily signed, and glanced at Jaden before looking at the ground. Maybe Brian was exactly what she needed at the moment. A destraction from Jaden. You're a mute!" he said as it hit him. "Sorry, I don't know sign language. But I do have something that would help!" Brian reached into his pack and pulled out a notepad and a pen. He then handed it to Emily and said, "Sorry, but if you don't mind, could you write what you want to say? I never had a chance to learn sign language." Puzzlement came over her again when he noticed her smile was a little...force. "Are you ok? Anything I can I help with?" he asked politely. She should have had one with her, and this way she could talk to a few more peole. That is if they didn't mind reading it. She grabbed it with a nod for thanks. When he asked if something was wrong she wrote something on the notepad for a while, and after about a minute or two she showed it to him. [b]"It's kind of a long story. Brian read the notes on the notepad and nodded once he was finished. "I'm assuming the forced smile has something to do with you not having fun?" he asked her. "Honestly, I don't mind if it's a long story. I've been told I'm a good listener. Err...I suppose that I would be a good reader in this case." he said with a laugh. "And don't worry, there is plenty of ink in that pen. And, if you want, I can carry your pack for you so you can write easier. It won't be any trouble at all." She wrote something down before showing him the notepad, [b]"Thank you Brian. I'll tell you but it might take me some time two write everything."[/b] After showing him that she flipped to a new page and started writing. It took her about 4 minutes to write everything, and after reading over it to make sure it was to her liking she handed him the notpad to read. [b]"Ok here it is, theres a boy here named Jaden and I think Im starting to like him a lot. But the thing is, is that I dont know if he likes me. And I know for a fact Lucas likes him and both Lucas and Jaden went off into the forest alone last night. Something happened between them, I just know it! And then this morning, the way Jaden looked away from Lucas after seeing Lucas with Daniel/Dylan well...It confirms my suspicion. I dont' know If I even have a chance or if Jaden has made up his mind. It's all just so confusing. You guys could make a giant metal remote controlled trap door in a forest and a subway train under an island, but you couldn't make decent stairs down?!" The stairs were like the ones in sewers. He thought about what he should do since Daniel couldn't step, let alone go down stairs like that. Then he came up with a plan, he let Daniel seated him on a nearby rock. Lucas took out some rope from his bag and wrapped it around his waist, then he wrapped the other half around Daniel's waist. "Ok, you're going down the stairs using only the healthy foot, go down three-four stairs and I'll be a few stairs after you. Remove your foot from the stair you're on and keep holding onto them with your hands, while I lower you by going down, when you're down untie the rope so that I can go down freely. Understood?" She covered her face with the note pad as her shaking increased and now small sounds were escaping her. Seconds later she bursted out laughing dropping the note pad and holding her stomach. She didn't know why that was so funny - in fact it probably wasn't funny at all, but Emily couldn't do anything but laugh. Because if she didn't she would be crying instead. She laughed until her sides hurt and even then she continued. It wasn't until about 2 minutes did she stop laughing and picked up the notepad still giggling a bit. [b]"Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh like that...But I really needed to laugh. And don't worry about doing anything to help me, because you just did. You made me laugh and laughing is the best remidy for just about everything."[/b] Emily smiled and this one was an actual smile, and not the forced one she put on before. Seeing that everyone was heading into the secreat subway thingy, she followed and sat next to Brian. She hadn't spared Jaden a single glance, knowing for sure her suddenly happier mood would instantly be crushed into nothing but depression. [b]"Can I ask you something? Is it a turn off not being able to talk? Being different? I mean, I've had people-boys-come up to me before but as soon as they see I cant talk its like...I'm suddenly different than them. Like we live it two different worlds."[/b] Emily was hesitant to let him read that as she was embarressed for asking that in the first place. "Well I'm glad I'm cheering you up." he said to Emily. He then smiled even more (THINK GIN LOL) after he noticed she was really smiling this time. He climbed down the trap door and helped Emily down and to her seat beside him. He then patiently waited while she wrote on the notepad. When she was finished, he read what she wrote. After he read it he sat there for a second trying to decide how to answer her, then turned to her and smiled. "Am I treating you any different that I would any other person I decided to try to cheer up?" he asked her. "Well, besides handing you a notepad. No offense. Would you perfer to help me down another way or just let me go down?" Daniel smiled knowing how much his pain might actually bring him closet to lucas. In fact most people on this Island have been pretty nice to her - well other than Lucas, though it wasn't because she was a mute, but because of a similar love interest. She turned to Daniel with a smile. [b]"You're right. Guess I was just worrying for nothing. Once she was finished, he took the notepad and read her question. "Well," he said, "I hope they have nothing planned. We have been stuck doing nothing but what they want us to do. I think it's time we relaxed for a bit. Don't you agree?" he asked Emily. He then asked her, "If we do have free time, what are you going to do?" His face easily showed his stress and slight depression, but he was trying hard to keep it hidden. He wasn't paying much attention to the outside world; he was lost in his mind. Jaden's thoughts all raced and he realized that seeing the situation how it was, just bothered him. This was strange because Jaden is not easily bothered. It may be short but that doesn't mean anything.'"[/b] She handed him the notepad and as he read it Emiko couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. She turned her head, and caught Jaden's eye. Emily forced herself not to look away, and almost felt compelled to walk over at the obviously fake smile he gave her. He seemed like something was eating at him; though whether it was because of her obvious avoidance, or Lucas' sudden interest in Danel she didn't know. Either way she didn't return the smile and quickly turned her head forcing back her tears. She didn't say anything but layed her head on Brian's shoulder simply needing a bit of comfort. Lucas was sitting next to the window but he was face the window on the other row, and Daniel was leaning on him facing him with his back. "We're finally going back!" he sounded relieved "I haven't showered for 24 hours! This is torture! When we get back I'm gonna take a nice long shower. He glanced down and saw it was Emily leaning her head on him. At first he was going to gently push her off. He wasn't a big fan of a lot of touching from someone he just met. But, it looked like she needed the comfort, so he forced himself to relax. "I know the feeling." he said to her. "Every time I let my hair grow out, it gets annoying. It curls, it sticks out everywhere, and ends of looking like a rats nest. But most people don't know that because I take forever fixing it when it gets that long." He chuckled to himself. Alex stepped out, "there's a basement here?" He walked out of the subway room and into some library full of books, old and new. "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, War and Peace,The Black Stallion, even Beowulf...that's a lot of classics." Alex said. He then saw a book that was jutting out that said, return to first floor. "Oh I get it, I'll just pull this book and a staircase appears and..." He pulled the book, to find nothing happened. "oh," he said.
