Eberyone, thought you might like to see my attempt at the Newspaper last Aughust some of you may remember. It is a shame I got banned before. BTW this wasn't finished or edited so.

 

This is the first newspaper of August, (Hoping to release another at the end of the month) and all of our workers have put a lot of effort into making this so please give them some credit...

Well here we are, the (I Hope) long anticipated Newspaper. Firstly I would like to say Thank you to whoever is reading this and I hope you will enjoy our first Newspaper as we have spent a long time trying to put this together. Secondly if you would like to either enter one of our Riddles Competitions, apply for the Advertisement or Request next issues game or card reviews there will be a small Application at the end of those pages for you to apply for. New YCM!

 

This has to be the main topic of our first newspaper this year. Nobody new that when YCM went down for a few days that there was going to a completely New YCM, well most people hated it to begin with and I think that had something to do with not liking change. But now that people have got used to t they seem to like it a lot more. But there is still a long way to go before we can actually call YCM instead of The New YCM. There are any new good things that have happened such as the Facebook Friends thingy and the new improved Pm section, but there are a lot more Bad things:

And many more but the thing is we need to get over it and look towards the future as there is no turning back now…

 

Contests

 

After A long hard deliberation over how many Mod based Contests there were there a plenty more of those now, Icy, Phantom Roxas, Hunter and many other Mods have all made more contests that we are all enjoying, but the main question of this Article is whether there should be a sort of YCM Cup or League…Let Me Explain.

 

A Mod Holds a Contest every 2 Moths the winners get ranking points. Every Mod contest gives away these ranking points and adds them to the total of the last contests before, so that we may have an overall winner at the end of the year.

Wild Fires Scourge Russia

 

In Kadanok, Russia; reports say multiple wildfires burn over the highlands of forests in Russia, causing mass damage, that not even firefighters cannot put out. This outburst of fire has burned over a dozen of Russia's provinces, destroying homes and forests with it. The citizens admit it has been out of control recently. The firefighters who did their best to put out the fire and save people, have brought an effort

to save over 300 towns and villages. 40 people have perished in the flames, and over 2000 homes in an instant, making families lose their homes. The cause of this disaster has been due to drafts of humidity and the heat that has been scorching this summer, at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Prime Minster Vladimir Putin says, from the fire, says the compensation in fixing all that has been damaged, is 200.00 rubles, or $6700 in U.S cash. It was a nightmare," said Margarita Sholokhov, pacing forlornly near the remains of her home in the village of Kadanok, 90 miles southeast of Moscow.” There were too many fires and not enough firefighters. We stayed in our house until the last possible minute, but the fire came and covered the whole village like a hat," she said. Reports say that trenches will be made an trees will be cleared.

 

 

UFO memos and reports identified since the 90's

In London, United Kingdom; Britain decides to join together secret UFO encounters, that were found and ordered in a 50-year cover-up around the World War 2 time, between a UFO and a military pilot. These files or memos were written during these war times and were sketched, and documented, brief notes, and studied. One in 1999, a Royal Air Force plane returning from a mission confronts a mysterious UFO. The anonymous person making this letter wants to keep it a secret. However, there were no other same or recorded files. One in 1997 stated sonic booms have been heard and felt, around a mysterious plane crash in England. Others say "a black triangular like UFO figure", in the 1990s that loomed over some homes, but there was no sign of any abductions or any other problems. In 1995, a memo says a pilot sees and misses over a weird flying object, described

as "20 times larger than a football field". Since these times, there was no such proof.

 

 

School murder links to other children murders

Beijing, China; a man kills 3 children by going towards a kindergarten class. Only using a knife, killed children and wounded several others. People say this could be let to links to some familiar family deaths and murders. It took a day to reveal all this information, and later raised questions in China, about random murders and deaths. This had linked to a man in his 20's who started killing victims near a school when children and to go home, with a 2-foot-long knife. There were also conflicts of whether a teacher died in it or not. 3 more children and 4 more teachers were wounded, and only 1 died. The man fled the scene, government officers in China are trying to track these copycat murder attempts, but had no idea since there was no uncertainty they were linked. "I would be lying if I said I'm not panicked," she said. "I worry a lot in my heart. But we have two full-time security guards and two part-time security guards. Besides that, our kindergarten has already installed advanced alarm system and cameras. We have three locked gates to cross to enter our kindergarten." Today, classes are armed with security and alarms. However, most of these fail. An unemployed man that was 47, struck children with a hammer, injuring 28 children in the Weifang Province. Others said the killings pointed to a problem of people feeling resentment toward society, because of perceived economic unfairness or the pressure of authoritarian control, and they are responding by lashing out, often at innocent victims.

 

Fake Plane Accident Fools many

Harare, Zimbabwe; a plane crash in Zimbabwe crashes on the runway, and bursts into flames. Later on, it was realized it was all a fake. Airport authorities say it was all fake, using real tactics and modems to make it seem real, yet scaring the public. This practice has been used in other places around the place, saying it's good to practice emergency plane crashes in case of emergencies. "Emergency drills are all well and good as part of regular safety procedures and operational awareness in the event of the real thing, but there is a danger of a 'cry wolf' syndrome if emergency drills are repeatedly confused with 'real-life' events," said Neil MacKinnon, global macro strategist at VTB Capital. This has even scared the local economy into airport safety and costs, as well as disrupted most places, and even called out nurses and doctors. Several other countries tuned into this, and even online, but after telling, it was all a misunderstanding. "You must think about the human consequences, but also those for the media," he said. "This further discredits journalists, and encourages those who say journalists only flap their gums."

When a level 4 or lower non-Plant-Type monster your opponent controls declares an attack or activates its effect, you can Tribute 1 Plant-Type monster you control to negate the attack or effect and destroy the monster. Place the destroyed monster as a Nutrition Counter on this card (max. 3). During your Standby Phase, you can remove this card from play to increase the ATK and DEF of all Plant-Type monsters you control by 500 x the number of Nutrition Counters on this card until the End Phase, the attack of Plant-Type monsters this turn cannot be negated.

 

FFR’s Thoughts: This card was the first good one I looked at when I was exploring the Realistic Cards Forum one day. I like the functionality of the card and if I had a plant type deck I could see myself using this very card. Although the creator of this card, Galadrien, needed just the right comment to perfect the card; I feel like the card came out with a good balance and the picture used to portrait the card was picked out well. I must also comment on the cards originality for I haven’t seen a good plant-based trap card using counters on this site for awhile.

When this card is summoned, place 1 Lightning Counter on this card for every Winged-Beast monster on the field. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Lightning Counter from this card and place it on 1 Winged-Beast monster your opponent controls. A Winged-Beast monster with a Lightning Counter has its ATK decreased by 700 and is destroyed when your opponent activates a Spell card.

 

FFR’s Thoughts: This card was a good example of originality and good balance. The effect isn’t to overpowered seeing as it can only acquire counters once AND it can only place one of its counters on a single winged-beast monster at a time. The name of this card and the picture coincide perfectly and if there is a thunder deck actually out there somewhere I’m sure this card would be wanted. Another good reason for liking this card is that I personally hate black wings >.>.

Zombie Master. The card that brought Zombies back from their Grave (cwutididthar). Other than being an strong attacker for the early stages of the game, this card can, and usually, will, lead to many unhindered dominations. ZM, along with cards like Il Blud and Doomkaiser Dragon, is a Swarmer; a monster which gets other monsters out onto the field quickly. ZM allows you to, at the cost of a Monster Card from your hand, Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Zombie monster from EITHER PLAYER'S GRAVEYARD. Meaning, with the possibility Zombie World, you have the potential to bring back game-changing monsters. Heck, you can even bring back the monster you discarded. A good use of this effect is to send a Zombie Master in your hand to the Graveyard, then Special Summon it, to get the effect again, as ZM's effect, sadly but fairly, only allows it once per turn. And if Summoned by Il Blud, you get the same, if sightly watered down and costed, effect again. You could Special Summon a Plaguespreader Zombie to Synchro monsters, possibly including the ZM, for great, game-winning cards like Brionac, Goyo Guardian and one of the Plague Synchros, namely Doomkaiser Dragon and Revived King Ha Des. Hell, Zombie Master is even used as Anti-Zombie, due to it's ability to Special Summon from your opponent's Graveyard, which, if facing a Zombie Duelist, is bound to be filled with cards like Plaguespreader, Spirit Reaper, and Pyramid Turtle, which can potentially Summon another Master.

 

 

There are, of course, some problems. The fact that it's got 0 DEF means that defending with this guy is a really dumb idea, especially when faced with the threat of Piercers. And the cost of having to send a monster can be bad in some cases, as well as the restriction of only being able to Summon a Level 4 or lower monster. It's probably best to use this guy in the early part of the game, or near the end, to assure victory

 

All in all, a highly versatile card. And one of many which gave Zombies their life back (lolpuns).

So basically, this whole new newspaper has been released. It’s been done before (unsuccessfully) and now someone else is trying to convert this hopeless idea into something that could work. I say bullshit. The chances of this lasting more than five issues is about equivalent to that of Barack Obama legalizing weed, or Our Dear Leader Kim Jong-Il saying “Can’t we all be friends?” to the President of ‘The Evil Puppet Nation Of Evil’, otherwise known as South Korea. So the idea is that several different sections are posted in this ‘newspaper’ (which isn’t actually a newspaper as it is online). These sections are simple stuff like Global News, Sports and Advertising. This is met with several flaws. The main flaw is that asking a group mainly made up of tweens to constantly churn out articles isn’t going to work. It might do if they were carefully extracted from a large group of clearly able-minded children by a panel of experienced journalists, but the fact that they were all recruited by personal application from a site based around a Children’s Card Game (that did I mention is played more often by adults than children, fair game?) means that this idea is going to fail in the most spectacular fashion, the kind of failure that can only be expressed by a picture of a cat falling off something while a giant word reads beneath such image “FAIL!” That, my friends, is when you know that organizing a newspaper is best left to the professionals.

The detail and color is amazing, as is the feel when looking at this piece.

Artist NickLD has stated that this took about 10 hours to finish, but the time invested was really worth it.

It is a pleasure to look at. In my opinion the cloth and weapon detail stand out by design, however anything else is by no means bad.

The face is quite cartoonish, and too straightforward, but it does fit in nicely.

All in all, this piece is an accomplished project, and it is amazing."

The Halo series (Halo: Cambat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: ODST and Halo Wars) has been a favourite among X-Box / X-Box 360 owners. The first person shooter revolves around the war between the Humans and the Covenant, which are a series of alien races. The upcoming game "Halo Reach" has been available as a beta for players who purchased "Halo ODST" and the YCM Newspaper does it's best to give you an up to date preview of what is to come.

 

 

Players take the role of an unnamed new addition to the team Noble, identified by the call sign Noble 6. Noble Team's leader is Carter-A259, a no-nonsense soldier. His second-in-command, Kat-B320, has a bionic arm and together Carter and Kat are the only two remaining original members of Noble Team. The other members include heavy weapons specialist Jorge-052, Emile-A239, and marksman named Jun-A266. The main story is set in the year 2552 shortly before the events of the 2001 video game Halo: Combat Evolved. Reach itself is an Earth like planet that serves as the UNSC's (United Nation's Space Command) main military hub. In addition to the military hub, the colony is home to over 700 million humans.

 

The multiplayer consists or Call of Duty Style class selection, though they are premade and user custom classes are yet to be declared. After class selection you take part in many multiplayer game modes such as the classic Death match and Team Death match but the most updated game mode is Bone yard. This consists of 2 teams who attempt to complete objectives, one team being the defence team and the other being attack. The more successful your team is in completing these objectives decide on what Classes you can choose from, becoming more advanced. When a match is finished you are rewarded credits, in which you can spend on pieces of armour you can equip and change the colour of.

 

 

In conclusion this seems a fun continuation of the h Halo series which I would advise to purchase it.

The Western Hunter

Prologue:

 

The man was on top of a massive, yet elegant horse. He wore a hat that covered his face from the light, and a bandana, covering his face.

This man, once a decorated American Army Sergeant, is now chasing criminals, hunting, and helping the local New Austin people for money. He was betrayed, during a mission in New Austin.

*1908*

The Mexican Army were gunning down a small town situated near the Flat Iron Lake. The town which is now in rubble was a place of trading, healthy people and of course, drunks. This man was aiding the Army, defending the town from suicidal bombers. The Americans stood on top of buildings, inside of saloons, and behind carriages. As they tried to push the Mexicans. But as they tried, the Americans were falling like flies. Until this man was the last. He quickly hid behind a board of wood on top of a Saloon, looking around at the dead bodies.

The Mexicans soon thought everyone was dead, until 100 Americans arrived on horse-back from the West. They fired what they had – cannons- and threw dynamite over the buildings, until they fled. Some of the Calvary chased them down, as the General of the Americans walked into the town, shouting to see if anyone was left. The man quickly jumped off the building and landed on the ground. He stood up with his Repeater, and appointed himself to the General. The Americans thought he was a coward for hiding from the Mexicans, and quickly aimed their rifles and repeaters at him. The General approached him and kicked him down, with his fat legs. The man was only 24 at the time and did not wish to die, even for his country. The general spat on the man, before pulling out his Volcanic Pistol and firing it at the man’s chest. The general then walked off, seeing the move-less body. He ordered 2 soldiers to throw out his body near Black Water, to think he was killed by bandits. They nodded, before one going near the man’s arms and the other at his legs. They lifted him on the count of 3 and carried him to the back of a carriage. They both climbed onto the front wheel, then onto a small step, to get to the front seat. The driver whipped the horses before going of the town in the direction of Black Water.

*1911*

The man entered the small town of Armadillo, looking to see if any Army soldiers were around. As he approached the saloon, he hitched is horse to a small hitching post, before getting off the beast. He took his bandana off, and put it into his small satchel. Before he could walk into the saloon, he was approached by a man who aimed a gun at his gut.

“C’mon you fat pig. You ain’t scared of a little duel?” He smirked before showing where the man had to stand. “Ok, But don’t think you will get lucky.”

The man approached the place where he had to stand. Before they could start shooting, the Town Marshall came running out with the deputies with their guns un-holstered.

“Put your gun’s down now!” The Marshall demanded. One of the deputies spat in front of the man and the other deputies shot at the challenger. The Marshall shouted once again, “Don’t make me drag your bodies out to the coyotes after I kill you. I don’t want no more duels in this here town!” The man looked at the Marshall with a grin.

“This man tried to kill me. I am just repaying the favour...and don’t worry about draggin’ bodies. You can have him alive after Iam done with him.”

The Marshall thought about it, before holstering his gun. “Just this once.” He looked at the deputies, before telling them to go back to the Office.

“Go on back to the office. I want to see this.” The deputies looked at each over, before holstering their weapons as well.

“Ok sir.” One looked at the man with a pissed-off look. The other just looked at the Marshall, before walking back with the other deputy.

“Well, hurry it up now Mr...?”

“Woods. Elijah Woods.”

“Well Mr. Woods. I suggest you hurry up before I change my mind.” He gave a weak smile before stepping back.

Elijah stared into the eyes of the other man. After 5 seconds, Elijah drew his Cattle-man revolver and quickly set his eyes on the man’s right hand. The man drew his weapon before setting his aim on Elijah’s head. Before he could shoot, Elijah fired one round into his weapon arm. Disarming him. Quickly, the Marshall aimed his Revolver at the man and told him to walk off his cell.

“Well thank-you Mr. Woods. I think he was the legendary Dwight Stagg. He owns a gang, but I doubt they will see him again.”

Elijah holstered his Revolver, before turning towards the Marshall.

“He attacked me for no reason. Find that out if you can.”

The Marshall Nodded.

“Mr. Woods, Please call me Bill. If your ever bored drop, down by my Office. I might be able to pay you well as well. “

“Well, I might do that. I really have nothing to do at this moment, but I would like to stay here for the night. Do you know any cheap places I could buy or rent?”

“Hmm... Try the saloon. They should have a spare room.”

“Thank you, well, I better be on my way.”

The Marshall nodded, before heading off to the Office of his.

Elijah headed off to the saloon, seeing the train arrive at the train station.

“Ha, I guess more suits might be looking for people to do their dirty work.”

Elijah grinned before entering the saloon. Just as he entered a man was thrown through one of the doors with 2 men, holding whisky, chasing him. As Elijah looked around he saw a man, looking drunk, playing the piano. As he walked in, he approached the bar.

“Excuse me sir.” A man approached the other side of the bar, cleaning a class with a dirty cloth. “You wouldn’t have a spare room for sale?”

The bartender looked at a small board, saying what rooms were taken. He grabbed a key under a label saying: “3; One bed, I container, Side table, oil lamp, Cupboard.”

He turned around and walked over to Elijah. “Well, we got one room left. $10 to rent, or $70 to buy.”

Elijah looked in his satchel, seeing if he had any money left. He moved his ammo around until he found a few green notes.

“Hope this is enough.” He handed the bartender the money, as he did, the bartender gave him the key.

“Go up the stairs, 3rd door from there.”

Elijah nodded, “Thank you Sir.”

He took the key and left the bar, going towards the stairs. Ladies wearing corsets approached him. One wearing Pink touched his arm,

“Want a good night?”Elijah moved her hand away, before stepping through the crowd of girls.

“Sorry, I don’t feel like it tonight.”

 

They looked angry before they started cursing at him. He did not listen as he walked up the stairs, to his room. As he went past one room, he heard a women moaning and a man speaking another language. Elijah laughed before giving off a small smile. He continued to walk to his room just 2 rooms down. When he stepped in front of his room, another man was thrown from the room 2 doors down. Then a quite large women exited the room, yelling in Spanish.

Elijah smiled again, as the large women ran down the stairs, grabbing the man and slapping him.

Elijah inserted the key into the door handle and turned the key. The door opened revealing the bed, Bed-side table and a cupboard. He entered the room, giving a weak kick o the door, forcing it to close. Elijah looked around before taking off his Satchel and placing it next to the bed. He then took his hat off, placing it on the table, before taking off his holsters. He placed them down next to the bed, on the floor. Before lying down on the bed.

“Well, let’s hope no one tries to kill me in my sleep.” He said to himself, before closing his eyes, slowly and gradually falling asleep.

Suggestion: Change all fonts but the one you used for Magazine de la YCM to something easier to read.

And we can add the names of people in the first page, as is usually done, along with their avis, and a tiny note by each person about this new month's Magazine

 

 

After the index, of course.
