Hmm. I didn't know Alpha Patrokolos had Setsuka's style, interesting.
Yeah... rather difficult to use, much harder than regular Setsuka at that.

I never played SC3.
Eh, I wouldn't worry so much. It's good, but all you're missing out is well... yeah I'd worry. Mission Mode, Night Terror, Abyss, etc. The game was complete ish; just felt more like an arcade game than SCII so your mileage may vary there. Oh and Ragnarok, kindly start posting your own replies rather than questions better suited for PM's. Please?

I haven't really used all the characters yet, but Mitsurugi seems a bit OP.
Mitsurugi is literally no different than he ever was. And the reason why the ranges changed? Because unblockables can be chained into with A LOT of characters.

Please, his fighting style changed from SC2 to 3
Don't use antagonizing statements with me. And he doesn't feel like he changed since his original incarnation in Soul Blade, his methodology hasn't changed a drop since the game series started. Except maybe that now you use running attacks a lot less? But that's not enough to qualify for a change. If that's the case then Rock/Astaroth, Taki, etc all changed a lot. But they haven't. Hell, even Siegfried hasnt changed much, just traded one for the other but the motions still feel natural as day one.

Thus, the reason why Mitsurugi seems OP: people's ranges were nerfed, his wasn't. And his range is better than a lot of other characters, and still pretty fast.

Mainly Setsuka and Talim. They were my two best characters.
EDIT: Here are the people that were in SC4 that are gone from SC5:

Star Wars characters (obviously) Unnecessary Guests.
Setsuka A Patroklos is essentially her clone, but hes a bit more complicated to use.
Talim Miss her, she was one of the few I was sure would be here. Kinda sad.
Yun-Seong Like Talim. Plus, he was one of my better characters.
Seong-Mi Na Felt too much like a Kilik clone. She was a bit different, but too similar.
Zesalamel He is immortal and cannot age, so I am very surprised hes not here. He was also one of my better characters.
Sophitia Apparently she is Elysium, but either way Pyrrha seems to have taken over for her pretty well.
Cassandra Pyrrha is kinda similar to her too. Both Pyrrhas are based off the Alexandra sisters.
Rock I hated playing against him, but without him, there is no more ground domination.
Xianghua Leixia is her daughter and fights a lot like her
Amy Sad shes gone. She was great.
Taki Natsu is basically a more teleporty clone of her. Natsu filled in her spot pretty well though.
My opinions

with Seong Mina it was VERY different from playing Kilik. THey changed her moves a bit in SC4 and I REALLY sucked with her there
I never used her in IV. I figured she was the same as in the others, just a slightly different Kilik clone. I have two complaints in this game and that is
1) The fact that Sigfried, veteran of tons of battles, mercenary, and badass 40 year old, lacks a beard.
2) Guard impacting is way too different. I preferred the directional button plus guard method.
