The sky glistened with a beautiful orange purple hue. The town was quiet as night approaches. Tomorrow would be the beginning of a new school year for the students attending Kurusawa High School, and as with most students, Shinji Kimura would be at home, preparing his things for tomorrow. However, Shinji wasn't like most students. On Kirafune Street, Shinji was face-to-face with two young men, appearing to be in their late teens. "Hehe, so you're Shinji Kimura ehh?" one of the young men asked. The one who had just spoken was tall. He was wearing a school uniform, much like the one Shinji possesses but with a different school logo. He had black, chin-length hair that was styled back with gel. He was quite muscular unlike the second young man who seemed to be of less muscular build with short black hair that was spiked at the front. Like the first young man, he too was wearing the same school uniform. "Yeah I am, and what's it to ya?" Shinji replied. His voice sounded annoyed with a hint of cockiness and readiness to fight. "Heh! So you're the guy-" the shorter, less muscular young man uttered with a cocky smile before being interrupted by Shinji. "Lemme guess. You two are the higher-ups of a local school gang whose members I beat up, and now to protect you and your members' pride and to get revenge, you two want to fight me and hopefully beat me up. Did I miss anything?" Shinji asked with a cocky smirk. "Arrg, why you punk-" the second young man snarled and looked as if he was about to lunge at Shinji only to be stopped by the first young man who held his right arm out in front of the second young man. "Iwao... No need to get wilded up. You'll get your chance to wipe the smirk off this kid's face real soon." the first young man said to Iwao loud enough so that only Iwao could here. Shinji starred at the two young men, becoming irritated because of the lack of action. "Hey boneheads, how about you stop wasting my time and get down to business, or try to be smart for a change and step out of my way." Shinji suggested. "Hehe, tough talk from a kid. Well anyways, we heard that you've got quite the right jab. We want to test out that theory for ourselves hehe." the first young man stated with an intimidating smirk. However, Shinji wasn't phased, in fact, Shinji formed a smirk of his own after hearing that. "Alright, we can finally get down to business huh? Okay then, so which one of you ladies would like to go first?" Shinji asked insultingly. This only made Iwao even angrier, enough to charge at Shinji without thinking. "Arrg, you're dead punk! Take this!" Nearing Shinji, Iwao threw a hard punch towards Shinji. However, Shinji stopped the punch with one hand, his left hand. "Boy, you're punches are softer than my little sister's punches. Are you really trying? 'Cause if you are then this is really pathetic. Here, lemme show you a real punch." Shinji calmly said with a cocky smirk as he folds his right hand into a fist and bent his right arm back. Iwao only stood there, petrified by the fact that his punch was stopped by one hand. Beads of nervous sweat can be seen on Iwao's forehead and on the side of his face. "Alright, here we go! Hah!" Shinji shouted as he threw a really hard punch straight into Iwao's stomach. The impact of the punch was quite devastating, enough to send Iwao flying back towards the first young man's feet. The first young man stood there, also petrified because he had just witnessed his friend being knocked back quite a distance just because of one punch. "Hey pretty boy, you're up next." Shinji said calmly, getting into a fighting stance. The first young man quickly regained his composure and ran towards Shinji as well, readying his right fist for a punch. As he neared Shinji, he began throwing a slew of punches towards Shinji, who easily evaded every single one of them, and finally countered with a kick that sent the young man flying back but not down. The young man breathed heavily as he covered the area he was kicked with his left hand. "Why you-" the young man began to speak however he was interrupted by Shinji. "Well if this is how well you can fight you might wanna lie down as well instead of getting beat up by me. But I will give you this, you did at least try to land more than one punch." Shinji stated. "I'm getting sick and tired of your damn mouth. Iwao! Get the shinai out now!" the young man shouted angrily. "R-Right!" Iwao hesitated before getting up and running towards his large bag to get two shinai out and give one to the first young man. "Really? How pathetic, you have to resort to those little wooden play things just to try and fight me? How about you go home now and avoid getting beat up?" Shinji suggested. "Arrg, try saying that once I beat you with this!" the first young man shouted in response as he charged at Shinji with the shinai along with Iwao. As they neared Shinji once more, Iwao was the first to swing his shinai towards Shinji, though Shinji easily avoid it while stepping back. The two continued their assault relentlessly, swing after swing, however to no avail. Shinji is an expert when it comes to fighting. Shinji then quickly side kicked Iwao in the chest, breaking through the shinai Iwao was using to defend himself as well and sending him flying towards a light pole thus rendering him unconscious. Seeing this, the first young man became quite scared and stopped attacking, keeping his shinai in front of him for protection even though Shinji has proven that the shinai wouldn't help. "Alright, now it's your time." Shinji proclaimed. The young man turned his head to face Shinji, scared and nervous. "P-Please, not the face." the young man pleaded. However, it was of no use as Shinji aimed a right-hand punch straight for the young man's left cheek. The punch broke through the shinai and connected with the young man's face. The force of the punch sent the man flying towards the same light pole and knocking him unconscious as well, leaving Shinji, the winner. "Humph, pathetic..." Shinji said as he walked off towards his house. Arriving at his house, Shinji opened the door finding the living room empty as usual. "Dad, Midori, I'm home!" Shinji exclaimed, making sure that wherever they are in the house they would here it. Shinji closed the door and walked towards the stairs. However, Shinji was stopped when he heard a familiar voice descending. "SURPRISE!" the voice bellowed. "GAH!" Shinji shouted as he looked up to see a scary sight. It was his little sister, Midori, descending towards Shinji with an axe kick. Midori's axe kick then collided with Shinji, forcing both to the ground and kicking a dust cloud into the air from the comical collision. The dust then cleared and Shinji stood up off the ground holding his sister by the back of her sweater. An extremely irritated and angry expression shown on his face as well as a vein on his forehead. "What the hell is the matter with you Midori?! This is the third time already that you pulled this stunt!" Shinji yelled. "Jeez no need to yell. If you can't defend against a surprise attack then what chance do you have going against experts in a tournament?" Midori replied. "Arrg, that was called a sneak attack, and I won't have any problems in the tournament, now stop trying to pull sneak attacks on me, got it?!" Shinji exclaimed. "Humph, fine..." Midori reluctantly agreed. Shinji then set Midori down and she skipped away. "Oh Shinji, welcome home. I'm just preparing supper. Do you want to eat anything special today?" Shinji's dad asked. "No, it's alright. If you need me, I'll be up in my room." Shinji stated. "Oh Shinji, I almost forgot. There's a package for you in your room, it's from Grandpa." Shinji's dad stated. "A package from Gramps? Great, thanks..." Shinji replied unenthusiastically. Shinji walked into his room upstairs and closed the door. Shinji then noticed the mentioned package on his desk. "Great, probably another one of Gramp's gag gifts..." Shinji proclaimed with a skeptical expression. Shinji then proceeded to open the package and quickly stepped back, shielding his face. A few seconds passed with nothing happening. Shinji then let down his guard, confused by the situation. "What? No explosion? No flying frogs? No nothing? Something's wrong here... Wonder what's in here." Shinji said as he cautiously neared his desk. Shinji then proceeded to look inside and was quite surprised by what he saw. It was just a simple silver bracelet and a note. "Is that really it?" Shinji asked, still a bit on the defensive. Shinji then picked up the note and began reading it. "Dear Shinji, this bracelet is a very important item. An heirloom to the Kimura family name. It must be protected with great care. There's not much I can explain on paper, but trust me when I say to put it on and keep it on. Once the time is right, you will learn about the true meaning of this bracelet and our family name. Love, Grandpa." After reading, Shinji set the note down and picked up the bracelet. "Alright Gramps, what kinda game are you playing at now?" Shinji asked, looking skeptically at the bracelet. The bracelet then seemed to radiate a brilliant shine. "Huh, this bracelet's actually not half bad looking. Well, maybe I will wear it." Shinji said as he placed the bracelet onto his right wrist. Shinji didn't want to investigate further about the note and decided to just spend the rest of the evening normally. However, Shinji decided to eat dinner in his room that night without showing his dad or his little sister the bracelet. The next morning, Shinji prepared for the new school year and left quickly for school. Arriving at school and at Mr. Takizawa's English class, Shinji took a seat near the window as he always does with almost every class he got. It was a new school year which is bound with new adventures for Shinji Kimura... ((Okay, so I know that's a lot of reading, but some of it is not really all that important so just skim. If any of you don't know what to do for an opening post, just PM me.))
Hotaru987
A soft voice filled the candle lit room of the small room the figure was in. Even though the words were not understandible it was obvious that this figure was chanting. The shadow of the sitting figure dancing about, just like the flickering flames around them. Upon closer inspection long black hair was seen, however it was pulled into a high pony tail, and the clothing of what seemed to be a Miko was being worn. The person, who was obviously a female, was Minawe Kanigawa. The only child born to Kamira, and Cho-hi Kanigawa. Sweat trickled down her brow, to her cheak until it fell onto her claded shoulder. The already dimly lit room seamed to turn even darker as a cold wind suddenly began to swirl around her. Even still Minawe's eyes remained closed and she did not stop her chanting. The wind was becoming more prominant, as not her hair and clothing was starting to move. The flames on the candles danced more, almost on the verge of going out. As the wind got strong, Minawe's chanting increased in vigor when suddenly- "AHHH!!!" Minawe shouted and lunged backwards. The flames on the candles went out, and darkness suddenly filled the room. The only thing that could be heard was Minawe's heavy panting. She quickly tried to collect herself and sat with her legs under her. She did not expect to see that...That vision or whatever it was. "I do not know whether this power is a gift or a curse." She whispered to herslef in the darkness. Being able to see such terrible images would be enough to have any person go crazy. With a sigh she stood and exited the Shrine. The next day she dressed, and grabbed the bag to head out to school. Hopefully today she would be spared the task of fighting. She almost laughed-yeah right. She hadn't had a break since she first started. Minawe made sure her necklace was on, before leaving the house and heading towards school. Like always she didn't speak to anyone, and quickly and silently sat in her seat; by the window and two seats up from the back. Ooc: I made sure the whole vision thing was vague. GreyCat
A shiny new chain was loped around and through the grill work. Keith shook the gate again. It was definately locked.Another challenge from those two.Judging from look of the chains wrapped securely around the bars and the new locks holding them in place, they were good ones. He pulled his lock pick from his wristband. It was a good challenge. It took him a good 43 and a half seconds to pick all eight locks. He signed and slipped the chains aside and pushed the gate open. "Another game Keith?" a voice called warmly. "Yes Aunt Sarubi," he answered as one of the neighbours passed on her shopping trip. Him picking the locks to his own house was well known on the street and they often called him instead of the locksmith. The gate passed, he fumbled for his key. And fell through a trap door hidden under the welcome mat. He yell was cut off after the short fall. Above him, the door swung back and shut with a click. And the wall started closing. Just how long were they working on this? He grabbed a penlight and searched for a seam. twenty two seconds had him falling into the basement. "Well done!" Matsuda congratulated. "You are a near master escapologist!" Matsuda clapped happily. He lead Keith by the shoulders towards the stairs. "Tonight, we have red rice to celebrate!" "You do realize you have to fix that traphole thing before mom and dad get back?" "Tomorrow, I'll buy you a new telescope as a reward!" Karmen said thoughtfully. "The store recently got a new model. The reviews say it's rather good." "You two are crazy," Keith grinned. Still buzzing from the party they had last night, Keith hurried (by hurried he means left through the window instead of picking locks and performing illusions good enough to please his guardians) to school. He nodded at the students in the room. He dropped his bag on his desk and pulled a handful of floor buds from a side pocket. Time to try defrost the ice queen. He placed the buds on Minawe's desk. "Good morning Kanigawa. Want to see my lastest magic trick?"
Hotaru987
Minawe cut purple eyes towards the male that decided to approach her. She noticed with disdain that it was Kieth Kagetsu-Lucine, a self proclaimed magician and an almost frighteningly amazing knack for picking locks. He held only mild intrest to Minawe - but it was still that miniscule intrest that stopped her from completely ignoring him. The only reason was because he was a holder of a Yuishoko like her, which she found out due to her "Soul Sight" ability granted to her by her own Yuishoko. "Good morning Lucine-san." Was all she said to him before looking out of the window. It would be best if he took the hint and just left, but she had a feeling that he would be showing her this "trick" to her anyway. She gave a quick glance at the buds dropped onto her desk and almost scowled, but kepted her face neutral with practiced ease. She didn't have time for petty tricks like he did. She had too many things to worry about, and if he was truly a keeper like she was, then these parlor tricks would be a waste of time.
GreyCat
Keith made a pained expression. "Again with the scorn," he groaned. "You have no respect for the art of magic." He pulled his ever present wand from his sleeve. He had long since stop questioning where it came from. He once got a replacement and threw it from the roof. When he checked his bag, the old wand was were the replacement was supposed to be and in the bushes outside, he found the replacement. Snapped in two. He never tried to get rid of it again. And once he found out about the hat, lets just say he feared what would happen to his well being. "Snub me all you want, but this trick will impress you, I promise!" He tapped the desk three times with the wand, forming a triangle around the pile of buds. He showed her his empty palms, made a fist, the opened it to reveal a glittery powder. He smiled and sprinkled it over the buds and they shone like sparkles. As they fell, the buds started to blossom into full fledged flowers until their was a pile of assorted flower heads on her desk. .:Blu:.
((To allow everybody to get their morning post in, I'll be posting some other non-main story-stuff)) Shinji sat at his desk, being quiet and bored as usual. Shinji looked out of the window to notice the abundance of students arriving to Kurusawa High School. "(Oh man... I can already see some idiots looking for trouble... Sooner or later they'll be picking fights with people, and soon enough, it will be me who will have to knock some sense into them... *Sigh* Just another typical year at Kurusawa...)" Shinji unenthusiastically thought to himself. Shinji turned his body to look at the door and noticed more people arriving into the room. The ones who were already in the room are just mingling with their classmates and friends awaiting for the arrival of the teacher. Suddenly, a loud and familiar voice caught Shinji's attention. It was Shinji's friend since middle school, Haru Kichida. Haru is a young man with short brown hair who, to Shinji, can be really irritating at times. "Yo Shinji, how's it going?!" Haru energetically asked as he walked towards Shinji's desk. "Oh, it's you Haru..." Shinji replied in an uninterested tone. "Hey what do you mean 'Oh, it's you Haru'? Of course it's me, and would you stop being so boring, talk about your vacation or something jeez!" Haru replied in a rather quick manner. "Jeez, would you calm down already and stop yelling, people are starring you goof." Shinji replied with an irritated expression. "So caring makes someone a goof? Well then call me the biggest goof alive because I care!" Haru exclaimed dramatically with tears, only to have Shinji punch him in the face to shut him up. "Damn it, I told you to calm down." Shinji said. "Got it..." Haru muttered on the ground. Shinji then sat back down in his seat and looked forward again with his bored and uninterested expression as usual. "She's beautiful today!" Haru suddenly exclaimed, causing an annoyed Shinji to turn around. "Jeez, what the hell is the problem this time?" Shinji asked but then noticed who Haru was looking at. It was a girl sitting near the window in the lower sets of rolls. "Who's she?" Shinji asked, keeping the same expression. "*GASP* You don't know who SHE is? She's the lovely and beautiful Minawe Kanigawa." Haru replied, infatuated with Minawe's beauty. "Jeez, she's just another student here, how am I suppose to know her?" Shinji said, turning back around. "Shinji, you know nothing about girls do you? Oh that's right, that's because all of them are scared of you because you have the tendency to beat up a lot of people." Haru replied, causing Shinji to turn back around. "Hey, I only beat up the people who are annoying and are a danger to society got that? And don't you worry about my social life." Shinji warned. "*GASP* No way!" Haru exclaimed. "Damn it, would you just shut up for five minutes?" Shinji asked, annoyed by the constant yelling. "That guy over there! He's trying to impress my Minawe with feats of magical prowess!" Haru proclaimed. "You mean magic tricks?" Shinji replied, unsurprised by how dumb Haru can act. "Oh no, she's falling right into his nerdy little hands!" Haru continued. "Jeez, just because someone wears glasses doesn't mean they're a nerd. You should know, you were supposedly a nerd once yourself considering you wore some really big glasses in eighth grade. And besides, that Minawe girl doesn't seem like the type to allow other people to gain her interest just by doing some magic tricks." Shinji explained. "Arrg, I'm going over there!" Haru said before he started walking, however, Haru was quickly stopped by Shinji who quickly stood up and held Haru back. "Damn, don't be so stupid and relax will ya?" Shinji said as he sat Haru down in a seat just above his seat.
Supreme Gamesmaster
OoC: Yes, I have that whole soliloquy memorized. And BluDawn, great posts, but paragraph breaks are your friends. It was the start of another year of school, and Ryoko Hanazawa saw hope and possibilities ahead. A new beginning... A fresh start... Truly, a magnificent prospect. As she stared out at the sun from her bedroom window, Ryoko felt herself fill with energy. And as she strolled out the door and began to approach Kurusawa High School, she began to speak: "Now is the summer of our discontent made soothing winter by this eastern snake, and all the clouds that loured upon our house cast to the peaceful and absolving sky. Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths, our bruised arms hung up for monuments, our stern alarums changed to merry meetings, our dreadful marches to delightful measures. Grim-visaged fear hath smoothed his wrinkled front, and now, instead of working evil deeds to fright the souls of fearful adversaries, he capers nimbly in a lady's chamber to the lascivious pleasing of a lute." She beheld the schoolyard: filled with the best young minds of tomorrow. All of them were ready to start a new year. Their heads were held high; their laughter rang out in the autumn air. And yet, every now and then, the fear and insecurity would shine forth in a student's false smile; the malice and coldness would reveal itself in their gleaming eyes. Ryoko's face twisted. "But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks, nor made to court an amourous looking-glass..." She glared down at her right arm, which hung uselessly by her side. "I, who am rudely stamped, and want loves majesty to strut before a wanton Adonis; I, who am curtailed of this fair proportion, cheated of feature by dissembling nature..." Born on Friday the thirteenth. The point, she supposed, was that she was unnatural. No matter. What did they know, anyway? "...deformed." She flapped her worthless arm by her side a bit, curling her lips into a bitter smirk. "Unfinished. Sent before my time into this breathing world scarce half made up -- and that so lamely and unfashionable that dogs bark at me as I halt by them." Well, it was a playful bark. Animals tended to be so much better about this sort of thing than humans, dogs especially -- they were so terribly loving. She'd tried to convince her parents to get her one, back when she'd thought they cared about her. That hadn't worked out, of course. "And therefore, as I cannot prove a lover and entertain these fair, well-spoken days... "I am determined to prove a villain, and hate the idle pleasures of these days." The new year had begun. And what a year it would be.
Sweetie Belle
It was dark. Not a thing in the room was visible. It was quiet, too... No sound was heard, save a whispering voice... Sakumi... Sakumi... SAKUMI! Sakumi bolted up in her bed. She opened her eyes and looked around the room. It was no longer dark. She looked around, and saw the dark room. Her eyes had adjusted to the light, allowing her to see the room in low detail. Her hair was in a mess, and the flimsy light blue shirt she wore to bed had slipped over her shoulder. Pulling it back up, she made her way out of the bed, feeling around for any obstacles that she might trip on. She felt along the wall until she found the curtain. She opened them, letting the light in from the morning sunrise. The room filled with bright, orange light, showing everything in the room. She sat on the bed and began to talk to her Yuishoko. "Blaze... why wake me up?" she asked, glaring at her palm. The soul responded in a windy, raspy voice. Late... Sakumi took a moment to ponder the meaning of Blaze's word. She didn't understand, until she looked at the large digital clock above her bed. It read "7:36" "ACK! I'm late! Blaze, why didn't you wake me up?!" It's not my problem... Sakumi folded her arms in disgust. "Well, f**k you." She picked up her purse and headed out the door. Sakumi took in the fresh morning scent as she walked outside. The sound of birds arguing was alwayys a lovely sound to hear, even though it got a bit annoying after about a minute. Dew on the grass shimmered in the sunlight, and small insects darted from blade to blade collecting water. I hate mornings... it always reeks of animals. Blaze complained. "Oh, be quiet. You never get out anyway." Turning the corner, they reached Kurosawa High. Students were entering, and some late tenth-graders were registering for their first year. "Well, let's make these next three years something." ... Something what? "I don't know. It's an expression." Not one that I kno-- "Shut up." Hotaru987
Minawe simply glanced towards Kieth as he began his magic trick. She wondered if he was hearing impared, because she was sure she was clear that magic tricks were seen as a waste of her valuable time. Minawe didn't spare Kieth another glance as she looked out the window, but even the fates seemed to what her to look at this trick, because she saw his reflection in the window. So in the end she watched the trick, and when he was finished Minawe looked at the array of flowers now on her desk. Of course it would be flowers. "I do not find this amusing at all." She stated her hands resting in her lap. "Would you be so kind as to remove these flowers Lucine-san." After that she didn't say another word to Kieth. These people just didn't understand that she didn't have time for these kind of things. She heard the two males in front of her talking - how could she not that one guy was so loud - but promptly ignored them. Neither one of them held a Yuishoko, and if they did they hadn't activated it yet. So at the moment Minawe's intrest of them was non-exsistant. There was only oen thing that Minawe was really interested in, and it was of a previous vision. One that had awoke her from a nights sleep. There wasn't any faces or anything, and the only thing she can see was an arm. It was strange, and different looking, with fire all around it. It was no doubt a Yushoko, as that was the only logical explination. The owner of that arm...Was increadibly strong...They took out an entire army of Akukon alone. There weren't many keepers at this school. Besides Kieth, there were three others, two of them females; Sakumi and Ryoko. The third was another male named Takeo. Minawe takes only minimal intrest in them, even if they were keepers like her. She had a feeling that none of them - especially Kieth - were the one with that arm. If they were, then when she used her "Soul Sight" there would have been a lot of energy coming from their arm. And that means I do not care for them.
GreyCat
"Aw, you are no fun at all Kanigawa-san," Keith said, mimicking he way of speaking. Attempts at cracking her shell were practically futile. But that was besides the point. The goal of a good magician was to go beyond the probable, do the impossible, see the invisible, touch the untouchable, break the unbreakable. And if Kanigawa was anything else, she was the unbreakable. He sighed and opened the window without a finger. Well, one finger a complicated trick made the window seem to open itself. He scooped the flowers up in one motion. He turned to the now open window and puffed the flower heads form his hands. Only, they weren't flower heads anymore. Colorful butterflies flapped out of his cupped hands and around his head and Kanigawa's deak. They flapped out the window and scattered. Magicians did the impossible for sure, but they also did it with flair ans style. He mimed tipping a hat at her and headed back to his desk and sighed. Just what would it take. .:Blu:.
((Gamesmaster, yeah, that has always been my problem lol)) "So Shinji my man, what did you do on your vacation?" Haru asked happily as he turned his body to face Shinji whose expression has yet to change. Shinji placed his right elbow onto his desk and his right hand onto his cheek before he began to talk. "Nothing..." Shinji replied plainly. "Aww c'mon Shinji, stop giving me the same answer over and over again whenever I ask you that." Haru whined. "Well then maybe you should stop asking the same question..." Shinji simply replied. "Alright, alright- Huh? Hey what's with that bracelet? Did a girl gave it to you?" Haru asked curiously, his voice sounded with a hint of teasing. "No, a girl did not give me this bracelet. My grandpa gave me it." Shinji responded, ridding all possible ways that Haru can try to humiliate Shinji with if, in fact, a girl did give Shinji the bracelet. "Wait, what? Your grandpa gave you that? Well that's weird. Doesn't he usually give you gag gifts that explode or something along those lines?" Haru asked, dumbfounded at the normal-looking bracelet. "Jeez, I don't know. Maybe he just decided to get me something normal this month, who cares? Huh, come to think of it. You're the first person I've shown this bracelet to. I didn't even get the chance to show this bracelet to my dad and sister because I was in my room all last night." Shinji proclaimed, his expression finally changed to a wondering state. "Well anyways, that looks like a pretty cool bracelet, and it doesn't look a day old." Haru complimented. "Yeah... I guess..." Shinji muttered quietly, his eyes gazing restlessly on the bracelet as if looking into an abyss. -Meanwhile- Back at the Kimura household, Shinji's father was on the phone talking to Shinji's grandfather, Hideaki Kimura. "What?! You've given him the bracelet?!" Shinji's father, Hitoshi exclaimed in utter shock. "Yes I did. You didn't know?" Hideaki asked. "No, Shinji was in his room all last night preparing his things for school, but why did you gave him the bracelet? It's unnecessary to-" Hitoshi's sentence was cut short by Hideaki. "It is necessary now..." Hideaki replied in a grim tone. "W-What do you mean by that?" Hitoshi asked hesitantly. Nervous sweat drops can be seen on his forehead. "We keepers here at GAKY have reason to believe that Akukon have once again resurfaced onto this world." Hideaki explained. "What?! But how? They can't be, not after-" Once again Hitoshi was interrupted by Hideaki. "I know... But it is likely that some of the Akukon have survived, created more Akukon, and are now searching for the Yuishoko." Hideaki explained. "And that is why you decided to send the bracelet here? Because Tanimori Town is one of the sacred sites?" Hitoshi asked. "Yes... And as you know, no Akukon can survive at a sacred site. That is why some keeper families have already made the move to relocate to Tanimori." Hideaki continued. "I see... Well, at least Shinji will be safe here in Tanimori..." Hitoshi said in relief. "Not quite..." Hideaki stated grimly. "What do you mean? Tanimori is a sacred site. The Akukon won't be able to-" "It's not the Akukon who I am worry about. Rumor has it that members of the Kurogetsu family survived as well..." Hideaki finally broke the news. Upon hearing that statement, Hitoshi's arm that was holding the phone fell limp at his side. His face showed absolute fear. "T-The Kurogetsu family is alive?" Hitoshi muttered to himself. "Hello, Hitoshi, are you there?" Hideaki asked worryingly. Hitoshi, after a moment, finally heard Hideaki calling him and placed the phone back next to his ear. "Y-Yeah, I'm here..." Hitoshi said hesitantly. "It's only a rumor that hasn't been confirm so no need to worry. Just make sure to keep an eye out on things. Remember, unlike the Akukon, a sacred site has no affect on a keeper family... That is all I have to say, goodbye and be careful..." Hideaki said before hanging up, leaving Hitoshi to stand there quietly...
Desu the Blue Nerd
OoC: Sorry guys. I really need to speed this up a bit more. Well I managed to redo this but since I did this in word (it has less problems) not every paragrapg meets four lines that I like to do for each paragraph. The room was small and extremely basic. It contained a simple bed, chair, desk, and a small TV that was on the desk. The desk was piled with so many books and notes that the small TV was almost hidden and a young man was fast asleep on it using his arms and a book as a pillow. His head was on its side and the rest of him was sitting on the room’s only chair. He didn’t even notice the door open and close in his common deep sleep. His eyes slowly opened as the face of a girl with dyed pink hair and hazel eyes that were slowly closing approached his own. Before the girl knew it she had gone too far and was now tripping over the empty chair that the young man had just been sitting on. “AH!” Before she hit the ground she was caught at the collar of the girl’s pajama top only a few inches from the ground. “Brother. You do care for me. Why else would you save me from what could have been such a disfigurement of my adorable face?” She grabbed her face to hide the blushing. “Oh brother, I lo-,” she was cut off mid-sentence when the grip on her was let go. She fell the rest of the way but wasn’t hurt since it was just a few inches. “Owwy.” She got up onto her knees. Tears were streaming down her face. “Br-brother? How could you? While I’m trying to proclaim my love for you?“ She snapped her fingers and wiped her tears away regaining her smile. “Of course. It’s because you didn’t want me to call you brother. You haven’t accepted our love yet because of that fact.” She grabbed her face blushing again. “I’m sorry. To make it easier for you I’ll call you by your name. Takeo. Awe…Ta-ke-o…” To stop her nonstop talking Takeo flicked her on the forehead. She fell back while grabbing her forehead. In his normal tired and emotionless voice he said, “I needed to put my tie on and I couldn’t while holding you.” He finished tying his tie around his neck as the girl slumped to the ground with some more tears streaming down her face. “So what do you want Rin? I was sleeping.” Rin jumped up onto her feet. “Well you fell asleep while studying last night…again…I wanted to take advantage of you then but then Ken was still up studying. I was going to wait until he fell asleep but I did slightly before him. I hope that pervert didn’t do anything while I was asleep. Wait, I’m the only one that would do that here.” Rin noticed that Takeo wasn’t paying attention. He was putting some of the books and notebooks in his book bag. “Hey! Apologize!” Takeo just finishing backing looked back at Rin. “I’ll get working on breakfast. You get Ken up and have him help me. He’s a good cook. You will start cleaning.” Rin started grumbling a bit. “I’ll help you with cleaning after Ken is started.” Rin started jumping up and down excited for working with her big brother. She ran out of the room to get started and keep her busy until then. He was about to leave and go into the kitchen when Rin randomly glomped him. He was able to stay standing up with no problems as if nothing happened. “Ta-Ke-O! I forgot to mention this but you haven’t taken a shower yet. How about we take one together? I’ll make sure you’re squeaky clean…everywhere. You can wash me too. Be gentle though.” She dug her head into his chest but soon lost her grip on him and fell off. He stepped over her and headed to the kitchen. After a little while of starting to cook with some of the other servants a boy even younger than Rin walked in. Unlike Rin who was going to be in the 9th grade he was going to be in the 7th grade which meant they were both in middle school. “Hey Takeo bro. Oh jeez. Look what these Mizus have done to me. I’m using bad puns like them too.” He laughed at his own joke and then threw something to Takeo. “Here, it’s deodorant. Rin told me you didn’t take a shower. For some reason she seemed upset. Maybe you smell bad so until you use it I’ll be staying 10 feet away from you. Takeo used the deodorant and then put it in an extra pocket in his book bag for future use. “Ken, I’ll need you to fill in here for me. I have a lot of the stuff done already. Notify me and Rin when the food is done.” Ken nodded as Takeo left to clean with Rin. The rest of the morning went smoothly enough. By the time it was time to go Rin was begging for him to stay and Ken had made at least 72 more bad jokes. He put on his jacket and left the Mizushima mansion to go to school. -10 minutes of walking and a subway ride later- Takeo arrived at the main gates of Kurusawa High School just in time. The gates closed right behind him as he entered. He didn't waste time to get to his class. While walkling he took out a piece of paper that listed his room, classes, and all that crap. He found his class fairly easy. He did notice that there were already others there but that was the limit. Somebody had just let some butterflies outside as he walked in but Takeo didn't pay any attention to that. He just found his seat and sat down soon falling asleep on his desk. Quiksilver
Both Aito and Kaiya's eyes began to itch at the same time. The fact that the twins experienced something at the same time was not out of the ordinary- as a matter of the fact, it was an everyday thing. Many a time would Aito experience a feeling Kaiya just had, or vice versa; no, it was not that that was odd. It was the eyes itching thing. The last time that had happened was just before something had happened to Aito and Kaiya. The memory was blurry and undefined, but the twins knew something odd had happened when their eyes began scratching. The twins were currently situated at different ends of a classroom at Kurusawa High School, which they currently attended. In the midst of their respective friends, talking and laughing, the twins straightened up at the same time. Turning their heads ever so slightly, Aito and Kaiya looked at each other and caught each other's eyes; swiftly, they were able to tell they were experiencing the same thing from that shared gaze. The twins were both tall and supple, with light brown hair that differentiated them from their darker-haired classmates. Aito was wider and more defined, while Kaiya has an almost graceful figure; nevertheless, both shared their same dark brown eyes, eyes that were currently locked upon one another. Mumbling something to their friends, the two separated themselves from their little groups and met in the middle of the classroom. "Kaiya, what's going on? The last time-" "Yes, I know, Aito. Just act as if nothing is happening, maybe it will go away." Aito seemed to find comfort in this for, as he turned away, his trademark grin had appeared on his face. The itching in their eyes died down afterwards, which only seemed to envigorate Aito; he returned to his friends with a boisterous laugh, but Kaiya on the other hand remained still. The female twin, even though she had said the words, was not so sure ignoring the feeling would make it go away. She had a strange feeling that their eyes itching was only the start of things to come- bad things to come. Wondering where this had come from, Kaiya turned away as if to make to go back to her own friends and her eye fell upon a couple in a seat. She knew both of them slightly- one was a boy named Keith. He liked to do...magic tricks, was it? Kaiya wasn't sure; she hadn't found time to talk to him much. The other girl, Minawe, she knew better. She had almost approached the girl, trying to make friends, but some of her art buddies had intercepted Kaiya, and warned her that Minawe was how shall we say, a bit...strange. Not kooky and weird strange, just...strange. She was always aloof and didn't show interest in making friends, and some people even muttered about how she was a witch. Kaiya didn't believe that rumor, but still, she had stayed away from the girl. Until now. The same sense of intuition that had led her to think the eyes itching was only the beginning led her to believe that those two...they had something to do with this. She wasn't sure, but she felt as though she knew the two- something approaching a bond connected them. Warily approached the pair, Kaiya caught the end of "Aw, you are no fun at all Kanigawa-san" from the boy and suddenly butterflies seemed to appear, scattering into the wind. Kaiya laughed as she saw them, and then realizing this would make it look like she had just randomly appeared and started laughing (which she did), she hurriedly shut up and said, "Hello, Minawe, Keith," she said, holding out her hand. "I was just wondering how you all were doing this morning." Inwardly cringing at the poor attempt at an ice-breaker, Kaiya could only hope her comforting smile would convince the pair she was not planning something bad. OoC: Think of the eyes-itching thing as Kaiya and Aito's Yuishoko reacting to the presence of other Yuishoko, which usually would only happen when they are really close to other Keepers, but due to the presence of so many Yuishoko (think of Shinji finally acquiring his as the deal-breaker) in this room it occurred then as well.
Sweetie Belle
The first thing Sakumi noticed when she entered the classroom was the boy who had fallen asleep on his desk. "Pathetic," she said to herself, "Falling asleep, and class hasn't even started yet. What an idiot." Why not wake him up? asked Blaze, Maybe he might have a story. "As if I'd want to listen to him. Look at him! It's pathetic!" If you let him sleep, he'll stay an idiot, and you'll have to spend three years with an idiot. Sakumi heard Blaze's statement. "...Shut up, Blaze." She stormed over to the boy's seat, also attracting some guys, who were all ready to ask her out, grabbed the back of his collar, and forced him up into an upright position. "You!" she said aloud, "Sit up and don't be an idiot." It was then she got a good look at his face. Her heart pounded as her face turned red. She felt enamored by him, despite him being an "idiot." Someone has a crush, I see... and something else. There's something about him... "Shut up, Blaze," she whispered. (It's a tad short, sorry)
Hotaru987
If Minawe wasn't as reserved as she was, her hand probably would have found the back of Kieth's head. Why? Simply because he wouldn't let her be. The fact that she had to deal with people calling her by her first name was bad enough - and even by her last name, though it was a bit better, was still slightly irritating to her. Minawe's eyes narrowed slightly at Kieth as he made the butterflies appear - did he not know when to quit? "Aw, you're no fun Kanigawa-san." Said person's right eye twitched ever so slightly in irritation. What she wouldn't give to be out of character just one time. As she was actually considering going through with her first plan, a small girl came up to her desk, addressing both her and Kieth - who had already ventured to his seat, so Minawe figured he didnt hear her. Hearing that yet another person addressed her with such familiarity made her want to glare, but she had to rememer not everyone was brought up as she was. The girl was Kaiya Fukuzawa, the female twin to Aito Fukuzawa. Though they didn't have an Yuishoko - well at least not when she used her "Soul Sight", which only means that the Yuishoko hasn't been used. It doesn't necessarily mean that she doesn't possess one. Even so, Minawe was inclined to ignore her. The girl held no intrest to Minawe, and neither did her brother, but even as she thought that something was telling her not to blow her off. That there was something about her that would prove to entice her interest, and Minawe's instincts are usually accurate. With an inaudible sigh she looked at Kaiya from the corner of her eyes, almost giving the impression she was glaring. "Goodmorning Fukuzawa-san." Kaiya has never come up to her before, so why she was suddenly doing so was a mystery to Minawe.
GreyCat
Keith smiled happily. Sure, Minawe was being as hard headed as always, but she did watch his trick, and Kaiya came over. Bonus points. "Bonjour Madame Kaiya. Je suis bien, mais comment êtes-vous cette belle journée?" he asked in french, one because it was fancy and two because it might annoy Minawe into reacting. He switched back to Japanese. "I was just trying to show Kanigawa-san with my magic tricks but I don't think she liked it. She has the whole 'I am not amused' look on her face?" He shrugged as if it didn't bother him. "I don't really mind. There were always those skeptics that don't believe in," he waved his hand an a trail of sparkles followed before falling and fading, "magic." He reached for his wand, Kaiya might give a better reaction, and jumped when it shocked him. "Gah! Static," he massaged his hand and picked it up. "You would think this thing was cursed," he muttered. It was always do that sort of thing. It it wasn't popping up in the bath tub, it was shocking him. "Kaiya, would you like to see one of my magic tricks?"
Desu the Blue Nerd
Takeo's eyes slowly opened a bit as he woke up from his nap. He didn't really pay to much attention to the girl holding him up until he wiped some of the drool off his face and rubbed his eyes. He looked at the girl who was still holding him up. In fact, the girl was the only thing keeping him up. He didn't know the girl but he really didn't know anybody or even care if he knew the person or not. "Could you let go so I can go back to sleep." Takeo didn't pay any mind to how red her face was. He was really just thinking about getting back to sleep.
Supreme Gamesmaster
OoC: So... d'you have any idea how Keith actually does his tricks? And paragraph break before every new speaker plus wherever it looks good, Blu. Ryoko half-limped into the room, still in Richard's mindset. She corrected herself in time to sit down, but only just. The hard part had been smuggling a live snake into school. Thankfully, she'd solved that problem years ago: Ladon was curled up in a special case at the bottom of her backpack, pretending to be inanimate. Now, then, what were her wonderful, compassionate classmates up to? Well, someone thought they had the key to magic in their hands, and saw fit to ensure that everyone knew it before the day began. It ought to be entertaining, if nothing else. That sort of parlour trick didn't terribly impress Ryoko, though miserably failed egotism was always funny. She was much more interested in other magics: tarot, runecasting, potions, talismans, the like. Even that was mainly boredom, but she imagined that she or Ladon made something click sometimes. In fact, she'd done a five-rune cast to predict the coming year the day before, mainly out of boredom: Hagalaz, Eihwaz merkstave, Othala, Nauthiz, Uruz. That had been responsible for much of her good mood. Besides that, it was the usual circus of fake relationships and abject ignorance of anyone not precisely in line with one's ambitions and self-defined social role. Drab. Magic-boy would almost certainly be isolated for his arrogance -- a potential ally? However undeserved. No, it was unlikely that someone with his sense of superiority would ever associate with her. Ryoko closed her eyes, lay back in her chair, and smiled. She was in an absurdly good mood, and she intended to enjoy it while it lasted.
.:Blu:.
Shinji sat there, bored while tapping his fingers constantly on the wooden desk. Shinji is usually an impatient person but he knows how to keep to himself. Haru, on the other hand, was constantly talking to Shinji even though Shinji wasn't paying the least bit of attention to his stories. "Arrg, it gets me so mad. Look at those people over there gathering around my Minawe. I should be over there with her!" Haru stated passionately. Shinji stopped tapping on the desk and sat up. Looking straight at Haru, Shinji began to speak. "Haru, would you just stop talking about that already. Stop being jealous would ya? You don't even know the girl personally." Shinji said plainly. "Jeez, and when will this teacher get here, it's been like five minutes already..." Shinji complained, his boredom getting a hold of him. Shinji then set his head on the desk, thinking that it was probably gonna be another while until the teacher arrives. Then, footsteps can be hear near the door. Hearing the footsteps, Shinji sat up and look at the door. "Sorry for my tardiness class. I had an unintended meeting with the school principal before coming here." a calm voice said. Working to the front of the room was a tall, young-looking man appearing to be in his mid to late twenties. He has wavy black hair that reached down to his neck with bangs parting at the side of his face. The man looks quite dashing and handsome, wearing an expensive-looking suit. His appearance caused quite an uproar with most of the young girls in the class. "Alright, now everybody please take your seats and we can begin the new year. I am Mr. Takizawa, your English teacher." Takizawa introduced himself, officially revealing his face to the whole class. "Finally..." Shinji said as he took out his notebook and pencils from his backpack. "Alright class, as a social exercise to get everybody familiar with each other, I would like for all of you to go around the room and get to know your fellow classmates. I know it seems rather unnecessary considering all of you did have an extra six minutes to talk in class, but I think most of you were just spending your time catching up with your friends, so here's the chance to meet your other classmates. I will stop this exercise in about five minutes. Have fun." Takizawa explained. Once the five minutes had begun, some of the students have gathered around Takizawa instead of meeting their other classmates. "So Shinji, let's go and say hi to Minawe." Haru suggsted eagerly. "I rather just sit this one out." Shinji replied plainly. "But you're suppose to be my wingman! Ugh, you're no fun!" Haru complained, placing his head onto his desk. Quiksilver
Kaiya had stood there for several minutes after Keith had pulled out French -where had that come from?-, unsure how to respond. She had just managed to choke out, "Um, sure, I'd like to see a magic trick," when Mr. Takizawa entered the room. She turned to look at the teacher and was blown away. Why couldn't all teachers be that handsome?...Across the room, Aito had simply raised an eyebrow as the teacher walked into the room, and noticing the girls around the room, whispered something to his friends. Guffawing occurred afterwards. "Alright, now everybody please take your seats and we can begin the new year. I am Mr. Takizawa, your English teacher." The man said. Turning back to the other two, Kaiya had the grace to smile and say, "Nice to meet you both. Guess we'll have to wait for that magic trick later, it seems." Parting with a wave, Kaiya returned to her seat; her brother also did so, albeit reluctantly, as it was right next to that creepy girl's seat, Ryoko. Aito thought she was more witch-like than Minawe, who was pretty hot for someone who cut herself off from anything resembling a social life. She was better-looking than most of the girls Aito had gone out with. Ah, the irony, Aito thought. An girl with barely any social life is hotter than most that do. The teacher's next words brought Aito out of his musing. Have fun." Aito, having been slouching in his seat beforehand, snapped upwards. Hm, this might be his chance to score some points with the ladies... Aito made his way over to Minawe, unaware that his sister had just been visiting just a minute ago and was still watching. "Hello, baby," he said, grinning to reveal small, white teeth." Minawe, is it? I'm Aito. Nice to meet'cha." Kaiya, on the other hand, while still watching Aito try to flirt (with amusement), had made her way over to Keith. "So, do you think you could do a magic trick in five minutes?" She smiled slightly.
Hotaru987
Minawe's attention was pulled to the front of the class when the doors opened, and a figure walked in. It was their new teacher, Takizawa-Sensei. As soon as he walked into the room he was an instant hit with the female persuasion of the class, while most of the males looked rather annoyed at the fact the teacher was better looking that most of them. Even Minawe had to admit that he was rather attractive, but that was as far as her intrest in him went, and Takizawa quickly became nothing more than background priority to her. She barely registered that he told the class to have a seat, and only realized it when Kaiya had left without asking whatever it is she came over there to ask. Minawe simply closed her eyes as yet again she was called by her first name. If you think about it she should be used to it by now, but Minawe was very - I guess you could say - proud when it came to tradition. Seconds after telling the class to have a seat, he said they would use some time for the students to get aquainted with each other. Minawe closed her eyes praying to god that she would be left alone. The only constilation was that there were no members of the exponentially growing fan club she apparently has. "Hello, baby. Minawe isn't it? Nice to meet ya." Another inaudible sigh left her mouth as she glanced at the male standing next to her. It was Aito, Kaiya's twin brother. So one leaves and then the other one appears. It was irritatingly ironic. At the moment there were a multitude of things she wanted to say, and do to the boy who used her first name as if they were romantically involved, and not just meeting for the first time. With females she was a bit more willing to over look it, but males were a different story. However, Minawe held her tongue, chosing to stare at him instead searching for the right words to say. Finally she said, "Fukuzawa-san-" She stressed telling him to add it onto her name, "I do not see what is so nice about this meeting, as the only thing I can think of doing right now is removing myself from your prescence as swiftly as possible." GreyCat
"Not problem," Keith grinned. He smiled slightly as Kaiya's sister made the moves on Kanigawa. Talk about stilling your head in the lion's maw. He would be lucky if he only crashed and burned. In any case, he had a trick to do. "Five minute trick, huh? I was thinking of the hoops dance, but that takes a while and isn't as interesting... I showed the flower heads to Kanigawa earlier..." He snapped his fingers. He had the perfect one. Didn't call too much on the hat's power to work either. Good thing he always carried supplies with him. He rummaged in his bag and spilled a pack of artificial flower petals on his desk "See the pretty petals?" he asked in his sideshow voice. "Now, watch," he draped a white cloth he pulled from his sleeve over it. He kneaded it slowly, then pulled the cloth away. The petals became four full artificial flowers. He grinned, and draped the cloth over it again, but the cloth didn't drop flat. It instead looked as if was covering something. He lifted it and revealed the stuffed bunny that replaced the flowers. Taking the wand, he drew a shimmering ribbon from it and tied a bow on the bunny. He offered it to Kaiya. "It's more impressive with a real bunny but, for you." .:Blu:.
"Arrg, I can't take it anymore! Now there's another guy trying to get at my Minawe!" Haru complained, slamming his fists onto his desk. Shinji looked at Haru with a blank expression and a sweatdrop on his head. "Your Minawe? Alright, I think you've taken this little crush way to far Haru." Shinji proclaimed. Shinji then sat back in his chair and closed his eyes. "Besides, you haven't even talk to her directly, so what makes you think she'll be interested in you anyways?" Shinji asked. A few seconds passed by without a response from Haru, leaving Shinji to believe that Haru finally understand the circumstances. However, when Shinji opened his eyes, he saw Haru's desk empty. "What the- Where the hell did he go?"Shinji asked before turning around to see Haru walking towards Minawe. "Oh great, he never listens..." Shinji said with a sweatdrop on his forehead. Though he knew that the right thing to do was to stop Haru, Shinji decided instead to stay at his desk, not wanting to get involve. Haru arrived at Minawe's desk, his eyes first gazing at Aito with the intent of making an enemy. "I think it's best for you to step aside and let a real man handle this," is what Haru's gaze is saying to Aito. Haru then fixed his expression into a happy one and turned to face Minawe. "Good morning *Mina-chan! I know we haven't met before so let me introduce myself to you. My name is Haru Kichida, and may I say that you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. Would you like to go watch a movie with me sometime?" Haru cut straight to the point. Back at his desk, Shinji felt a strange presence in the air. However, Shinji didn't know what to make of it. He kept it to himself, but was constantly looking at his bracelet as if the strange presence was coming from his bracelet. "(What is this?)" Shinji thought to himself, his gaze not leaving the bracelet.
Sweetie Belle
Feeling insulted by the boy's indifference, she slapped him across the face with her free hand. "Ho- How dare you! A pretty girl is addressing you directly, and you don't care to introduce yourself? And instead, you'd rather sleep? You're such an idiot!" She tugged the back of his collar with a sudden jerk, stopping his breath for a split second. "Listen. I don't want to spend my high school life in the same class as an idiot, so I suggest that you better fix your act, or I'll do it for you. Understand?" Hotaru987
To Minawe this day couldn't possibly get any worse; first Fukuzawa and now this idiot comes up to her. Not only did he give her a nickname, but her called her Mina-chan - a term used in endearment, and a very diminuative honorific except when reffering to a child, or close friend, and Minawe was neither. To even hear someone call her such a thing like "Mina-chan" had her momentarily stunned with shock. Not even her own family called her such a childish name. It only took a few seconds before her compouser was reigned in, and she was glaring at the boy. "Kichida-san-" She started, "You are of no intrest to me."
