Well, I've had an idea for a new, really hard version of Pokemon Emerald version. It has every Pokemon from Gen. I-III, upgraded gym leaders and elite four, as well as new rival battles. But, I need some help.
Spriters
Scripters
Mappers
Assistant Storyboarders
Yeah, erm, if you can't script, I don't recommend trying to make a game hack -- an appreciation of the difficulties of scripting helps keep you from getting too ambitious, if nothing else. For one thing, do you know what adding all those Pokémon will entail? Do you understand why you don't need spriters to accomplish the aforementioned goals -- and actually need a much more headache-inducing process? Do you realize that dozens, if not hundreds, of other people have had this same idea and wound up creating abysmal games doomed to obscurity? On that note, what exactly separates this from every other "the-same-only-hard-enough-to-kill-CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALS!" hack in the universe?

Better to be told this now than after you've made other people put in the work, methinks.

The only reson I can't script is because A-text doesn't work on my computer. And no I haven't realized any of that...

WELL HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET ANY HELPERS IF YOU DON'T SET THE GAME APART FROM OTHER HACKS. >_> What we see here is a dime-a-dozen "SUPER MODE GRIND FOREVER LOLOLOLOLOL" hack, and I, for one, don't see nay reason to associate with it.

A good example of what I mean is Touhoumon -- it's Pokémon with Touhou characters in doll form rather than actual Pokémon. That's already separated quite radically from the main games. It itself got a bunch of dime-a-dozen variants -- Lunatic (SUPER MODE GRIND FOREVER LOLOLOLOLOL), Aqua (now the main edition; a balance fix, I believe), Johto Region (LET'S ADD ANOTHER REGION LOLOLOLOLOL), Last Word and Darkness (adds Last Word and Darkness variants of the Touhoumon).

But EVEN IT managed to get some really original hacks in and of itself -- and I'm not asking for Touhoumon Gensokyo edition when I say "original," either (Touhoumon Gensokyo added an actual story set in Gensokyo, which operated using a very different quest-based structure than the usual Pokémon -- I ADORE IT, though there's no English patch).

Great Hakurei Barrier added a Subterranean Animism-based dungeon. It's not especially ambitious, but it's high-quality and original. If you can even do something like that, adding a new storyline, area, dungeon... Anything to set it apart gameplay-wise, something that should be mentioned in the description. That's what's going to draw in hackers to help you.

If there's a new storyline, say so! Spoilers aren't that important that you need to pretend the entire plotline doesn't exist! I might not want to say that
Snape killed Dumbledore
, or even that
the Death Eaters besiege Hogwarts
, but I can at least mention the tension brewing in the Wizarding world and Voldemort's return to power! I omit the story to my game, true, but a) I'm not asking for help, B) the plot is irrelevant in the segment of the game I planned from the beginning to use as the demo, c) I at least acknowledge its existence -- and acknowledging it alone or merely setting it up could easily be enough to attract assistance, and d) I have a gameplay change to set it apart from others, which sets it apart from other Danmakufu creations in and on itself (I've never seen a dungeon crawler/bullet hell game before).

And if your change isn't a spoiler, WHY AREN'T YOU POSTING IT. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. I don't see anything original here, so I'm not inclined to help.
